Poor delivery service. We are both handicapped and just wanted our paper close as possible to the door. Well it was on the steps, in a bush, near the sidewalk and when it was raining it was always soaking wet. I tried with them three (3) times and tell failed. I only wanted the paper for my husband because he enjoyed it and he now is bed bound. Do the math 1 2 3 your out.

CALLED AND CANCELED A MONTH AGO AND THEY STILL CHARGED MY ACCOUNT THE NEXT MONTH AFTER IT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE CANCELED. CALLED TO SPEAK WITH A REPRESENTATIVE AND SHE TOLD ME THAT I NEVER SPOKE TO SOMEONE THE MONTH BEFORE AND I TOLD HER I SPOKE WITH A INDY STAR REPRESENTATIVE ONLINE AND GOT ASSURED MY ACCOUNT WAS CLOSED ON THAT DAY, THEN SHE GOES ON TO TELL ME YOU CANT DO IT ONLINE WHEN OBVIOUSLY YOU CAN THEN SHE PROCEEDED TO TELL ME I NEED TO CONTACT MY BANK FOR A REFUND, AFTER ASKING THIS LADY 5 TIMES TO PUT ME THROUGH TO A MANAGER SHE FINALLY TRANSFERS ME TO A SUPERVISOR AND SHE APOLOGIZED AND TOLD ME I WOULD RECEIVE A REFUND! ITS RIDICULOUS FOR SOMEONE TO TELL ME I DIDN'T CONTACT THEM WHEN I KNOW WHAT I DID AND WHEN IT WAS SUPPOSE TO ORIGINALLY BE CANCELED AND ITS RIDICULOUS THAT YOU HAVE TO ASK AN EMPLOYEE 5 TIMES FOR A MANAGER BEFORE THEY PUT YOU THROUGH.
I WILL NEVER PURCHASE THIS NEWSPAPER EVER AGAIN!!!!

I have been a 7 day/week print customer for 27 years at the same address, but because of the terrible delivery driver I've had for the last 6 months, I can't read it before work anymore. I QUIT!!! Called customer service many times and got the same "scripted" replies with no results. He sucks and so does customer service

I have had the WORST experience ever while dealing with Gannett & Indy Star on advertising. They had a billing issue and over billed us for our PPC campaign. It has been over a year and they still can't get it right. They billed us for several months of PPC while we were not even active. After we had a meeting with Bill Higgins, in witch he agreed that we were incorrectly billed, they turned us into collections. STAY AWAY FROM THEM AT ALL COST ........... STILL YET TO BE RESOLVED

Trial offer automatically renews (not uncommon), but if you ever want to cancel a subscription, it is an incredible hassle. Hell just logging into my account in Chrome wouldn't work, I had to switch to IE. Then no online option, you have to call someone and listen through a half a dozen pitches and retention offers while trying to communicate with broken english.

I hate when companies get you in with trials and make it an absolute hassle to cancel. Without that experience I would rate an Indy Star subscription as "good, just not for me". But since they want to be shady, avoid these guys at all cost.

Terrible service!! We have had the paper for about a month just Thursdays and Sundays . Three of our papers have been soaking wet and two Sundays have not even been delivered even after calling Sunday morning letting them know so, still no delivery. Didn t think it was possible for business to treat customers so badly. Save your money and do not sign up to get the star delivered!!

I signed up and no paper. Received a lot of automated calls asking if I received the papers. Went through that process and no paper for two weeks so cancelled. Noticed that I was charged through my banking and called Indy Star to resolve but I technically have no account and was told no refunds under $10 when ironically I was charged 9 something. Talked to two different reps in between hang ups through "Let me transfer you" and received two completely different answers. Only consistency was no forwarding telephobe numbers or contacts available to pass on to dispute outside of the call center. So basically I paid for no paper but the Star benefits. Lets see if this gets resolved before another $9 next month.

This is the biggest ripoff EVER!!!!! I supscriped for a Thursday and Sunday Paper. They took out $14.52 out of my checking account and only delivered 1 Sunday paper for the month. I cancelled the paper and was only credited $6.48 becauce they want to say I had internet access which I never used and never even set up an account with. So that Sunday paper cost me around $7. Will never supscripe to this paper again, and will tell others that this is a big ripoff!!!!

Have subscribed for over 20 years. I like the actual paper but I want to read it in the morning. My delivery time has gradually become later and later. What is considered an acceptable delivery window? It's been 9:30- 10:30 on weekends and I m not sure on weekdays because I leave for work between 7:30-8 and it's not there. I can't read it in the evening. I have called to cancel and they assure me a manager will be notified, or the carrier will be notified or someone will call me... nothing has cganged 3 months and 4 phone calls later. Can anyone tell me if delivery before 8 am is an unreasonable expectation? It has never been an issue in the past 20 some years.

Horrible service. Can't talk to anyone actually IN Indianapolis. We have been missed with delivery twice (so far) this week, and on an average at least once every other week. Continued calls do no good. Ready to cancel if no improvement.

