I was there in November for a business convention. I arrived exhausted from the trip, had a bottle of water from the in room bar for which I was supposed to be charged something like $6 for and now doing my expense report see I was charged for $27 of wine from the mini-bar, which I cannot expense. And, I don t even drink wine! But no charge for my water. I m going to assume it was a mistake.

The hotel facilities are nice but almost every interaction we had with any staff was subpar. Really need to work on the service! For a hotel of this status and price level I would expect so much more! At check-in the gentleman checking us in was not friendly at all and after checking in he didn t even tell us where the elevator was. We left the front desk completely lost as to where to go next. Seriously? The Hampton Inn is better than that!
When I got to my room I found hair and a stain on the comforter and upon pulling back the sheets even more hair everywhere! I called down to request the linens be changed and was told someone would be right up. 30 mins later nothing. I called back and made the request again. When the service manager and one of the maids arrive no one apologized once. The maid actually tried to argue that the sheets were changed. I don t care if they were changed or not, they were covered in pubes!
The service level at the whole trip continued like that. As we checked out a bellman watched as my mom struggled to drag her bag down the stairs. When she got to the bottom of the stairs he finally came over and asked if she needed help. While the location and the pool/beach are nice the service leaves a lot to be desired!
The best in Miami!!! Been here 7 days and 3 more to go. We will be sad to leave our new favorite Miami beach resort and spa. Everyone here is incredible and provides amazing service!! Hanah welcoming us as we checked in with her and she was absolutely a sweetheart! Joseph, Jean and Christopher out on the beach taking care of our cabana, bringing us our incredible food and tropical drinks!! Then Luciana at the pool tiki bar is spot on! She was simply a delight! The whole resort is spotless, even the hallway by our 11th floor ocean front room smells like a tropical jungle! Fresh, clean and inviting! Our room is large, beautiful oceanfront view, amazing decor, comfy bed, firm if you like that, which we do! Refrigerator in the room, many drawers for your clothes so you can feel like you have moved in.. The toilet room is awesome with the sink on top so that it uses the water while washing your hands to refill the tank. Another way that this "green" hotel stays number #1 in my pick of resorts! The water fall shower is our favorite and all of the Aveda products goes along with their keeping it green and natural motive. The lights in the room are the best, the controls are by each room and also next to the bed so you can control it all, including the ceiling fan, right from the comfort of your bed. Can't say enough about this outstanding resort!!
Amazing staff, rooms and private beach area. We loved everything about this place. We are definitely going back to spend another vacation. I wish we had spent more time there. we have left our iPad at the hotel room and the staff was amicable and responsive to our request and shipping to our home address.
Quiet air-conditioned. Many small services that make the stay pleasant. Great breakfast, everything was there. Right on the beach. Sunbeds and umbrella included. Beach service very expensive. Not far from Ocean Drive. Big room, a bit noisy. As everywhere - good tip good service.
I was looking forward to my trip to Miami and this hotel specifically, but as soon as I arrived the employees in the reception made me feel like I was unwelcome. I had a problem with my booking and unfortunately it seemed like no one wanted to help me. I would recommend other hotels.
I only gave 3 stars because of the first impression given by the check-in staff. Upon arriving at the hotel, we were told that the room we reserved (and prepaid) was not available and that we would be getting an upgraded room. Well... The "upgrade" was a downgrade! We returned to the front desk and somehow our reserved room became "magically" available. We had no there issues during our stay.
Our anniversary spot right off the beach. Or stay and swims at the hotel.. Spa was great, very peaceful relaxing atmosphere have been 2x.and great rooms
Decor, ambiance were great. Rooms are small, but to be expected in Miami. Staff were really friendly. Reason for 3 stars is the overall management. Little things like no towels both days of our stay because they were out. But what got us was one of the two main elevators was not working and it's a peak week so it caused delays for everything. 10 minutes at least to get to room which is an eternity when you're waiting for elevator. Bell hops couldn't get up and down, elevator was always full would have to wait for second. Not to sound high maintenance, just supporting our feeling it wasn't the best managed, we never saw anyone working to fix it. Anytime I'd expect a hotel to be on top of these types of thingsbut at 400- 500 a night, it's a must!
Really enjoying are stay. Every employee we came in contact with was wonderful. My husband and are here celebrating our 25th anniversary and will definitely be back.
Only the door men were friendly and helpful. People at the bar never even knew what time was the happy hour and the server never came to take orders or to take the check. Frontdesk people were rude and had no information. I was charged for services I never took. Billing department is not responding about the extra charges. Everyone there looked unhappy and forced to work there.
