My husband and I lost our baby Friday June 22 and decided to get away for a few days to clear our mind. We wanted a good place. This place looked nothing like the pictures and we paid $500 for what looked like it was worth $50. The room wasn't ready by 4pm not even 5pm for check in. The hostess was pretty ghetto. Her name was something (Shia) a very "unique" name to say the least. She kept calling the guy who was supposed to clean the room so we can go up and he wouldn't answer. She made unprofessional remarks like "I'm going to kill him" in front of us. She never apologized for our wait or told us what was going on. She just left us standing there while she figured things out. We got the king room with jacuzzi. The tub took about 45 mins before it decided to cut on and everything was Rusty and moldy looking. The shower head had what looked like mildew on it and the air vent on the ac unit was disgusting. The best part of my stay was the beach and the hotel doesn't own that. I'd never recommend this place to anyone and I'd never go again. Honestly, I wish we could get a refund.
This Wyndham was really run down. Rooms & bathrooms very small & were not very clean when we arrived. However there was a great guy who cleaned our room for us the next day.
Honestly this is the worst hotel I ve ever stayed in service is terrible and on top of that had to wait 4 hours past our check in time to get our room after driving 6 hours to get here and it s only the first day... 10/10 would not recommend! Oh yeah I almost forgot, the fridge don t work
Now to be clear I am not a disgruntled person who stayed at the hotel. I am a person who firsthand witnessed a family who was not treated well at the Atlantic Ave Wyndam location. The staff and general manager did not try to help the customer or when an employee went out of her way to try to provide good customer service- they were reprimanded for it. If you want to stay on the beach and don't care about the actual overall experience then stay but don't expect that you will be treated well if any issue arises during your stay that has to be handled by an upper management employee.
I made reservation weeks in advance, they told me that check in time was at 4. We arrived at 4:45, the check in girl told us that our room wasn't ready yet they had to put pillow cases on the pillows. So we waited in the lobby, 30 mins later I asked again and our room still wasn't ready, so we sat in the lobby and waited again. In the process of waiting over 100 military people were checkig out and other people were checking out as well
after they had just checked in. We over heard several conversations that they had bed bugs. One couple told us that they went into 3 rooms and they all had bed bugs in them and in one of the rooms it had blood on the wall. By now it's 6:00 p.m. and we are still waiting for our room. So I went to the counter to cancel my reservation and they were rude and still charged me 50 dollars cancellation fee even though they were infested with bed bugs. When I was asked why, I told the service rep because they had bed bugs and I had been waiting for over an hour for my room. He asked how do I know if I had never been in the room yet. I said I don't need to go in the room when I have been sitting in the lobby and clearly seen and heard people talking about the bed bugs. The other rep stated that she called me on my phone to let me know our room was ready but I never received a call from anyone, and why would she call me when she asked me to wait in the lobby. I drove all the way from Maryland for this disappointment. I don't reccomend this place to anyone.
Pay a little extra and go to somewhere better..

