Terrible - 50 yr customer auto rate increased 375% while in the hospital

Terrible - my mother has been a customer for 50+ years. AAA of MI rewarded her loyalty by increasing her premium from $112/month to $420/month while her car sits in my driveway. She has had 3 hospitalizations in 1 month & is only trying to get better. I called GEICO. They understood the risk. They are charging her $5/month by add the car to my policy. GEICO had compassion for the terrible situation & worked with me to come up with a solution

Overwhelmingly unimpressed. Beautiful sunny day, car breaks down. I'm given an hour wait time, get a call after 30 minutes that it will be an additional hour to hour and a half. Local tow truck co didnt want to tow our car the distance needed, so they had to find someone else. Waited another hour, get an update that a truck is dispatched and est time of arrival is another hour. We were not out in the sticks either, we were in Bay city

My two vehicles were parked on the side on my home and during the night a car drove too closely and scratched both vehicles from front left wheel well to passenger door. I called to make a claim and the deductible is $500 per vehicle. UNBELIEVABLE! I pay $400 a month and this is the insurance I get! Sickening!

My daughter who is on my policy, with her own card with her name on it as well as insurance with her name on, called because she had a dead battery, the lady said well you re not on the policy so your dad needs to be there! My daughter explained I was 2 hours away, and she is on the policy because she has the card with her name on it!
Lady says well I do t know how you have a card, I m only showing your dad so we can t help you!
Left her stranded until I told her to add the app and try that way. She did and the tow truck was there in 15 minutes to help and told her AAA does that a lot.
I m fed up with them and their insurance hikes for no reason, until I switched over my home insurance, it was a black mail!
They are screwed up! And that s being polite and trying not to say what I really want to say about them!

Attempted to get a quote, and was contacted by Candace Hines. She never did understand a question that I asked multiple times and then was extremely rude and condescending when I asked a 4th time. That was enough to show me their true colors, I terminated all contact. It all worked out for me in the end, Liberty Mutual was much better to deal with and saved me more than AAA could ever dream of.

Thank you, ANDRINA in the call center on Hubbard in D'born MI! So frustrated with a travel rep out of Florida named Ron V., who took my information for my itinerary then put me on hold while he put together my package. I was on hold for almost 15 mins before I called back and left a message with another rep to have him call me back when he was done. After 3 hours or so, I called back, got a rep out of Tampa, Florida named Lindsey, who would not help me. Told me she had no way of finding out who I talked with - seriously? Hung up from her, called again and got the lovely ANDRINA, who simply took my membership number and found out almost immediately who I had spoken with, their location, and the topic of our conversation! She offered to send an email to the rep on my behalf. She also offered to call him and explain the situation. I opted to leave a message on his voicemail, which indicated that he would be in the office until 6:30pm. It has been almost 2 hours, and I have not heard from Ron V. Five stars for ANDRINA for actually taking her role as customer service seriously. - Member since 1988

24 hour roadside service WAS NOT AVAILABLE at 10:30 PM Friday June 29, 2018 when my wife and I (in our mid 70's) had a flat tire and were stranded on the side of the road, All the AAA contact numbers on their membership card either indicated that office was closed or the 1-800 # gave you a recording and put us on hold with never an agent coming to our assistance. We have been members for 30 years but that may have to be reconsidered!

we are been dealing with AAA total loss of a vehicle claim department already 24 days and no progress at all. The agent Ruth is very poor communicator, seemed she want to do easiest way out for her-self "as less work as possible" absolutely not in my -customer favor , she hardly able to explain the process to us. We paid premium insurance for years for 4 cars and get such terrible customer representation . 24 days down nothing is done -no car, no settlement, no money -frustrating, seemed we been neglected for amount of money paid toward insurance , no words- just total disappointment .

WOW!!!! Under COVID, my home water damage claim has been delayed since March 2020. Now the new adjuster says he is closing my claim. WOW!!! It is not my problem that the other adjuster quit her job and did not follow through. However this new adjuster, CARLO, is doing everything to not cover my claim. I have been living with mold waiting for the work to be approved. I currently pay more in home insurance than to my mortgage. WHAT AM I PAYING FOR?????

AAA roadside assistance operators and supervisors have really gone down hill. Rude and uncaring associates. Just as long as you are paid up they dont care what the problem is. There is no cancelling the service. "You just let it run out" they say. NO REFUNDS. I talked to 3 different supervisors and have been a member in good standing for years with no resolutions. I would recommend getting roadside assistance through your regular insurance company. If its AAA, well, God help you because you wont get customer service. I will let it run out and also cancel my life insurance policy , which I've also had for years.

