If I could rate them with a negative score, I would. Single worst customer service experience I have ever had. I have placed two orders with them and both were screwed up. When I ordered, both times, all products showed up as in stock. They called back, both times, to tell me that the products I ordered were not at the warehouse listed on the website and not only would it cost more to ship them, it would also take longer. No apology. No effort to make it right. Just... "Do you want to cancel it or pay the additional shipping cost?" Each customer service representative was extremely rude and it is clear that this is part of their company culture. Terrible, terrible, terrible.

Great if your part works, awful when you need to do a return.

I've been a customer for 11 years without issues until now... Bought a part for my BMW and the URO brand part fail after driving the vehicle for 2 months. I discovered the particular part has a 1-4 month life span. My first thought was great it has a 24 month warranty!

The reality of the situation....

1.When dealing with this situation you have two options send the part back at your expense wait for replacement. (cost me time and use of my car so not a good option)

2.Buy another of the same part and receive a partial reimbursement. Shipping the part back is at your own expense. (better option but I have buy another one upfront and pay for shipping the defective one part!)

In my situation I would have loved for them to restock this part with a know issue and allow me to pay the difference for a different brand without the quality issues...

When asking for a solution to the problem no customer service solution or options were presented. In my case replacing this part by warranty every time cost more then buying a who new part in the long run.

** The Good thing*** I can car pool with friends and family while my part from amazon ships. Other may not be so lucky so hopefully this helps someone out.

So now I just buy from amazon since they're customer service does a pretty good job of protecting you from bad products.

I ordered brakes from Rock Auto, it shipped immediately, and had tracking info almost right away as well. Problem is, I never received info that it was out for delivery, and it was just dropped off on my doorstep instead of having a pick up tag or saying it will be delivered at a later date. Companies in this day and age should not be dropping off on the steps of a household, especially when said house doesnt even have a fence around the deck or anything to hide the parcel. Improve your shipping methods, and you will be a perfect company to buy from!

They sent the wrong fuel cap for my car and said that they could not accept my return or refund me as I attempted to see if the fuel cap fit on my car. I explained that it's just screwing it on, what am I supposed to do otherwise?! They see this as I "installed" the part and that voids returns. Weird. Can't be trusted, probably nickle & diming a lot of people this way as no one will argue too much for a $7 part. Easier for me to just not shop there again.

Terrible customer service. My order was supposed to be delivered today, and it wasn't.
Usps tracking hasn't been updated since RockAuto told me it was shipped. According to the post office, they were never given the package, but yet RockAuto says it's in transit.
After contacting them about the problem, I was told to wait another week, and then go to their website and fill out a complaint form.
I sent them another email demanding a replacement, and they never responded, but they gladly took my hard earned money.
I will never do business with them again.

I am zero for two. My first order was for a o2 sensor for my Subaru. I got a rear when I ordered a front. My second order was a heater blower motor. The plug was different than the original. In the process of redneck engineering a solution I blew a blower motor resistor ($75 part). It has cost me more in time, money and aggrivation than just going to Napa or AutoZone. They seem to have a great selection and prices but I will not be ordering from them again.

I discovered Rock Auto a few years ago.
If you don't need the part tomorrow, and want to spend less money than at the local parts store, it would be worth your time to check them out.
I am a professional mechanic and I compare prices. Two local auto parts stores with which I have commercial accounts and "special pricing" can't match prices with Rock Auto. The only advantage is part availability... if they stock the part! If they have to order from another store or the warehouse, that advantage disappears!
I note that several reviews complain about erroneous orders, defective parts, slow shipping. You can experience these things at your local parts store as well... and pay more in the bargain! Personally, I have yet to experience any of these things in my dealings with Rock Auto. Items arrive well packed, delivery time is usually faster than promised, and I have yet to experience problems with an order.
I worked in an auto parts warehouse for several years. I can tell you that NO auto parts store has a perfect record on all counts. But this store comes very close.

We have ordered a half dozen or so times over the past year and always have been very happy with the service. The savings are well worth waiting a couple of days to have parts shipped as opposed to buying from retail stores. I mistakenly ordered the wrong shock once and RockAuto credited my account for the full amount, without any hassle at all. They frequently give us 5% off future orders and always have what we need in stock. Thank you for giving us such a great online choice.

Very reasonable pricing and their return/exchange policy for a damaged radiator was fast with no hassle. Sometimes parts are not found in the menu for a vehicle, yet if you search with an OEM number, the part shows somewhere else on the site. This should be fixed as it takes a lot of doing to get an OEM number.

