Just delivered my baby there 9/24. If it wasn t for the nurses my experience would ve been not so good. Dr. Stephens made me feel extremely uncomfortable and had a big attitude when delivering me. She was rude to my nurses, made me feel like I was bothering her and she was so busy that I was an inconvenience to her having to deliver me. I asked for delayed cord clamping she then argued with me in the middle of me having my baby because she said 60 secs was enough I wanted to wait 3 minutes, she tried to fear me into thinking my baby would get jaundice. I asked to see my placenta and I wanted her to show me the tree of life in it, I wanted to touch it and feel what my baby lived in for 9 months, once again I felt like she judged me she held it up like it was nothing special and threw it away. She was so incredibly rude and ruined my birthing experience honestly, I shouldn t have anything negative to remember from such an incredible day and honestly I feel so sad I had her as my delivery doctor. If it wasn t for the wonderful nurses I would say this hospital SUCKED. Lol & the lady s in the front handling emergency need to learn how to communicate with patients having contractions, so incredibly inconsiderate and rude.

Came in for bleeding and severe pain on my right side. Asked for a wheel chair and was denied? When the doctor/nurse came in her exact words were "We only treat emergencies. We see this kind of thing all of the time". She assumed I was coming in a second time for I had come in the week prior experiencing lower abdominal pain and was given false information about my condition, TOLD by three different staff members that they were treating me for it then today come to find out I wasn't actually being treated for it AND that apparently I don't even have the condition they told me I did in the first place! Without bothering to get all of my symptoms down she insisted I was coming in a second time for the same issues as before but these symptoms are COMPLETELY different from the ones the week prior. She argued with me about me not making it in for my follow up with an OB. Well, unfortunately I couldn't make it to an OB this last week because of insurance issues and needing to change/find a new PCP and then get permission to see an OB. She then left the room in a rude manner as she told me to change but left the drapes WIDE open as I'm in the process of doing so?! Now I'm home, still in pain which is gradually increasing in severity! Normally I'd have nothing but positive things to say about that hospital but their ER staff are very inconsiderate, rude and not worth the waste of time you'll lose. They don't even deserve the one star I rated them. Keep reading the reviews you'll see the ER staff is obviously very ill mannered and incapable of doing their job properly!!! I'm not the only one. I highly suggest not going there.

Worst hospital, I will never go here or refer anyone here. The security guard on the night shift was so rude, people come to the hospital already not feeling well and the last thing they need is some guy that couldn't make the police department being a dick to them. I came in with my 3 kids 7,8,10 after being in a car accident in which my vehicle was completely totaled.

They have the best nurse I ve ever seen so far.
Her name is JEANNE and she helped me at the ER room. She is really professional, very nice, patient, serious, and great listener. It looks like she really likes to help people not just to get paid. I wish all nurses become like her. To be fair, Other staff members were nice too.
Thank you Jeanne. God bless you.

This place is the epitome of why the healthcare system is broken. They will over recommend services all day long that are unnecessary, but the one time you need their help to be induced, they tell you that "we are overcapacity". But of course, they are more then happy to "monitor you" i.e. make more money for doing nothing. When you walk in you will see probably five "nurses" in the front, whose sole job seems to be to sit around and advise people that they are too busy. I'm glad that the "triage" has so many rooms to "monitor" people, but not enough room to induce people when they have been scheduled four days in advance. If you just so happen to be blessed with their "services", you will be happy to know that they have someone whose job is to collect a payment that night. So if you're in a crisis, and concerned about your babies health, at least you'll have the comfort of a woman with a laptop come in and tell you "how will you be paying for this today". Love desert west, do not recommend OB Triage at Banner Thunderbird.

Wow just got back from the hospital and from the m...

Wow just got back from the hospital and from the moment we walked into the maternity triage Jen was so disrespectful not only to me but to my pregnant wife who was experiencing issues walking as shes been in a car accident, has pelvic issues and as she is a week over due being 41 weeks today. We came in as a main focus on my wife because she had been falling down at random times as we kept asking what's is wrong with my wife no focus was put on her and all jen continued to say was the baby's ok. Like we know he's ok we hear the heartbeat and have an obgyn appointment tomorrow the obgyn told us to come in and were trying to get to the main source of the problem so she doesn't fall and hurt our baby. I went out to give the data lady our insurance information only to hear these words out of Jens mouth,"the reasons people come into this triage are so stupid sometimes." We are very upset because this is our first baby and the obgyn said to come in if anything sets off a red flag so I'm sorry Jen that our concern for our baby was an inconvience to you.