One of the worst Insurance companies I have ever had. Spoke with an agent on the phone (Don) about changing my policy (due to new laws in MI). Previous policy was cancelled when the new policy was generated. No problem. Which meant I needed to pay for the new one and the old policy would be refunded. It has been three weeks, I called to inquire and "Don" stated the refund hasn't been issued and he has no idea why. He then stated I will request a refund for you if you want? Sir, it's my money! If I don't request a refund where does my money go? He stated do you want a refund or not. How RUDE! This is not my first bad experience with AAA Customer Service. The recording states the calls are being recorded for quality assurance but I highly doubt it. I would NEVER refer this company to anyone.

AAA rescues people in distress. Stranded late at night in nowhere Canada with broken down car...AAA came to the rescue. Locked keys in the car and AAA came in less than 20 minutes and opened the doors within seconds..
For over 30 years we've used AAA and been amazed at the quick response times, dispatcher updates, and friendly, great guys who attend to our car problems. Thanks AAA!

Absolutely a horrible experience. On 11-12-19 I called for roadside assistance in the morning for a flat tire in my driveway. Unfortunately he was unable to change the tire due to no fault of his own but my spare could not be released from under my truck. Scrambled all day and was able to find a spare. Called roadside back in the evening, the guy comes out and changes it without any problems. Unfortunately driving on the freeway the next day the truck started to shake. I was able to pull off the freeway in downtown Detroit. 3 of the 6 lug nuts were barely on and the other 3 were very loose. I called roadside assistance back and to my surprise you re only allowed 2 calls in a year. As I explained to the operator that this was their fault she didn t want to hear it. I asked for a supervisor and after being on hold for 20 minutes I hung up. It cost me $75 to get a tow truck to come out and lift my truck and tighten the lug nuts. About a 7 minutes job!! Thanks AAA I will be cancelling my membership!!! 10 years a member with a total of 3 calls!!!

Then the driver who seemed to be avoiding finding me, probably they are paid by hour, started arguing that I did not provide right location. Had AAA towing for 20+ yrs., but now I am cancelling their membership. I am sure there are pther companies out there that value its customers.

They lack the will to actually help resolve issues, they do not actively listen, so you only end up being repetitive in your speech and they are way too sarcastic, argumentative and full of excuses. Don't bother even asking for a refund on day one within a hour of dealing with a call to request service, because "memberships are non-refundable"... Doesn't matter whether or not you are subscribed to any other products. I won't be renewing next year. Don't waste your money or time.

Don't rely on them to cover your claims. My wife was in a car accident some bills have been paid but we are waiting for others to be paid for months. Claims adjuster does not call back or answer emails. Also prescriptions that are required for her recovery are not being filled for no.reason. The auto accident was not her fault but we feel like we are being abused by aaa. Getting paid for time off also took forever even though all the paperwork was turned in. Is this how you get things done with another lawsuit?

Member for 50+ years, but it stops now. I'm tired of the fake rhetoric (your credit score is 'lower', we used your wife's credit score). In fact, I need to approve disclosure of my credit score (like last month when I leased a new car). I have NEVER had a request to disclose to AAA MI, which means AAA NEVER MADE A REQUEST. The dishonesty/fabrication is endless. Please get Dana Nessel on the case - there is an abundance of evidence, and this cesspool needs cleaning!

My insurance rates were increased 30% in six months, despite the fact that I have a clean driving record and did not file any insurance claims. EVERY single carrier that I called for a quote could beat AAA's rate! When I canceled my AAA policy they reversed my cancellation TWICE saying that their records indicated that I called to tell them that my cancellation was an "error" on my part. Despite the fact that their "calls are recorded for quality purposes", they could not provide me with any documentation to back up their re-in-statement, which, of course, I had never asked them to do. No one called me back to straighten this out. I was constantly calling them to try to resolve. My next call is to the Attorney General.

