Springboad Media saved my iMac from certain doom. They replaced its hard drive and performed a data transfer, restoring it to full function. The service took a little over a week to perform but I was updated with its progress throughout the repair. Thanks,

The lady at the desk with the poofy fro is super snobby with her comments. The bald guy with the glasses acts like he knows everything when all he s trying to do is make you pay more money. Very bad customer service. These people must be unhappy in their personal life and bring that into the work space. Not professional, only go here if you have an arm and a leg to spare.

Hmmmm, I read the posts here, but my experiences with them ( Springboard) over past two years has been very good. Good on explanations, good on service and the owner was available when I was having a problem with Apple and fought to get them to make things right. There is a new Apple store opening, and Im sure it will get more competitive. I would bet on the local guys working even harder. I like Apple to, and they do a lot of things right, but Im gonna stick with the local guys.

Brought my MacBook for repair. It costs me $117 to check what's wrong. Took them 5 days to call me and they just told me it won't reset and it would cost $650 to $690 to repair. I decided to cancel the service and brought it to Apple Store and it costs me $475 for the whole thing. No hassles. No extra charge for checking up. Nothing else.
On the bright side, the staffs are friendly and responsive here but their service is over-charged. I won't go back to this place.

Customer service guy Greg forgot who I was and literally was making fun of the things I said to him to another customer next to me. He was mocking me to another customer....he was saying.."oh and this guy came in and he said.....and they had a good laugh while I was seething next to him. What a total douche. I will never buy anything from them again for me or my business. Neither will my wife. I hope he gets fired.

I am the owner of Open City Healing Arts, a busy acupuncture practice in Center City. When my credit card reader quit working and I narrowed the problem down to the audiojack of my iphone I dropped by the big noisy Apple store and was politely told to go away, make an appointment online and come back next week.
I then called Springboard, where a friendly guy named Sung looked in the jack with a special light, and then picked a big wad of lint out of it with a paperclip, and then took the time to make sure the card reader was functioning. I was so grateful, I offered him a free treatment!

My 2012 MacBook randomly stopped working this past...

My 2012 MacBook randomly stopped working this past weekend. Being a senior at Temple University, this is a travesty to me. When I would restart it, a folder would appear with a flashing question mark. After doing some research myself, I learned the issue was the hardware bracket being loose, all signs led to this and (extended warranty replacement was free) so I booked an appointment at Springboard Media (because they are an authorized dealer) as well as the Apple Store. When I walked into Springboard I explained what I thought the issue was and was told by the man who greeted me that he wasn't a technician so he couldn't give me anymore info.

Right off the bat they wanted money. $118 to even look at the computer. Another $100 to speed up the process from one week to three days. The only appealing part of the offer was the freenloaner computer.

The technician was named Song. I told him what I had learned from my research but he didn't want to hear me out. He ran a diagostic in front of me and said he needed to take it in the back. He proceeded to come out from the back with the bottom of the computer removed and told me it was a water damage issue. First off, there is no way there could be water damage because I have never gotten the computer wet. Second, he told me that if I went to Apple they would send me right back there so there was no point in wasting my time (a blatent lie). Thirdly, I was told that the Apple Store doesn't do repairs in stores they only ship out and they would charge me for the services.

All three of these statements are false.

Apple covered the hardware bracket FOR FREE under extended warranty. They are fixing the issue in the Walnut location and I can pick up within 3 days max.

I am disappointed and offended that the people at Springboard would try to scam me. I feel scammed. It seems they told me these fallacies because they wanted my money. I feel taken advantage of. They were very pushy on trying to get me to repair, which they told me would cost $900 upfront, and I could not make payments, or they wanted me to trade in, and buy their extended care plan as well.

I don't understand why Song refused to hear me out about the bracket issue when it is a known defect. I don't know why they told me that I'd be directed back to them for repairs or that Apple would send out my computer and charge me for these repairs. Both Blatant lies.

Needless to say, I am not impressed with the service at this place and never will I ever go back to a repair shop over Apple, even if they are an authorized provider.

If you wanna fix your computer in this place, be careful!!! Very bad experience and ridiculous expensive. I have a Mac book pro, they charged me $120 just for checking. And I waited for more than 10 days nobody told me what s going on, I had to call them to find out my hard drive broke, they wanted to charge me $1200 to recover my data or$700 to replace it!!!!!! Everyone thought this is crazy! So I brought to a place my friend recommended and found out my hard drive is not broken!!!! Only my operating system is corrupted! And the data recovery is only $180. I just feel being cheated and really angry about springboard! Never ever will go there and definitely tell everyone I know!

