Talk about dealing with some terrible customer service. Ordered 3 parts at 11 am PST (Thursday Feb 17th, 2017) to be delivered next day. Rockauto doesn't tell you when the parts will arrive until after the parts have been shipped. We'll I received 1 of the parts the next day (Friday 18th) I got an email late in the evening the Friday that I would receive the rest of the order on Monday 20th. I called to get a refund for the next day shipping and was told that I wouldn't get the refund. Not only that I realized that Monday is Presidents Day a holiday and will not receive parts I ordered next day. They will now arrive 5 days later Tuesday (Feb 21st). I called back and got the same treatment, not only that and what I'm really disappointed in is that the Rockauto Customer Service rep kept interrupting me. I asked him to stop interrupting and that I wasn't interrupting him. He didn't stop. I asked to speak to a supervisor and he then told me no. I asked multiple times to speak to a supervisor with the same response. What a dousch Nozzle! I will never recommend Rockauto to friends, family or business friend. I own a number of heavy trucks and would buy maintenance parts from them through a business account, that relationship has just came to an end. I never had issues before from Rockauto, I'm dumbfounded about how I was treated. Good luck Rockauto, I'm sure losing my business won't effect you. I'm done!

I am a 24-year-old DIY guy. I love shopping on RockAuto.com to save on part cost and do it myself. The website is self-explanatory and straightforward. There are few slow-to-load graphics to make browsing fast and simple. I am a fan of the fact that there is a "save vehicle" feature. I also really like using RockAuto to figure out what parts will fit and I tend to shop around to find the lowest prices on parts. RockAuto nearly 100% of the time wins out for the parts I buy. I only use other websites if I can get faster shipping for cheaper. That's the only thing that makes ordering from RockAuto a little hesitation, the shipping. But I understand that every decision of this company is to save me money and I usually am fine with waiting to start a project for the parts to arrive. I give RockAuto.com a 5-star rating!
I placed an ordered based on what the person on the phone said and it was the wrong part. I requested to return the part and followed their return process. I included photos, but according to them it would take about 1 business for them to call me back. 5 days later, no phone call. I called them and they said that I never submitted the photos, which I did. The person on the phone was rude and said to send the photos. I just sent the photos again and will wait as instructed. Not the best customer service and return policy. Update, they are now saying that I have to pay for shipping to return the part, even though I called them to confirm the part was for my car. I will never purchase anything from them. Terrible customer service.
I found RockAuto back in 2010 when I needed hard to find parts for a Classic car. To my delight they had the parts and in each case they cost less than anywhere else and they were perfect replacements. Ordering was simple, quick delivery, never needed to call or return anything. I since sold the classic but still use RockAuto for maintenance items for my and my wife's cars. Even the recent cabin air filter with shipping was 50% less than the local auto store and only took a couple minutes to change (because it was the first time)! Thanks RockAuto!!!
Airtex/Wells ignition coil was loose in the manufacturer's box and the plastic plug housing was broken so I had to tape over the break. RockAuto packaging was good and coil works good.

I have ordered parts from RockAuto three times over the last 4 years. The parts arrive on time, they were the correct parts and the savings was huge compared to dealer prices.RockAuto is solid as a rock in my book.
Complete lack of customer service will be the reason I do not order any more parts from RockAuto. I ordered an AC line, received the part and when I went to make the repair, came to find that the supplied part had the wrong end connection. I returned the part, still in completely unopened packaging. I was charged $20.84 to get this part and refunded only $6.55 because they charged me nearly $7 shipping both directions for a $13 part. I cannot think of another online shopping service that screws over its customers so much on shipping, and especially one that doesn't provide return labels free of charge, especially when the part is not correct and still 100% as received condition. I was never able to even talk to a real person in the process.
I've used RockAuto for many years and for many different vehicles. This was my first ever return experience. When they say that all it takes is one bad experience to drive a customer away, this is it for me.
Ordered an exhaust pipe Wed to arrive Fri. On Tuesday wondering where it was, we checked and all it said was there was a problem and it was returned to their warehouse. They reshipped it from a different one.
