I have seen Dracula and The Nutcracker a couple times, always great! This review is on their customer service. I bought tickets for The Nutcracker in October. I then picked up a Friday night shift at the hospital on December 23 without thinking..I knew no one would take the shift for me! I was so worried I wasted $160 on tickets. I called The Royal Winnipeg Ballet expecting to have to pay more or get a "not my problem" as it was my own fault.. but I was amazed! The girl on the phone changed my tickets to a different date with the same seats and mailed the tickets to me. No questions asked and it took less than five minutes! I am so very thankful and impressed!

When I bought tickets I did not realize I would not able to return them or get credit for them. It's Christmas and a family emergency came up and I am not able to make it unfortunately. I will not be in town for the remainder of the days this show is offered. Super disappointed. I really don't even feel like attending any shows any more.

A first rate establishment. If your kids want to do ballet, take them here. The cost is similar to the strip mall place and the experience is way better. 30' vaulted ceilings, live piano players and tons of mirrors in the practice rooms.

Going to the Nutcracker every few years is a family tradition. Usually we have floor seats, but this year we were up on the top balcony. It was a beautiful show with wonderful dancing, and i loved all the Canadiana touches. I found those pale pinky beige costumes were pretty dull from the balcony. I recall the show being more colourful.

The RWB is a treasure!

The RWB is a treasure!

I have since lived in other cities where the Ballet companies are proficient, yet clearly lacking the amazing quality and prestige of the RWB (at triple the cost of what a ticket costs in Winnipeg). Truly, I recommend anyone with an interest in dance to take advantage of the RWB if you are in Winnipeg.

This is a great avenue for parent's to expose children to wonderful costume's, music, stories and artists.

I enjoyed student performances at this building.

Such a beautiful work of art! We seen The Nutcracker yesterday afternoon on Boxing Day, the performance was amazing, my favourite part was the ending of the first half with the deep blue backdrop, snow covered tree and snow falling. Even the cute little polar bears were so charming!! Everything about this play was perfect. This was my first time, I will definitely be making this a Christmas tradition :)

We have had season tickets to the RWB for 30 years.

I attended one performance featuring Evelyn Hart and was hooked. I have never seen anything as close to perfection as her dancing. As much as she is missed, I still love watching the RWB perform.

Both Winnipeg and Canada are fortunate to have such a jem.

We saw Spotlight on Wed. night at RMTC and were blown away by the choreography and fabulous , passionate, deeply understood interpretation by young and very young professional division RWB students. It was heartbreakingly mature, yet innocent. The choice of music from the Chopin Project album was a surprising pairing int that is not really modern music.but rather a re interpretation of Romantic music.
In its simple beauty, it was a perfect choice. I am very curious as to how that music came to be chosen!
The whole audience was very moved. There was a huge spontaneous, noisy standing ovation for this particular part of the otherwise also excellent program.
This piece should be part of a MainStage production going forward.
Young people should see this! they will "get it".
Thanks you RWB students!

Really unhappy with process of purchasing gift cards. Got double charged and RWB not helpful and not owning up to their mistake, now going through credit card company to file a complaint. Laissez fare attitude of staff when purchasing further augmented by someone who seemed to not care when I inquired about the double charge. Archaic gift card system where you have to purchase in person and no way to redeem unless you go in person. Overall unprofessional and unsatisfactory.

RWB is famous for professional ballet company world wide, but it's also well known for recreational school. Their instructors with background music played by a pianist is very popular with students.
