Although, I have yet to stay here. I did work in the restaurant(Essencia) here for approximately 6 months. My supervisor Jennifer was awesome. I learned a great amount of details from her. However, uppper management was terrible. The general manager of the hotel at that was rude and arrogant. One busy morning as he stood and watch for 20mins. He stop me from working to pick up a sugar packet. Over all experience was awesome.

Really nice and stylish hotel with a heated pool surrounded by beach chairs and an "artificial" beach with sand. There's also a tiki bar next to the pool. The staff is very friendly and helps with every issue you might have.
You have also direct beach access where you can have beach chairs or even chaise lounges. Pretty cool is the fact that you can order and enjoy coffee etc. directly at the beach.
The hotel also includes a restaurant that serves fresh and delicious food and drinks.
The rooms are stylish, spacious, clean and really comfortable. We truly had a wonderful stay at The Palms.

This hotel definitely is the best hotel in south beach. The service is really good; and the vallet parking is the nice and fast. Always helpful.
It s the second time in this hotel, and they got me welcome back letter.
When I m in the hotel, I feel like I m home!!!

The hotel will charge wrong amounts on the credit card, which deviate / have been canceled from the check-out statement. Despite confirmation by the hotel regarding errors and multiple contacts, the faulty booking has not been corrected for weeks. Looks like a system to me! The hotel as a whole is clean and the breakfast very good. The employees are friendly. Our case regarding incorrect billing tarnishes the overall impression and we cannot recommend the hotel. If the price is high and you are in the luxury segment, the back office must also be right. Therefore, we will not go there anymore. There is plenty of choice in Miami Beach and even better a little further north of Miami.

No parking you have to pay an extra $41 a night to put your car in Valet parking. No way around it. Water and ice has visible floating mold. Had to go down to the fitness center to find filtered water. Bathroom is way too small for two people. Keurig coffee machine was filthy. Had to pay $3 a cup in gift shop. No complimentary coffee at hotel. This is a nickle and dime you hotel. Stay away from it. Restaurant is over priced and small menu. $3 all-a-cart for one egg.

I booked holiday through British Airway. Resort fee waived. When I checked out I got an invoice with resort fee.

Cleaner cleaned my room according to her timetable and did not clean room at all two times and I had to call concierge about it. Because of this I had no t-shirt to one of my exercises.

This all were minor issues but when they accumulate they start to feel the pain. My check out was 22.10 Palms Hotel and Spa as audacity to take 100,00USD per night for incurred expenses during stay at hotel. Well if customer is not paying for his/her expenses at check out at least in Europe its called stealing. Now its 26.10 and I have not yet received refund of those 100,00*5 (nights)=500,00USD which has been taken from account.

Also all taxes and interests added to restaurant bill no matter how small and average the portion/service sucks. It should be at customers discretion. The tapas platter costed me 18USD+taxes 7 %+tip 18 % at hotels restaurant and was too small to be considered even a snack. 18USD for a mojito. There was a few positives also but now they are overwhelmed with negatives.

Indulged in a deep tissue in the Cabana hut. Highly recommend showing up early to use the steam room. Yuli was amazing! Pricey but worth it, especially with the all day access to the pool area and steam room included for free.

This is the second time at the Palm's. I love it's lush gardens, the privacy of the pool, the lovely rooms, and the scent throughout the hotel. I love it's proximity to the beach and to the walking /biking path. I highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful grounds. Great access to the beach with full service as well. Rooms are nice if a bit small as these are old buildings that have been renovated so that is probably the norm. Restaurant and loungs is truly relaxing with decent food.

We stayed 7 days in November 2014 lovely hotel staff very intentional. Since each year we spend breakfast always personal as charming with a little more words in French BRAVO.This year we returned to spend a day in the pool January 17, 2017 we went to the reception to ask if we had the right person does not speak a word of French I find it a pity for an establishment to stand. To finish at the pool there is a lack of rigor at the level of the beach-goers (do not change the ashtrays, chipping glass, beaches servittes torn I think there are efforts to make .Take exits on the personal breakfast BRAVO.A I forget also congratulations for the change to the reception more refined its good as well as the small place to wait before going to lunch and pretty luster. We will return

This place was a breath of fresh air, made me feel important. Parking is a little crazy though its only valet and a bit expensive. But over all i nice hotel. Down side i didnt see any rooms with balconys.