So 2 day shipping turned into 8 days. Typical RA. Try to use as little as possible, better to buy online at one of the major parts store and pick up, or go through Amazon
I have bought many parts from them, excellent service. Very well priced, way cheaper than any auto parts store I have been to. I tell all my friends to go there.
Rock auto will not back your parts if they are wrong. They also won't refund any part you return more than 30 days. This is a joke. Pay the extra few dollars from your local parts store.
Customer Service, they do not know what those 2 words mean !!!!! In retail or hiding in cyberspace they mean HELP THE CUSTOMER not give them programmed responses. Every situation is unique so you need to adjust accordingly
Hate to only give 2 stars. Bought parts for a brake line repair. Had what I thought was a 25% discount email but lost it so I called CS. (Brian) very forward and rudely interrupted me as I was talking and said "you mean 5%", looked up my email and said "we have no discounts for you"...(cricket cricket). The website, prices & shipping are great but CS is another story...

These guys are crooks. They knowingly ship you parts that do not fit then build all kinds of barriers to your returning the parts. A metal part either has holes where they belong, or it does not. When they ship you stuff with the holes in the wrong place -- and when internet search shows that other people have had the same problem -- then they are crooks.
The parts were exactly what I was wanting everytime I have ordered from here. Also, arrive in a very timely manner. My family and I dont go to regular parts store now. We are really happy with everything about Rock Auto! Thank you all for such a wonderful experience everytime!!!
Order some struts put them Car they was bad call about person was very rude end up sending parts back out of cost 60.00 company would not pay shipping to get bad product back I think that wrong to do customers like could sent shipping label for return of there bad product
I purchased a part from them that required a $150 core charge. I received that part and delivered it to my mechanic. The core was returned to me. It was not until I went to arrange a core charge refund that the return policy was presented to me. It stated that the core must be returned in its original box. Without it there would be no refund. I contacted customer service (no human interaction available, only email) to explain to them that the box was damaged and disposed of by the mechanic. After several emails they put the fault on the manufacturer (Cardone) and that they would not accept the core without the box. I contacted Cardone, they have no such policy and they would accept the core from Rockauto without the original box. After contacting RockAuto again to relay this information I was told that I was not going to get my core charge back and that all further emails would be ignored. I stated to RockAuto that their core policy is NOT clearly stated until it is time to return it. And that the requirement to retain the original box should be clearly printed on the packing list in the box (where the core return "accept by date" is printed) of on the original box. This clearly seems to be a way to keep my money, $150 and not a requirement of the manufacturer. I will never do business with them and do not suggest anyone else do business with a company that is so unwilling to make an exception in a situation as this.
Fantastic Price and Fast Shipping. So glad I found Rock Auto. The number of parts you can choose from different manufactures is fantastic and they offered First Class shipping (1-4 days) as it comes by Air to Hawaii. Standard shipping (3-5 weeks on the boat to HI) like so many others. Do yourself a favor and just compare prices of the exact same parts being sold by other vendors; you'll be glad you did, I was. Why pay more for the exact same part? All you got to lose is money ;-)
. . .. Just some advice to those who purchase Auto Parts from any vendor, do your homework on the part(s) first. Example, my 2001 F150 has so many variables when it comes to parts that I always verify with the dealer what the actual part number is and I get a price. Once you get the actual dealer part# you can type it into any web site and see who else makes it. Rock Auto is a distributor, not a manufacturer. Ford used 3 different fuel pumps on this year depending on Engine Size, Cab Size (2-4 door) and bed length that assuming you can just go on the internet and get the correct part is a shot in the dark. One can not expect any Vendor (except for the maker of the vehicle) to know all of this information. It is impossible. Ford is very tight with their information. Just try and go on any of Ford's Parts websites and you will not see a picture of the part, if you are lucky, they may show you the parts diagram with the part highlighted in yellow which does not mean much because a lot of times the part has been modified over the years. If you are unwilling to verify that the part you are ordering is the correct one, you have only yourself to blame. I say this because all car manufactures can/will use different parts for the same model and years at their discretion, so do yourself a favor and do the research first. It takes all of 10 minutes to email 5 different dealers with your VIN# for verification of the correct part for your ride. Simple as that. Another example for my truck is Ford recommended 5W-30W oil for it when it was brand new but over time they realized that the 30W was to thick and would gum up the tensioner for the timing chains so Ford issued a TBS (Technical Service Bulletin) and changed the recommendation to 5W-20W oil. Their are hundreds of TBS's released every years by the dealers and the only way to know is to look them up. If you just read your owners manual, you would never know this. I only buy the FSM, (Factory Service Manual) the ones the Dealer Mechanics use as they contain the parts diagram with the part number (which will be different from the web site) but be aware you are not completely informed and if a TBS is issued, it will render that information as outdated. How do I know these things? I used to be a Mechanic before I retired ;-) One must learn to play the game as the dealer wants you to get frustrated and take the car to them. One must also remember that the dealer makes very few of their parts, others do, it's like oils, it all comes from Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, North Dakota, etc, you pay more for the additives that put into it or the brand name, nothing more. If it meets OEM specs, then you should be good to go. I hope I have helped with this information. - Mahalo

I got a lot of parts from RockAuto arrive on time and never had a wrong parts sent to me and what i like the most is they have AC Delco Parts and the price is cheaper then dealer price,I'am sold on Rockauto.
