Really disappointed. The room was very noisy to the hall traffic. When people walked by you could actually see the shadow. When I checked the door it looked like it had been kicked or broken in to. Damaged quite a bit and had just been half fixed. So I was a little fearful of the safety of the room with the door with so much slack. The bathroom and shower have very little room. Not convenient at all. I travel a lot and it's extremely rare that I find a hotel that doesn't have a hot tub/jacuzzi to relax, but of course they do not. After a few hours I was ready to pack up and leave for a more comfortable experience, but, I fell for the prepay in full for a discount con that many hotels have to do to stay in business. I asked if I could check out after the first night and of course NO! No changes,no refunds. A word of advice, when you go to book a room and you see no changes/ no cancellation, they are obviously not concerned with customer satisfaction. Honorable businesses offer a good service or product in return they make money, when the customer is not happy, you should not continue to feed their unhappiness. Despite the "we do the no changes/cancellations to offer a competitive rates". Blah. Blah. It just proves that customer satisfaction is not a primary concern. Booking online can be good or very bad, when you have never stayed with the hotel before. My advice would be go to the hotel ask to see the room, check the cleanliness of the hallways, elevators, check comforters, pillows make sure they are not pancakes. Because you are the customer and if the service offered is not acceptable to you, you should not be expected to continue with your discomfort. Traveling should be enjoyable, if you meet businesses that is careless to your satisfaction of their service, I can guarantee you others have as well. I believe success in business is everyone leaving thrilled. That's just not the case much anymore.
The best part of this hotel is that it is near the beach with boardwalk access. The rooms are small but with the most comfortable beds. The staff is courteous and provides excellent service. Close to the restaurants and other nearby sightseeing places.
Attended a wedding here. It was nice but there was construction going on that was quite loud. Also, the room we were in had no air circulation in the middle of summer, so the guests were all sweating profusely. The staff was slow to respond to this issue. The food was excellent and the live band was top notch.
Poor customer service experience by two of the spa workers. The hotel is tired, and relative to the dozens of options on Collins Ave, you can do a lot better for your time and money. This was probably a good hotel in the 90's, but I'd skip this in favor of some of the newer hotels on the same block.
Nice hotel but the extra services are expensive .... C unfortunately the case everywhere in Miami Beach ....
Located in a nice part of Collins Avenue. Small rooms, expensive breakfast. Pool is a bit boring. Great service, very nice beach...
I stayed here in the middle of March 2020 with my girlfriend for 4 nights for a quick getaway.
Location: Be warned that if you are visiting any time in the next few months (probably any time in 2020 from what the staff told us) that they are doing roadwork along the same street the hotel is on. It was bad enough to the point where once you are a half mile away from the hotel it takes 20 minutes of sitting in traffic to get there. Then when leaving, it s another 10-15 minutes for the valet to get your car and another 15 minutes to get out of the area. And all because of this roadway in front of the hotel. Because of this, you are best off doing everything you need in one trip to avoid wasted time. It also makes the hotel feel like a prison cell because it s difficult to come and go as you please. Additionally, we were disappointed to see there was not much to walk to in the area. There were a few overpriced restaurants but no shopping, ice creams, or convenience stores within walking distance. The area also seems a bit run down. Also no direct access to the boardwalk from the hotel because they are doing construction there too.
The hotel: The grounds are nice and are kept clean. On our second night, they shut down the pool bar and most of the area due to an outside event they were having. When we asked the concierge what was happening, he told us the event was a food and wine showcase and that it would cost us $100 per person if we want to be a part of it. We expressed our displeasure with this since we are guests and the event was taking away amenities that we are entitled to and the concierge just shrugged his shoulders. The pool water is nice but there is no hot tub. The beach is public and not private. We had the buffet breakfast at the Essensia restaurant in the hotel which was good food for a good value, but we did not have dinner there due to the prices, lack of good reviews, and limited menu.