The Indianapolis Star continues to rip me off. I have paid for at LEAST two subscriptions starts, have NEVER received a paper after numerous calls to customer service(customer service is VERY nice hence the one star rating, no results). They promise a low rate for what they call "EASY PAY" I call "EASY STEAL" and, if you don't allow them to kill your credit card the rates go up dramatically, and you have to pay in advance which I did and as of today have never received a paper even though it was to start over three weeks ago! I went to the downtown circulation desk to ask for a refund. I was told there was a " process" that may take 30 days or more, even though they snatched the money off of my credit card for my "start" almost instantaneously. I swear the guy at the desk threw my info in the trash as I walked out. Who are these people that steal from you and continue to represent the official newspaper of Indianapolis and get away with this mess? I also received another bill from them saying that I owe a balance. For services never rendered! I will never again buy anything from their kiosks I see at numerous events with their enticing promotional items. I have been ripped off for the LAST time. New subscribers beware, especially if you don't live in Carmel.

As a gift, I was scheduled to receive the Star on Thursday and Sunday. To date, I have received three newspapers. We have contacted customer service more than six times and this team has not been helpful and no credit has been applied. Do not waste your time as I would not want another citizen to be disappointed. My first job was delivering newspapers in a small town and we were responsive to our errors. I was patient for a while but I have no confidence in the leadership of the Star to resolve this matter.

I just want to detail the unpleasant experience I had with a indystar contractor I had today. He practically forced his way into my apartment, would not take no for an answer, and lied about the cost for the first three months. I did not want it, he would not stop until I gave him my information.

Please train your contractors to not be unethical and force people to sign up and not take no for an answer.

His name was Anthony and working in Noblesville today on July 7th 2018

Been a subscriber for years. Paper content is ok, but have fought with them over delivery issues for several years late or missing deliveries. I put a stop on when going on vacations and come home to a pile of papers on my porch, a welcome sign for criminals. On top of that they make it very difficult to quit or change your subscription. Can't do anything online and you are on hold forever when you call.

I am disappointed about the delivery. They cannot even deliver to my house on time. But of course they can make sure they get paid. In my side yard is delivered. I am on disability and cannot walk very good, but I have to walk to my side yard to get the paper, of course that is when they can deliver the paper. I was a carrier in high school 1 complaint in several months that I delivered the paper. I had to spend many hours collecting to make my bill each week. It is so much easier now, but the service is poor.

HELP! I need to have my paper delivered in the paper tube (which they have done for the past 20 yrs.) Unfortunately this is rarely the case. I have called and sent MANY emails. If I finally get through to a person, I'm assured the problem will be corrected. yet nothing has improved. What is crazy they will deliver my paper on the ground under the tube. This week my paper has been left in the middle of the road. for the 2nd time. During the last rain my paper was left under the tube in a puddle, completely soaked. I have often missed parts of my Sunday paper, yet they refuse to deliver the missing parts. To add insult to injury , the cost of the paper has gone way up. Paying more for horrible service.

I try not to write negative reviews but their customer service leaves no other options. I subscribed when I lived in an apartment and was assured I would get the paper. Received a bill but not once received a paper. When I bought my first house, I again signed up for the paper. I received a bill yesterday and have yet to actually get the paper. I've tried calling and waiting on hold for almost an hour, tried using their call-back option and never receive a call, and have tried using their online chat option with no luck. Get it together..... I wouldn't even leave a star if given the chance. Very, very disappointed.

I work at an assisted living facility where the residents all order the Sunday paper. They look forward to it all week. Today, it was not delivered. When I called, I spoke with someone who barely spoke English, and couldn t find my account. Then she told me that EACH resident of the facility would need to call & report that their paper wasn t delivered. Even though they are all delivered to the same address. That paper is literally the one thing these people look forward to all week. It s now 11:00 AM, and we still do not have papers.

If I could give them zero stars I would. My family have been subscribing to the Star for over 50 years. My parents are elderly and handicapped and no matter how hard we try, we cannot get the newest carrier to deliver the paper to the top of our driveway (which is on a slope). The guy leaves it all the way at the bottom of the hill down by the street. Now tell me, is that safe for someone in a wheelchair? We have contacted customer service numerous times with no change whatsoever despite their many promises to rectify the problem. Half the time we don't even get the paper at all. Their response? "You can access the paper online at any time." If we wanted to do that, we wouldn't have subscribed to a physical copy at all. It's really a shame as they used to be a good dependable company. I'm sorry to say that those days are long gone.

Every so often it'll do some good investigative journalism - IPS fudging graduation rates, etc. - but for the most part, it's a vehicle for progressive lefty columnists. Somehow, in Indiana, they can't seem to find a single moderate or conservative columnist.

EDIT: Okay, they've finally got Abdul. So that's a nice break from the relentless tide of left.