Long before there was such a thing as an "Apple Store", there was Springboard Media. This place has always been a haven for Philadelphia's Mac-lovers. The product selection is great, but t he best part is the people. This is a group that really knows Apple products and the entire ecosystem built around them. More importantly, they know customer service and really value long-term customer relationships.

My iPhone was completely wiped clean by a consulta...

My iPhone was completely wiped clean by a consultant. She did not adequately explain to me that's what was going to happen. I am upset about the lack of communication about the extent of data that would be erased. She told me my phone would be "restored" and asked me if I had backed it up to the cloud (which I had), but I lost all my text messages, all my voice memos, all my voice mails, and all the data that automatically allowed me to sign in to apps. The cloud backup took 12 hours (which at least brought back my photos and contacts) but I was not informed that this would happen ahead of time.
I was upset when I left the store, and told the consultant that she did not properly communicate to me what would happen by "restoring" my phone. I suppose the onus is on the customer to ask more questions and understand what you're doing when you ask someone to fix what seems to be a simple glitch/slow down in your text messages.
The further I get into trying to access information that I had previously used daily, the more frustrated I become. I know that this is just a phone. I know that in the scheme of things I should not be so attached to these things. So many things were lost, though, including insights, thoughts, and a lot of work.
Lessons learned: ask more questions and if you have something that's important (like thoughts or memories or insights or philosophies), make sure you have a backup... I just invested in another paper journal.

The team here is terrible. One of the staff here does not even keep track of product updates, and could not tell if they had old models or new ones.

Buying here always has hidden fees compared to the Apple Store down Walnut St.

Service isn't great either. The team is not really that knowledgeable about products compared to Apple Store. Just basic salespeople speak. I don't know why anyone would visit this shop when there's a real Apple Store just down the road.

Look at how there s essentially no 2-4 star reviews. Obviously fake 5 star reviews by paid staffs trying to drown out the numerous 1 stars reviews.

A few hours after posting my review, I was contacted directly by the owner of Springboard Media, Everett Katzen. Everett is a very nice guy and seemed throroughly concerned about my issue with my hard drive and offered to rectify the situation. I truly appreciated his empathy and based on the way he handled the situation alone, I would recommend this place to anyone looking to buy Apple Products. He truly cares about his customers.

Springboard Media are in a class by themselves when it comes to customer service and support. I have purchased all of my Apple products from them for years and I see no reason to ever change that practice. My computer is used every day. My projects can't wait for the 3-5 days it would take the Apple store to get around to repairing my equipment. Springboard sends me a temporary loaner computer to ensure I'm down for the least amount of time. When my old computer gets slow and creaky, they will sell me a new one and put my old one on consignment to help offset the cost. They are a locally owned store that out performs the giant corporate competition on customer service and value.

I'm sure it's tough for these guys now that the Apple store in center city has opened up. This place can't compete with their selection, but they are a certified Apple service center, and they do a great job. More options, and sub-Apple prices.

If you need service (or an upgrade, etc.) on your Mac, I'd bring it here before I took it to the Apple store.

I brought my Mac in and they replaced the hard drive, I paid for a drive and it has a 1 year warranty. Since they installed the new drive, I have had nothing but problems with the machine, which had worked perfectly prior to the hard drive fauliure and springboard service. The machine failed to start just weeks after service so I had to bring it back to springboard. They told me since it was a recent repair, I'd have priority service. Well, it took them abt 6 days to return the machine to me. Now, the new hard drive has failed altogether. The drive is under warranty, but since springboard only warrants their "service" for 90 days, they wanted another $109 to diagnose it, even though Apple had diagnosed it as a problem with the hard drive. The worst part is they told me even if I paid for the diagnostic and the drive (which is under warranty) turned out to be in fact dead, they would not refund my diagnostic fee. All this within 5 month of them installing a drive with a one year warranty. I'm back at Apple where they diagnose for free.
Update: Apple claimed that the drive springboard installed was the wrong size, and they added a shim to keep it from shifting and getting disconnected. But the computer would still not boot. I went back to springboard to tell them what apple said, and a MANAGER finally agreed to look at my mac without paying another check in fee. It was checked in for priority service but still took 4 days or so for them to look at it. They could not find the problem, sent me home with my computer still not working. I wound up finding a corrupt file and fixed it myself. This should never have been so difficult. If you have trouble here, make sure you deal with a manager to sort it out.

I've purchased my laptop and all other hardware from springboard for the last few years. I went in because I was in the middle of changing a hard drive and needed to swap the retaining screws. Anyone who has changed a hard drive knows that it takes about 30 seconds to do. They wanted to charge me 30 dollars and wait a few hours. I asked if I could PAY them to USE their screw driver right there at the desk and was quickly denied. I went to radioshack and purchased a driver set for 20 dollars and did it myself. Thanks for nothing. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.
