We stayed at the Staybridge Suites in Times Square...

We stayed at the Staybridge Suites in Times Square for five nights. Unfortunately the condition of our room was not satisfactory. Our bathroom door could not be closed, the curtain rod guide was completely bent (which is why the curtains could not be moved properly), the entire room was dirty in different places and all the taps were loose. To make matters worse, the safe wasn't even fastened with the smallest screw. Please why do you need a safe that is not connected to the furniture or the wall ?! After complaining twice about the safe and the broken bathroom door, the door was not repaired, however. Nothing has ever been stolen in the hotel and the safes are basically not fixed ... but when you look at the people who move around the hotel doors and the streets around it, this is surprising. You will find many homeless and drug addicts here. However, you will not be bothered. The situation is both a curse and a blessing. You can reach all areas in New York quickly and easily with the subway. As already mentioned by some others, the elevator situation is also in need of improvement. At peak times, you wait 10-15 minutes for a free elevator. When transporting the luggage, it unfortunately falls out of the 18th floor to take the stairs. To say a few more positive words ... breakfast is sufficient, but not earth-shattering.

If I could do 10 stars, I would. The people working were so nice, the breakfast was good, the rooms were spacious as NYC rooms go. The elevators went out once, but what can you expect?! It's a busy city at ALL times of year. We were on our honeymoon and they even left us a special note with complimentary wine. The hotel was located at the perfect spot. When we come back we will be staying here again!

Nice hotel. Clean. Great location. It was nice having a small kitchenette in the room for food and goodies you bring back to the room. Beds were comfy too. The breakfast they serve is okay... we ended up going to diners instead.

Location very good. Within 5 minutes walk to the metro and a few more minutes to Times Square. Room clean. But very noisy as regards the traffic on the street. Equipment of the rooms very good. Staff very friendly. Breakfast overall a little bit of choice. Would recommend the hotel in any case.

Great location. Really nice hotel.Breakfast and Manager's reception are included in your room rate which is a nice perk. Although the breakfast buffet leaves much to be desired. Typical carton scrampled eggs, sausage patties, cereal.Cut up fresh fruit was flavorless.coffee tasted watered down. The Manager's reception was the highlight of the two.
All in all I would definitely recommend this hotel when staying in Manhattan.

Hotel is walk-able distance from times square. Hotel included with refrigerator & kitchenette which is great. My room was right in between 2 elevators. It was making terrible sound throughout day & night. When I complained to receptionist, she told me that there is no other rooms available. Bathroom shower was not working properly, water was not going through drain. I wont expect this kind of issues with 4 star hotel

Beware of this hotel! At the check-in we were told a price of $2354.16 (incl. taxes) for one week and my credit card was charged accordingly. The invoice states the same amount. After leaving the amount was refunded and two days later an amount of $3464.71 was charged - without further notice or explanation.

For over two weeks I've been trying to figure out why the hotel suddenly debited over $1100 more than agreed. But the hotel doesn't care. The case manager of the head office promises again and again that the hotel will answer and take care, but nothing has happened for more than two weeks.

At the beginning I assumed a mistake. Now I have to say clearly that this is fraud and theft. Therefore avoid this hotel!

Very busy hotel. Not very attentive to guests because of how busy it was, however the front desk was friendly. No water bottles in the room and construction on the street at midnight hours.

Rooms are clean and has a kitchen with stove full size fridge, coffee maker, plates, cups, etc. Social time every evening with free food and drink. Free breakfast each morning. Easy 5 minute walk to Times Square. Not the nicest place in NY, but a good deal for NY considering what you get for your money.

Short review: excellent staff, comfortable bed, lots of space, as quiet as it gets in the city, ideal location, good food: we WILL be back!!

Long review: Perfect location for all of our adventures since it was so close to the 42nd Street Metro entrance and the Port Authority. The staff was amazing. Shelly checked us in on Thursday morning with a smile, expertise, and perfection. Checked us out the same way 6 days later. Night staff provided us with a sewing kit when I had a sewing emergency. Every day, for 6 days, when we passed the front desk we saw smiles & helpful employees.

Our room was on the 16th floor, and had almost everything we needed: comfortable king bed & 6 pillows, kitchen with microwave, stove top, dishwasher & full size fridge, desk area, two stools at a small table, drawers & closet space, a safe, clock radio with AC & USB plugs, and a comfortable chair & ottoman. The bathroom was a good size, with amenities (lotion, shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner) & magnifier make up mirror. Higher wattage lighting would have made it perfect. Each side of the bed had end tables. On my side of the bed was the clock radio - but no lamp. Husband s side of the bed had a lamp, and 2 outlets.

We decided to stay in one night at the hotel to relax, and watched whatever we could find on the flatscreen TV. Selections were limited as the NBC station was pixelated, with stuttering sound. We couldn t get the ABC station. When we checked out, Shelly said this was NOT normal. We should have called. Now we know! We enjoyed reading USA TODAY which was complimentary.

Breakfast was a mixed bag. Most of the selections were very good (coffees, teas, juices, breads, cereals, fruit including oranges, banana, & apples, eggs, meat and potatoes). One morning we were not sure what the meat was - chicken or turkey bacon? Was it cooked completely? That same morning the eggs were not as warm as we would have liked. One morning pancakes didn t seemed cooked. BUT we did find something good to eat every morning. The staff who cleared away dirty plates & trash was fast, friendly, and efficient. It was packed every morning & finding someplace to sit was a challenge - at 7:30 or 8:30 or 9. Downstairs in the parlour, it was less busy for breakfast, with almost the same choices, not as many tables & chairs, and we bussed our own table. But it was peaceful and easy to navigate.

