Can't say enough about the staff from front desk to maintenance to our wonder full maid Debbie.... All where wonderful..... There where a few maintenance hiccups but the hotel worked hard to get it taken care of and gave refund on some room charges, can't ask more than that. The hotel is on the beach with tons of people wet and Sandy everywhere, but I felt they worked hard to keep up with it... It's a normal room with a beach view if you paid for it.... It's away from the drunken strip so the beach is full of just this hotel and locals not crowed at all which we really loved... Cause that's why we came... To go to beach. The resturant inside hotel is just a big fat disappointment for food and drinks they suck and overpriced ... Drive away from strip and find some really good food.

We paid $400 a night for this dump- called the front desk in the middle of the night because of a barking dog in someone s room took another 30mins for that to be resolved. I wouldn t swim in the pool, it was gross as well and over run with people

The Wyndham Virginia Beach is off of the strip which makes it a hidden treasure. The location and it's presentation are perfect considering it's retro feel. The staff and banquet halls where very accommodating and fun to interact with. I would definitely recommend this venue to friend and family looking for a professional and unique experience.

Stayed 4 nights, saw and killed 3 large cockroaches. Bed was comfortable, room was clean but a bit dated. 18th floor oceanfront, two balconies and two fridges. TV was dated, no way to watch movies. Nearly a private beach away from crowds. Ample parking. Lifeguards onsite. Hospitality was helpful with towels and toiletries since they didn't clean each day due to covid-19. Would have gotten a 4, maybe a 5 but reduced stars by number of cockroaches. Get those killed, update a bit and its a perfect location.

Medium priced hotel for the area and we enjoyed our 2 night stay immensely. It's a little ways off the boardwalk which means the beach area is not so packed. There's a shuttle that will run you down to the boardwalk every hour, but if your up for a pleasant stroll on the beach it's definitely walkable. The staff are very friendly and attentive, the rooms clean, and the grounds well maintained. We felt very comfortable and safe here (some of the hotels we passed on the boardwalk felt sketchy). Only improvements I'd suggest is strengthen the WiFi (drops constantly and was weak in our 9th floor room) and extend the hours of the hot tub (we'really night owls and taking a late night soak with out all the kids around would have been perfect). We will surely be back to stay here.

Awesome front desk personnel, Russell in the restaurant/ bar made us feel welcome and we had a blast. Maybe at check in request extra towels and washcloths as there were no washcloths and only 2 towels in the room. We enjoyed our stay and if ever back that way we will definitely stay again.

We had a Double Queen Oceanfront (room 511) in what I assume is the older part of the hotel for the Labor Day weekend. The elevator was slower than the ones in the tower. The elevator and hallways in this part are not air conditioned but honestly this would only matter if I was stuck in it. The carpets in the hallways could be updated, but again it only matters if I had to sleep on it. With the sand, water, and dogs they'd look like hell again in no time anyway. The actual room was a decent size for 4 adults. The room was clean, the bathroom was clean. There are only 3 things I think would make the room better. Lower light on the bedside tables (those babies will blind you), tables on both sides of the bed, and an exhaust fan in the bathroom. The outlets in the lights are awesome but trying to charge 4 phones on 2 plugs but still have access to them didn't work out so well. This is a dog friendly hotel. There were lots of dogs in the hotel, on the patio, on the beach, but there was no dog smell, or dog mess, and honestly other than some howling and whining from the rooms as we passed down the halls there wasn't even dog noise. Being so far away from the hustle and bustle of the boardwalk may bother some, but for us it was perfect. The private beach meant not having a problem finding a spot in the sand. I'm not sure if it was pure luck or if it is an everyday occurrence, but every morning at sunrise there was a pod of dolphins just off shore in front of the hotel. The pool area is small and quickly gets overcrowded if the waves are nasty at the beach or the weather isn't cooperating. The hotel has a restaurant/bar attached to it. The food was fantastic, the wait staff and bartenders were attentive but not overbearing. Prices were comparable to other places we ate at in the area.

