Couldn't be more dissatisfied with the service department. Took mercedes sprinter in due to a stuttering hesitation issue. 8 hour round trip. Dropped it off 8am monday morning and told Cory the symptoms. Told him I need to know if it would be there for a few days or not so I knew whether to go home or get a hotel and wait. He said I would get a call that day. Never got a call. Found out later that all day monday they were trying to diagnose the issue and looking at the emissions system and was told the EGR valve was a recall and getting changed out. I told him whatever is wrong with the van please fix since I live so far away. They changed out, EGR(no cost), Driver Airbag(no cost), 2 brake sensors, airbox, orings on turbo inlet, transmission oil and filter, all 4 tire sensors. and replaced cabin filter. Not much to do with the initial reason I was there and that it was hesitating. EGR symptoms are often different. I also mentioned to take it easy while driving because it is a work van and I have oil and a lot of inventory in the back. I got it back with 5 gallons of hydraulic oil spilled, parts and bins on the floor in the back, bungees stretched way out holding buckets of fluid, etc. Pictures to prove. 250 miles after leaving and paying almost $2800 the check engine light came on as well as the tire warnings. They inflated 80psi tires to 45psi in the front and 66 in the rear because they went off the door jam instead of reading the tires. Had to explain to them that tires dont last forever and they do get changed out and often times upgraded to better tires to hold the load so maybe reading the door jam is great for a VIN but not tires.
Called Cory the next day and pretty much got nothing except the code is an emission code for the exhaust and catalytic converter and I might have a limited amount of restarts before the van doesnt start or goes into limp mode. And, to bring it back. They had it for 3 days, I never got an update like they said, I never got the video inspection like they said, I got charged for them to drive the van to tell me my shock tower bushings were worn and they didnt change them even after I told them to fix anything that needed fixing but they charged me anyway to take it for a drive. Was told it would be done at noon on Wednesday so I sat there until 3:30 when, in their eyes, it was done.
I would caution anyone before taking their import to Valley. Cory's last words were, "Well you know these things are hard to work on." No apology, flat out said he would send someone out if I lived within 25 miles but thats it. Just proves Valley Imports slogan, Customers have no other options in North Dakota so bend'em over and send them on their way. They'll be back. Well not only will i not be back...ever, they lost my Audi business as well. 4 hours to get to fargo one way but have to do it multiple times, or go to Rapid City 5 hours one way and get it done right? Hmmmm