The checkin staff need to take a course on etiquette. The carpet had visible stains in clearly needed to be cleaned, the siding balcony doors need to be fixed and sheer curtains need to be cleaned. The bathroom sink is broke, kitchenette sink is clogged and tub is clogged. This is something that monthly or bi-monthly maintenance checks would take care of. Lastly, the first maintenance tech had no knowledge on how to fix the broken or clogged sinks, which wasted time. The problem was so bad we finally asked the second guy to come back after we vacate the premises. For the prices charged, the hotel should be at the top of their game. The restaurant needs to invest for more experienced staff, not high school kids that clearly don't care. The attitudes are bad and the tables and silverware was not clean. This is the first time we've ever been so disappointed when staying at the Wyndham. Going forward, we plan to rent a house when visiting the VA beach area.
Care more about catering to their private events. Housekeeping is terrible. Don't arrive before check in with kids. Your on your own. Communication between staff is not good either.
We payed so much for so little. Our family decided to take a trip to the beach for a few days, and so we payed for rooms that would most likely be closer together. Turns out, my parents had to wait until 7pm to even get their room, when check in was supposed to be at 4. We drove four hours, just to wait for that long as well. My parents were bumped to a different room on the 15th floor, and we are 10 stories beneath them on an entirely different side. When I called the front desk to see if they could be a little closer, they totally shut out the idea and refused to help. We payed for a room with a rusted shower, nasty stains all over the floor, dirty beds, and a balcony covered in cigarette buds. My parents room turned out to be much nicer, even though we paid the same (except they got a pet friendly room for the dogs and we are the ones with the brown stains on the floor). Disappointing.
If you are thinking of staying here to enjoy the greatness of Virginia Beach, In the words of Bryson Tiller, Don't. When I checked in and walked in my room a roach was laying dead right at the door. I thought ok it's dead. Scooped it on a piece of paper and flushed it. I decided to take a nap there was a crumb like feeling in the bed. When I awoke it was to my friend screaming because there were two very large black bugs flying flying around the room. They were seriously very big. We immediately contacted the hotel and they replied to call back in a couple of hours. . We stayed up and did so to which they told us to come down to speak, we did and they told us another room wouldn't be available until till 3 pm. We got all our things and put them in the car so no bugs would attach to us and left and tried to enjoy the beach till 3. 5 pm came and not a call so we called and no one knew what we were talking about or held a room. We immediately went back to the hotel and had to argue with a supervisor just to get a room with not bugs. We went back to the old room to pick up something and say tha house cleaning had cleaned the room however the two huge black bugs were still in the same spot probably sleeping without paying the bill and an additional live row had was on the desk. We left. Never. Again. So moral of the story, horrible customer service, bugs staying with you, and bad house cleaning. Don't.
Amazing hospitality from the minute we arrived till we left. I travel with my family and my father needs a little extra assistance and the staff jumped to help. Thank you. Just so happens during our stay was a Latin Dance Festival going on in one of the conference venues. I figured I was going to walk for a mile to find parking. Nope plenty of great covered parking, with easy access to the elevator. I am looking forward to going back during the summer and enjoy the Beach.
Staff is very friendly! Special Thanks to Ray G and Thad for going above the call of duty. This hotel is away from the boardwalk so it was very quiet. Just what I wanted. They are right on the beach which is awesome!!! Easy access! The one thing I was disappointed about was, I could not get any credit in my rewards account because I booked through a third-party, Priceline. Who knew. I would have gone to Marriott and gotten credit there, but I was trying to add to my Wyndham account. I stayed anyway and enjoyed my room.
The room we got was so small, you could barely get through the door. The bathroom door was also extremely small and didn't close. We must have been in the oldeat part of the hotel or something, everything was old. Stains on the ceiling, a piece to something on the wall came off and it was like an access door to the shower or something. The air conditioner was noisy, the beds and pillows are uncomfortable (but clean at least). No microwave in the room, only a fridge. The walls are also paper thin and you can hear everything. People were noisy all nice and everyone's door seems to slam closed. The "free wifi" also did not work at all. The pools are tiny and the second day it was closed so we didnt even get to enjoy it. The restaurant and food wasnt great either. The only nice thing was how close the beach was. When booking a room I highly recommend asking how old the room is and what floor its on, I would not recommend anything on the first floor or not in the tower. Yes their price is good, but you get what you pay for.
This is a great pet-friendly hotel, right on the beach. Onsite restaurant was great for both Dinner and Breakfast.
Was in town for a wedding, stayed on the 14th floor. Originally my room was not ready but they made sure to accommodate me with another. Great view, clean, very friendly staff. Would stay here again.
First, they double-charged us for our reservation. Then they put us in a dirty room, with spiderwebs, dead bugs, and stained floors, and even a plastic cup half-filled with old coffee left in a nightstand drawer. Then, we realized our room had no hot water, and it took several calls for us to be informed that they had been having issues for some time with the hot water in their rooms. Three days later, I realize they charged an extra $60 with no explanation, after assuring us they'd refund some of our money for the bad experience we had with them, a refund I've yet to receive. Absolutely horrible experience, I will never be staying here again.
I was at This called Wyndham ocean front Virginia Beach on June 21/2020 made reservations for 2 nights 3 days when got at this nasty hotel they did not have room available and it was past 4 pm and we got room at 5 pm and it was not what I was told the lady at the time I made my reservations when called front desk it was my worse customer service I ever heard, so I called Wyndham Customer service they did not do anything , there were no Towels, no AC working, Sink in the Bathroom Drain not working,AC Thermostat hanging,Balcony Door not sliding had to push hard open and the door frame had a hole with sharp edges easily cut your hand, Trash outside the room and also Fire Sprinkles all Rusted Dont how safe it is. On my next day requested Towels at the Front Desk at 1:45pm did not get so call Front Desk at 5:00 pm and the answer l got was YOU ARE NOT ONLY WE OTHER PEOPLE ALSO SO WE GET TO YOU AS WE CAN . So I had to buy my own Towels called the Customer Service and they said it is a INDEPENDENT PROPERTY THEY HAVE TO TAKE CARE OF ISSUES . So as a paying customer this is so called Wyndham ocean front Virginia Beach Hotel cannot keep up with the name THEY ARE USING AND CUSTOMER SERVICE WHAT IS WYNDHAM MANAGEMENT DOING IN THIS MATTER I GUESS THEY ONLY WANT GET PAID ON THE NAME NOT WHAT THEY DO?????. This is the worse Wyndham ocean front Virginia Beach Hotel I would not suggest anyone to this worse nasty dirty and the most worse management and employees in hotel industry . Really this HOTEL SHOULD BE CLOSED OR HAVE A MAKE OVER WITH NEW MANAGEMENT AND CUSTOMER ORIENTED EMPLOYEES.
New Years Eve with Slap Nation. Table 24 was a blast. Tisho in the Surf Club was a great waitperson. Bed was comfortable. Room was a little cold (thermostat didn't go higher than 71). A fun, safe, entertaining way to bring in 2018!!!!