Horrible! The wait In the E.R is never long for me. (Since I come with little ones) the wait to see a doctor is horrible . I'm at the moment waiting on a nurse or doctor to come tell me what's the next step to see if my daughters arm is hurt after my son fell on it. I've been behind curtains waiting over 30 mins. This is ridiculous! I have 4 other kids home waiting to be put to bed and an eight months old who is breastfed. Might I add their not busy!

I cannot say enough positive things about the care I received in Maternity/OB Triage. I recently gave birth to my first at this hospital. My daughter had to be in the NICU for a few days and I had to stay a couple extra nights. All the doctors and nurses were absolutely amazing and wonderful. Every one of them genuinely cared about my pain and the NICU nurses kept me very informed regarding any updates with my baby girl. Highly recommend this department and feel totally comfortable giving birth here again. My doctor Rebecca Branaman was a godsend and couldn t imagine anyone else taking on the difficulties that my labor faced.

I give this hospital a one star as for the waiting in the ER room. I been here with my brother and mother since 10:30 PM and it's already 1:10 AM and we still haven't been called to the back. This is damn ridiculous to be waiting this long just to be called to the back. I thought Thunderbird was a real fast hospital that's why we decided to come here. Sad to say this is the last time we come here or I would recommend this hospital to anybody in the future or at all. Bad service for speed in attending patients that are hurting.

Terrible customer service. Doctor got into business he shouldn't have and was very rude. Nurses seem annoyed by any request you make. Everthing took forever to get done. Everyone there just seems to care more about getting through their shift instead of actually caring about their patients. I wouldn't recommend this hospital to anyone!!

I had my first baby here 2 weeks ago , and I couldn t have asked for a better experience. From the moment I arrived I felt that me and my baby were cared for. I had four different nurses during my time in labor and delivery and I wish I remembered all their names because they were all amazing! The two nurses that were in the room while I was getting my epidural helped tremendously I don t think i could ve been so calm without their amazing spirits there to keep mine up. I do remember Janessa (I hope that s how to spell it) she was the nurse that in the room during the delivery and she was perfect. She was kind , and very supportive. She actually ended up delivering my daughter basically on her own because my baby didn t wanna wait a couple minutes for the doctor. Thank you everyone and anyone that I interacted with , you guys made this such an amazing start to being to mother.

I'm still nauseated with grief how despicable my 20 year old Granddaughter that Voluntarily went with me for help for her severe Heroin Addiction, that's visibly is killing her was Treated like a little low life *Junkie*. They treated her so dangerously horrific, she never received help she went there for. She did NOTHING wrong but to ask for help.

I have no intention of contacting a *Support Team* on this serious matter what happened to my Granddaughter. It will be taken to another level... Somebody WILL answer to what was done to her. She's my first Grandchild-Not a throw away *Junkie*.

I had a very good time there they were prompt on seeing me. Every one cared about me and how I felt. They took the time to listen to me. Now, the ER was rough. But I believe it seemed a long time because I felt so bad and didn't know what was happening to me. The kitchen associates also took the time to explain to me just what I was able to eat and why. The staff that handles the booklets and it's forms need to be a little more interactive so that the patient or they fill out the information (by what the patient says) so that the patient DOES know what the booklet entails.

I gave birth to my son here on September 27th 2016. The nurses were amazing and talked me through everything. The anesthesiologist was very gentle and after noticing that I was very scared, he talked to me in order to get my mind off of the procedure. I also had a miscarriage that I was hospitalized for the previous year and everyone was understanding and gentle about it. The hospital checked in with me when I came home both times and they hold an annual ceremony to honor children that have passed. This has helped tremendously in my family's healing process.

Had my baby girl back in July 2019. I felt my entire c-section. I blacked out after feeling the first initial incision and only have a few foggy memories while inside the operating room. My Husband is still emotionally and mentally dealing with the fact that he had to see his wife scream the entire time, begging them to stop (all while trying to focus and be excited about the birth of our first child). We escalated the situation and spoke with multiple individuals at the hospital, but of course they were not going to admit fault on something like this. All we received were excuses and no clear answers as to why this happened and why I was never put under when in such extreme pain. It s such a haunting thought knowing I was awake the entire procedure, but don t have a memory of any of it (except for bits and pieces) due to the immense pain I was in. The reason I m writing this in the middle of the night is, because I often find myself unable to sleep haunted over the fact that we had such a traumatic experience and just overall bothered by the way it was handled. After this horrific experience, we now face our harsh reality of being extremely fearful of having another child.