The staff at this hotel is impeccable! From the front desk, to housekeeping, to the van drivers everyone was friendly and helpful. Check in was a breeze, check out was a breeze. We stopped at the front desk on our way in from a shopping trip because we needed more towels they had them up there before we had our shopping bags set down in the room. My daughter unfortunately injured her foot the last day we were there and the front desk staff and restaurant staff went above and beyond to find something to put ice in for her for the swelling. We absolutely will be back!

Reservation for an upgraded room, oceanfront, higher floor. They couldn't find our upgrade even with my confirmation and ended up with a 2nd floor room facing another building. Lobby was dirty with dead flies on most seats and the floor. First room was filthy with mold, bees nest, food on the floor. Second room wax worse. We didn't stay. Staff was friendly and we got a refund.

Our phone in our room wouldn t call out, all the ice machines were down, we would never get new towels, the gym is not anything to brag about. One treadmill didn t work the weights in the picture they have are not what s in the fitness center. I had to complain multiple times about the room above us, I will say they kept the place clean, and the staff was very kind. The restaurant was good a little pricey but good. I couldn t see myself staying here again or recommending it.

Checked in and walked towards the elevator. There was a bad stench in the hallway. Got to our room and it was not clean. The toilet seat had dried urine and pubic hair on it. The pillows looked like they were used and threw back on the bed. I asked the front desk to send housekeeping to clean the toilet. We got back a few hours later, around 10 to find the toilet was not cleaned. We got moved to another room, thankfully "cleaner".
3 occassions I told the front desk of the condition of the room and the unresponsiveness of the issue or lack of it troubled me. Very unprofessional. Not once did we recieve an apology and a solution to the problem.
Also, there are bed bugs. I got quite a few bites on my hands and arms. They will not have our business again.
The one star is for the ocen front view. That was beautiful.

Everything was wonderful the only bad thing I can say is that when we tried to order room service we got the run around from the kitchen and front desk and what I mean is that the kitchen never picked up and the front desk never could get thru to the kitchen so I hope your not hungry if you stay here besides that great evening ocean front rooms are wonderful and clean

Crowded but not as bad as near the boardwalk. Overall a very pleasant and fun experience. Hotel staff were friendly and prompt. They were very friendly to our service animal as well. Room could of been cleaner after house keeping strolled through.

No air-conditioning in the hallways, our refrigerator didn't work, the toilet paper holder was broken, ceiling fan in the bathroom didn't work and the outdoor pool was filthy, both ice machines didn't work, one tv didn't work, very stingy with towels and one of the bed pillows had a horrendous odor. And to think how expensive it is to stay there. Never again!!!!

Don't have high expectations for this place. The ice machine on most floors were broken. The hallways are gross. The rugs look like they have not been vacuum in months. The stairway is disgusting. The elevators are slow, dirty and only half were working.
My experience: Check in as at 4pm. Our room was not available till 5:45pm then had to wait the 45 mins to get a dolly for out 5th floor room. The room is small and but efficient. Our AC was broken. The room stay at 81 degrees the whole evening. We flipped back the sheet after a long 9 hour drive to find blood stains comforter. Blood on the toilet paper roll in the bathroom.. I called the front desk but no manager but no one returned my call. So around 4 am I went to the lobby and talked to the manager on duty. He upgraded our room to an ocean front. He assured me that at 7am I would get a call to move rooms. Well by 9:15am I grew inpatient and again went to the front lobby. I spoke to the supervisor on duty. I explained the situation and she did say she would discount the room for the 1st night. I asked to have my room comp for the night or an extra night added to the end of my stay. She refused and said she would discount my room. I asked for 50%. She said she would handle it. BTW she discounted the room -$15.00.
We went to out new room with the view. Walk in the place smell like cigarettes. We turn the AC on to cool room to in hoped the smell would go away. Nope. Next, we open the door to the balcony. The view is amazing however, only to have the neighbors dog barking on the balcony. Yeah...They allowed pets. The rep told me when booking that the animals are only on certain lower floors. Nope, they were over booked and they were on every floor. We seen dogs pee on the floor and in corners.
The next day maintenance had to come to service the AC because it was leaking into the room below us. We had 4 people in our room for over an hour. They finally left but the floor was wet for the remainder of our trip.
The staff is ok. . I feel sorry for them having to work in those conditions. Poor service from the manager. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere.

