I recently redeemed a gift certificate I had for a night at the Hyatt Place and THOROUGHLY enjoyed my stay. My room was quiet, perfectly spacious, totally clean, and fully appointed. We had room service breakfast and I loved my goat cheese and herb omelet. Highly recommended.

I can not recommend this hotel and chain enough.
The staff went above and beyond the help us celebrate my daughters 16th birthday , decorated our room with balloons and small gifts, cake, personalised banners !! Amazing
They upgraded our room and we were just generally spoiled !!
We even got a limo back to the airport at no extra cost !!!
We will definitely be back thank you so much

Update: Oct 3, 2020. The 2 stars are for the employees and the location. The AC didn't work properly, didn't get warm. I was eventually moved to another room. No big deal. However I was never returned the 200$ Hold on my credit card. They actually processed it and kept the money. Im a World of Hyatt member and I now have to dispute this with my CC company and World of Hyatt customer service. Who booked this stay with points only. I lost my trust now!!!! That's a way to make money. How about the people who never pay attention to their CC statements? They now paid extra for nothing. Paying double.

This hotel aka the Hyatt place is horrible. I dont know were to start well let start of with breakfast Which was included in my stay at this so call lovely hotel. they gave me only coffee and Apple smh. This is how you treat your customers who pay 200 plus ?? On Expedia they Post Falls Advertisements it said free Buffy not a coffee an Apple. So the room is not bad the tv have no tv guide so in other word you have to press every channel to see what on that channel smh. If you thinking about coming here run

Great rates for a great hotel. The beds were super comfortable, the rooms - while not spacious - used the space well. Service was excellent from the front desk to the restaurant. If there were one room for improvement, they will need to sort out the free breakfast - the crowds were a bit chaotic for the space provided. Perhaps have a specific windows - 7-8 and 8-9. Other that. That, I would gladly stay at the hotel again

I was very doubtful whether or not to confirm my stay at this hotel, reading the various reports, but I wanted to try anyway. And I must say that I have not had any setbacks or discomfort. True, the breakfast is monotonous but it is plentiful; never had problems waiting or finding a table, considering that I did it either at 6:45 or 7:30 or, on weekends, maybe around 9:00.
The room is not that small by NYC standards (I've also been to more expensive hotels where you couldn't even leave your suitcase open!). There is no table that could certainly be handy, and maybe even a drawer, but there are shelves.
No problems with cleaning or refurbishing rooms or elevators (all four worked and were fast).
Friendly staff, perhaps with the exception of someone who doesn't smile but in any case no one has ever pulled back when it was needed.
NEGATIVE: on the 20th floor the room was very well soundproofed from the outside, but the recirculation fan is a nightmare! You can't turn it off and I had to sleep with earplugs on, not least because I stayed for 14 nights. In addition, there has always been a cleaning trolley near my room, since it was in a side corridor near the elevators.

No breakfast, no coffee available. Rooms are one of the smaller ones I ve ever been but I guess for the price is what you get. If you re planning to stay outside exploring the city is Ok but if you re planning to stay in the room or traveling for business not a good idea having such nice hotels near by.

We had the worst experience ever in this hotel. We stayed here for our holidays in New York City. One day, the important medicines of my partner were thrown away by one of the cleaners. We had stored these medicines carefully in a small plastic bag which we had placed next to the tap in the bathroom. We went to the reception with this problem. They promised us to start an investigation which meant that they would ask the cleaners if they had thrown away a plastic bag while cleaning our room. After they asked the cleaners, they would call us back with the outcome. The woman at the reception also told us not to worry about this and that the hotel would help us with everything this will cause (doctor costs, medicine costs). Unfortunately they never called us while my partner really needed his prescribed medicines once per day! So, the day after we went to the reception once we came back from some sightseeing. The manager was present and simply told us that nothing was found and that they would not take the liability since the cleaner had told him that she did not thrown away anything. He did not have an explanation why we were not called about the outcome, it might be because I have an international phone number which they cannot reach. Don't make me laugh, a hotel with plenty of visitors from all over the world which do not have the possibility to call a non-US phone number. He told us that Hyatt would not take the liability for the costs since it was our word against the cleaners. He didn't show any sincerely empathy for us in this serious problem and called us implicitly liars about the missing medicines. He offered us a diner as a compensation for the fact that we were not called back as was promised. I became more disappointed and angry since a diner is not going to prevent the severe side effects of not taking the medication. It seems like Hyatt does not take their customers seriously which is a shame for a hotel chain like this.