The check in lady laura.. about 4pm or just after 4pm today ( check cameras) was very rude to a differant patient....not myself. He was dropped off after having and appearing to still be having a mild seziour. His ride put him in wheel chair and left him in line. He waited about 8 or 10 minutes as only one check in person was available. We could see he was coming out of it just before his turn...so we approached to move him forward and ask if he needed a blanket as he was cold to the touch( alot of people were freezing) She then said no it would effect his triage.....not buying that at all... Tank top shorts slumped over stating he had just had a seizour and was in need of a blanket ...a non heated blanket does not affect a seizour....or a triage!!! Then moves him to the corner of the room by strangers who can see hes either having another seizour or so cold hes shaking to death....few minutes later triage nurse comes calls his name realizes hes in corner shake her head (not sure she was disgusted by him in corner shaking or because she thought he was a addict) either way she was gental with him and covered him with blanket and did her job kindly..he is a person who wanted help...reguarless of what caused or did not cause his seizour. 3 employees were asked if they could give the checkin ladys bage or name to us so we could make a complaint...no one knew her name and knowone was telling us...eventualy a second check in lady came...and we got Laura's name that way... Laura your in a position you dont get to judge others or give a different level of kindness to others....shame on you!!!

Worst service ever! I had a horrible experience at this hospital. Took my mother in for a head injury to the ER. We checked in at 12am she was not seen until 6am. I kept asking what was taking so long the staff said that it was a 3 and half hour wait. Finally at 6am they put us in a room only to wait for two hours more. I asked if they had forgotten about us and the nurse said that the doctor had other patients that we where not the only ones. All I could hear was the nurse having a good old time with all the other nurses wasting there time. Unbelievable!

Well, it s been almost 5 hours and my partner hasn t even had vitals taken by a nurse or spoken to any Dr beyond the single one that asked if I would like coffee while shivering in the hallway cause they don t have enough beds for a not busy not in the ER. I had promised myself to never come back after being ignored (in a similar way when I came in for chest pains a couple weeks back) but figured something as simple to diagnose and treat as a cat bite would be ok. Calling Honor Health for ER wait times so my partner doesn t die of sepsis in the hallway while the local drunk/addict waits for a room to detox away from others. On the other hand, he has been quite entertaining... /

Edit 2 hours later...

92nd and Shea got us in, back, examined, treated, and released in just over an hour! It took a half hour drive both ways but it was worth it.

REMEMBER PEOPLE... WE PAY THE HOSPITALS TO TAKE CARE OF US, NOT THE OTHER WAY AROUND. IF WE AREN T BEING TREATED PROPERLY *WE* HAVE TO SPEAK UP FOR OURSELVES.

Our baby was a still born baby, the nurses really went above and beyond helping us treasure this special day. They took pictures, made a special bracelet with my baby's name, got his footprints, and a very special musical box, the list goes on. . . We really couldn't asked for more.

If you have a medical emergency, do not go to this hospital. I was transported there by ambulance 8 weeks ago because I was having seizures. The nurses I had in the ER were not communicating and as a result they almost accidentally overdosed me. Luckily my parents were paying attention to let them know. Then the nurses in the unit I was in would make me wait 35-45 minuets after I pressed the call button to go to the restroom. But the worst part were the doctors. The neurologist who treated me, did not want to run any tests and just send me home even though I was still having seizures. Thanks to his neglect, I am now dealing with a potentially dangerous health issue that he could have diagnosed correctly had he just run a test. I will never go back to this hospital.

My dad was admitted here for 7 days as of today and was just released. The staff in observation was amazing, Kurt was our hero. Stephanie In Endoscopy was amazing. The staff on the 5th floor went above and beyond anything I ever expected. Mike, Kelsey, Dr Shah, Bridgette, all amazing souls. I know I have missed a lot of names but I appreciate each and everyone of you for taking care of my dad. It was a long road but we are so glad to be home.

Terrible customer service! Rude nurses! When I went to the ER in major pain, after I tell them I m pregnant and in my second trimester and I experienced blood and I knew something was wrong with my baby they had the audacity to tell me to wait and they can only take me in if I m 20 weeks pregnant and I am 19 and 4 days and tell another person waiting in line to get in front of me knowing what I was going through just for him to get his prescriptions! Terrible experience! Will not be having my baby here nor be coming here EVER AGAIN!

