Short & Sweet - Needed parts by a specific time...paid the super expensive shipping costs...RockAuto website specifically said they would be here on time...placed order...received shipping email indicating that parts would not show up until almost a week later...tried customer support...even called corporate...got NO HELP WHATSOEVER!!!

I have been a customer of RockAuto from back when the first started up. I've seen a lot of great changes happen and through all that the prices have remained the best; they are even cheaper than Amazon! I've had to return a part and the experience was easy. I had several parts accidentally shipped to my old address and someone from RockAuto called and left me a message as to the where-about's of my order. Now that's customer service!!!! I will always continue to use RockAuto.

Ordered control arms for my truck. The discription did not include the type of material but looked correct.
When I received the part it was not correct. The told me that I would have to pay to return the part. That they are only a warehouse and don't know anything about the parts. (of course they don't say that in their ads or on their website.
Once they gave me my refund it was not what I had spent. They then charge you the shipping to you also.
It is almost impossible to call and talk to a person. They just keep telling you to click the green button on the web site and do it all online and basically not to bother them.
Once you get ahold of customer service they are very rude. I did not even finish tell him my issue and he stopped me. They don't give a S_ _ _ about their customers just making money. He told me that are self service and that is it.
I will order my parts from other companies that care about giving service and a fair price such as Jegs or Summit or one of the many mail order companies or walk in to a local part store.

Cheap prices, but you get what you pay for. In this case, ZERO customer service, literally NO availability. Not even an email or chat line is available; just a self service guide, which solves nothing. So, I can't contact anyone about my order. I guess I have to cancel/charge back the payment and let RockAuto figure it out. NEVER again!

I was quoted over $400 for a fuel pump from a dealer and more than $300 from a national auto parts store. Rock Auto had one for under $100 including shipping. The parts were packaged well, arrived very quickly. First time I have ordered from them but it sure won't be the last.

I ordered shock absorbers for both the front and rear of my truck. On their web site they were advertising a rebate. When I got the shocks it was apparent that one of them had been repackaged and was missing the needed UPC code. I wrote to their customer service department, it was the typical run around response that a bad company will give you. They don't take any responsibility and put all the blame on the customer. And now I'm getting a response that reads "Your email could not be received because Ticket ###### has been closed". I actually think they can read the emails but just send it to people they really don't care to hear from any more. I wonder if they take the UPC codes off an occasional box and send in for the rebates themselves! I'm taking my business elsewhere.

When there is a problem with your order, Customer Service will direct you to their automated website instead of taking ownership for their mistakes and trying to help you out. They will cowardly hide behind the curtain of the internet instead of stepping up to resolve their neglect and oversight in a timely manner.
I thought I could save a few dollars by shopping on the internet, but when I ordered a brand new alternator, they delivered an open box part that had been checked back into inventory without being inspected, and was delivered to me with a bent pulley. When I gave them a opportunity to make it right, they refused to expedite any solution, instead directing me to their website and telling me it would be between 3-5 days before I would get my part.
Since my vehicle was down, I turned to my local parts store, expecting to pay more for the same new part, but pas pleasantly surprised when they came back $30 cheaper on the same part and could get it to me the next day.
Do yourself a favor and give your local guys a shot before you buy anything from this company.

I had the worst experience with this company purchased parts using their picker they didn't fit and then was hung out to dry by them . I would use a company that allows you ti input your vin and fitment guarantees. I think they count on this for part of their sales

I have got a few items from Rock Auto. I'm 90% satisfied. Most are great parts at a great price. My last item is the fuel tank filler neck. This was to be an exact fit part. I did replace the old one and it did fit. When I went to put the gas cap on, it didn't fit. The original is a twist and click type. The new filler neck accepts the threaded type gas cap. I'm finding it difficult to find the correct gas cap on their site. I also can't get a human through customer service to call me.

Have been buying auto parts from Rock Auto since 2009. In 5 years, I never had a bad experience!
Their site is GREAT! Smartly designed, easy to use and has a ton of info, including photos.
Shipping is lightning-fast and its cost is never a guess. Very handy signage for "same warehouse location" items - I always save a ton of $$ on shipping using these.
Once I had a semi-issue with one part - customer service responded quickly, were very cooperative and extremely reasonable. I ended up solving the problem myself but was impressed with their great attitude!
Value for money is great as well: for identical brands, Rock Auto's prices (even with shipping) are LOWER than at any parts store in Canada! (sometimes 50% less!) Selection, great brands and convenience are an added bonus.
Highly recommend to anyone.

I have recommended and will continue to recommend Rock Auto to my friends, family and anyone I know that is working on a vehicle. I always check prices on here before I even check with the parts store that is right around the corner, Rock Auto's prices are always lower and they have better quality parts than I can obtain locally.

I did some extensive research before I purchased the exhaust system from rock auto when it arrived the parts would not fit. I went to the returns section of the site and when I got to the end for returning they wanted me to pay the shipping to return the part. Of course they say it is discounted rate. It just so they make more money from consumers. I will never order another part from rock auto. I would encourage anyone thinking about using rock auto to consider purchasing your part locally where you can actually speak to a person when you have to return a part. I wish I would have.