Was reading reviews prior to my visit and figured that the low ratings were due to its recent opening (learning curve). However came to find out, its worse than I read. Hangers in the miniscule closet fall off of the bar (hooks too small). Floor was blemished with construction debris. No drawers (at all) to store socks etc...you have to work out of your suitcase. No tray to put your suitcase on--so it sits on the floor. Thermostat has a mind of its own..set it at 72 and it ends up at 65 by morning (with no instructions on how to get the temp to hold). Worse of all, they charged my card for my pre-paid room. I checked 2x with them during my stay and they assured me that it was fixed. It wasn't. Had to contact Hyatt main from home to get it fixed. Rooms not ready on arrival so lobby full of people waiting at 3 or later to get settled. Elevators work periodically and the staff is incompetent. Whew!

Had a pleasant stay earlier this year.
Breakfast was extensive and kept us full until the afternoon.
The rooms were always tidy and, as you would expect from a new opening, brand new.
The windows were well insulated so that you could sleep peacefully even at night.
Gladly again (:

Honestly the worst service I have ever received. I work in hotels and I would never treat my customers the way the staff have treated us. Firstly checking in, 4 people where standing behind the desk and not one acknowledge us. It took 5 minutes before we had to ask someone to service us. Payment was taken prior to our arrival when our booking was pay at the hotel. They explained that it was because they were over booked and needed a guarantee otherwise the reservation would be cancelled but this isn t good enough. Our 2 rooms are on floors 5 and 20 which is miles away as staying as a family and again they couldn t care less. Have not yet received a smile or any friendly service from any staff and I can assume we will not get any for our entire stay.

Avoid Avoid Avoid. Too many issues to list. Room that we booked one month prior not available when we arrived. Tried to check in at 2130 hours and finally got our rooms at 0100hrs after a 26hr flight with 3 children. Manager who was trying to help us resolve our issue had limited care factor. Lifts did not work - 3 out of 4 out of action. Room keys locked us out multiples times. Breakfast a disaster - minimal food and extremely poor service. Not one thing I can praise this hotel for. We have traveled to every continent on earth and this is by far the worst experience we have had. Do not book here.

Edit update - I contacted the Assistant General Manager who was very helpful and apologetic of our situation. She was unable to change the challenges we experienced but I appreciated her response.

The Hyatt Place was perfect for our over night family get away. Two rooms were affordable with teens in an adjoining room. The hotel room was clean, new and well appointed. The rates were very reasonable and much cab fare was saved thanks to the central hotel location. In a short distance you can easily walk to Time Square, Radio City, the High Line and Hudson Yards locations just to name a few. The morning breakfast was also great. Good coffee always kicks off the day right. The staff was knowledgeable of the area and friendly. The Hyatt place is a great pick!

So I paid more for the room that says with view and it wasn t any view at all not even partial view, only thing I saw was a building on construction we ask to change the room the first day to a lady who speaks Spanish and she said she will see the next day, so next day I asked another guy at the front desk he told me after 3pm that is the check in and at 4pm I asked to the lady again and she said the next day, so next day I will be out all day and of course they didn t do anything, our cards stop working one day and we had to ask for new key cards, One front desk said my room is the one with view because is high floor, hey the room says with view not high floor, that room is bad even for regular rooms I rather to be in a low floor without looking the building on construction, don t pay more for this room I requested before arriving good view even if I paid that because I now how this work, I would like something nice for my husband birthday and we only see a construction building and pay more for that.. never again!

I stayed here for 5 nights a week ago. Great location, very close to times square. Friendly and helpful staffs and very satisfying breakfast. Room was smaller than other hyatt place hotels but that was fine. But generally hallway and room were dusty, I could see dust particles in the air, that is one thing this hotel needs to improve on.

It's a lovely place to spend your time in NYC on a budget! The breakfast is incredible, starts at 6 mon-fri and at weekends starts at 7. There are a lot of options. All the people who works there are also so polite and kind, they really try to understand what are your needs to help you in the best way they can. It's also really good located, near by the subway and Times Square. They also have a Starbucks.

I booked a room with this hotel through Expedia. Due to complications with my husband work we were unable to take the trip and had to cancel. The management at this hotel was not at all understanding. They refuse to refund our room, and were very rude about it. Apparently you cannot be human and make a mistake or change your mind when booking with this hotel. Please be cautious. If I did not file a claim with my bank I would have been out $770. I am going to avoid staying at Hyatt due to this experience.