The place is very clean, relaxing, excellent location...the hotel staff are five star all the way around ... the spa is very relaxing and after a few Massages I really unwound...
The beach access is very convenient...I highly recommend this hotel for anyone who wants a five star experience ...
I had an appointment for a spa day. I arrived at the hotel in a G6 Pontiac 2007 as I waited outside to be valet no one looked at my car or even attempted to come help me. The valet guys were only helping the nice looking cars. When I asked the guy why didn't he help me first if I was already ahead of all the nice cars that came after me? his exact response was "Well we only help nice cars not damaged cars" I was very offended by his comment his name was Michael Rodriguez from Cuba. I told the spa front desk what he said to me because I was determined to call HR on him. But the nice woman gave me a complimentary parking pass for the day that was nice of her but still that comment he made really did hurt my feelings I paid $420 for me and two other people that day so I don't see whether my car is foreign or not for him to have said that to me at the end of the day my experience there was nice beach pool and spa was lovely minus that Michael guy.
Return to Palm's this year after a few years without the opportunity to return to Miami. Why Palm's? By habit, for convenience, by laziness can be but one thing is sure: in more than 10 years of almost annual visits I never had a bad surprise. The hotel remains true to itself and it is found as we left the previous time (some improvement work and more).
Most: friendly staff, hotel on a human scale, quiet (sometimes too quiet some say). One thing is certain you feel calm, almost at home. The newly refurbished rooms are spotless, no complaints about cleanliness. In addition to a beautiful pool we have direct access to the beach (which is not the case when you are lower on Ocean Drive). We are within walking distance of Lincoln Road and even Ocean Drive and its restaurants but it gets more limited due to the distance and the heat. But in 10 minutes from Taxi there is. Excellent compromise compared to hotels located further north. Ah, I forgot: the wifi is also free and covers the hotel and the pool.
The least, precisely, is that apart from Lincoln Road, we are far from the life of Ocean Drive. Very good for those looking for calm, otherwise it's taxi for any restaurant. Nothing of grace and, personally, I prefer to sacrifice a few taxi rides but benefit from this bubble of calm offered by the hotel. Lovers of variety will also have quickly toured the (very good) bar of the hotel and the menu of the restaurant which by choosing the "organic and wellbeing" card a few years ago can be lost the good ones alive ( even if it's actually good). Small flat on the breakfast buffet which for a hotel of this standard, is a bit limited.
In short, the Palms is the choice of calm and security. Ideal alone, couple or family for a relaxing setting just steps from the heart of South Beach. Those who prefer to be in the heart of the local night will go a little further south. It depends on everyone's expectations.
Great Hotel, lovely attentive Staff but not overdone! Leo and Jean have big smiles and were very efficient...as were the other staff. Beds and rooms clean and comfortable. I would have preferred a kettle rarher than the coffee/tea machine... but the tea was still surprisingly good! Good location, the sea was so warm and inviting!
Beautiful resort with a nice clean beach. We had an awesome view of the ocean from our hotel room. Service was excellent and everyone was very friendly and welcoming. We loved that we could order food and drinks right on the beach!
The Hotel look nice and the room is quite ok, however the bathroom is way to smal. The room were cleaned late afternoon only what make it not cozy to stay at room to relax. Waiting 20 minute to get a seat for breakfast??! Room price is way too expensive considering the breakfast is not included and taxes snd others is still added to it by surprise. Maybe i am spoiled by the excelent Asia Hotels which cost the half and offer superior service which i missed here.
This was such a beautiful and relaxing place!! I was there for my sister's wedding and I did not want to come back home! My only criticism will be that our brunch meals came out slow and not of the best quality...but overall, GREAT place!
DO NOT STAY. Currently staying at the Palms. There are numerous problems with our stay. The door to our room does not work. Every time we enter we have to wait for an employee to open it. We are not able to access the room for which we have paid a significant amount.
The elevators to not work. They broke for the afternoon and then sent us to the wrong floor this evening.
I will not recommend this hotel. Do not stay here.
I had seen Beatrice a few weeks ago when my friend and I had a vacation at the palms.. She was so sweet and helpful. I had a spinal tumor removed 20 years ago, and have always had complications with my walking and balance. She had told me about Tragger, it's for people who have had strokes or any kind of nerve damage, AND there happens to be one in my area! I am so thankful for her! Because of her experience and kindness I will be able to walk better and have less pain! Thank you, Beatrice! You are a blessing!