Hotel is very nice and quiet. The rooms were very clean and the entire staff is friendly and accommodating. The beach is very nice and also quiet.

The WiFi, which didn't work in the hotel room, wasn't great. Doesn't just seem to have been a problem in our room. We saw a lot of people sitting in the hallway with their cell phones. Interestingly, the wifi on the beach works without any problems.

The price is rather on the upper limit but corresponds to the other hotels on South Beach.

Conclusion:

Great hotel with great hotel. I can recommend it. Only the WiFi needs to be worked on a bit.

Beautiful hotel in great location. The hotel definitely has a "tropical resort" feel to it and all employees I interacted with were very friendly. $41/day for parking is ridiculous though and is a huge negative to this place. There are really no other viable alternatives.

Good hotel on Miami Beach. Room modern but bed to small for 2 persons. Pool and beach top. Room view top, Parking expensive 42$/Over night. Fitness room to small and AC to cold. Staff top.

Stayed for 4 nights booked through secret escapes. Private beach access from the back. Also private pool with beautiful garden. Actually look like pics on the web. They have happy hours for guest and ladies night where you get free mani's from the spa. Service is very quick and responsive. Moved me 3x till we had the perfect room!

Not cheap but quality worth money. Extremely friendly, professional, nice and smiling staff. Own beach, pool area, good food, great spa. Perfectly clean, hight quality. Great place for relaxing holidays. Just one thing you could improve - quality of bread and rolls for breakfast

Room, view and grounds are great. Restaurant and drinks are crazy expensive and service is so-so at best. First meal when we arrived for a late lunch was $67. My wife had a cocktail, I had a beer. Food was good, but nothing special. Obviously Miami Beach is pricey in general but I found our hotel to be a little pricier for food and drinks.

Stayed at this hotell for 3 nights. The room was nice and clean, and I was impressed by the touch of modern style in the room and hotell in general. Loved the outdoor areas, both pool side and beach was just fantastic.

Only downside to our stay that I would like to mention is that we where placed right next to the elevator, and there was almost no soundproofing between our room and the hallway. Everytime somebody used the elevator, which was all the time, it felt like they almost was inside our room talking and making noise. This even woke us up from our sleep quite a few times.

i was disappointed, from the fact that we got charged twice for the cabana rental and had to wait 35 minutes for someone to give me something in writing about the refund. yes, they don't give you a receipt for the refund. I am supposed to take their word for it. Then because of this,we are late for our massage and the lady at the spa said they could not honor my reservation so I was not able to get my massage. Very disappointing for a first and last time guest .

I really wanted to give The Palms 4 stars for its pros, but I couldn t overcome some of the cons.

First, let me say I would absolutely come here by myself or with a friend for a spa weekend. This place exudes quaint, upscale, boutique level ambience.

There s little luxuries like a rainfall shower, free WiFi, views of the beach and lovely hotel grounds. For all the pros, the cons somewhat dim the sparkle.

I traveled here with my teens for spring break. I was quoted $436 a night. I received a confirmation with $600+ a night for a different day of the week and other varying daily rates. Had I known staying on a Friday night would result in a higher rate, I may have curtailed my itinerary to be more cost
conscious. Since it was a last minute booking, I just dealt with it. The staff were kind when I called back to question it and, I just wanted to be done with hotel hunting at that point. So that was ding 1...

After 3 days of driving from Chicago we arrived. Easy check in. Beautiful and relaxing ambience greets you from the moment you arrive. The scents of there AVEDA-esque botanical fragrance is fresh and tropical ( I bought the candle and the room spray sold in the shop-heavenly).

We arrived to our ocean view room and it was nice but very very small. The view was decent but not worth an up charge. No balcony or ability to open a window for fresh sea air or to gage temperature was something I realized I ve grown accustomed to when staying at my other go-to resorts.

After driving 3 days, my back was killing me and all I wanted was a hot tub or to soak in a bath. We had neither. It s a spa hotel without a bath or hot tub? What?!