Order was placed for a particular part (LH) and a (RH) part was shipped. Rock Auto would not correct their error. There is no "readily available" customer service number that can be used to discuss a problem, only an on-line process which summarily determines your fate. The part in issue cost less than the "jacked up" shipping costs so I was beat out of less than $20 total. Lesson learned; I would not purchase from them on-line again, especially anything of significant value. Instead I would use one of the national brand stores' on-line service and pick the parts up locally.
Absolutely Fantastic! Ordered parts with a small window of opportunity to work on the car and get it running. Parts showed as arrival day before and 3 days after window of opportunity. Wish I could give no stars they sent me the wrong part because it was label wrong on their website. They will not give me a full refund and you won't be able to reach customer service unless you put a complaint into better business Bureau.
Great prices, great online ordering system, great fast shipping. Terrible customer service when they send you a incorrect part. I ordered front brake pads for my car and followed their select a vehicle guide so I would get the right parts. Sure enough, I got the wrong pads. Not only the wrong size, but the wrong type all together. Now, this is my first one star review I've ever given but let me tell you why.
First, I needed the pads right away because my brakes were getting really low and I didn't want to hurt the rotors. In order for me to get my new, correct pads, they would not do an exchange and get the parts coming immediately. They suggested I buy the correct set of pads while they look into the wrong ones.
Hesitantly, I ordered the correct pads because I really needed them.
Then, they called back asking me to take a picture of the pads that came off my car! They want me to pull the brake pads off even though I'm yet doing my brake job because I'm waiting for them to send the right pads!
To be helpful and speed things along, I navigated the customer rep through their catalog to show them why the pads were wrong and even showed him pictures from their own catalog...he still needed a picture from my car. I even spoke to his manager and they claim the parts manufacturer requires a picture to be able to refund my shipping too.
Everything was great until I wanted a mistake of theirs fixed. They would not own up to it without me pulling teeth.
Quick to take my money, slow to give it back when they screw up.
Worst customer service ever! They sold us a defective part and hid behind emails as a way of not dealing directly with an upset customer. Even told us that they would stop responding to our emails when we requested to speak to a live person. When I called corporate to ask to speak to someone who could help us - was told there was no one to talk to and they hung up on me. This company has no integrity. They treat customers like garbage.
Best prices around. Best parts inventory around. I have bought twice from this company, and have had nothing but great experiences. I will continue to buy from these folks, and will happily recommend them to all my customers. Thanks again!
Outrageous shipping cost and didn't notify me that shipping to my PO box would cost three time normal.
Where I lived before I had hundreds of things shipped to my PO box from all over the world including shipping by UPS and Fed Ex to my PO Box at no additional cost. There was no reason for me to believe that it was going to cost me 30% additional to receive the products. The website is confusing and convoluted and the checkout is misleading about the cost.
Customer Service at Rock Auto is not any service at all and totally not interested in keeping you as a customer or fixing their website problems.
I have had two experiences with this company and there won't be another one. Both were bad and they weren't interested in responding positively to the matters.