Waited in the lobby for an hour and a half. They said they'd call when my room was ready (time quote was 10 minutes) and they never did. So after an hour and a half of waiting BACK in line, we re-checked in. The red headed front desk manager was waiting for us up front-Jennifer or Jessica- honesty her name doesn't matter, she was so rude. Absolutely disrespectful and ugly. She did nothing to try and undo the hour and half damage that was done. No free stay, no half off room, no refund. Nothing. I actually over heard her saying that the people behind me would get half off their rooms, however, she would not give me that deal. Even though I was waiting longer than anyone behind me. In fact, she tried to make me pay MORE money! And she didn't even apologize for her attitude or the wait. We finally got to our room, and there were no towels, wash clothes, soap, or shampoo and conditioner. We called to get those items and 5 hours later, after we called again, they were brought to us. Ready to fall asleep and put this awful day behind us, there were wasps and water bugs in our rooms!!!!!!! Thankfully, there is one good Wyndham hotel employee- tall, red hair, with glasses- who actually listened to us. He moved us to a different and WAY better bug free room. Overall, this is the worst service and Wyndham I've EVER stayed at. I am very disappointed at the Wyndham Oceanfront.
The best thing about this hotel is the staff! Very friendly and attentive. This applies to the restaurant also. Our room was clean and comfortable. We did not have hot water for a few hours one evening, but it was restored quickly. Bathroom sink was clogged the morning we left.
Had a great stay here last week. If your looking for a hotel that is on the water but yet far away from the boardwalk and people, then stay here. Easy beach access. Friendly staff. We had a room with a partial view and love it. Pool is closed but, pools every where are closed due to Covid. Would definitely stay here again
Beg bugs,bed bugs!!!! Don't go there!! Smells and dirty rooms . I regret having my 6m old son stayed there . We literally got bit for two nights and thought it was sand crabs.horrible place!
Room was clean enough for one night. Bugs were all over the ceiling whenever we opened the door, but not taking stars away for that as it was on the beach front. However, the room was very small and the ceiling was breaking up. The air was hard to regulate without freezing the person sleeping in the bed bear it to death. The tub could also use a face lift and a new stopper.
Go there only if your ok with house keepers taking your money and belongings I'm so angry poor service .
So after the bug incident we got a new room. Beach view is awesome . New room is nice and bar and grill is great... 4 stars

Pleasant stay after difficulties getting in. Booking site we went through didn't mention we had to be 21 to check in. A little bit ageist if you ask me. All staff was helpful, except for the front desk staff excluding the front desk supervisor and manager who worked with our situation.

Do not come here. The pictures are deceiving. The pool from the outside is open. But from our view it looks like it hasn t been cleaned in years. No microwave it included with the standard double beds. The fridge doesn t work. It is oceanfront but it s nowhere near the boardwalk ... so take that into consideration. The front office workers are like zombies when you re checking in. First and last time. Definitely willing to spend more.
I was shocked how dirty this hotel was. With Covid-19 going on I would think this hotel would be spotless. The rooms need to be remodeled. Wallpaper coming off the walls. Spots on the ceiling. Common areas really dirty. We did not see anyone cleaning the time we were there. This property gives Wyndham a bad name.