The ice maker didn't work on the floor I stayed on, also the tub and shower fixtures need to be replaced. My room didn't have a clock radio either. Overall the entire hotel needs to be remodeled.

Stayed in room 118 on 08/28-29 the worst experience ever. Checked in at 9pm with my wife when we came into the room there was no toilet paper and I had to call the front desk for someone to bring us some. The AC, the coffee machine, and the refrigerator is not not working, worst of all flies all over the place and the smell in the room was horrendous. Called the front desk on 08/29 around 12pm the lady was rude the manager Nicky did not want to accommodate us by changing us to a different room with a working AC all she said was we will call maintenance and if you want to change to a different room there will be an up charge. Incredible the place is not what I expected it to be and the least that Nicky could have done was accommodate us to another room especially after spending 489.54 for two nights. It is now 10pm we went out hoping that by the time we came back the AC would be fixed and it is not. I understand that due to the pandemic they cut back on many things but if that is the case they should not be charging what they are to be staying here and they should be giving back refunds instead of just apologizing.

We said something 3 times , we kept getting the same default answers I can have Maintenance spray the room and you ll need to be out for 30 minutes

after patiently waiting 7hours to check in I arrived and proceeded to check in. During the check in I asked was it a normal process to make guest wait 7 hours to check in. The front desk clerk Tee responded no you just have to pay an additional $25. Tee co-worker Donna was present during the check out and told me earlier that day I would have to pay for an additional day in order to check in. I immediately asked for the manager. While talking to Melissa Perry the general manager she immediately took offense. They were obviously waiting my arrival. She canceled a non-cancelable reservation and left my guest and I stranded. Then Tee the front desk clerk called the police on me. Under duress I left and called the booking office to find out that they had not and could not cancel the reservation. When I left my guest left his phone in the rush. When we retreived the phone back from front desk clerk Tee all of the pictures and text and videos from the day were deleted from the phone. Not only did i have to pay for another hotel they charged me for the stay plus an additional $50. 3 hours later and numerous calles to the booking office I finally canceled the stay eventhough they gave me a receipt stating it was canceled. In all efforts to ruin my vacation with their vindictive staff I would not suggest lodging here.

I come here every year for a conference which is held at this location. And every year it seems to get worse. Made a reservation two months beforehand ask for double beds and only got one king. Microwave didn't work . Ice machine didn't work drinks in vending machine were hot. Hot tub out of order. Room was filthy. Restaurant went in to eat for 2 they asked could they set us with strangers...of course not I said 10 minutes later they set 2 people we didn't even know with us. Management didn't seem to care when I voiced my opinion.

The staff and service was very nice but the hotel is old, moldy and run down. My room shower was stopped up, there was paint peeling from the ceiling and the maids did not clean very well. Attempted to change rooms but was told they were booked. Very surprised at the low quality of the rooms as I have stayed at several Wyndham locations.

Been a few weeks since my friend is still waiting to hear back from someone, but haven't heard a word from the owner or any managers ect. Been a bad experience all around..

My friend and I are on our last night here currently. There are dead bugs all around our room, there is a spider web WITH a spider (ive named him Fred) right next to the bed. There wasn't any towels or tp in the bathroom. The halls constantly smell like weed but no one wants to share :/ there is not a microwave and the fridge barely gets cold enough to make a difference. Our sliding door is EXTREMELY hard to slide open and the room reeks of cigarettes. Also we called ahead of time to ask about the pool and hot tub and they told us they were open and apon arrival we find out its closed! The building itself is really dirty alot of the doors are broken and only open half way. Most of the hallways to the vending machines are something out of a horror movie, like half of the building doesn't even look like the rooms are in use ( the hall our room is down especially)

My friends thinks I should add that I woke up with little bumps on my feet from something biting me. YIKES (not positive its from here but I wouldn't be surprised since there is a spider half a foot from me as I type this)

Edit: I forgot to mention that the check in took forever and wasn't very welcoming and that the bathroom ceiling drips yellowish water. The elevator broke earlier today and the people in it had to jump out of it while it was stuck between two floors. And i forgot to mention that there was trash from the previous people around and under the bed.

