Bekins Movers scratched and damaged my walls. I filed a claim, but the Bekins customer service has been ignoring my calls and emails for nearly a month. Two of the three movers were really inexperienced which slowed down the whole process which increased the entire cost of the operation since you are charged by time.
The movers did not wear shoe covers, and they were genuinely dirty even before they started moving. I'm not sure why they were so dirty, we were the first customers of the day. My couch smells like their body odor and sweat.
We took care of the movers very well. We gave them a lot of water, food, and support, but ever since the payment has been posted I feel invisible. They will not care about me now. I would not recommend.

The team did a great job in packing, shipping and unpacking the items. Keep up the good work.

Oliver (Shelley) and Jenny (Thorstensen) and their team did everything possible to make our task of emptying 4 PODs on site as good as possible.Their experience, great communication, and sense of humor made a difficult process ... well I can't say enjoyable exactly but I can say pleasant. Highly recommend them.

Working with the Bekins crew was a refreshing and professional experience. They were courteous, friendly and handled my belongings with care. From the initial pack up, pick up and storage to the delivery; the process was smooth and professional. I would recommend Bekins services to my friends and family!

Day of the move, April 27th, I'm waiting for a moving van and a 26' local haul truck shows up. All they know is they are to load my stuff to take it to the Livermore warehouse and unload it. WTF?! That's not what I contracted for.

Called the guy who made all the promises (John Mack) and finally got a call back with some story about the driver assigned to haul our stuff was a no show. He will "work on it and get back to me". And that's the last I've heard from him.

Ultimately talked to Bekins corporate customer service and found out that a driver was never scheduled. Good job Tri Valley Bekins. Screw up and then lie about it.

Unfortunately a driver was not available until May 6th which was 2 days past the latest original contracted delivery date. Finally got our stuff today, May 9th.

DO NOT use this company for your move.

Pay cash! Bekins charged my credit card MORE than the amount on the final bill which I signed at the end of the move. No one called to warn me. In fact, the move coordinator told me to contact my bank when I emailed Bekins to ask about it.

Alex the salesman was great. Francisco, Manuel and Miguel packed and moved my belongings quickly and carefully.

Tri-Valley Bekins has moved me twice in three years. I wrote a personal check for the first move and it was perfect. I was annoyed after this most recent move. They no longer accept personal checks. I wish I hadn t given them a debit card number in advance.

Pay the final bill in cash or with a cashiers check. Make them send you a bill if they want more money. Do not give them the opportunity to charge your credit card for more than final invoice.

Tri Valley Bekins moved my wife and I from Colorado Springs, CO to Tracy, CA in November of 2016.The Driver Oliver did an exceptional job! We have moved several times and easily was one of our best moves. Oliver was polite, explained everything. him and his crew both and origin and destination made this move as stress free as possible. We would not hesitate to recommend Tri Valley Bekins to anyone.

Fantastic service. We had the pleasure of working with Alex and Pat. Both of them were very personable and made working with Bekins an enjoyable experience. I will be reaching out to them the next time we move.

1. The truck that arrived was too small for all my belongings, so I had to rent a U-Haul trailer to complete the move.
2. When I finally got an explanation from Brian Thorsteinsen (GM of Tri-Valley Movers, he told me that it was "illegal" for his big truck to drive on the road to my house, basically it was my fault, then I believe he hung up on me. This in spite of having a written signed contract.
3. Apropos of nothing, the propane delivery truck weighs approx. 32000 lbs.
4. I am out $32 for the trailer, $100 for mileage, and 6 hours of my time at $45 an hour. Total $402.
5. I wrote to Bekins Customer Service (1 business day turnround) 6 days ago - not a word.
6. I am a very dissatisfied customer.

Hired Bekins to move me from one house to another. I had a house full of furniture and boxes, including a garage full of heavy/large gym equipment. I'm extremely satisfied with the service I received. Very fair price for the job and excellent customer service. I will definitely use them again. I highly recommend Bekins for your move.