First trip to see ocean an stayed at Wyndham. Stayed in oceanfront room to get the full effects of the beach. There were 2 gentlemen named Mathew Lucas an Julio ( sorry dnt knw his last name) they helped us with what restaurants to eat at to when to be on the beach to see the dolphins. They are 2 men who truly love their job an it shows. I will definitely stay there again. Thank you guys for making this a vacation I will always remember.

Don't believe the pictures. We had a penthouse suite that was nasty. Last customer's leftovers in fridge, stains on all furniture, toothpaste grime on bathroom sink, mold in shower, broken outlets, broken microwave, dust and cob webs everywhere.
However, the staff was friendly.
My family and I stayed at this hotel for my daughter's wedding, which was also held at the Wyndham. The hotel is nice. Many of the rooms have nice views of the ocean. There is plenty of free parking. They have an indoor and outdoor pool, as well as a hot tub. There is a restaurant onsite. The hotel is right on the beach and has its own access. It is a short distance from the main boardwalk and attractions, but it is far enough away from the hubbub so you can actually enjoy the beach.
What a dump. There were cockroaches in the rooms, the wallpaper was peeling, and everything was dirty and out of date.
The staff are wonderful! We had a phone issue and they fixed it right away. The shuttle to the boardwalk was great. The rooms are nice but the hotel is definitely the age of the hotel is evident. The bathroom was not really cleaned but mainly just needs a face lift. And there is one shower/wash off area coming off the beach with no water pressure. The pools were kind of gross and several indoor areas smell of urine. It is a dog friendly place but there are dogs all over - and people don t really manage their dogs or the clean up. Parking is a little rough too.

I am never one to complain or make reviews, but this was not a good stay by any means!! The Room was not clean. The heater smelt like it was going to blow up. The housekeeping came to our room one time! Even when we saw them at the room next to ours when we left at 10am! The TV and remote didn t work at all. It smelt like mold through the hallways. It needs an extreme update throughout the whole place. The pictures show you this Beautiful place oceanfront and this nice restaurant with a bar and when we arrived it looked like a run down motel you shouldn t pay $100 a night to stay at!! So disappointing for a Wyndham. I would never recommend anyone to stay here. We will be making calls Monday morning. I couldn t wait to leave.
Room was great...Had a Fridge, temperture control, firm bed, iron & board, coffee, microwave available if requested..View was excellent..Chicken Alfredo was awesome..Not enough ice machines..Desmond took all my luggage to & from my room..Staff was very friendly..

To start, the staff was very friendly. They tried to fix my issues but althe issues were very inconvenient. First night I found bug roaches in the bathroom nd my toilet was running. Manager told me return to my room within an hour so they can send someone up to fix my issues. The running toilet was fixed but the big roaches were their to stay. A maintenance man came a killed the biggest roach he could find. I slept in the room but when i got up the next day there were roaches again and a dead one. Nick at the front desk was helpful, expedia returned a portion of my money for the rest of my stay. Thank God i was able to room with my friend.
Okay stay. Indoor pool, hot tub and exercise room closed due to covid-19. Room was moldy and dated. Ocean front view was beautiful and balcony was nice.
The location is Great. We book here every year becuase it is not on the strip and the beach is less crowded. The hotel is ok, its not perfect but for the surrounding beach and environment it is good.
Friendly staff. Comfortable bed. Great to have ocean front room to listen to waves.

My wife and I are already planning next years visit to Virginia Beach and this hotel is on the top of our list. Beautiful views, right on the beach, pet friendly, and walking distance to the downtown restaurants, win, win Wyndham! Not to mention connected to the hotel is a restaurant with incredible seafood. And if you bring the kids they setup movie night on the back patio. If you didn't bring kids, it's still fun to watch a movie on the beach!
Steak was fatty and crab cakes had to be sent back. Great view great service, nice manager who handled our issues with complete professionalism ad sincerity. We'll be back thanks to everything but the food which I'm sure they will address. Thanks Grant and Mary.

Stayed here last week and well....absolutely disappointed!! I gave one star because the hotel location. To begin the room look NOTHING like the pictures.. paying almost $900 for 4 nights 5days and the ceiling was filled with watermarks and peeling, carpet was nasty, dirty and smelly. I have pics soon as i can will upload them... of the bugs too! Sadly we had 2 vistors (Waterbugs) in our room one in bathroom and one in room and one dead one in the hallway... the hallways smell was undescribable. To say the least i spend the least anount of time in the room. I had yellow stains on ma sheets had to have them changed by room service. I would not recommend or ever in my life stay at these hotels. Sticking with Hiltons for sure.
Shout out to the people staying in room 415 on the 4th floor whoever that dude was nice job dude you rocked her world.
Rooms smell like mold, ac unit broken, stains in the bed, out-dated decor, bedskirt hasn't been changed since 1974.
Great beach access. Plenty of parking on site. Friendly staff. Rooms in need of maintenance with slow draining tubs plaster coming off the ceiling and peeling wallpaper in the bathroom. Floors were newer and great given the amount of sand that gets dragged in. Beds were really comfortable.