I am giving this facility only one star because of the terrible customer service. It doesn't matter how good the abilities of the health care provider is, if the patient can't ever contact him/her. I have a wonderful fnp who works there but trying to contact her through the customer interface is a nightmare. I've never encountered a worse customer service system for any physician. One faces a long-hold on the telephone just to reach the central receptionist who then take your phone number and say the doctor will call you back. However the doctor's receptionists either don't call you back or try once and if you don't answer never try again. They do not send you a letter explaining that they have been unable to reach you or email you. They also will not call you if you have a Magic Jack telephone. Even when you give them a cell phone number, they do not leave a message. They have claimed they have tried calling me on the cell phone, but my phone shows missed calls and there is no evidence that this is true. I have given up and just dropped in to my doctor unscheduled to contact her because trying to reach her by phone is impossible. I recently had to have another doctor I see who is not part of Banner follow up with the lab on a blood test my Banner doctor ordered because after 3 weeks I still wasn't able to reach my Banner doctor. It's ridiculous!

Sat in a packed er for over an hour w chest pains and shortness of breath along w left arm pain. People were coughing all over me- no masks available for me to wear. Someone bled all over the floor in front of me which they refused to clean though multiple people requested it.

Three years ago I was here several days w penumonia which is likely what I have now and I had to file a complaint to get released to go to a better hospital. My insurance no longer covers that hoapital which is why I tried to go today.

If you are truly sick do not go to this hospital. It is nasty. If something is broken and you can handle waiting several hours to be seen and have a good immune system so that you don t catch whatever is in the waiting room with you, it may be doable.

Bad experience at this hospital. I had a 5 day stay. 2 out of the 5 days where not bad. I had a nurse that would show up to my room at 10:00 am and then would not see her again until shift change. I was on IV and an antibiotic that was supposed to be fed through my IV tube. When the nurse came in at 7:30 or 8:00 I asked her why she didn't hook up my IV or my medication. She said that they where all out of IV tubes and that I was probably drinking enough fluids and didn't need it. I asked her how she knew that I have been drinking fluids she never even picked up my water or checked on me in 8 hrs. There is much more that I could share with the public. I need to file a complaint with the hospital. I would never go to this hospital again. Never Ever!!!!

I went to ER on Monday because I couldn't put any weight on my right leg, severe pain in the knee. Saw a PA who said there was nothing they could do for me except Xray the knee. She actually said, "What did you expect us to do for you"? I suspect the staff thought I was a drug seeker. That was how I was made to feel. I needed a wheelchair to get from the car to the building. However, after being discharged, staff watched me hobble out to the lobby without offering any type of assistance. Should have known better to go here as my late husband went to ER last year with pain on his LEFT side and was admitted with DX of possible gallstones, only to be discharged the next morning without any tests. The gallbladder is located on the RIGHT side, is it not? NEVER going back. I was given a paper with a phone number for CORE Institute. A referral, I guess. I called and the phone number could only access employee mailboxes. Really!? Negative one star.

First, I am a 70-year-old using a cane because of a broken ankle.
Now, the issue: I brought my granddaughter to the ER of this hospital. I accompanied her through the ER and eventually to her hospital room. Then, 4 hours later (at 3 pm) as I am leaving her room, I am directed by the nurse (who was aware that we were admitted through the ER) the nurse directed me to follow the signs to the Exit. I limp through the entire hospital, to discover that I was directed to the Main Entrance, which is on the OPPOSITE side of the hospital from the ER. I ask how to get to the ER, because that is where I was parked. I was advised that "the ER is a bit of a walk," and to exit the Main Entrance, follow the sidewalk, and go around the building. (I'm exhausted at this point and my ankle is throbbing, and explain that my car is over there. I am told there is no other way to get there. (Not true, because I came through the hospital from the ER.) So I head out and follow the sidewalk to where it dead-ends, and I can't find the ER. I look back at the long walk, and I'm not sure if I can make it back to the Main Entrance, I'm already hot (it's now 3:30 pm and over 100 degrees, and I've walked half a mile) and out of breath, but I limp back to the Main Entrance, where I find the Security Guard and the intake nurses. I explain that I can't find it. They show me a map. I explain that I can't walk that far again. They stare at me, shrug, and say, "There's no other way." So, I go outside and sit for a few minutes trying to cool off. Stand up, and start hobbling down the sidewalk again. And again, I end up where I was before, no ER in sight. I see a large sign that says "East Entrance and Maternity." Then, a nurse appears from the parking garage! She leads me past the East Entrance, through a gap between two buildings, and there it is, the ER. I thank her and continue to hobble my way to the parking garage on the other side of the ER, locate my car, and sit for 15 minutes to cool off. It's now 4:15, and I figure I walked for an hour, over a mile, from my granddaughter's room to the Main Entrance, then around to the dead-end sidewalk, back to the Main Entrance, then back around finally to the ER.
My issue is not with the hospital. The staff at the Main Entrance certainly had no compassion nor help for an old lady with a cane and a broken ankle. Wouldn't you think that the Security Guard, or someone, could have given me a 5-minute lift to my car? And, since I came through the hospital from the ER, why couldn't someone have helped me go back that way?
I know discharged ER patients do leave back out the ER entrance.
This is ridiculous. I'll NEVER drive anyone to this ER, ever again.