I moved from a 3 bedroom 2 bath, family room home of 28 years....one can only imagine how much "stuff" needed to be moved. My contact person was Dana. She was extremely patient and professional with me. The movers I had were Luis, Marlo and Bernardo. I can't say enough about this 3 men crew. On time, pleasant, professional, hard working and efficient! I highly recommend Bekins for your moves. The truck was huge, clean and full of moving supplies. Here's whats most important to me. Not one item was damaged, broken, or chipped. The exit and new home move was a sweet transition. Thank you Bekins !!!

The response to inquiries and questions was excellent and very friendly. They were honest and, with the numbering system of my belongings, was comforting. I trust them and would use them again.

Bekins were outstanding. They arrived on time, packed all the breakables very well, and disassembled and reassembled without any issues. They worked as a team to get the move completed at both ends in the shortest possible time, and were courteous and professional throughout. We had good support from the office, too: they sorted out a contractor to hook up appliances, even though it was the Christmas period.

I was extremely impressed with the movers. They worked very hard and had great attitudes.
The Crew Leader "Esteban" was very professional and organized the entire day amazingly well.
I was so glad to see that he was the Crew Leader that delivered my items as well. He really knew what he was doing and I felt confident all my belongings would be taken care of and handled with care.
If I ever move again (which I will), I will definitely use Bekins and if possible request "Esteban".
They even made sure my furniture was centered where needed in my home.

Great moving day because of Jose Zavala, Javier Martinez and Angel. These guys did a great job moving us. Absolutely nothing broken, dented, chipped or cracked. We had to cancel our move day twice because of buyer close issues which we couldn t avoid but these folks definitely came through at the last minute for us. So very grateful for Bekins Moving company. John Maciejewskic who gave us a great quote ( they never deviated from the price quoted initially) and Brittany the office gal who fit us In at the last moment and the men I mentioned before!

We can t say enough about the team that loaded our furniture onto the van, and the team that did the unloading in Southern California. They were both great, hard-working and careful. We haven t finished unpacking yet, but in all that we have unpacked, we ve only discovered one damaged item, a crystal wine goblet. Otherwise everything appears to be in good order.

A couple of reasons why I did not give a 5-star rating...

1. The communication and feedback with the Livermore office was inconsistent at best. It was important that we knew the exact day that our furniture was going to be delivered so that we could be ready to receive it and, possibly more important, notify our new neighbors that one or more of their driveways were going to be blocked by the van. I was told that the office would know on a particular Friday whether it would be a Tuesday or Wednesday delivery. I called Friday morning and was told they wouldn t know until that afternoon, and that they would call me. I never received a call back, and didn t get an answer until I called again the following Monday. A call back, even just to tell me that they wouldn t know until Monday, would have been acceptable. Not getting a call was frustrating.

2. The crew that did the packing of our furniture, in particular the items that went into boxes, was very inconsistent about labeling the boxes. For a number of the boxes that we opened, the contents were different from what was written on the outside of the box. Even more troubling, a fair number of boxes had nothing at all written on them. So we ve been guessing at what we ll find once we do open those boxes. And just to be clear, the crew that loaded our van was not the crew that did the packing.

I moved across country from California to Florida. I contracted with Bekins and instead was loaded into a dirty Wheaton long haul truck. The move went fine on the California end with very nice packers. The van got to California on the last day of the window and the unloaders were very clumsy. Dining room table was broken, which they tried to repair, a chip off my credenza and they couldn t figure out how to put my wall unit together. My son had to come and tighten all the shelves. I definitely wouldn t recommend them.

Good hardworking guys. But they damaged the front of our refrigerator, did not cover our mattress so it is dirty from the move(I should have used a fitted sheet), scratched our entertainment stand by placing it on its side on bare concrete garage floor, and dinged our chest of drawers a lot.

We ve used Bekins Tri-Valley twice in the past three months. The first move was to storage. They were excellent!! Showed up on time wrapped everything and laid protection on the stairs and tile floors.

The last move was out of state.
Showed up a bit late to the apartment. They had plenty of help. When they got to the storage units I pointed out the things that needed special care. Again, plenty of help and it went quickly.