The worst customer service. You can't get a person and when you use the internet, it doesn't work. I need to stop papers for 3 mos. while in Fla. Only able to stop for 1 mo at a time, so I cancelled for Jan., paper still being delivered. Neighbor has been picking it up so it doesn't look like no one is home. I am now waiting for a call back because you do not have enough customer service people to handle all the problems you have with your paper. I have subscribed to a Indpls. paper for 60 yrs. and the cost keeps going up and paper goes down. The paper in Sarasota is soooo much better than our Star.

We were signed up by a high school student in our neighborhood for 2 physical papers a week and an online subscription. We honestly forgot we had been paying $17 a month for it for about 6 months. We finally got around to calling to cancel and I just mentioned to the rep we have NEVER received a physical copy. I was not asking for refund, just to let him know and he proceeded to get angry, talk over me, make up excuses and blame me for never calling in etc. Just a FYI, signing up and supporting a local newspaper is great but unfortunately, their customer service could use a boost.

Avoid! A nice gentleman came to my door promoting IndyStar subscriptions and normally I would tell any solicitor I'm not interested, but he informed me that I could receive the paper at a promo price and it would help fund his education. He said I can cancel it after a month and I wouldn't be charged. Normally I don't read the paper and I receive a majority of my news online, but I thought 'why not' since newspapers are kind of dying out and he assured me that he would deliver my paper. After two weeks had gone by I still did not see a single one, so naturally I thought maybe it took some time to get me into the system and the papers would start coming to my doorstep. Roughly three weeks later I was contacted by the IndyStar to pay up and I kindly explained to them that I never received the paper, but I also explained that I was in a promotional period that wasn't suppose to cost me. I told them to cancel my subscription and that I was moving soon anyway (which I explained to the man at the door). They persisted and told me I could have it delivered out-of-state. Again, I explained that I'm not interested. I'm still receiving calls and mail asking me to subscribe again. WHY would I subscribe to a newspaper that is never delivered? Clearly I'm not the only person that's had this issue. UPDATE: Immediately after my review I received a letter in the mail and a phone call once again asking me to subscribe!!! They're now disguising their phone number. LEAVE ME ALONE!!!

Indy Star online payment via web looks like it works and even displays correct new balance after make online payment. BUT it does NOT actually work! AND, customer service rep told me today that THEY KNOW IT DOES NOT WORK and has not worked FOR SEVERAL MONTHS (since at least January, 2016). THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE!! I didn't find out until my paper failed to show up today and I called them. They did NOT offer anything to make up for my months of updating my online payment info. They should have at least offered a few free newspapers! Horrible customer service!

Too bad they have a monopoly in Indy, so they can get away with this! This one reason I only get the Sunday paper!

The Indy Star, a once great newspaper whose Super Bowl edition from 2007 I have proudly displayed in my home, has become an unreadable mouthpiece of the left. Gregg Doyel, for example, is permitted to rabble his personal beliefs in articles resembling hard news which are not clearly labeled as opinion. Mr. Doyel and the entire editorial staff of this once great newspaper disgust me. They do not deserve to represent the great city of Indianapolis.

If I can give them a minus star rating that would be great for customer service and delivery!
So just before Christmas '18 I ordered the Indianapolis Star
Thursday thu Sunday's papers and I was receiving the papers on a regular basis until March 11th and that's when the problem's started of continuous missed deliveries I reported most of these to a customer service agent and a few other ones via the automated phone system. So the following dates are all of the papers that were NOT delivered
March 11,15,16,21,22,23,29,30,31.

April 4,5,6,7,11,12,13,14,18,19,20 & 21.
Each time I finally was able to speak to a person I asked them where they were and they said overseas and they said the problem would be corrected they would contact the carrier or they would credit me or they would contact the carrier and he would deliver yesterday's paper the next day along with the current paper none of that ever happened sure I did get the credit occasionally but not every time . The strange thing was that most of my neighbors were receiving their newspapers on a regular basis,
I have put my account on hold until which time i can actually cancel my account I tried Via an email but they are not letting me do that..

It rained again and my home delivery was soaked again. I have called to complain over and over but if it rains the paper is wet. My wife enjoys reading the paper and doing the crossword, but we have to try and lay out the paper, page by page to dry ( it tears when wet). I see the stands at the grocery where a saleperson is selling scipts to the StarNews to get new customers. But I know it costs more to get new customers than to simply work on keeping your loyal followers! I would have stopped my delivery long ago but my wife likes the paper with her tea in the morning.

if i could i would put negative rating on this, but you need to be aware of what scam you are putting yourself into when you even think of signing up,you will be charged your normal monthly for awhile and then without confirmation with you they will bill you twice a month for 1 month subscription. and up your dues, there is only one way to cancel, and they said i cant even cancel online (because of course all they want is your money) you have to sit on hold for more than an hour because that how much THEY CARE THEY DON'T if anything don't even sign up for a subscription at least you wont get scammed by just walking in a store too buy one physically no credit card linked or anything