TERRIBLE. We stayed At this hotel for three nights, and not one night was the air conditioning working for us. Night one, we got back to our room and it was 87 degrees. They sent maintenance to fix it but all they did was walk in and say the air was off and to contact the front desk. So we tried to fix it ourselves and when we couldn t, we went to bed. We woke up at 3:30 in the morning because we had been sweating in our sleep all night. We were moved to a different room and the air worked for only a couple hours and we had the same unfixed issue. The front desk moved us YET AGAIN and the air was still not working. They provided no support for us and said they couldn t offer us another room because they couldn t guarantee the air in the next room would be working. EVEN BETTER they didn t reduce our fees at all when we checked out today because no one even took note of all the trouble with the air we had at this hotel. So long story short do not stay at this damn hotel. So disappointed.

8/8/2020 All I get to stay is one night, but I can say that the hotel is in a very strategic location, New hotel, well maintained the front desk turn to be nice, but I wish they been from the beginning less New Yorkers and to business and more customer friendly interactive, when I say Good After noon I expect a reply other than what is the last name, I would expect welcome to our hotel or along this line. I know Hyatt place hotel as a brand doesn't have much to offer Globalists but the least not a room in front of the elevator, and a room with a view if it was available. Your COVID19 breakfast was 3 out of 5, but neat in a box not a brown bag, wish gave it more legitimacy, and you user offering coffee, Milk and juices for guests to choose from. Although I believe you could provide more cerials and yogurt options. Other properties I went to would provide boiled eggs, yogurt and some time hot foods that get served. It all goes down if the property wants to take advantage of the COVID19 provide less service or put in more effort to raise above and beyond.

Is a great hotel for a city break. The location is great. You can reach almost all sights without long travel times and many even on foot. The breakfast selection is very limited, but the things that were offered were very tasty. The bed was very good. Check in super quickly and easily. Check out also great including the possibility to store your bags in the hotel on the day of departure.

Service: The reception staff were great at check-in. She was a professional and very pleasant woman and had a pleasant experience. However, the housekeeping man (African American) on the 26th floor made a terrible response, and was extremely uncomfortable. I wanted to change the towels, but no one happened to answer the phone, and the towels were piled up in the cart from morning till night, so I wondered if I could take them from there. When I took two, someone opened the door. He knocked at a tremendous moment, and as soon as he opened the door, the man yelled out, "Don't say a word if you bring a towel!" My family was asleep, but I was surprised and woke up. Correspondence that cannot be considered at all. I felt fear and anger.
Room: New, spacious and nice, despite being in the middle of NYC.
Cleanliness: No problem in room or elsewhere, but very bad breakfast room. In a severe situation due to the spread of infection, a buffet style breakfast was prepared as usual, but there were many guests, there was no place to sit, and many people talked around the buffet or waited in line. It was so confusing and crowded that you could feel the warmth of people's breath before and after. It's extremely unsanitary. I ate here on the first day but stopped going to breakfast on the second day.
Location: As the name suggests, it is very convenient because it is close to Times Square.

Took my daughter to New York for Christmas and stayed here It was terrible! Our check in experience with Louisa was horrible! Extremely rude even went into the back office and told someone we were annoying (which my daughter heard) I spoke to management about it the next day and nothing was done, said she needed to speak to employee it has been almost 2 weeks and never heard back. Also the breakfast was horrible all tables were dirty and a homeless person went from table to table asking people for money:

AVOID IF YOU DONT WANT YOUR STUFF STOLEN! We took a trip to NYC and we noticed on the last night that ALL our luxury bags and earrings were STOLEN out of our room. Also, the room was gone through, earrings scattered, and clothes unfolded. We tried to reach out to the GM and it was a nightmare. The communication is awful and handled so poorly. The hotel even went as far as to blame us for the items being stolen. Please avoid this place at all cost!

Though the room was small, it was nice and the property was clean. My rating is based on the professionalism of the staff. I called the front desk to let them know I checked 10 different floors for ice but there was none and the man insisted I go BACK down (from the 26th fl) to get some from the lobby. During breakfast, the receptionist had an attitude as if me asking for my breakfast was an inconvenience to her. Not only that, when I made a food charge to my room, she only asked for the number. I didn't have to show a key or identification. I could have charged it to anyone's room and anyone could have charged it to mine. It's unfortunate that a few bad seeds can affect the reputation of such a chain.

Central Hotel, very nice and comfortable room, the only big flaw is the staff. During my stay, I got the flu, alas, I had brought some medicine from Italy and the electronic thermometer with me. Given the inaccuracy of the latter, I went down to the hall to ask for a thermometer, they looked at me disgusted and told me that there is no they had it. I asked them for advice on having healthy food (since it is scarce in America) even in this case they have not been able to advise me, giving me a partner pub flyer that served there for the hotel. I hope that now with everything that happens in the world they are equipped. Providing assistance is the first thing for a client, especially when it comes to health.