Overall not worth the money we spent and were extremely disappointed, but we won't get refunded. But atleast its on the beach right? Right??

The hotel is located in a very residential area, there are no other amenities within walking distance of the hotel. The beach is comparatively empty in front of the hotel. Many of the rooms are beach front. Our room was a typical beach hotel room. It was kind of small, and the bathrooms were small as well. Everything was clean. And the hotel staff were very down to earth and accommodating.

10/10 would NOT recommend. My first thought when I got there was that I must be in a homeless shelter because of all the people sleeping on the floor or on seats with their luggage around them. Was this supposed to be a hotel? Why weren't they in rooms? Later I saw one of them try to kill himself because of his dissatisfaction with the service. He kept running into the ocean in a full suit saying not to stop him because the Wyndham would help him. Sadly this was at 1pm and the Wyndham could not get to him until 8pm which was 7 hours too late to save his life.

DO NOT STAY HERE! My husband and I used our rewards points to stay for one night for free. They charged my card $122 total, but told me I would receive the money back as long as the room was not messed up and I didn't charge anything to room service. I went to the bank today to ask for them to remove the hold from my account, and instead of putting on a temporary hold, the hotel had charged me. I called to have it worked out, and I've spoken to five separate employees all of who say that they are very sorry but unable to help me, than transfer me to someone else. I have spoken to managers, customer service at corporate and desk employees, they have admitted that they are wrong but have not refunding me my money.

Don't trust these guys- I have been lied to by multiple employees at this point and scammed. Hopefully my banks' fraud department takes care of this quickly because I need to put gas in my car and food on my table.

I would not recommend this hotel. First impression of the Wyndham premium oceanfront suite is filthy, unkempt with sand all over the floors, dirty bathrooms, leaky mini fridge, cracked ceiling and overall rundown appearance. For the price, you could have free breakfast and a nicer/cleaner room at so many other options on the boardwalk. I left two stars because I m close to the beach but other than that my lesson is learned.

I went to the Wyndham for the wedding of a family friend. The wedding was BEAUTIFUL!!!! The hotel was not. I am handicapped and I had a horrendous time getting around. Transitions from doorways were not wheelchair accessible. Also no chairs or benches near the elevators not to mention the hallways were very hot. The baseboards in my room were falling off of the wall and it was either paint chipping or mold on the ceiling near the balcony. I ordered breakfast from room service (french toast) and received a spoon and knife for my utensils. No fork. My father had no washcloths or towels when he entered his room. Thank goodness we had enough to share as the front desk said they had no more washcloths.I would not stay there again nor would I recommend it to anyone. Have to up the handicapped accessibility

Wyndham, Virginia Beach -- The front desk folks were very nice at the time of check-in. The hotel is old and in need of remodeling. We knew that going into it based on other reviews, which is why we elected to use points v/s cash for the room. Had I paid for the room, I would have requested a refund and found another hotel for the night.

In the words of Paul Harvey For the rest of the story. What we were not prepared for was the uncleanness of the hotel and the rooms. What we found very unusual was that the flat sheet was on the outside of the comforter. There was no flat sheet under the comforter for sleeping. At bedtime, we changed the sheet out only to find that while Wyndham states they dry clean the comforters every time someone check outs, is a complete and utter lie. The comforter was stained but more importantly, it was still dirty with from the previous occupant s food. It was DISGUSTING! Head into the bathroom and there is dirt accumulated under the sink, the shower curtain was stained, the ventilation fan did not work, the lights above the mirror were out, the electrical sockets were so work that the curling iron would not stay in. In addition, the wall mirror and TV were so smeared that it was difficult to see either the TV or yourself. There was a large gap at the sliding glass door so be prepared for bugs. Finally, we had our grandson with us, so we called down for an extra towel and wash cloth, which we never did receive. The one positive, breakfast was very good compared to what we expected. Would never stay there again!

