The cathedral walk tour was great! The tour went for an hour and our very knowledgeable tour guide informed us of the history of the caves.

I especially liked the cathedral and the small music/light demonstration. We were told that they have opera in the cathedral section of the caves. I would be very interested in going to this.

Awesome experience, Phil was a great guide, good with the kids in our tour. My husband walks with a stick and managed perfectly well, they have a good series of stairs plus ramps. Those able to are welcome to leave via the more adventurous route including two swinging bridges. Good coffee and food options reasonably priced. They offer accommodation and camping sites too. Great for families. We had fun

Amazing experience in the caves. We learned about the types of formations in the cave and entered a truly incredible natural acoustic chamber within the caves. Our tour guide was great, explaining how the caves were discovered and all of the stories linked with them. I highly recommend the Capricorn Caves, even if you need to travel far to get there.

Ridiculously overpriced. If you were to go into the caves themselves you'd be out again in 15 minutes, instead you're paying $32 pp and spending over an hour to listen to some uninteresting forgettable information about who discovered the caves and who built the walkways.

Don't get me wrong. The caves are really cool to see, and the tour guide did her absolute best and handled it really well. The managers however should see that there isn't enough information to last 1 hour or to justify the price point. Also the whole group tour thing is incredibly annoying when you're with loud children or slow walkers.

Interesting cave but too many people in the tour, feel a bit pricey for what is on offer. Not much of rock formations due to being a dry cave. The cathedral light and sound part is awesome together with the zigzag passage at the end.

Did this tour many years ago as a kid & had to take another look. Staff are extremely friendly. Our tour guide was very enthusiastic & clearly had a genuine love for the place. We had our 2.5yr old son with us & he didn't once complain & was kept occupied with lots to look at. He was also able to walk the entire tour, he especially loved the free swinging bridges. Would recommend anyone with some spare time to stop in & if you've got it- put on some insect spray the mozzi's are pretty bad outside

A must visit. If you are doing a road trip on this part of the A1, it is 100% worth stopping here, even for the shorter tours. I was sceptical when I saw it online but being there in person, it is an awe inspiring cavern of beauty. Mindy (our tour guide) was incredibly informative and possesses a wealth of knowledge, her presentation skills are also quite good and it is clear she loves her job.

The coffee from the cafe was actually the best I had all week!

We were only one night here last july, but it was very nice, cozy and we had a nice welcome with a breakfast basket. Very dark here so you can see the stars, make a campfire, etc. The only thing is: I fell in the dark from a 1-step high on my knee (in center), maby good to hang a light over there.. We've not been in the caves.

You have to pay for food just to go to there toilet which is silly why pay to use there free toilet i think its just stupid had to buy something just to use there toilet as it says there as well not going there again and just to go look at a cave it takes 2 hours walk with a guide not doing that no way i can't walk long and too far distance so i didnt go there yesterday as it cost for kids $30.00 each and for adults $40.00 each not wasting my money on a 2 hour walk just too look at a silly cave no way and online they got false information about it it as well says its free well went there yesterday and its not free false leading information can get people into trouble for lying about something saying its free but when you go there its not free so im not going there to waste my money and time at least i can walk everywhere without paying a cent

Amazing! Worth the stop. We did it with 3 kids 3-7yrs old. Definitely recommend doing the zig zag exit for an adventure. Taught our kids they could tackle scary things. Thanks for a wonder family memory.

Great experience. Did the cathedral tour, the tour guide was lovely and engaging. Very interesting place, we just got lucky on dropping in while seeing a sign on the highway, but it is best to plan a time, as you can t gain entry without a tour guide.

Although lacking the beauty of other caves, the Capricorn Caves make up for in adventure. The guide, Christian was very knowledgeable and kept the trip lighthearted. I kind of wish there'd be more to do there. No internet or phone reception at centre!

About Capricorn Caves

Capricorn Caves - Exploring the Wonders of Nature

Capricorn Caves is a unique tourist destination located in the north of Rockhampton, Queensland. The caves are a spectacular system of above-ground caves that have been formed over millions of years in a limestone ridge. The Capricorn Caves offer visitors an opportunity to explore and experience the wonders of nature.

The Capricorn Caves are home to some of the most stunning natural formations in Australia. Visitors can marvel at stalactites, stalagmites, flowstones, and other incredible rock formations that have been created by water dripping through limestone over thousands of years. The caves also feature underground streams and pools that add to their beauty.

One thing that sets Capricorn Caves apart from other cave systems is its accessibility. Unlike many underground cave systems, visitors do not need to be physically fit or experienced cavers to explore these caves. The majority of the cave system is above ground and easily accessible via well-maintained walkways.

Visitors can choose from several guided tours offered by Capricorn Caves depending on their interests and fitness levels. For those who want an easy stroll through the caves, there's a 45-minute tour called Cathedral Cave Tour which takes you through some magnificent chambers with impressive acoustics where concerts are held regularly throughout the year.

For those who want more adventure, there's an Adventure Tour which takes you deeper into the cave system where you'll crawl through narrow passages and climb up steep inclines before emerging into vast caverns filled with awe-inspiring rock formations.

If you're looking for something truly unique, then consider taking part in one of Capricorn Cave's special events such as their Underground Opera or Christmas Carols Concerts held annually during December.

Aside from exploring the caves themselves, there are plenty more activities available at Capricorn Caves for visitors to enjoy including abseiling down cliffs overlooking picturesque landscapes or taking part in guided bushwalks around nearby national parks where wildlife such as kangaroos and wallabies can be spotted along with rare bird species like black cockatoos or wedge-tailed eagles soaring overhead!

Capricorn Caves also offers accommodation options for those who want to stay overnight within walking distance from this natural wonderland! There are several types available including cabins nestled amongst trees offering privacy while still being close enough so guests can hear sounds emanating from inside these ancient caverns!

In conclusion, if you're looking for an unforgettable experience exploring one-of-a-kind natural wonders then look no further than Capricorn Caves! With its accessibility combined with breathtaking scenery both above ground as well as below it makes this destination perfect for all ages whether they're seasoned adventurers or first-time explorers!