The representative was just like a broken record and not willing to move in a positive direction to salvage the situation.
The additional cost wasn't made apparent until the transaction was over. I immediately sent an email to Rock Auto telling them "This order has a problem DO NOT TO SHIP THE ORDER until we have a telephone conversation" which was completely ignored by them.
They expect me to pay for original shipping cost to get a refund for sending me a part that they listed for my vehicle that is wrong. How am I libel for for that cost when it is their mistake!
I ordered a park assist camera for my 2013 Honda CRV. It does fit exactly in the same footprint of the old non-functioning original. I knew ordering it that it was not OEM but an alternate so not exact. My budget liked the price and I was able to have a functioning park assist camera again. Speedy shipping, way less expensive than other parts stores whether brick and mortar or on line. I will use them again.
Great selection of parts for just about any vehicle year make and model. Nobody can beat their prices from economy all the way up to oem dealer parts. The only problem I have is the parts never arrive on time sometimes making me look bad to my customers.
Used Rock Auto several times and have always been pleased. I'm sure one day there may be an issue with in order and I have faith enough in your company that you will do the best to correct the problem.
I've tried to Order Parts on several occassions. it seems there is always a problem with Credit Cards or Addresses. and can't get any help with these issuses. RockAuto would do a lot business with a help Dept.
Rock Auto is at the top of my list for auto parts.. The customer service is solid, I recently ordered a out of stock part they immediately contacted me and I was able to order a substitute they also gave me free shipping for the confusion. This all took maybe 5 minutes of my time. They are truly excellent!!!
First order from RockAuto and they had it shipped same day out the door. Arrived at my place in Canada exactly as they said via FedEx. Ordered a service from A1Cardone, through CrockAuto, although I probably use 3 parts a day from A1Cardone and understand stuff happens, A1Cardone cant help because it was purchased through another vendor. So CrockAuto requires I purchase the service again, pay shipping again, and hope that they can fix it right the second time!! Supposedly out of the control of any of there "Customer Service" Reps.....
This box was delivered completely messed up. When I went to drop it off at FedEx for return per the instructions of Rockauto, FedEx required me to have them repackage the shipment or they would not accept the return because the original box was so damaged. The original box you guys shipped the order in was twice the size of the part and during shipping, it was messed up as you can see by the pictures attached. I don't think it's fair that I'm charged the return label fee in addition to the repackaging fee as your shipping department should have packaged the parts in the appropriate sized box so it didn't arrive this way. I want a refund for the amount I had to pay to send your damaged goods back! After trying to email you guys multiple times, all you have to say is oh well then you guys block my email. THIS IS NOT A WAY TO DO BUSINESS.
My experience with RockAuto was awesome they had the part that I was needing they ship it out the same time I ordered it and I got it the next day sooner than I expected so I was able to complete my repair faster than I expected price for the part was reasonable as well thanks RockAuto
I have had nothing but good experiences with Rock Auto. I have recently had to return a defective part. They walked me through the entire process and gave me options. I use them exclusively for all my parts needs.
Rock Auto is now my 1st choice when I need to fix our vehicles; my local Auto Zone wins out only when the vehicle is needed today, otherwise Rock Auto gets our business...they should probably team up, they'd be unbeatable. Couldn't ship to a different address I guess because it was going to be 2 dollars cheaper! Sent me the wrong part. Then refused to upgade my shipping on the part that they screwed up in the first place. So two weeks to get a part and the free bonus is I got a free washer pump for a pontiac vibe!! That really helps my duramax front main seal problem. The guys on the phones were as smart as rocks.
I ordered parts in which the fedex driver lost I called fedex and they gave me a claim number and they told me to have rock auto call them with this claimed under so they could give me credit or re order my parts Rock auto wouldn't do it. The people in service must be teenagers because their response was very adolescent It's very stupid and annoying not to be able to talk to and live representative.
Do not order from Rock Auto, there ordering system is flawed. The wrong part was shipped and it will cost more to return the item then what the item costs. The practice is if you do not have the part ship something anyway. If shipping is too expensive the person will not return it.
Ordered an IAC for my boat on a Monday morning,delivery notice stated it was to be delivered in two weeks.The part arrived on Thursday,as ordered,installed on Friday and now out on the water.Excellent price,service,delivery and quality.Will recommend Rock Auto.....