Horrible, Horrible experience. My father has been in the ER since 10 am. 90 year old complaining of chest pain, and low sugar. It taken 2 1/2 hours before a Dr acknowledged we had been placed in a room. We asked if he could have something to eat seeing that he is diabetic. The answer was when we get his blood results back. But guess what the blood hadn't even been taken. We have been in this same room for over 6 hours and have made no progress...SMH

Went for a prolapse repair. Everyone was very kind and patient. The surgeon (Dr Wong) , anesthesiologists, and nurses all explained everything going on in great detail which isn't something you get every day.
The iv that was placed by the nurse, Mary, didn't even hurt at all. She was very sweet and very positive. All the nurses were just lovely and fantastic.
I woke up really quickly after the procedure, and was fully alert with no nausea, so the anesthesiologist was just amazing in my book.
I called with questions after I got home, and also once in a panic over something, and they took care of me right away. I can't speak for food there or being kept overnight as my procedure was a quick urogynecological outpatient one.
I usually don't review stuff like this, but I felt the need to with how my day went.
Thank you for reading! :)

I called the OB triage department to tell them symptoms I ve been having that had me worried. (I m 37 weeks pregnant). The person who answered the phone was not only no help at all, but probably one of the rudest people I ve encountered when calling a workplace. I even called back a second time to ask her name, which was Debbie. (She hung up on me the first time before I could even finish talking).

I m actually nervous to go into labor now because I m wondering how the rest of the staff will be here.

If you don t know how to be decent towards people, you should not be working in a hospital setting.

For this hospital being a banner medical center it isn't serious need of some changes starting from very top is absolutely unacceptable for a hospital to tell its patient it will be getting in bed and 5 hours later still having to wait for rooms to be cleaned I mean is it that short staffed. This is by far the worst hospital have been in I would seriously not recommend anyone come here unless you expect to stay all day waiting hopefully Someone has the Curtis you explaining why this is ok..I really hope that I do not get this standard response that I keep seeing another reviews I will be emailing the director of this hospital to voicemail concerns as well as whoever else I can get a hold of

Ok I truly do not like to point out negative experiences however something has to be done in this matter immediately!
If you have a loved one who is going to be admitted to a hospital for care and you truly want your loved ones taken care of and heard when they're at their most vulnerable DON'T TAKE THEM TO A BANNER FACILITY OF ANY KIND because they're not going to be listened to and they're not going to be taken care of at all unless you are going to stay with them the entire time!!
And I will tell you that it doesn't matter what your loved ones medical problems are this is going to be the WORST PLACE you could choose for your loved ones.

I'm usually a pretty patient person who has been in the hospital myself for a few difficult medical problems. Today and multiple other times I have had the opportunity to deal with several different Banner Desert Hospitals in the valley and I will tell you that I was both stunned and pretty mad at what I have found out by not only the Doctors at the banner desert hospital's but also by the nurses who previously had worked at a banner desert facility.

Today just took the cake. I was informed that these hospitals specifically release 50 percent of their patients knowing that they have MERCA. If you have ever seen what MERCA does to a human being then you will realize that this is UNACCEPTABLE AND UNFORGIVABLE especially when the prevention for this is giving a patient a simple antibiotic !!
Second issue with this specific hospital is the unwillingness of the Doctors and nurses who are supposed to be "first doing no harm" are not willing to communicate with the patient or their family. I found this out the hard way.

I will NEVER go to this HORRID hospital again. I've had more than one bad experience there.
They intubated my grandmother who had both a DNR and DNI simply to "calm her down" when she was having an issue with her dementia. They also did this without the permission of my mother, who had medical rights since my grandmother couldn't make the decision. They also claim to be one of the top stroke centers in the US and FAILED to diagnose the stroke that was cause from them repeatedly trying to extubate my grandmother despite knowing she'd panic as she came out of sedation. I mentioned it first and I'm not a doctor. As if that wasn't enough, they lied about a breathing tube being in proper position, and tried to make my family members and I feel guilty when we made the decision to transfer my grandmother to hospice. We were told we were giving up. A formal complaint was filed with the board.

