Never ever again, Overpriced dirty and whatever else you can name is wrong with this place.
The rooms were nice and very clean. Their was not enough toilet paper. The food was good and I loved the view.
The staff was wonderful and my kids loved the indoor pool.
Put in a dirty room that hadn t been cleaned since the last customer. Got placed in a new room and there was hair on the bathroom floor, rusted towel racks and sand in the room. Tried to call the front desk and was told it was busy and it d be better if I came down (from the 15th floor). The next day someone came in to make the beds and dispose of the trash but did not restock toilet paper or towels. The phone didn t work to call down to the desk. Had to go back down and let the manager know. He sent someone up with towels and toilet paper while we were gone but they did not take the dirty towels left out or clean. Horrible experience. Over $500 for two nights and it wasn t worth it. The manager didn t offer anything.
Very nice hotel accommodating staff and very clean and it's right on the beach
Great hotel, oceanfront with great provided parking, nice outdoor and indoor pools only complaint would be terrible pillows
Hotel was great. Great oceanview room on the 15th floor. Great service. Everybody spoke to you. Three request to our room were made in less than 5 mins each. Hotel resturant was outstanding. Told all my friends about it. Would love to come back. Only bad thing was the waitress took to long to bring our check at dinner. Very irratating.
My room (223) had two soiled pillows, one of which was visibly stained with dried blood. I informed the staff, but they did nothing. The tub wasn't clean, the toilet was old, the air conditioner was on the blink, the baseboards and interior doors were full of mold, and my wife and I woke up to an enormous cockroach in our room after our first night! Pretty disappointing anniversary for us..............
Attended a modern wedding venue. Hotel was clean and staff was friendly.
I highly recommend AGAINST staying here, especially during this ongoing pandemic. I visited labor day weekend and as a healthcare worker, I was disappointed to have MOLD on my shower curtain. When I brought it up to them they failed to replace it for two days. And when they did come, the employee did not have on a mask. I did not have towels in my room and did not receive them for two days after being told I would receive them multiple times. We bathed with hand towels, which is far from hospitable. And on the last day the fire alarm went off and A/C went out. There were roaches crawling in the halls and the microwaves were disgusting. I was extremely flustered because we couldn't find another hotel and sitting in 6 hours of traffic wasn't appealing either. I have brought this issue up to corporate and the manages asking for a 2/3 refund for lack of quality, mold exposure, and towels and they have failed to do so. I was told I would get a refund for the first day but once again corporate has yet to send my check or respond to my inquires. Terrible customer service at all levels and terrible quality.
2 words: roach resort!! my sister already posted a review, yet it was so bad that we need two. this trip was only booked to visit someone in the navy. when we were booking the hotel we called to make sure we could get a second parking pass for his car. upon the arrival we went to the front desk to get one. Alexis who was working up front was livid that we asked for one and after explaining we only booked the hotel to visit an active member of the navy she filled out a parking pass and threw it at us. the staff was terrible from the beginning. the most disgusting part of it all was having a cockroach crawl up my leg in the shower. we called the front desk because of this and they sent an engineering worker up with a can of raid. i went down to the front desk with my sister to talk to the manager Glen. he did not deal with the situation at all! after i explained to him what had happened and about the countless other roaches that we saw, he told me he would gladly check us out on a friday night during peak season after spending 5 days with them already. i could continue on longer, but why waste my time any longer on this place. no one else should too. if you re visiting anyone in the navy, you re better off staying closer to base where they will treat you with respect or in any other hotel closer to the boardwalk. spending a little bit more money is definitely worth it when compared to the wyndham.
Discovered stains on bed sheets and bed bugs. They could not move us to different room so we checked out. They charged us for the remaining 3 days we were scheduled to stay. They said we can t give us a refund.
Fot the money and location a good place to stay.
PROS
1) The staff from the front desk, cleaning and maintenance are probably the nicest most helpful group of people I ever met.
2) Great view from the tower.
3) Clean and organized.