Now for the delivery. They showed up on time. With just the driver and 1 loader. We had to ask them to lay protection for the hard wood floors. When asked to cover the stairs they had nothing.
A few hours into unloading another loader did show up. Which made it go faster.
The special care items were well protected and undamaged.
The price was fair and did come in under the quote.
We would use them again.
Alex and Dana were easy to work with very responsive.

Awesome! I had never used a moving company before and was extremely satisfied with Bekins Moving Solutions - Livermore. The men that performed the move were very professional and efficient. I was truly amazed at all of the work they did for the price I paid. They took apart my king sized bed with electric box spring, removed doors off of large refrigerator, and took apart my large L-Shaped Oak desk and put everything back together at my new home. I would highly recommend them!!!!!

I couldn't be more pleased with my recent interstate move with Bekins. From the initial consultation with Alex to the follow-up calls from Dana and Tyler to Juan the driver and his crew Julio and Angel. All very professional and accommodating. The driver and his crew never stopped. Furniture was wrapped and they handled the boxes I packed very carefully. I wouldn't hesitate to use Bekins again and would request the same crew - they were very patient with my 87-year old mother and the order in which I needed to have furniture moved so she wouldn't get stressed out during the loading process. Juan called me on the road to provide an update as to the unload schedule and Tyler called me on both the loading and unloading days to ensure everything was going as planned. If I could give them more than 5 stars I would!

Bekins was the best priced of all the moving companies I got estimates from. Every employee I spoke with or encountered was extremely polite, professional and helpful. They had all the services I needed, moving to storage, storage, moving from storage and moving from house to house. They always had answers to my questions and if they didn t , they found out for me.

I have been using Tri-Valley Bekins of Livermore, California for several moves. They always are dependable. I have a house full of antiques that has been handed down from my ancestors and there never has been a problem. Everything is well packed and handled with great care. I highly recommend Tri-Valley. It's the only moving company I will consider. Yes, they're not cheap, but you don't find a bunch of broken and/or missing stuff at the end of the move. And isn't that the goal? My last move was a piano and a chest to one of my daughters and it all arrived as advertised. Now to move the rest of my house to Arizona which will probably be final move for this septuagenerian.

Our move was smoother than I could have imagined. I ve moved several times and this was by far the best. The movers were efficient and extremely courteous. Our delivery was on time and exactly when we requested. All of our furniture was carefully wrapped and protected and nothing was broken or damaged.

The driver was fantastic. Friendly, knowledgeable and strong as a hulk. The team in CA was good and experienced, the one in FL was very nice people but that's it. Overall, great experience and great service. If needed, would use the same driver in a jiffy.

I was totally happy with the job Bekins did for me from the packing, loading and unloading. They kept me well informed at every step along the way. Driver Jim answered all my questions and handled my possessions with care. All at a good price, too. I definitely would use Bekins Moving Solutions again!

I've used this company for 3 previous moves and I've booked them for the 4th time! They are the BEST!

I was so nervous to do an overnight move but this company handled our move flawlessly. Luis our driver was awesome and we were very happy with him and his team. Nothing was broken, everyone was very professional and nice. They got the job done very quickly, worked extremely hard and were punctual.