The room: We reserved a city view room. We got a room on the 11th floor on the corner facing the bay but we were also able to see a glimpse of the ocean which was nice. No rooms have balconies except for a few of the very expensive ones. Our room had one bathroom with the sink built into the toilet which is supposed to save water although you end up having to flush it multiple times anyway because it doesn t flush very well. The second bathroom had the sink and shower. The shower had a big problem with water leaking out the door and pooling in the bathroom. This is mentioned in multiple other reviews and it seems hotel management still has not addressed the problem.
Overall I would not recommend this hotel mostly due to the area, but also largely because of our experience with an event preventing us from enjoying our stay and the lack of help from the concierge.
Everything was amazing from the check-in to check out. The valet, the bellmen, the concierge, the room, the pool, the beach, and the over all experience was great. A special thank you to Hamid Abudulhafid for the beautiful bottle of sparkling wine. I only live 35 minutes away but I will be back. Dont let this gem get away!
Service is good, drinks and food aren't outrageous, feels a little dated but in a charming way. Everyone came for the sunshine and relaxation and we got it.
Great room. Private beach with great view from room. Great restaurants and friendly staff. Definitely recommend staying here.
No
N love you you can p
Location is great. Right on the beach with private ocean front access including complimentary chairs and umbrellas. Staff was friendly and attentive at all times. Plenty of low cost restaurants in the surrounding area (mmmm can you say Cuban food??). Overall had a great experience and would come back in a heart beat.
Hotel first time ok..Second time back to the palms in miami beach staff unfrienly special black lady manager at night this manager is rude and unfrienly like racist i am disappointed. No more next time.Next door hotel.
The hotel was beautiful, the room very nice. Unfortunately the bed and pillows were hard as a rock, difficult sleeping on it. Also paying $28 per day for our car to just sit there was high way robbery. Just saying.
the hotel is wonderful! but I was extremely badly treated by an employee named Juan Jaramillo very rude and incompetent person. For the amount I paid in the daily I expected to be better treated. since I went to rest and not to be nervous and treated like nothing.
...4 stars hotel.. and .COCKROACH!!!... it's freak my girlfriend out..... just booked this hotel yesterday for our mini vacation with my girlfriend for our anniversary. At first, we get in the room and seem like very nice hotel. We even tried the restaurant in the hotel. My room is 602(later transfer to 402). The 1st nite, when we come up and try to get some rest..the noise wake me and my girlfriend up at 12:15 am ( sound like the window or door ..or metal banging noise. The noise in the toilet area next to the bedroom). And the water in the toilet keep running like 30 min without stopping..******..but ..The worst..thing is COCKROACH!!!!..... really really disappointed......*** I've pictures below. Thus, I have video for the noise as well. I was about to book more days here for our vacation...but come to this unexpected things..,
**They keep deleted my pics prof for the COCKROACH !!!
****please carefully consider if you try to book for this hotel ****
The room they offer as the partials ocean view was on the 3rd floor where the ocean is cover by the trees and the first floor roof. After Spending over an hour talking with the front desk we got a room on the 4 floor where you can see over the trees the ocean. Is a waist of money and time if your trying to get a room with a nice view over the ocean. The picture I uploaded was from the 4th floor I tuck the next day. Now imagine been on the 3th floor which was the room they try to stick us in when we got to the hotel. Never again will stay at this hotel.
Omy from the spa is amazing...she s kind and gives an amazing pedicure. Make sure to go see her! All of the staff is amazing here...great customer service all around!
Was part of a beautiful wedding here. The staff were incredibly welcoming, helpful, and thoughtful. Valet parking was practically necessary though as there isn't really any street parking.
Stay at this hotel for two nights and had an amazing ocean view!!! Hotel is really clean, and provides lots of amenities. Valet parking is quick and staffs are very friendly. Yoga classes and zumba classes are available. Downstair restaurant had tasty burgers. And access to beach is right off the hotel and the water is not too deep with good waves for morning and evening swimmers. Loved the view so much from the room and will definitely stay there again if go to Miami.
The space is good I give 4 stars to not give 3.
The staff are very friendly.