Don't ever buy nothing from these people when it comes time to send a return or core there is absolutely no way to get a hold of customer service I don't even believe there is a customer service when you go to the site to update your return with the tracking the site doesn't work right and won't let you enter the tracking number which in turn makes it Impossible to update return status at this point I don't know if I'm going to get my refund or not they look for every excuse to not refund your money if there's one thing wrong with the shipping or a piece of paper that was supposed to be packed with the return was missing you don't get your money back

I purchased a harmonic balancer for my 2000 jeep. Paid over night shipping got here in two days? Spent 7 hours taking the front clip off and then an hour or so with the balancer. And then 4 hours putting everything back together. I fill her up start her up and everything good. Pull out my garage and driver her around pull up to park her back in the garage and I herd lots of banging under the hood. Shut her down pop hood open to find that the new harmonic balancer I just bought shattered hitting my battery radiator and air box. Now I can't do anything and I can't talk to a human. I've tried for hours.

Then I saw the commercial for RockAuto and I found the same parts for 6$ EACH!!!! Had delivered in 3 days cost me 9$ for delivery (Totally worth it). So I spent roughly 21 for both parts total when the dealer wanted $80... Oh yea I am going to be shopping here ALOT! The parts were different than the stock ones from Hyundai... they were better! Much sturdier, made of steel rather then aluminum.

Even though their prices are good, a lot of the parts they sell are the cheap, Chinese-made parts that do not fit or work well. Case in point, I am on my 2nd AC control for a Jeep in just a few months. The part is junk. Another problem is you can only exchange a part under warranty for the exact same thing. So, if you end up with a junk part, you are basically stuck with it. You will also have to pay for shipping for any return even though you received a defective part. And yes, the new control has been in my jeep for 2 weeks and is already starting to act up. So, I will be off to Mopar place to get a real part. So be aware, if you buy parts from RockAuto make sure you are buying name brand parts or else you will be disappointed. Another issue is with their customer service. My take is, they are always right and the customer is always wrong. Just read more reviews in addition to this one to see what I mean. I followed directions that I got in an email and then found out that wasn t the correct flaming hoop to jump through. In the end, it cost me additional shipping charges for returns even though I followed the email directions. I never trust companies who hide behind a website and don t display a phone number. You have to go back and forth via email and cannot speak with anyone. Customer service is terrible. I suggest you find another resource for your parts needs, I cannot recommend RockAuto.

Complete lack of customer service have been waiting for several days over a week contact customer multiple times and one response telling me to wait I have lost money because I was told when my stuff would arrive so mechanic started but can't finish yet I got everything but two items makes no sense but be aware people may be cheaper but customer service is nonexistant and takes a lo g time to get your stuff and sad thing is I have been loyal customer for years but does not matter in this day and age!!!

Price was the lowest I could find, service was excellent and the match flawless. My satisfaction is so pleasant, I just placed another order with them for twice the value of this order.

Ordered parts 9 days ago and paid $15 extra for USPS priority shipping, which according to USPS takes 1-3 business days. I am still without my parts which were needed urgently which is why I paid extra for express shipping. Tried to contact Rock auto but apparently they don't offer customer service over the phone anymore, only email. This should have been a huge red flag. I guess they were tired of listening to all if their upset customers. I was told that they can't do anything about the situation until after February 1st because that's the time frame for USPS express shipping! I sent them a direct link to USPS priority webpage showing that is 1-3 business days, NOT 2 WEEKS! I wouldn't have paid extra for express shipping if it takes the same amount of time as Free standard shipping. All I asked for is a refund on the shipping costs and they keep telling me I am wrong even though I have the receipts to back me up. This company is worthless, NEVER AGAIN! I just hope I finally get my parts as I've had 2 cars out if commission for almost 2 weeks now due to waiting on them to send me the parts. Absolutely ridiculous.

This company is willing to loose a customer over $16. They have no telephone customer service. They insulate themselves from anyone who has a legitimate complaint.

The part that I had ordered was supposedly "damaged in shipping" and never arrived. I notified RockAuto and customer service sent an email saying that a refund would be issued. I asked them to just send another part instead. Their reply was "the part is no longer in stock from the same supplier, and we do not know if/when the part will be available again".

I went back to the catalog, and there it was. The same part I ordered available with a 1 day delay. The only difference was that the price had gone up. Customer service ignored my subsequent emails and issued the refund instead of sending another part.