Not so impressed. We hired Tri Valley Bekiins for a cross-town move (approx 7-10 miles) - they did arrive on time and guys were nice- so far so good. But, they left to drop the first load off at the new house (just mostly boxes) and they Nwere coming back for larger items. They were gone for over 2 hours and it should not have taken that long- seemed like it took 45 min to an hour from the time they left the new house to come back to the old (I know because my husband was at the new house)- we assumed they stopped for a break- they never did explain and at the end of the day, no time was taken off my final bill but I decided not to complain since the cost was still under my budgeted amount (shame on me)- When they were leaving to take the final load from the old house they miscommunicated among each other and thought they had cleared with me that they had everything they were supposed to take- they did not and my son ended up chasing the truck down the street so they could come back- they still had a TV, a bed and some other items left behind upstairs. As it turned out. they still forgot the bed. At the end of it all, the old house had black scrape marks on the walls coming down the stairs, (it was being painted so I didnt make a deal out of it) and my washer and dryer have cosmetic scratches on the front (again, not worth making a big deal out of) but it does speak volumes to their quality of work. My new house was left with a white scratch on the hardwood floor from a box they carelessly put in place. After a few days of unpacking we discovered that my sons were missing three X-Box games (valued at $60 each) and my husband was missing a $350 box of ammo- we did not even have them move any guns or ammo- this was in my garage separated from everything else and one of the movers just helped themselves. After several attempts to reach someone, Joe, the Livermore manager finally called back and agreed to open a claim for us- this is after my husband told him we would be filing a police report- that got an immediate call back, let me tell you,. After another couple of weeks, and many un returned phone calls, Joe finally said he would be issuing a check for the loss- he even offered to drop it off since he lived in the area- nice gesture but NO follow through. No return calls, nothing- we finally just got a check in the mail. We tried to escalate to the National Claims Manager- Mike Rogers and even he couldnt be bothered to return a call and offer an apology. Customer service is king people! and this company failed miserably. I will never recommend

Very poor and disappointing customer Service. Waiting for a quote since 1.5 weeks, had to remind them. Still no quote, went with another forwarder who could gave me a quote within a day.

Working with Bekins was easy from beginning to end. We moved into a new home, after all of the boxes and furniture were loaded in our builder came by to see how everything was going, he remarked that it was the cleanest move in he had ever seen. The guys who handled our pack and move were great to work with, efficient and professional. Hopefully we're not moving again for awhile, if we do, we'll call Bekins.

Absolutely amazing experience from beginning to end. Everyone I encountered was unbelievably friendly and professional. My situation was a little different and was handled with complete respect. The moving crew was on time (a few minutes early actually) and went straight to moving my items. I hope to not move again, but if I do, there's no doubt I'll be using bekins.

We experienced minor damage, more importantly, expensive items were either missing parts (refrigerator) or lost entirely (expensive 64 tempered, polished round glass dining table protective cover).

Overall the coordination and management of my move is well below par when compared with other movers - terrible. The packers did a poor job, left too many items unpacked and not packed properly; thus the driver and loaders had a hard time loading the truck on time and spent way too much time trying to pick up pieces not packed properly. Teams operated in silos. As a result, there are damages. Management (both corporate and local) did a poor job to coordinate the whole process. All they care is if the teams shows up (not necessary on time) and that the company gets paid. One thing though, the driver and the team which did the unloading at destination did a very good job. That s the only reason I give it 2 stars. I ll not use Bekins again.

Yet again, the crew at Bekins did a great job! They moved a very full 10 x 30 storage container and furniture from a house within a day. They took great care in packing up the boxes, crates, and furniture. I would highly recommend Bekins and will use them in the future if I need a moving company.

Bekins was great in all aspects but the contract was not 100% what I understood during the walk through of our prior home! The Movers and coordinator were great and worked their tails off!

Went for the public scales. No one there to help during business hours. No signs.

Great decision to go with local Bekins in Livermore, CA. The crew that came to pack was very good. Every item was well placed in crates for a few months storage. The administrative office kept us informed and the professionalism of the entire organization was exceptional. So we stored our house locally for a month .. then two .. then six. Finally got into our new house. Delivery schedule was postponed because of a blizzard. Great decision.
The unload and unpacking crew was just as good when they showed up a couple days latter. And get this. The unpacking crew drove from Livermore to unpack us in NV. I DID NOT EXPECT THAT. Nothing broken nothing missing. Great bunch of young and energetic guys. Driver was really cool. If we ever move again (please no!!!) we will go with Bekins.

Bekins assisted with storage of my furniture and then delivered once I was ready to move. They were quick, very detailed and careful and went above and beyond to make sure I had a great experience. I had such a smooth move and it was all thanks to their team.

The movers showed up on time and walked the house to develop their "game plan".
They laid down protective runners on the stairs and the path leading to the door. They moved quickly yet methodically throughout the house protecting each piece of furniture. They took the time to explain any special packing and answered every question I had. Not once did they give me any pause for concern. Very professional team!