Worst experience I ever had. Laid in pain for over an hour and a half before my nurse came in to give me pain medication that I could not take. When I explained that I could not take that particular medication she rolled her eyes and walked out. Dr Contursi did not care about my pain and misdiagnosed me as having a GI bug because the CT scan was normal. Sent me home unable to walk because of the pain. Left and went to Mayo Emergency Room were I received five star treatment. Received another CT and the correct diagnosis. I don't ever write reviews, but I feel that when the service is so unprofessional people should be informed before making the decision to take their loved one to this ER. If you do then you will be experiencing long waits, dirty rooms, rude nurses, and physicians who treat you like a drug seeking individual.

Update: Once I got a room, the care was prompt, the staff was nice and everything was great. Everything but the wait was fantastic.

I have been here, in the system, for nearly three hours. They have REPEATEDLY assured me that I have not been called yet, despite the fact that I've seen people who arrived with me and a long time after me put into a room before I was. I'm beyond angry and trying not to lose my frustration and I feel as though all I'm getting in response is ignorance or snide comments. I don't normally go to Banner Thunderbird and I've tried to be overly patient but I feel like all I've done is waste my time and test my patience.

WORST PLACE EVER !!!! I was supposed to get a BREATHING TREATMENT at 2:00 am I was waiting patiently for that time because it's very uncomfortable to sleep WHEN I CANT BREATH !!! So this pretend to be respiratory therapist came in and obviously doesn't know what she's doing. Turns On the oxygen then puts the meds which anyone would think the meds sprayed everywhere !!!! I maybe got a thirty second BREATHING TREATMENT WHEN IT SHOULD LAST ATLEAST 5 minutes ! I let my nurse know and said she was going to get the R.T ... ONE HOUR LATER I CALL MY NURSE She comes in saying that she spoke with the RT AND I have to wait another hour and a half !! If I would have never called my nurse she would have just made me wait !!! I could have brought my nebulizer and done this myself. 2 hours later I get the r.t very ignorant wouldn't let me explain what happened before. NEVER EXPERIENCIG THIS AGAIN ! Especially WHEN YOU CANT BREATHE !

I took my 2 year old son here with a fever of 103.1, runny nose, cough

We were there for 6 hours. They would not test him for the flu virus because he received the flu shot. 6 hours later they tested him for strep ( which he didnt have ) and sent us home claiming he just had a cold. The next day his fever spiked again. We took him to our primary care giver were right away they tested him for the influenza virus. He tested positive but sadly it was to late for him to take Thamaflu. The next 5 days was very scary and stressful for both us and him. HE had very high fevers, chills, body aches. He was up for hours in the night shaking and crying. This to me is unexceptionable. If the Dr and nurses would have tested him like we asked he could have been given the medicine which 1 would have helped him not be contagious ( myself, my husband, and grandma all got the flu where we had to miss work) and it would have made it easier on his young body.

Horrible and disrespectful, dishonest and uncaring staff I ve encountered. Not all the staff but most and the same at Banner Estrella! The cleaning people have more compassion then the doctors and nurses. Yes I am an as***** but when you make decisions for me without consulting me that s not ok and I have the right to be upset . Don t escalate the anger by calling patients rude or disrespectful that s just wrong! My mother died in this hospital due to bad decisions they let her make!!!!

Beautiful service taken my daughter there when she was only a month and half old due to she stopped drinking formula so doesn't get dehydrated they were prompt and attentive along side caring enough about the new mothers emotional condition and built up stress. Checked up on time, promptly answered to when ever and what ever called for. Couldn't have asked for anything better. My experience at this hospital was just wonderful. Than you all who helped me and my daughter there with such love and care.

Good luck with your bill payments only if you receive your bills. When we registered at the hospital I cross verified the address and everything was good. I was forced to pay some amount before my wife got admitted. After 3 months I was wondering why I did not receive any bills. I went to hospital and they told me the amount I owe and also cross verified the address. Everything was correct. I was asked to call to Banner Health Financial Services to pay the amount and clear the account. When I called them and asked them why I did not receive any bill they told me that the address was wrong. There was some amount which I overpaid in Mother's account when she was admitted and I was told on call that the balance due will be adjusted . This week I have received DELINQUENT statement and I am being forced to either pay the amount or go for payment assistance because it will take 2-3 months for them to refund the amount which they initiated today only.