The dining scenario wasn t great. The food was meh, decent, but doesn t inspire me to come back. Unfortunately there aren t many family Friendly restaurants in walking distance either. Having 3 kids and spending $100 or more a day on chicken tenders & french fries is excessive and you re locked in due to limited options, a small menu, and lack of local accessibility.

Bring swim shoes for the kiddos. The beautiful beach isn t powder white sand. It has a ton of broken shells and coral. We had a few kids with bleeding feet. That con aside, the complimentary beach lounge chairs and beach bar and food service was a definite plus. If you re stuck with $100 fries, might as well deliver them to us on the beach. (And that mojito,....watch it, it s the best one I ve ever had).

If I was to rate this 1-10, it s a solid 7.8.
Increase your menu options
Decrease kids food pricing
Get some Pool side live island music
Offer better enticements and incentives to bring people like me back. I m a loyalist... if I love a place, I always come back. I have no problem spending money when I feel I m getting a fair return on my investment. Balance the scales on pricing to offset some of those cons that are beyond the Palms control, and these steps could easily increase the rating.

Next spring break I am leaning toward Playa Del Carmen or LA. I ll have to be cliche and treat this place like a boyfriend I care about and I say, I really like you a lot, as a friend, I m just not in love with you.

The overall experience was awesome. The customer service was amazing. All the bellmen were super professional, kind, and helpful. Daina at the check-in desk was so accomodating. Katja in concierge was so cute, helpful and sweet (love her accent). Pauline in the gift shop was so spunky and kind as well. The amenties were so nice. I wish i had more time to truly enjoy them all. I wanted a full body massage so badly, but ended up not having enough time. Nonetheless, the spa area is very clean, classy and relaxing. The pool and access to the beach is beautiful. I stayed in room 1012 on the 10th floor, with an ovean view. Friggin awesome! I enjoyed wakung up to such sight. We left our room a mess, rushing out to hit the jetski, and we returned to a clean room. Our belovings had been appropriately placed aside and the room was spotless. Great housekeeping. Restaurant food was decent, but way over-priced. I would definitely return.

Our wedding and our stay was at the Palms Hotel. I couldn't ask for more from the staff, from the catering crew and from Holly, our wedding coordinator. If you're looking for a destination wedding or an amazing way to start your union as husband and wife, this is it.

This was a great experience. Our group of ladies went for the spa services here. It was amazing. We spent the day there. If you get their spa service you spend the entire day there and use their amenities for the full day. We would go here again.

We love The Palms! This was our 4th time and we are already thinking of coming back in April for our anniversary. We appreciate it for its quieter ambiance, lush grounds and awesome beach. We love this stretch of Miami beach and the Palms has stellar beach services. The location is great as you can easily walk to SOBE if you want, but honestly, we rarely want to leave The Palms because it is so relaxing. The staff is great. The restaurant is tasty. We love dining on the breezy patio. Elevator can be slow, but its a smaller older (more classic)hotel and we like that about it. We have recommended it a couple times and now have friends that go every year too. If you want to experience trendy Miami you can go next door to Faena, we actually ate there at Pao for dinner one night. The food was fine, but the restaurant was so LOUD, we could not wait to get back to the oasis of The Palms. Honestly, our dinner at The Palms the night before was more enjoyable and about 1/4 the cost.

This place never disappoints. Especially when it come to the food-you don't have go anywhere else. The pool is small compared to other resorts near by, but, most people go to the beach, so it's never really crowded. The service is really good as well.

Very nice the common spaces, the rooms are small, and from a large group we stopped at the hotel two people stole a wallet and a cell phone on two different nights, in the same common space and on the night shift. The hotel did not take care of the situation and just the security cameras in that place did not walk, they did not even apologize. He clarified that in that place there were no guests, only cleaning staff.

Booked using Amex and received a $75 credit and upgrade to a garden/beach view automatically!!! Even received a complementary bottle of wine. The room was spacious; however the pillows could have been a bit firmer. Beautiful views of the beach and pool. I recommend getting out to the beach early if you want a front row. Here's the view