4) Pet friendly with pet area and its CLEAN
5 ) On the beach but not in the craziness of the strip. Super safe neighborhood. Great for small children or older adults.
CONS
1) Needs a new roof, several leaks in common areas
2) Carpets could use more than a vacuuming, especially being oceanfront. But clean.
3) It's an old hotel who needs a makeover by professionals and not look like something I attempted.
Good view from balcony of beach, lovely restaurant and top notch customer service. Will visit again!
Great to be on the beach and away from the bustle of the busy district. In town for an Edgar Cayce ARE conference. The Windham is a good choice.
This hotel and conference center needs a lot of love. They have updated a few things but it needs some attention to cleaning, needs to repair air conditioning in the hallways (those were miserable), electronic scanners were breaking all week, multi legged critters were found and several rooms, very slow service in the on site restaurant and the carpets needs to be removed in the rooms they smell musky or mildewy. The staff we came in contact with were very nice but seemed defeated and frustrated. Wyndam needs to take some time to update this hotel as it is used for a lot of conferences and it's a great location! It has a lot of potential but it's not there yet!
Nice place, comfy beds, great view, and relaxing pools. Walking distance from the ocean. Overall great time.
Staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean with a great ocean view. Common areas were also clean. Semi private beach access.
Clean relaxing great customer service. Needed to use the business center and fax while i was there. Very accommodating.
Hotel definitely delivered on the view but not much else. Room smelled of cigarette smoke, bathroom smelled of mold, no toilet paper and through the duration of a 3 day stay housekeeping never once claim to clean the room. Don t expect any customer service. Do expect roaches. Don t expect an experience worth your money. Do expect to be disappointed. Will never stay here again!
Had to switch rooms, room was not ready when we got there
Our experience was based on an extended weekend stay and for the price we paid for this hotel room it was very overpriced. Beds were extremely old and overdue for update, decor is very outdated outside of the main lobby, towel dryer was broken, gym was out of order, jets in hot pool were broken, staff wasn t friendly, and hall ac was broken.
This whole hotel needs updated severely and for the price ($300 a night) it was awful. Maybe motel quality at best and not what we expected for a pricetag that was competitive to the likes of holiday inn or similar.
This hotel must receive an emergency visit from the HEALTH DEPARTMENT !!! WE SUFFER during COVID 19 and this hotel does not even have the basics of cleanliness !!! at the beginning we were very happy me and my little family to go visit for the first time VIRGINIA BEACH we chose this hotel and we had the worst experience we will ever forget !! the first day already we could smell urine everywhere on the stairs and in the elevators! we found all the aisles dirty with moldy smell! we said to ourselves it does not matter certainly the rooms are well treated and clean! but alas I woke up to an alarm clock that I will never forget in all my life! A BIG GIANT CAFARD WAKES ME ON MY FACE WHEN I SLEEP !!! at 6am in the morning !! I was screaming I jumped out of my bed in terror !!! I went downstairs to my reception with my pajamas at this time if people no manager available I had to wait to talk and tell what I experienced !!! I spent the whole morning throwing up !! I ADVISE YOU TO NEVER COME TO STAY IN THIS HOTEL !!
Nice cozy hotel with everything you need. Pool, bar, ocean front rooms. A good time.
Grilled chicken was not that great. Poorly seasoned and slightly burned. Not worth 15.00. Server was pleasant. 3 stars based on server.
March 2021- Filthy, Bugs, Webs, odd stains. PLEASE PLEASE DONT STAY HERE. I Booked, and once arrived was disgusted. I took pictured and went to the front desk. They immediately moved me to a "renovated" side of the hotel. The upgrade was much better, but the ceiling had a chipping paint, bathroom light was missing a fixture, it was just exposed wiring. Electrical unit in sitting area had missing outlet covers, it was just missing random things. It was too late at night to change reservations. I contact the GM- he apologized and I haven't heard from the establishment since.
Beach waves and all the good stuff nature has to offer, also not as crowded.
I loves it. Great staff. Just make sure you book the newer rooms. The rooms on the far right are the older rooms.