Fitment information I entered showed me the headlight I needed for my RV and it was the exact part and perfect fit to replace the original equipment on my 2005 E-450 Super Duty chassis. Even came with a headlight bulb. Pretty good for $17.99 plus shipping. Will come back to Rockauto for any do it yourselfer part I think I can replace myself.
Ordered a re-manufactured part... it did not work. Returned for a replacement part... second part didn't work either. Online order says it's now non returnable. Spent close to $200 and still don't have a working part. Can't find a phone number to speak to anyone in customer service. Very poor customer service... especially for a family owned business.
Huge selection of parts through their network, and good prices. However, customer service is terrible. This time, I found a huge error in their catalogue (after I bought the part and had it shipped to South America.) I confirmed the error by comparing with Auto Parts Warehouse, which has the correct listings.
Rock Auto offers non-functioning telephone response in five languages, but pressing 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 (1 being English) produces only a recording saying (in English) "This is not a valid extention." If you send an e-mail, you will get a nasty and unresponsive reply. If you try to explain via their website why you want to return a part or had a problem with an order, and why returning the part is for some reason not possible, there is no way to enter an explanation. Easy to find parts in the online catalogue---which, it turns out, may or may not be correct. Also, some of their suppliers ship in hugely oversized boxes, which adds significantly to costs for those of us who rely on international air freight. Suggestions in this regard are treated by customer service e-mails both unpleasant and unresponsive.
Within 15 min of the speedy arrival of the 2 parts I ordered my 26 year old Volvo is running like new again. Very very pleased since the local shop had my car for three weeks and was at a loss how to fix same . Great prices and speedy delivery cannot ask for more. Stumbling on takeoff, no power, hesitation all fixed with a new fuel pressure regulator and fuel injection relay. Car runs perfect now. Thanks Rock Auto
First time ordering and probably last. Ordered a sensor from them on tuesday with 2-3 day shipping (which I paid extra for) Still have not received it. Now gotta wait till next week when I called to inquire, the rude lady said 2-3 day is just like regular mail which is more like 5-6 days. Well if that's the case, the don't charge people for faster shipping when you don't offer it. That's dishonest.
We ordered parts on a Saturday morning. Tuesday.. No parts delivered. Paid shipping which is high compared to other companies. I will not be using rock auto again.
Beware: Their website is not correct in determining what will fit your car/truck for whatever make/model you enter in. I selected some shocks for my truck, got them 2 weeks later and they didnt fit. Contacted the company as was told by "Ashley" it was my fault ordering the wrong shocks, even though the website said it fit. Yea, okay. I ask for a refund, so they take $20 off my refund to pay for the shipping to send back the wrong part they sent me. Makes sense.
Spend a few more bucks and go spend your money somewhere else. This out fit is sketch and I'm sure I'm not the first person this has happend to. Avoid these skeezers.
Poor customer service. Had fedex tell me RockAuto must adjust the address on a package. RockAuto tells me I have to do it. Serious customer service failure.

ordered a new distributor came quickly and complete, one week later the electronic module part of the new distributor quit working on my way to a much needed Drs. appt. leaving me stranded on the side of the road. I did buy the cheapest one listed but it didn't say good for one week only. Not sure if I could recommend them without reservation. I may buy from them in the future.
I ordered calipers and rotors from them. I got a phone call saying "our system had an incorrect quantity of this part and it is unavailable. please choose alternatives" so i went to the website, which said "the parts we informed you were out of stock are back in stock. click submit to continue with the order". BUT the shipping fee was 70 dollars higher! a week later of emails and phone calls, they tell me that the parts are coming from a different warehouse so the shipping charge is different, but they refuse to cover the extra charge, despite the fact that it was THEIR system that had an error. i bought the same parts from Advanced Auto for the same price. don't do business with these extortionists.

Will never use this company again!!! First time ordering and part gets returned to sender with no explanation to me of why it didn't get dropped off. Now I have to wait until money is refunded to go and find the part on another site. In the meantime it's below freezing and I'm without heat in my car. NOT HAPPY!