I would use another Bekins business. This group is pretty unprofessional. I had to put some stuff in storage and due to an illness & ultimately a death in my family, it was over a year before I could move out of state & buy a home. When I got ready to move, their billing person said they had made a mistake in my monthly rental for over a year and that I owed them an additional $1K which I would have to pay to get my goods moved (in addition to the $5K moving charge). I had put two loads in storageand the rate went up after the 2nd load, so I didn't recalculate it. I was told what the monthly rate would be when I put the 2nd load in, so I didn't compare it with the paperwork. Then they informed me that I would have to pay it all by credit card because they no longer took checks. It's a poorly run business in my opinion. I will up date after the actual move takes place. Just don't listen to anything they tell you on the phone - get it in writing.

$15,000 to move 4 bedroom from Livermore CA to Phoenix AZ (700 miles), it is clearly Scam, or Robbery.

Having moved many times over the years, I was looking for a company that would help make our move as smooth and surprise-less as possible. We opted for Bekins and they were everything I hoped for. Their communications, punctuality, efficiency and professionalism were top-notch and consistent with everyone we worked with- from our estimator, to the scheduler, to the day of team. I'm hoping to not move again for a long time, but I'd absolutely recommend them to anyone who's planning to sooner.

My overall experience with Bekin's was wonderful. From the first consulting meeting to the last truck leaving, everything went smooth. Packers were friendly and helpful at all times. I highly recommend using Bekin's for any size move

The movers were actually a few minutes early, went right to work on a very expensive, unique cabinet that was one piece and 6.5" high. It took a few special moves to get it out of the small bedroom. They handled it gently from the time it was removed to the set up at our new location in perfect condition. Their salesman came out twice to check out the total move, making several positive concessions as to timing etc.along the way, even though this was not a very large move for Bekins. They came in at the quoted price with no questions or problems.
Those are the reasons I gave them a 5 star rating!!

Bekins has stayed in touch with me every step of the way so far.I am supposed to receive my furniture about 17 November. They did a great job packing and getting my very precious items created properly and put on the moving van.

My initial experance was great with a very understanding staff, we had to make a number of date changes which was handled with understanding.

Our problem is with the delivery of our belongings. We received a call from the driver on Friday evening saying he would be delivering our belongings on Sunday morning. This is when the problem started, he showed up but none of the other people that were to unload the truck. He made several calls but couldn't get in touch with anyone. He ended up hiring two 18 year olds off the street basically to unload our items along with us. The kids worked out great but REALLY trusting our items to two unknown kids off the street??? Very unprofessional! If we had known this would be self service we could have saved over $8,000. by renting a truck ourself.

To add insult, instead of offering some money off, I got an unspected increase in the bid. Really asking me for more money after what transpired?

I have yet to receive an apology.

I can't recommend Bekins based on my one and only experince with them, I do know I won't be using their service again.

The gentlement were quick, polite, careful and hard working. We had an in-town move, but would use them, again, for any future moves.

I'll start this review with one of the movers bringing their baby to the move site and leaving the baby in their car on a 98 degree day. Yes, you read that right. There's so much to cover, but this should give you an idea of the service you should expect.

We noticed that one of the employees car was running out in front of our house while they were moving our belongings. We looked in their car and could see a 1 year old baby strapped in a car seat. The air conditioner was on, but no one was watching him. We told the employee to not leave their baby in the car because, obviously, the baby could die. So we baby sat their baby while they worked. Seriously. You can't make this up.

During the initial consultation, I told them I wanted a 1,600 lb safe to be moved. This was documented. When the movers showed up, they did not have a dolly to use it. Without permission, they used my dolly, which is not rated for that much weight, to move it. About an hour later, they barely made any headway and at one point, I saw my safe on its side in my driveway. There are now scrapes all up the side of it. It had been in pristine condition. As they moved it out of the house, they didn't protect the doorway and caused damage to the home on the way out.