This is my favorite off season spot great location great staff
Love the room and the view of the ocean. Great location. Restaurant needs heip.two stars.
Outstanding guest service !! The maid service Supervisor, Chrissy, was so friendly and professional, and ensured we had everything we needed throughout our entire stay! She went above and beyond to meet our needs. We had a great experience at this clean and safe hotel with a perfect view of the ocean.
Not just a nice place fo spend the night, good eating there too.
Would have been 5 stars but the bathroom is pretty old and dirty. However, very friendly staff and very nice view of the ocean front room.
The only thing going for this hotel was the view we had in our room. The hallsway, conference area, elevators are a million degrees. Room was run down. But above all the customer service was horrendous. We left something in the drawers and it took me calling 5 times over a two day period to get someone to tell them they didn t find anything. Housekeeping s voicemail says your call is important to us...yeah right they don t return phone calls. And when I finally got someone on the line in housekeeping he said he would call me back within 30 mins. Never did. Front desk supervisor promised she would check and call me right back. I had to follow up with her 4 hours later. The staff needs some customer service training.
Pleasant stay however showers were very weak and the staff was incredibly welcoming.
Love this hotel. Staff is awesome. Always a great place to visit. Welcoming, efficient, great food, nice beach. Awesome
This place was ok, could be cleaner, but overall was an good place to stay...literally, right on the beach.
Excellent staff. We booked the Atlantic room for our holiday party and they made it amazing for us!
Clean room as advertised. Tower right on the beach. One problem; always had a good wifi signal but internet was rarely available.
Check in was quick, room was clean, outdoor pool is open it was nice. Wish they had the indoor pool open which they didn't really say on the website! And I booked a 2 queen bed room online but I got 2 douple bed, but it was okay for us. Overall it was good
Love this hotel. It is off the strip but close enough to take a bike ride to which gives you the opportunity to see the neighborhood and meet the locals. It also has it private part of the beach so you never have to fight for a spot on the beach no matter what time of day it. I almost don't want to stay on the strip anymore lol
I really like this hotel but they take to long to answer the phone and it expensive
Our stay was good.
Reason for 3 stars...
*Photos on website are not what you see when you get there...actual over all look, not very well maintained, like windows super dirty, floors need vacuumed, there was still trash under bed.
*pool was ok,could have been cleaner
Was not able to even use indoor pool or indoor hot tub, had not seen info about that on website.
*other than that the beds were comfy, staff was friendly, masks for covid safety were worn, and the BEST part was being able to walk out the front door right onto the beach!
*
Great hotel and attentive staff. As of recently the outdoor pool is open (indoor pool still closed with covid) make sure to book a room with a beach view it's worth it! The location of the hotel is located more toward the north end of the beach which is a hidden blessing, because the beach front of the hotel is less busy and more family friendly. Will definitely stay again.
Nice but definitely in need of work. Room was pretty clean, hotel itself was a little dirty. Would stay again.
NO FREE CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST! NO FRESH COFFEE! AND THE HOTEL'S TEMPERATURE IS HOT!
Pleasant. Staff was nice, as are the amenities.
The view from oceant front room's balcony.
I was waiting in a very long line for about 30- 45 mins to check in. Lobby filled of angry customers and no accommodations we made due to the inconveniences. The bathroom could've been cleaned but overall it's a nice room.
Hotel is a little dated but they are working on it. Hotel staff was awesome. The dinner at the hotel more than made up for the lack luster VA BEACH winefest event. Hard to believe there wer only two couples that purchased the weekend package. Would go back when they are done with construction.
The hotel is one of the best on the oceanfront! The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating. The rooms are fairly large with a great view of the ocean. The indoor pool/ jacuzzi is actually really small open from 10am-10pm. There is a restaurant within the hotel that has happy hour specials all week! The only area that needed improvement was the housekeeping staff, we had to call after 3 days of being there to get the room serviced.
