We had the worst experience ever in this hotel. We...

We had the worst experience ever in this hotel. We stayed here for our holidays in New York City. One day, the important medicines of my partner were thrown away by one of the cleaners. We had stored these medicines carefully in a small plastic bag which we had placed next to the tap in the bathroom. We went to the reception with this problem. They promised us to start an investigation which meant that they would ask the cleaners if they had thrown away a plastic bag while cleaning our room. After they asked the cleaners, they would call us back with the outcome. The woman at the reception also told us not to worry about this and that the hotel would help us with everything this will cause (doctor costs, medicine costs). Unfortunately they never called us while my partner really needed his prescribed medicines once per day! So, the day after we went to the reception once we came back from some sightseeing. The manager was present and simply told us that nothing was found and that they would not take the liability since the cleaner had told him that she did not thrown away anything. He did not have an explanation why we were not called about the outcome, it might be because I have an international phone number which they cannot reach. Don't make me laugh, a hotel with plenty of visitors from all over the world which do not have the possibility to call a non-US phone number. He told us that Hyatt would not take the liability for the costs since it was our word against the cleaners. He didn't show any sincerely empathy for us in this serious problem and called us implicitly liars about the missing medicines. He offered us a diner as a compensation for the fact that we were not called back as was promised. I became more disappointed and angry since a diner is not going to prevent the severe side effects of not taking the medication. It seems like Hyatt does not take their customers seriously which is a shame for a hotel chain like this.