For the third time we re back in Miami. We ve stayed at the Breakwater and Essex House before. I d give the two former hotels 3 stars. Mainly because they lacked everything we got here at the Palms. The rooms are great! The breakfast is amazing! Don t forget to go to the omelette station! The pool area is peaceful and very very green. Feels like you re in the jungle. The private beach is really nice. The staff is so nice and last but not least, even if the hotel was fully booked, weddings everyday, company meetings every day, it feels like we were alone here.
Thank you so much to everyone working here these days!
Very nice hotel in quieter part of the Beach. Comfortable rooms with all you would expect, and a nice downstairs area, although the pool is not big. Breakfast was really good quality food but the two people that were there to take your room numbers and show you to a table could not have been more offhand or disinterested. I would move them both to new roles and then the hotel would be perfect. (Luckily the breakfast quality compensated for their attitude).
Not everything at The Palms is terrible... merely marred by general laziness, poor attention to detail and startling incompetence.
The Good First impressions count, and The Palms does not disappoint. Upon first entering the hotel feels high quality. The grounds and beach are wonderful, as is the general decor of the rooms.
What went wrong? The Palms quickly drops from a 5 star rating once you experience the general laziness of staff (with exception to a few receptionists). We only ate at the hotel twice but in both instances food came with lengthy delays (an hour to cook a steak and 15 minutes for some ketchup is not what you expect with these prices). The 18% compulsory service charge only serves to highlight the lack of service.
The little things This may sound picky, but I believe if you are paying top dollar for an experience you should receive something exceptional. Little things like our wardrobe door not being attached properly (room 326 if you're reading this Palms), elevators being unavailable because staff are using them to move TV's at peak hours, and misspellings on internal advertisements add up to create an a lack of care and attention.
So why only two stars? The general experience would have scored 3.5 on my card, but I have deducted further points due to a potentially dangerous situation with our room. We had been in our room for 4 nights before our Son came from under his bed holding a Atenolol tablet/pill. This was either left by a member of their staff, or more likely, the rooms previous tenant, highlighting a lack of commitment in cleaning rooms. Thankfully our son (who at the time was 2 years old) did not consume the pill but staff appeared shockingly unfazed by the complaint.
Anything else? I am sure this will be a temporary issue (though looking at other reviews it has been occurring for some time), but the building work taking place around the hotel also mars the experience and should be considered by those looking to book a room with the palms.
Spend a spectacular birthday in this hotel .. the very friendly staff, the super nice room and an incredible view, they had many details with me and they were kind at all times ... I loved it!
The ambiance here is beautiful, and the staff is incredible. I appreciate that everything is eco-friendly - all the way down to the toilets and straws. I can't wait to visit again, this is my favorite hotel in Miami.
My fiance and I stayed at the Palms Hotel & Spa for 8 nights and all the staffs were all very accommodating. They upgraded us for our stay, room was very clean and bed was comfortable. Luis from Valet parking was super friendly and helpful with great restaurant recommendation. He was always willing to help us. The hotel grounds was well kept, beautiful and relaxing. Over all a great experience and will return again. We both recommend The Palms Hotel & Spa.
This is the most amazing hotel on the beach. It's like you are sheltered from everything and in your own slice of paradise. Alot of Europeans stay here and I loved hearing all the other languages. I miss it terribly.
My wife booked after reading reviews. Book a two bed garden view(ROACHES). GOT SO called up grade. Soon as we sat down. Big cocker roach crawled from tge closet. We were OUT! Book a room at the Four Seaons downtown. Well worth the 10 min drive everyday to South Beach. Hotel is 7 star!
I went for a wedding and everything was perfect. The hotel has pool and the beach too. The menu in the restaurant was good and essential. The costumer service was great.
Place is nice. Stayed a couple nights, friendly stuff. Had a little issue with the door in my room, I guess they aren't sealed good and you can clearly hear noise on hallways. Maybe when they fix this problem I can give them the missing star.
Worst hotel I ever stayed in, The food service was so horrible small ants were even crawling out of the tray when the food was brought up to my room. When i explained to staff and even requested a manager what happened no one seem to care or even resolve the problem. The pool area is dirty and service is not great at all. Only good part is the beach.
2020 Hotel No good Rooms No good Staff No good like black manager at night time she look like a man do not care owners do not care same staff services no good.
Nice hotel with great view (Seaviewroom). Prices ?: 1/8 white wine between $ 12 and $ 16. Overnight parking at the hotel costs a whopping $ 42 a day! Everything just South Beach.