The elevators were fast when we were on them by ourselves or with a few people. In the morning, we took the 214 stairs down since the 3 elevators were packed with folks and their luggage, on the way to check out. But going up the wait for the elevator was no more than 5 minutes. Sometimes we would walk down to the parlour floor to secure a spot on the way up. When we checked out at 10:35, our elevator came quickly & was empty!

The location is close to the subway station, but I saw some things that were a bit worse than Staybridge in other cities, such as no bathtub, slow elevators, and a small variety of breakfasts.

Hotel / aparthotel very close to Times Square, the location is perfect, next to the 42th St Port Authority subway station, which places you practically anywhere in Manhattan. The room is very spacious, super comfortable 2 meter bed. The bathroom is fine. We thought breakfast was going to be bad and for NOTHING, there are Bagels every day as well as toast, there is cheese, yogurt, fruit, pancakes and chests and every day they change something, some days there is bacon, others there are sausages, etc. There is obviously juice and coffee and tea. From Monday to Wednesday they do 'social hour' from 5 to 7 in the afternoon there are soft drinks, coffee and beer and something to eat, one day we had hot dogs, another meatballs in sauce and another was salads and all customers can go without problems. The service at the reception is also very good and they are very attentive. I was surprised by the hotel, for the price I thought it was going to be a bit shabby and not at all, without a doubt the next time I would return to this hotel without thinking about it.

Horrible experience, small room, too hot and road noise, fridge one foot from my head in bed, old kitchen equipment. Elevators congested and useless. Crowded. Toilet didn't flush properly. Bad street. And superrr expensive. Next time a capsule hotel or queens.

Very welcoming and very nice staff.
Clean.
Good breakfast.
Only lunical flaw is that I discovered that New Yorkers do not wash every day and therefore do not need soap to wash.
An experience that I recommend.

I stayed for 3 nights and I have really enjoyed my time here. The check in was super fast and the lady at the front desk was very nice.

They have a complimentary breakfast buffet and also serve complimentary snacks and drinks on a couple of nights.

The room was clean and modern, I loved the bathroom and particularly the close up mirror. My room had a huge window and the view was okay, nothing spectacular.

The room also had a kitchen with a full size fridge and freezer, a microwave, toaster, kettle, stove top and a dish washer! It came with tons of China and even pots and pans. Wish I had stayed longer to really get a use out of all the great equipment.

The hotel is in walking distance to Times Square, it takes you about 5 to 10 minutes and the area around the hotel is always busy, so I never felt unsafe walking alone between Times Square and the hotel.

The only real downside (hence the 4 stars instead of 5) was that my room was in front of the elevator and it was constantly beeping. Also the fridge just randomly made noises which was very distracting at night.

All in all I would always recommend this hotel and definitely come back next time I'm in NYC.

Great location within walking distance of Times Square and good restaurants. Nice, fun, and helpful staff. Breakfast is good too. The beds and pillows in my room were extremely comfortable, but I'm not a fan of their showers.

The reception staff were rude, disorganized, and not knowledgeable. The wait time at check-in was extremely long and no room was available for me when I checked in. A friendly bell-hop named Jamie helped store my luggage, then I was sent away with a promise that reception would call when my room was ready. The call never came.
The next day, housekeeping was servicing my room when I returned at 11PM.
There was no outlet to plug the microwave into.
The microwave turntable was missing a wheel, so it was dangerous to use with liquids.
The shelves in the bathroom were dusty and dirty, so I had to clean them before I could use them.
The lamps in the room were full of lint.
The shower curtain was not assembled correctly.
Toilet seat was loose.
Range hood did not vent to outside, so suite was greasy.
The wait times at the elevators were extremely long.
The bathroom sink had a ridiculously small faucet, making it almost impossible to use.
The cabinet over the kitchen sink was so low that the sink was hard to use.
Dirty dishes in room upon arrival.
Terrible breakfast with many items out of stock each day.
Significant mildew in bathroom.
No towel bars in room. How can we be "green" and conserve towels if there is no place for them to dry?

My husband and I stayed here this past week for our anniversary and we had the best experience. Everyone worked very hard to make sure our trip was memorable, I would like to shout out Jovy and Candice who went above an beyond. Our rooms were clean and had great space. The location was excellent in relation most attractions and it was right across from the subway. I would definitely stay here again!

Rooms are small but clean. The elevators run on the slow side. There is a free breakfast buffet every morning. It's a short walk to most midtown attractions, including Times Square, Rockefeller Center, Macy's, and the Empire State Building.

The only negative is the street where it's located. There is a 24 hour adult movie theater only a block away that's below street level, which creeped me out every time I walked past it because I kept envisioning some deranged creep running up to me and shoving me down the steps and out of view, never to be seen again.

But that's the neighborhood, not the hotel. The hotel itself is fine.

Stayed two nights, friends had the adjoining suite. While the rooms were not large, there was enough space for four adults to be comfortable.

Front desk staff was knowledgeable and pleasant to deal with. Though the breakfast was a little above the standard buffet you see so often, the dining areas were crowded, tables hard to find and clean tables non existent.

The hotel was a few block walk to Times Square through what I would consider a safe area. It fit our needs fine . 359$ Both nights taxes and surcharges included