I was very satisfied when I visited this hotel - the rooms were nice, the hotel had a good location just the other Hyatts, and the employees were very nice as well.
When we were offered a 'free' breakfast, we decided to take it and give it a try - the selection was wide and they had a lot of fresh fruit and typical American food as well. However, we were still charged for it - it was only 10 dollars, but when saying it is for free, I'm not expecting to pay anything?
Another complain is the Wi-Fi connection - I think it didn't work so well because of the amount of people staying in the hotel, but it was very annoying.

Very convenient hotel and great value for money. Good place if you plan to go out and visit most of the day, as rooms are fairly small and I imagine it would be uncomfortable to work. Breakfast was also pretty good and I enjoyed that there was a rotating item each day!
Staff were all really nice as well!

Disappointing. The previous comments are true: the ventilation (heating or air conditioning) is extremely noisy to the point that you have to turn it off to be able to sleep; cleaning is uneven and often sloppy (products not replaced, cleaning done poorly ...). The soundproofing between the rooms is poor. The breakfast is varied and quite good (with real squeezed fruit juice) but there are too many people and the coffee is disgusting. However, the reception and breakfast staff are lovely. The geographic location is very good.

Other reviews being a bit over dramatic. Brand new hotel, small rooms, but the value is there for the location. Everything is extremely clean as it's brand new. Check-in was fast a helpful. The fire alarm went off one of the mornings we stayed there but this has nothing to do with the hotel and has happened in other places we have stayed at in the past. Was given free breakfast upon check-in which was a nice perk. Would recommend.

Great location. Otherwise, this hotel leaves a lot to be desired. They are way understaffed for the volume of guests. When we arrived after 5pm (check-in is at 3pm), they said they had no rooms available, and the lobby was jammed full of dozens of weary travelers waiting for their rooms to be ready. When I complained after about half an hour, the staff told me that they were working as fast as they could, but that they only had 10 cleaning people to turn over 500+ rooms. Hire some more people!

When we finally did get checked in, they gave us the wrong room. We tried to move the next day to the correct room (we were paying for it!), and they said we had to move now, otherwise they couldn't guarantee that they'd be able to move us into the room type we had actually booked. I was traveling for work and had to be an a conference in 15 minutes, so moving my entire room "now" was not an option. I ended up just staying in the incorrect room the whole time, despite paying for a more expensive room.

In addition to these issues with the check-in and room, I was very disappointed to see that the hotel was likely in constant violation of safety and fire codes. They use the side hallways as storage for housekeeping wagons/carts, including the small hallway just outside my hotel room. This made the hallway nearly impassable. I stayed at the hotel for five days, and never once saw the massive housekeeping cart move from its place right outside my door. I was traveling with my very pregnant partner and our four-year-old daughter, which meant getting in and out of our room each day was a challenge. I can't even imagine what it would be like for someone who needed, say, a walker or cane.

This is one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had! Hotel lost our booking and had to find a room for us when we arrived. Then when we left they charged our credit card the full price of the stay even though we had already paid. Hotel management would not acknowledge they were in the wrong and it took 3 days for a refund to be issued. Also elevators were a disaster. They constantly broke down and on one morning I was trapped in an elevator for over 15 minutes. They dont seem to have service elevators. You could wait 10 or 15 minutes before an elevator comes!
There was also a fire alarm during my stay which was dealt with very badly by staff. Oh and the rooms are small but clean!

Very nice reception staff. Luisa in particular was very kind and helpful!
The location of the hotel is great, but room service is like playing the lottery. Something was missing every day, either shampoo, toilet paper or coffee. Unfortunately, the equipment was never complete.
The air conditioning (also used as a heater in cold temperatures) was incredibly loud. However, we were so exhausted from our long trips every day that we did not notice it after the second day.
You can skip breakfast ($ 15 per person). There is plenty of varied cuisine nearby

We were a bit concerned having read some of the reviews prior to our stay, but did not face any issues at all during the 4 nights we spent there. 5 minutes from Times Square and 3 minutes from subway! We had a blast and stayed there for 4 days for very inexpensive for access to everything.

The only reason it s a 4 is because they do NOT allow people to eat downstairs and there is no WAY you can eat in your room. I thought the manager was very rude when she asked us to go upstairs after she watched us unload all our food. The breakfast was a nice grab and go so make sure you DONT pay extra for it when there are affordable diners all around.