They gave me a $15.00 discount and FREE SHIPPING (for my troubles) on my next order, BUT, now I had to wait until Sept 9 thru Sept 13 for delivery although their order site states they had the item "IN STOCK" (THIS WAS NOT TRUE); I had placed the original order on Aug 8; For several days with a car on the floor not able to move I pondered what could I do; then I remembered RockAuto; My problem was solved WITHIN (1) ONE WEEK, 5 working days, WITHOUT ANY HIDDEN AJENDAS OR EXCUSES; Lovely and Pure Customer Service!!

I ordered my Bosch brand (OEM) Fuel Pressure Sensor yesterday for $33. It is the EXACT part that came on my car and the Volvo dealer wanted $280 for it. Rock Auto ROCKS! I paid $12 for the expedited shipping and it was in my hand in less than 24 hours from when I ordered it! This type of service can't be beat!

This is not my first experience with Rock Auto. I once had to return some parts that I received that clearly had been installed previously and apparently returned. They accepted the parts back and gave me a full credit with no hassles.

As far as the complaints regarding the "cheap, low quality parts" that some have complained about, I always make it a rule to only buy the best parts that are available. Rock Auto's prices on the best quality parts are still cheaper than the "discount" parts at my local parts store.

Great selection and prices. Poor customer service. It is almost impossible to talk to a live person if you have a question about an order you are about to place. They just don't want to talk to you until AFTER you have ordered from them. When you call them (and it is difficult to find their telephone number on their website), their voice mail prompts leave out any reference to getting in contact with a customer service rep if you have questions about an order you are about to place. It allows you to talk to a rep about a previously placed order, or to return an order. But, there are no prompts for you to talk to a rep if you have questions about an order you are about to place. Terrible customer service!

That being said, I have been able to get great products at a great price. Just wish they put a little effort into helping their customers. They are terrible, in that regard.

Worst customer support ever. No way to reach a person who can actually help with a problem not listed on their web site. Often times parts are listed to fit multiple vehicles and they don't. If this company was registered on the BBB it would have been shut down by now. I am one more issue away from taking my business's business elsewhere! For what I spend a year with them they should CALL me back right away when I have an issue. This time I've had the same problem since SEPTEMBER - going on 4 months and it's still not resolved. Thanks RA for nothing! Enjoy the 1 star. Next time call me back or resolve my question.

Rock Auto supplies affordable, quality parts. I hate dealing with the poor customer service and lack of auto repair knowledge at local chain stores. Rock Auto provides excellent customer service. I have never been disappointed with price, product, or services. The only thing the local auto parts stores are good for is the disposal of used oil. All my DIY auto repairs will be done through Rock Auto parts.

Parts came lightning fast, 4 days sooner than the earliest expectation, they were the right parts as described and had my car driving smooth a weekend sooner than expected! I have used rock auto to keep my old cars running wile I don't have the money to spend else where. The only gripe I have is the shipping. They have several ware houses all over the U.S. so you may have to pay separate shipping on your items. But when you figure out how to use the web site, it's the greatest out there. The shipping is always on time or even a day or two before they say it will be there. Great people and great prices.

If you look up the correct parts for your vehicle, you can do pretty well saving a buck with these guys.
I had a defective spark plug wire and had no problem getting it replaced under warranty.
I also had an issue with a leaky AC compressor, but by the time I found the source of the leak was the compressor, it was out of warranty and the company said they couldn't do anything for me.
A/C leaks are often very slow and can be difficult to pinpoint.

If you take just a little time and make sure all the specs are right for the parts in which you are ordering there is absolutely no place better or cheaper to order parts from. The parts are here several days early and they are exactly what I ordered. All the parts were packaged very well and brought straight to my front door from ordering on the couch. No better place in the world to order!!!!

I have been ordering through RockAuto now for about 8 months. So far I have been very pleased. Easy ordering, best prices, and fast shipping. I know people who have had a problem with their customer service. I haven't had to deal with them yet because all of the parts I have ordered thus far have been correct. From what I know, I will order through RockAuto until I have a problem. Then I will see how I am treated when or if I have a problem. So far very very pleased!

Placed a $200 order not long ago. Only part that got right was the radiator. Radiator cap didn't fit. And brake set was for a 4wd not 2wd.. they apparently list 4wd stuff with the 2wd stuff (logical right? Because when you put your car is 2wd you expect it to only list 2wd parts!!!!!!) Won't correct it. Ben from customer service was especially rude. Cutting me off. Acting better than I. Said he would put me in line to talk to someone else not so rude and instead hung up.

How they get one item correct out of all of the order is beyond me and their unwillingness to even attempt to make it right is appalling. I'll be taking my business elsewhere for now on.