The administration is very stupid as well. Feel sorry for anyone who has surgery in that place. Bed sores. Dirty bathrooms. Gross

This place will rip you off any chance they get. My wife was admitted for the flu while she was pregnant and when they were doing a routine test, they messed up and got false positives for bacterial infection. They made us stay an extra, which for us is another thousand dollars we can't afford. We called to get compensated for the mistake and they claim that since she was only being treated for the flu that they would not refund a single cent. Worthless customer service here. If you are pregnant or know someone who's pregnant, do not let them make the mistake of coming to this hospital. Even if it seems more expensive and time consuming to go somewhere, you'll be saving more money in the long run by not dealing with the incompetance of this hospital.

I had more positives than negatives. I was a little appalled by the welcoming at the admissions desk. The girl was very rude, wasn t welcoming and didn t make eye contact. Once up to the pre op area, all the staff was very pleasant and understanding and knew how to keep you calm. All the nurses and Drs where great. I was in a lot of pain and of course very out of it after surgery but the recovery area nurse I had was very sweet and kind to me. Once I was taken to my room ( I had to stay for observation for 24 hrs) the nurse was very abrupt and told me to get up out of the gurney and get in the other bed. I had just had my Ovary and a Mass and an Infection removed with 5 lg incisions in my abdomen. I refused to get up only an hour after surgery. I was in severe pain. They finally scooted me and even that was agonizing. Luckily that nurses shift was about over and I had a very sweet and kind nurse over the next 2 shifts. The only problem I had on the 3rd floor was everytime I needed help or pain meds I had to use the call button at least 2 times. Each time I would wait at least 15 min in between. The nurses aides that answered seemed bothered. There was even a few times no one even answered and my husband had to go find the nurse.

I wouldn t send my dog there. There was no therapy at all. The furniture was lumpy plastic, that is where you had to stay during the day. Couldn t watch t.v. Couldn t see the sky, we were subterranean. There was grass but we couldn t touch it. Passed out meds gave maybe an extra one and kicked you out with same symptoms that brought you in. That is Banner Thunderbird Inpatient Mental Health program. I pray daily that I stay well.

As a very pregnant woman, concerned not only for m...

As a very pregnant woman, concerned not only for my health but also for the life and health of my unborn child, I do not suggest that you use Banner Thunderbird s OB Triage Unit. I am a high-risk VBAC patient with reasonable concerns about my own life and the life of my unborn daughter Amelya.

On November 5, in possible active labor, I was sent to be checked for contractions and to make sure my waters were intact. I evidently ruined some unknown (as she refused to identify herself) nurses day by my unborn child being in distress. She had nothing but attitude from the moment my husband and I entered the unit.

The treatment was poor at best. I asked for a blanket repeatedly and finally was given a thin sheet which did nothing to mitigate the bitter cold of the facility. When she checked me vaginally, she only swabbed me for leakage, neglecting to check my cervix for dilation or effacement. This necessitated a second very uncomfortable exam as my contractions continued to cause me discomfort.

After being ignored for quite some time she told me an ultrasound was planned. I asked her why this was being done because I did not understand why if I had had an ultrasound done less than three days ago and everything look good with the amniotic fluid. I also could not understand why this was being done when my swab came back negative for amniotic fluid as well. She could only respond with that it was ordered and it needed to be done. I let the nurse know that I didn t understand this and asked why my active contractions where being ignored. Again, I got a response like I was keeping her from something.

This only served to aggravate me further as the contractions were being ignored. I asked this very unsympathetic nurse to please ask the doctor if this ultrasound was needed and as fast as you please, she tossed an AMA form on my bed practically daring me to object to treatment. I acquiescenced to the ultrasound which showed nothing out of the ordinary.

At this time, my husband and I began to seek her supervisor as our concerns began to run to the death of our child in this circumstance. My complaints were again ignored. I left the facility in pain and with the stigma that I might only be seeking pain medication. After speaking with a supervisor and receiving lots of reasons why I shouldn t be upset there was no resolution to the issue that my OB/GYN felt was important enough for me to be seen for in the first place.

Banners mission of breath surely does not apply here. I m still trying to catch my breath from the panic of the lack of regard for human life shown to Amelya and I. Even if the nurse did not care for me, what did an innocent, unborn child do to deserve her negligence??