Started out excellent and friendly staff, very helpful. We reserved with Expedia site which was paid in full prior to arrival. However once we arrived we were told we would only be charged $20 incidental fee. Once settled into our room, my bank alerted us of the full fee being charged. We were told by the front desk they were reversing the fee and only a $20 hold would be on their by morning. The next morning a bill was slid under the door for the full room fee minus $20 incedental fee. Called front desk fhey said that was the correct fee. I then had to explain again, we paid in full through Expedia and this is an error they then agreed and stated they were removing the "hold". 7 hours later bank still pending as a charge not a hold per pur bank we have to call the hotel to remove. Called Wyndham, after being transfered 3 x and on hold 14 min. they stated I have to wait 3-5 business days. I stayed this is unacceptable. Receptionist stated, unless I call my bank to get a fax # to remove their error charge. I put Wyndom on with my bank and they stated they would fax it. Still waiting! Not a great way to spend your vacation. No apology and made this out to be our error when they made the mistake twice.
Regarding the actual place: Awesome location and views, however, the room not cleaned, sand in the beds under the sheets, bathroom not clean, shower head falling out of the wall, hot in hotel more than outside for weather being 95 F! Never booking with Expedia or Wyndom Va Beach too many errors to try again.

If I could give NO stars, I would! The best thing about this place was a hotel bartender named Tina (I think that was her name), who tended bar for an event held while I was there! Oh, and the dolphin sightings were great!! (Tina and the dolphins get the only star I have to give, but they earned it!).
Avoid this place like the plague! It is in DIRE need of a reno!! The tower I stayed in smelled like gas and the tiny, dilapidated elevator I had to take to get to my room smelled even worse! If you re the slightest bit of a germaphobe (like me), you should desperately seek another hotel or risk an encounter with roaches in your room! I went to a nearby WalMart and bought roach spray to do my own exterminating! Well worth the investment, since I didn t see anymore after that except for a dead one in the hotel that someone apparently squished!

The room wasnt bad but the housekeeper shouldnt be a housekeeper. For the price i paid for the room some of the ceiling was wet from looks like a previous leak. Toliet kept running and the sheets were nasty and smelled. It was convenient to the beach thays all that was good about that dump. Over charged!!
Staff was wonderful but room was quite filthy. There was just dirtiness everywhere. It view of the beach was gorgeous though.
Here for a week for Navy reunion with my husband very nice room wonderful staff too cold to go swimming because it's not the season 2 but really enjoyed it here I gave it a 5 because everything was very clean and very nice bathroom nice and clean the bed very comfortable I highly recommend this place.

Wish I could give zero star. Booked room in Nov. requesting furthest from elevator and highest floor. Arrived and was given a 1st floor room next to elevator. Walked in room to turn on the heat and was greeted by 3 dead cockroaches. Went to wash hands afterwards and found an open dirty toilet.
Called front desk to get us a clean room. Wad told it was be a few minutes. 90 minutes later walked to front desk saying we did not get the call telling us a room was ready. Good reason, they had not done a thing. After a few minutes he found a beautiful room on the 15t floor. Went to room excited to get some rest before seeing family only to find the heater was broken.
Called front desk again...sent repairman.
After giving up on the idea of getting some rest, we left with assurance it would fixed by the time we got back and was asked at what temperature would we like? We thought that was nice.
When we came back the room was a sauna. Not only was the room a sauna, the door had been left open for anyone to enter our room. The front desk got a call along with a piece of my mind.
Rooms are not in good repair. Water leaks were everywhere. The staff was great but the facilities had alot to be desired.

The interior was nice but not fully updated. The decor and colors just seemed a bit dated.
The staff that I dealt with were fine. It is directly on the beach and a little away from the main tourist area so it would probably be a better choice for easier beach space during the summer time.
Top of the line in service, with the VB ocean front at our fingertips. The room was super clean, as was the bathroom.
The only decent thing about this hotel was the oceanfront view. Do not waste your money on this establishment. The rooms are filthy.