When they realized they needed help, they called for reinforcements. The two guys that showed up to help reeked of marijuana so bad that my house smelled like a marijuana field for an hour after they left. Oh, it should be noted they drove the moving van in that condition, so I can only imagine that they were DUI.

When the moving van arrived a week later at my new home, we discovered that the movers had placed multiple items on top of our bedroom furniture and caused permanent damage to our bed, dresser and nightstands.

It took them almost 11 hours to load the truck from my home in CA, but when it arrived in another state with a competent crew, it only took 4 hours to unload it. At one point during the 11 hour loading in CA, all three of my bathrooms were occupied by movers taking a grumper in all three of my bathrooms. I seriously had no where to go when I needed to go. I only assumed they had Taco Bell by the damage done.

In the middle of all of this, I called Bekins to let them know how bad things were going. The guy that did my initial consultation called me and he was speechless when I told him about the baby in the car. I asked for a manager to call me asap. I got a call back two days later, but only after sending another email asking for contact. Now I'm praying that I get reimbursed for the damage done.

Basically, if you can't trust them with their own children, how can you trust them with your worldly possessions?

It should be noted that the team at the other end of the move were awesome. They were careful with our things, were respectful, and worked quickly. Those four guys I would recommend for any move.

The GM has since posted a reply to my post. Sir, you told me on the phone that you "would make it right." You're not making it right by not calling back or not knocking the price down for the stress and difficulty your company caused. You have since not done anything "to make it right".
Also, it appears you might be lying about not using those people anymore. Sure enough, one of your employees told me they were being used one more time a few days later after our conversation. Again, that is not making it right. If you kept them, that's fine. Keeping them or firing them is up to you. However, the point here is that it appears you lied and looking at other comments, it appears status quo for you.

Excellent move from beginning to end. I ve moved all over the country and this was by far the best moving service and crew ever.

I hate to admit it but I hired Bekins from Livermore without getting any other quotes. We are moving from the Bay Area to San Diego and I had planned on getting at least 3 quotes and making a decision based on service and value. But after Alex from Bekins met with me and I told him I was getting 3 quotes he said he thought was a good idea, I then read all the positive reviews about Bekins and trusted my instincts to go with Bekins and I am so glad I did! After telling Alex I wanted to go with them (I didn t tell him I didn t talk with anyone else) he was grateful and said others from Bekins would be contacting me to talk through the process. I seriously had 6 or 8 calls from the time I decided to go with them to the day they showed up. The crew of 4 were all extremely professional and courteous all introducing themselves then getting immediately to work. It was like it was a competition who could wrap the furniture the best and fastest and load the items in the truck. Anyway they spent the day carefully packing up then heading out with our stuff, including our grand piano. We couldn t be happier! I highly recommend them.

Other mover lost major supporting pieces to our master bed and it broke

They did not wrap my mattress and they dropped it

They scratched our gun safe

Tri Valley Bekins are wonderful. The movers are courteous, respectful, patient and very careful with all household items. I have used them for 3 moves and anticipate using them again for my next move. I highly recommend this company.

I was so nervous to move for the very 1st time and got like 6 quotes. Bekins was the most reasonable. We moved from Fremont to Oceanside with no issues. Wesley the driver was awesome. The people helping were interesting lol but hey they did the job and nothing was damaged so who cares. Thomas the moving coordinator was amazing too! He was always there for me before and after when I had any questions or doubts. He definitely put me at ease during such a stressful time! Would definitely recommend Bekins, couldn t have been happier!

Everything went extremely well, the moving crew arrived on time. They pack our things and we had no problems or breakage. The delivery at our new place was efficiently handled and we were very pleased with the entire process.

After using Bekins several times for my moves, sadly I will never use their service again. First I was asked if if it was ok to complete the move in 1 day versus 2, which I agreed to. Then at the end the movers tried to pressure me into paying them overtime. When I was met with attitude. On top of that they broke several items and didnt even notify us they were broken including the mirror on our bedroom set. If I could give less than a star I would.

Excellent estimating, communication and service. The loading and unloading team were great to work with all at a fair price.
