I went in 3 days ago with a rash on my arm and back that was causing some irritation, burning and muscle pain. The muscle pain was my biggest concern, as i have never had a skin irritation that caused muscular discomfort. The nurse seemed pretty confident it was shingles, as was i. But the doctor came in and completely disregarded my concern that it was painful. When i told her that there was painful swelling in or around my lymph node in my arm pit near the rash, she began pushing hard into it and told me "It's not that swollen." Twice she asked me "so its itchy with no pain?" After i clearly stated several times that my reason for coming in was because of how painful it was. She ended up telling me to take benedryl, and that it was dermatitis, but couldnt explain the pain. I asked if we could treat for shingles, and she refused stating that she was taught all life-threatening rashes, and this was not one of them. She could not get me out of the room fast enough. Now, im at Nextcare with a Shingles diagnosis and a prescription for treatment. Thanks for wasting $400. I hope i never need your help in the future. Your dedication to taking care of people is laughable, and your empathy is non-existant. I felt like you didnt care about me or my concerns. That doctor saw "rash" on my intake form and made up her mind that i was wasting her time and disregarded the pertinant information required to make an appropriate diagnosis. Perhaps she thought her ego was being threatened.
If you can help it, go somewhere else.