Our actual rating = 2.5, but since that was not possible, we rated up to 3.0. Our 4-night stay in an oceanfront room at the Wyndham VA Beach Oceanfront Hotel was our second stay at a Wyndham. We had limited booking options and because we had an extremely positive experience previously at the first Wyndham, which is what led us (and our friends, another couple) to try this one for a birthday getaway. PROS: 1) Front desk team, housekeeping, and other staff moving about the property day/night were all very friendly and accommodating; 2) Beach was vast, clean, not crowded, and remotely located away from the boardwalk hustle and bustle, which we enjoyed; 3) While we didn't have our pet with us, its pet friendliness was reflected in the many dogs guided by owners around the hotel and on the beach. 4) Finding the entrance for check-in was a bit confusing at first, but parking was always available.

Note that we've stayed in hotels in many different places, but for daily rates and fees, this one is likely the most disappointing, and it is likely that we will not return. 1) Hotel's common areas (e.g., room doors, hallway carpet and wall corners) and our room's, wall/floor corners and cracks crevices, windows were dusty/dirty; 2) Our hotel hallway was not air conditioned and carpet looked dirty; 3) Bed sheets looked worn and beds did not look pristine or freshly or well made each day (in fact my husband remade our bed because the sheet was put on top of the comforter x2!); 4) Bathroom tub looked stained and dirty - perhaps due to being so old and used; 5) On day 3, it was on us to request fresh towels (and tissue); 6) Room air conditioning unit worked fine, but balcony side looked horribly dusty and grungy like it had never been cleaned, balcony chairs were dusty, so we chose not to sit on our oceanfront balcony. At one point, I spoke to the Housekeeping Manager and asked that our dirty sliding glass door be cleaned. He promptly asked our housekeeping staff to do so, which helped our oceanfront view. 7) The cabinet door to the refrig was off the hinge and inside drawers were dusty and top clothes hanging racks were rusty. There was so much to be done to make the hotel and our room brighter and cleaner that we chose not to complain about everything. Seems to be an older hotel and really needs an upgrade and a MAJOR detailed, serious dusting and cleaning with someone going room-to-room to inspect for quality assurance. I disinfected/cleaned everything before unpacking. The other couple that came with us, too, had several similar frustrations some of which they discussed with the Housekeeping Manager. On a positive note, if you decide to stay at this Wyndham and have concerns, then you can consider contacting the Housekeeping Manager, and if it's the same person with whom we spoke, he will likely be kind and will do what he can to address your concerns.

So..we arrive at the hotel late at night and see parking is packed and narrow. Issue #1.
Issue 2: Walking thru the lobby, looks nothing at all like the picture. This place seriously needs renovation. The lobby is hideous and dingy.
Issue 3: The outdoor pool is out of order and we were not forewarned by reservations. Had we known ahead of time, we wouldve booked another hotel for a weekend stay. I prefer a pool over swimming at the beach.
Issue 4: The woman at the desk claims she had no knowledge of the outdoor pools out of order sign. Has no clue when it will be back in service.
Issue 5: People do not be deceived by any of the photos, this place is a joke! I DO NOT RECOMMEND STAYING HERE! Indoor pool doesnt look like it can hold more than 15 people at a time. Look at the picture closely. It is NOT your typical indoor pool size.
Issue 6: The rickety old elevator can only hold approx. 4 people comfortably travelling with luggage. Thats for the smaller building quarters.
But on a good note, the room is spacious as well as the balcony space facing the ocean. That is the only good point here!
Issue 7: The bathroom is small, dingy and has no fan for ventilation. You need shower shoes om to strp in the tub. The entire room can use a deep disinfectant cleaning.
Issue 8: This place is not worth the cost. Its over priced and no where near a 3,4 or 5 star hotel.
Issue 9: You get a little rinky dink 19 TV. Who does that? I feel more like im in a college dorm rather than a hotel. I am extremely disappointed in this place, but will make the best of it.
Issue 10: You do not want to know what housekeeping room looks like. It was found on the side of the ice machine. First let me tell ya, the blinds were broken, the room smelled pissy, sheets on the floor and just a very dirty room.
Issue 11: My guess is The AC unit probably has never been cleaned. There is a buildup of guke on the vents so the room doesnt get cold.
Need I say more! Heed this review, do yourself a hugh favor and stay somewhere else. If i can give this hotel a -5 rating trust me thats what it will be.

