Banner Thunderbird psychiatric ER is despicable. I...

Banner Thunderbird psychiatric ER is despicable. I was verbally abused my several of the BHT techs by treating me with physical restraints just for walking in the hallway. They denied me phone access for over 6 hours. It wasn't until I was hysterical that they allowed me to use the phone and only for 3 minutes before they ripped it out of my hand and said times up. The psychiatric therapist named "Angel" said that I needed inpatient treatment. I told him that I was willing to be voluntary in the hospital as this is how I entered to the facility. I told him my preferred hospitals if they had to transfer me to another psychiatric hospital but said I was willing to go to any. He contacted my mental health treatment team and lied to them telling them that I manipulative and defiant as well as denying voluntary treatment and persistently demanded to have me petitioned or involuntarily hospitalized even though my treatment team did not feel that this was necessary or even that I met any of the criteria. He lied to me, to my husband and my treatment team and told me that "my mental health symptoms were not appropriate for this hospital" Ohhh...You mean the symptoms of manipulation and defiance that you made up in order to control me. It sounded like the reverse was true that in fact he was trying to manipulate me and my treatment team into petitioning me. I was scared, unable to contact my husband and fearful of more mental abuse. I was transferred to UPC downtown the next day involuntarily by the police and was later that day released because the UPC psychiatrist said the petition was not substantiated. How could a person like Angel give an oath to do no harm and to protect and care for his patients and then abuse his power willfully and maliciously to cause harm? I was betrayed and it was done when I was the most vulnerable. This hospital is absolutely disgusting and I intend on reporting the abuse not only to the hospital but the department of health and human services. Thanks Banner for contributing to my PTSD and encouraging me to never reach out again to ask for help when I am in mental health crisis.