I was extremely disappointed by this hotel!! We splurged for the night due to being in a wedding in this hotel. The wedding part was great! The rooms on the other hand were AWFUL! Every time we attempted to go to our room our key card stopped working, then we would have to go down to the lobby to get it reset. Speaking of the lobby the employees were extremely rude and did not care about customers issues. The hotel is also very dirty and unbearably hot everywhere but the rooms. Also we were left one towel and a bath mat in our room for two adults. For the price that we paid I expected much better! I will never stay there again nor recommend it to anyone.
The staff was very courteous and the catering was outstanding.
Rooms are good size and relatively clean. However, we had no desk chair, one sliding glass door was near impossible to open, there was no info in the room on places to go or eat. On top of that, workmen were drilling and banging starting at 8:15 AM, with noise levels above 85 db - I know it was at LEAST 85 db, because I have a bilateral 85-90db and I had my hearing aids out, and it was still plenty loud. Filth left all through the corridors the entire time. One stiruway was blocked with construction stuff - maybe a skinny 10-yesr-old could have gotten to the stairway, but anyone else would have to hope they didn't succumb to smoke inhalation while getting to the other end of the corridor in a fire. Noise went on all.freaking.day for 2 days (then we left)- not at all pleasant or relaxing in any way to have to shout to each other over construction noises.
Security leaves something to be desired - anyone can get into the parking garage or any floor.
Spindles for balcony are PVC pipe, not actual railing. I'm surprised if a building inspector saw and approved that.
The restaurant is hit or miss. For $10 for 2 eggs, and only 3 tables seated, I expect my eggs and bacon to be somewhat hot, rather than lukewarm. They have heat lamps, so there's no excuse for meals being lukewarm.
Overall, an underwhelming, stressful experience. I could not in good conscience recommend this place to anyone.
Great. Dogs all tucked in from a long day at the beach. Staff of this hotel was out standing. Would definitely come again.
Worst hotel I've ever stayed in. It was extremely dirty. Bathroom was never cleaned, A/C unit was leaking water, bed sheets never changed (they had blood stains on them), coffee machine dirty. Check in was at 4, but didn't get checked in until around 5 pm or so. No social distancing at all. lobby was full of people.
I will not be back nor refer this location in Virginia Beach, VA to anyone.
Pet friendly, off the beaten path, great friendly staff.
The stay was average. Cable TV kept going in and out. Beds were average. All-in-all it was just average for me. The only redeeming factor was the oceanfront.
To be clear, I've never stayed in this hotel nor seen any of the rooms so I can't offer opinion on the Wyndham in the meaningful respects. However, as a local I come down to the oceanfront as often as circumstances allow & I've always More
I didn't spend a night there, but attended a holiday party. It was nice, staff was polite.
We just went to use the restrooms while watching the Independence day festivities. The hotel was well kempt and attractive
Slow service in restaurant...it wasn't even busy!!!
Dont like how over worked the homekeepers are.. And rooms are to much
Very clean and beautiful views. They didn't have any USB ports, and did not have any for sale.
worst experience. they charged me card for again for the stay when i had paid via priceline, and wont refund me.
the room was very bad. had roaches in the room.
Location is great. Quiet Beach area away from crowds.
The Ocean right there at your feet. Luxury resort away from the Atlantic strip and the kaos of Va.Beach.
Staff has been great and definitely had their hands full! Room shows it s age and not what I would expect from a Wyndham property. Walls are paper thin. We were woken by a heated dispute on one side that we needed to get security for. Could not get to sleep because of the partying happening on the other side and the stench of marijuana in the hallway was insane. The hotel definitely needs upgrades and needs to be tended to. Beds were uncomfortable and the pullout sofa mattress is like a piece of paper. Will not be staying here again.
The view, space, friendly staff. We stayed in a 2 queen suite non ocean front . The view was coastal, you could see all the way to the Chesapeake bridge tunnel. The staff was extremely friendly. The pools and hot tub were well maintained and relaxing. This part of the beach is less crowded and I loved that they had 2 lifeguards on duty.
Absolutely thrilled with this find and can t wait to go back!!!!