Ps. Whomever responds to these reviews, Please do not reply back with sorry your stay wasnt satisfactory. Keep your comments about your shuttle service, or oceanfront views i could careless! Point is the price i paid to stay here, was not worth it! The only thing you can do or say is to refund my money!

Update: After housekeeping came they half cleaned the room and did not give us fresh towels. Ergo, we checked out of there and in a much better hotel.

The staff was friendly and room was extra clean. We were even given a free upgrade to a nicer room since it was off season and the hotel wasn't very busy. We attended a wedding and the venue and catering staff were excellent.

The place looks really nice but they said they have one person cleaning the all the rooms me and my family have been waiting 3pm-7:00pm now we were told it would be ready at 4:00pm. you have a huge hotel on the ocean front and no workers? You can t call anyone in or hire more people? This place is a joke almost $800 for 3 nights and you can t even get in!! Also told over the phone was told the pool was open when we get her there was a paper saying it is closed on the front desk! When we were on the phone also learned we weren t on the phone with the hotel we were on the phone with a 3rd party got our room and the next day started getting alerts that people were trying to get into the account we used they sold our information I would not recommend to anyone! I ve spent less and got more than this.

Problems: A/C filthy, dirty and full of mold (room stinks like a cellar). Shower knob falling off, one electric switch not working, toilet flush valve very old so leaking and not closing completely. We clean the AC and fix toilet valve and shower knob :) youre welcome. The guy at the front desk didn't give us wifi pasword and set the keys to the room one day shorter than our stay (few minutes of wondering what happened to our luggage). Jacuzzi is a hot tub, "jets not working since ever"(employee sentence). Guest laundry bottom dryer not working, middle elevator not working. Palm trees- all dead (bad winter). My price was $250 + tax per night in mid-week, 5 days, so expected a higher hotel standards.
The Positives!!!: Location. Pet friendly hotel: no problems with pets, no barking or other noises, specialy at night. Good breakfast (thus silvers are old and croocked) and very nice bar/restaurant. Hotel is on the beach. Hotel is away from the military jets route so no noise from them flying over. Large parking structure so no problem with parking anytime. Hotell stuff is very friendly and helpful. THE view from oceanfront balcony is just WOW! Bike rentals and beach equipment rentals on site. The hotel is worn but clean in general. Two pools, warmer inside, colder outside.

I have hadTHE WORST experience at this hotel. I arrive for check in and I'm told they have no rooms after traveling 4 hrs. Also mutiple calls asking for a confirmation each time to arrive and be told there is no room available. The AMAZON BEHEMOTH heffa that assisted us really cared less that we traveled to this hotel WITH a reservation. She was very nonchalant and her customer service sucked. The night manger Nikki accommodated my family and I for one night. I wasn't the most pleasant person after traveling, arriving, and then being told my room was no longer available WITH a reservation, might I add. Along with showing a confirmation, monies had been deducted from account and constant incompetence being shown on BIG HEFFA'S behalf.The following day Glen assisted us with stellar customer service and we were able to stay for the time we reserved originally. I bought an issue to SHE WHO SHALL NOT BE NAMED but described as BIG FOOTS third cousin removed my key card was not allowing my family and I access to the pool. BIG JUICY continues to display incompetence that exceeded my level of patience. You will know EXACTLY who I'm talking about should you visit this DILAPIDATED establishment. She's the tallest female that works the afternoon shift and leaves in the evening. She wears glasses and her hair looks like baseball mound. You can't miss her!!!!!

Enough about HER. The hotel itself is run down. The halls are hot and muggy. The is small and slow. Parking is ridiculous. The pools are jammed in between the main bldg and the west wing. Staff is friendly and constantly sweating due to the lack of air in the halls. The A/C in our room barely kept the room comfortable. The pool stays cloudy from beach goers who track sand into the pool. The hallways smell of old carpet and sewage.

Overall bad move of you are on vacay and looking for a nice hotel!!!!