I have have had a few issues with AAA but none that prompted me to write a review. This review is based on their performance today. They they sent a tow company (Lieblich) to assist my 72 year old mother with getting unstuck. She had run over one of the large, decorative boulders in front of my home and her car became lodged on top. The driver came out and erroneously determined 1)that the boulder belonged to my neighbor, 2)that my mother had caused property damage and 3)would need to make a police report before he would assist. He then took it upon himself to knock on my neighbor's door to inform him (?). The neighbor told him it was my property and no need to call the police (again - this is a ROCK - on MY property). That didn't satisfy him, and he insisted my mother make a report and left her there. AAA was no help and promptly sided with the tow company. I called from work and received no help from manager (Brett?). I asked for his manager/director and was connected with (Faith?). Apparently, we had a bad connection(?), as she was unable to hear me. I could hear Brett saying "By golly I don't know what happened!". Fortunately, the neighbor was kind enough to assist her and get her unstuck. I will NEVER use this company again. I will likely switch insurance policies also. This was so unnecessary.

I cannot believe how these people market themselves as 24 hour roadside assistance. The couple times I have called because of car problems was a nightmare- first your customer service are poorly trained, secondly the wait times for assistance are a joke & the last customer service person was rude and actually hung up on me when I complained about the wait. The two times I called in 3+ years the first time was over a 2 1/2 hour wait and the second time it was a 2 hour wait. The weather was clear and dry both times and we were near bigger cities and yet over 2 hours to get help. Both times I had other people help me and didn t need your help because who know when or if they would get there! Worst worst worst service never paying for your stupid membership again!!

If I could give 1/2 star would. The worst customer service I have ever received.We waited more than two hours to have our truck picked up and towed. We were told we had one 200 mile trip we could use and would we like to use this. We said yes we received a phone call 3 minutes after the towing company took our truck away telling us that we need to pay 245.00 to pay the difference in miles that will not be covered. We told the company we would call AAA and find out why they told us we had one 200 mile trip to use.
Meanwhile they were told by AAA to drop the truck off on the side of the road with the keys in it and that we are not paying the difference.

It is way too many details to explain the hours wasted and phone calls along with having to drive back 60 miles to find our truck, we were already on our way home in another car. We have waited for a phone call back to have them explain what they did wrong. Think twice before you ever use AAA it is not worth the money or misery. They told us if you just pay the difference and upgrade now we can tow your car 200 miles, and that the first person we talked with was wrong with the information he gave us. Still waiting for a phone call from management.

You can call and get a membership for towing over the phone with your information and credit card, but I cant show my ID on my phone to a tow truck driver, what make them better then the police, You keep that money for the members ship .Yall will put people in danger

I would just like to thank Tom Kaiser for the great service he has given me over the last couple of months! I have made changes to my policies and purchased two new vehicles in the last month. Tom has taken care of my requests immediately and has even suggested ways for me to save money on my premiums. My wife and I have been AAA members for over 38 years and have always had great service from their agents.. AAA should be proud of having such a professional employee. Thanks again!

Don't waste your money. The company is now full of employees who

Although we've been AAA members many many years, we have not used the services very often. I am now in my 70's and AAA came through for me TWICE recently. Roadside Assistance was terrific. I did wait close to an hour in each case, but AAA was in touch with me and it was not a huge problem. But, what I thought was particularly nice was that when I made the call and said I was stranded, the first thing the AAA operator said was, "Are you in a safe place?"

AAA deducts the remainder of the policy, 1113.02 instead of 236.50 which is the correct amt. I have been left with 10 bucks in my checking and waiting for AAA to return the amount I did not authorize. Unacceptable!

I've spent two months trying to get my PIP coverage adjusted. The agent I am assigned to doesn't respond to emails. It takes at least an hour to reach a customer service agent on the 800 number. Even when I finally got an agent to make the change in their system, their adjusters failed to make the change to my policy. This has been the worst customer service experience that I have ever had with an insurance company. I'd give them 0 stars if I could.

Your company slogan and adverting is the complete opposite of what every one of your reviews say!

After my accident, my car was towed to a lot. In order to have aaa tow my car from the lot to my house, they needed me to meet them there to sign the papers and release the vehicle (common practice, I agreed).

They told me that a tow truck driver would meet me there in 2 hours.

After a 1 hour drive, 5 calls to aaa, and 2 hours after our scheduled time, no one could even give me a time frame of when a driver would be there to release my vehicle.

So a total of 5 hours, 3 past my scheduled time, they still couldn t tell me when someone would be in route!

I m unsure how this company operates completely on false advertising.

Absolute joke, the exact type of business who runs the market under big false promises, handcuffing citizens and similar small business in the industry trying to enter the market.