First order with Rock Auto. They sent the wrong part , mind you their website indicated that the rear wheel hub for my 2008 Ford E350 Super Duty van that they were providing was the right part for my vehicle. Oh also, there was a small chip on machined surface near a bolt hole that could result in a leak. Don't think I will be ordering from then again anytime soon.

A friend and co-worker referred me to Rock Auto and I have placed several large orders in just one month and have had excellent customer service. All parts orders were quickly processed and were delivered quickly with no damage. The website is extremely well built, easy to use, and offers detailed information and many diffetent ootions. Best of all, the pricing is well below dealership prices and local auto parts store prices. I will definitely recommend Rock Auto to all my friends and customers. They sent a faulty part on order 162107838 - which I had shipped express. It was a Gates 34012 thermostat which the description stated -- still as of this writing 12/30/2020 -- included the seal. The box containing the part in the Rockauto sealed package was crushed and the seal was missing. I requested a replacement and the shipping was scheduled to take 6 days. That is one day after the repairs will be complete -- hence ordering express shipping. I delayed the repairs for a day and the replacement did come early BUT missing the same seal. Had to buy locally, entire thermostat (seal only would have to be ordered) -- which I could have done if there description was correct. There return policy is very easy but if you something beyond that, they do not have a customer service department at all. I only needed a $0.45 seal. I have pictures and emails for proof.

Customer service when you have an issue with their parts is pathetic. You can't speak to anyone..., only through e-mail and then they block your customer service ticket saying this ticket is now "closed" when they don't want to converse with you anymore. I had used them for years praising them for their low cost, but recently had orders with wrong and defective parts. I put up with this until my last order and decided to send them a message. It started out fine and then became all my fault, but this was absolutely not the case. They were stating inconsistencies in my last return that were just wrong and they knew it. In the final e-mail I received from them, they addressed me by the wrong name and then blocked my service ticket from any further correspondence. I was shocked that they would treat a long term customer like this. Oh, by the way, if you are wondering, this was over a $2.24 shortage to my refund.

Then I discovered Rock Auto, here is about 90% of all the parts I needed for my classic american made cars at a very fair price, fast shipping, good packaging and exactly right parts.

I have been ordering parts through Rock Auto for the last few years. haven't had many issues with them. The prices are fair and the parts are quality, however on 4/22/2016 I ordered the wrong Alternator. I took it out of the box and saw the plug was wrong. I set up the return and sent it back to them. Weeks of waiting on my refund, I get on their site and see that the part is non refundable.
I call the customer service to find out why and I am informed that the warehouse says there are marks on the tabs showing that it was installed. No the part was not installed. I took it out of the box and put it back in. That is it. So over a hundred dollars of my money they decide to keep. I am informed that they can give me the measly 35 dollars for the core. Right, on a refurbished Alternator that they will put back on their site and sale it to someone else. Never knew I needed to take pictures of parts I receive.
Very poor way of doing business. Any local parts store I've ever been to have ever not refunded money. The customer service is Crap. I WILL NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Never again. I've ordered many times from Rock and received great customer service. My last order contained one incorrect part although listed on their site as the correct one and when I contacted them by phone I was told I could return the part but it it would be on my dime. I emailed Rock directly from their website but got no response. Fortunately the part wasn't too expensive so I just kept it and purchased the correct one locally. I guess they have enough business and can afford to take a hard line with its customers.

Don't be fooled by reviews on Customer Lobby site. Looks as if they are paying someone to sort out the problems they are having with their service(Not sure, just my opinion). I know my service was zero.

I tried to call the company to request a credit for shipping, but there is no customer service department! You cannot call and speak to anyone. You must do everything online, and it's not easy to figure out.
I will never, ever do business with this company again.

The website is really basic (more of an HTML style website) and product descriptions need to be better, would also be nice to have pictures of the products so people have a better understanding of what they are buying. I have tried to navigate the website multiple times and can't figure out what some of the products are and everytime you click on info it just tells you the makers of the products and explains what each part is, without showing the actual product. There are great factory replacement parts on there but it is difficult to find the the "harder to find parts." I hope the website gets changed to be more descriptive of parts and give images of the actual product so it is easier to see what you are buying.

I went to the return area on your website and there was no option for the issue I had. I called, only to be told that you don't provide customer service over the phone.

I've used RockAuto several times in the past, and I like how easy it is to find what you are looking for and how they typically have several levels of parts to choose from. My latest experience was as exceptional as they have always been, simply looking for replacement fog lamps for my Jeep Cherokee to replace the frosty and cracked ones. I picked a pair that were 12 bucks each and came with new bulbs already in them. Installed them yesterday and the Jeep looks like new again! RockAuto is my "go-to" location for auto parts. Great quality parts for great prices... Couldn't ask for more than that.

I bought a fuel pressure regulator from you, I installed it because it looked the same, come to find out that the OD is too small for the snap ring and when the fuel pressure built up behind it the part came flying out. Now since I installed it it is my fault for buying the bad part. I guess the 30 orders I just got lucky. There is no customer service so I am out the money. Be sure the price is worth the risk if you buy from rockauto.com.

My old '95 Dakota workhorse hasn't had AC for over a decade. Bot a new compressor from RockAuto for only $130 (less than HALF the cost of AutoZone, Advanced, O'Reilly, Amazon, etc.....) Just did a DIY install with fresh 134a/PAG46. Gotta literally wear a freakin' winter coat in the cab now .