I got admitted to the observation unit r/t to the issue that I came in to be seen for, and I have a procedure scheduled for 1230 in which I can t eat anything after 1230 so I ordered my breakfast at 0945 and the lady that took my order was terribly rude to me. When I hung up the phone from her I knew that something would go wrong with my food. It is now 1135 am, almost two hrs later and I still haven t received my food. I called 40 minutes ago to check on my food and they said it would be here in 10 minutes. So I guess she was determined to punish me by not sending my food. Now I m here with chest pain and upset over food.... my nurse ended up bringing me a peanut butter and jelly sandwich for breakfast. What a terrible experience, I will never ever come here as a patient again

I was seen at dignity health er and the dr called banner to get me a room ASAP due to my complicated ovarian cyst. My cyst is the size of a golf ball. Was transported via ambulance and left in the hallway over 45 min. While I was waiting on a gurny in the hallway one of the secretaries walked around me saying "I have to walk around this bullsh**" It was not my fault there was no rooms available even after they were notified that i was on my way by the other doctor. When i finally got into an exam room Ally the PA came in and said they were going to send me home since it was just a cyst she didnt even exam me or anything. About 2 hours later hersupervising doctor came and and said just to deal with the pain and put a heating pad at home. Said most women just deal with the pain. He didn't exam me either. They sent me home with pain meds and told me to see my primary doctor. I have never had such an UNPROFESSIONAL experience in my life. The last time I was seen in any hospital was 17 yrs ago. This place is HORRIBLE. Went to another ER was admitted due to the cyst rupturing. Banner SMH...

This hospital deserves a zero rating. As a nurse, I was shocked to see how my daughter was treated in the ER for an intestinal infection. Her nurses were rude, judgemental, and inattentive. She was given medication that made her WORSE, and she spent 9 hours in the ER before being admitted. Nurses FORGOT to hook up her IV fluids, both in the ER and in the hospital, and no one cared. They did nothing to make her comfortable. We had to ask for a pillow, and her nurse acted disgusted by the mess when my daughter got sick. The same nurse never returned to the room after that point, and we were left hanging for hours. She also pre-judged and made repeated accusations about drug use, although tests proved negative. Definitely NOT a caring or healing environment. We will discourage everyone we know from visiting this hospital, because NO ONE deserves such treatment. Shameful.

I NEVER write reviews this is my first one, but this place is just simply horrible. This is the second time I have went in to this place. First time my son was sick and this was about a month ago. I took my son in around 9pm everything was going smooth then they brought us back to the pediatrics section. To say the least I had to get up and walk out at almost 1am because no one assisted us and people that were behind us got called in first so that drew the line for me. To say the least I waited 3 hours for nothing.

I then decided to give this place another shot, on 6/11 my son was running 104 fever. I was there and checked in maybe around 930pm or so. We were told the pediatrics were going quickly that night. Perfect, seen a nurse that checked my son took his weight and gave him Tylenol. Once again we waited hours after being taken back. The Nurse Practitioner was nice, however the wait was ridiculous. Between seeing each individual that helped us that night was probably 20 min wait per person we saw. The wait times are outrageous!!! Long story short I left around 1am. Here is the problem, the lady Cassandra that checked us out was really rude. I asked to be billed for costs and was told I HAD TO PAY $530 that instance. I had paid $530 for Tylenol and to see a professional for 10 min over the span of a 4 hour period. Now I brushed that off, not a big deal I understand. It wasnt till today when I seen another charge for $550 for Dr. Tran which I might add I have never even met, pretty sure thats illegal. To say the least terrible experience's. I can hopefully expect someone to contact me in this matter.

I went to the ED today and had a very positive experience. The wait was quite long, I arrived around 3pm and got back to a room around 7pm. Although they were quite busy, it was apparent that they were doing everything possible to get people taken care of. Once I got back to a room my nurse immediately came in. He wanted to start an IV and I explained that I was a hard stick and most times they had to use the ultrasound on me. Instead of sticking me anyway like other hospitals have done, he said that he didn't want to put me through that and ordered the ultrasound. Again I had to wait a couple of hours, but my nurse kept checking on me and apologizing for the delay. When he returned with the ultrasound he also asked their best trauma nurse to get the IV and she got it in on the first stick. My doctor was also wonderful. He knew I was in pain and without me even asking he ordered nausea and pain meds for me. After my tests were done he came in and gave me the results as well as a treatment plan. He ordered more meds before he discharged me so that I would be able to go home and get some rest before going to pick up my prescription as it was about 12am before I was discharged. Everyone kept thanking me for being so patient, but I didn't mind the wait because I was treated with such kindness while there. Thank you Banner Thunderbird for taking such good care of me.
