My favorite place to stay when I visit Reno. Everything you need is right there in one place. Night club, restaurant, spa, pool, bowling, and restaurants. I could go on and on. Also, the rooms are amazing. They treat their loyal members well with comp nights.

Nice venue. Very open. For over priced. I've stayed there before and very pleased with rooms. Stayed there in June this year and they were working on the pool and it was supposed to be done then. They are STILL working on it and it's November. Crazy!
GSR has come along way. I remember when it was Bally's then the Hilton. Grand Sierra took it up a notch. Awesome, decent family center. Solid nightclub. Something for everyone in the family.
The GSR made BLFC a really fun experience for everyone. Thank you to all the staff for being so accommodating and working hard behind the scenes to make the con awesome. The con would not have been the same without you!
This is the whole family go to Casino in the Reno area. Their amenities are just amazing. They are often looking to upgrade the experience. The pool was remodeled not long ago and they also upgraded many rooms recently. Both dults and kids will definitely like it. Many table games and slot machines to choose from. A good variety of restaurants although we tend to stick with the buffet . We've always have received a clean room when checking in and gotten proper cleaning during our stay. I definitely recommend it here
This is a great location for an adult trip or for one with kids. The pool is awesome and kept the kids entertained all day. They also have a kid zone and many restaurants geared towards kids too. But, they keep all that on a separate floor so adults can drink, gamble, and eat peacefully one level up. The price seems too good to be true, because it is; there are resort fees and taxes for every day. The day we were there we got there at 7 and even though the pool was supposed to be open until 10 they closed it at 7:30. After a 7 hour day of driving this was not ideal, but we did enjoy the pool in the morning.
Some of the elevators weren't working and there were several students there for a ski trip. Very crowded, had to wait many times for an elevator. Only one pool open, not sure if there was a life guard. One lady claimed it was a mother's nightmare. However, the room was nice and clean. All though we may have picked a bad/busy night, we'd stay again because of the rooms.
Rooms are all decent and scale quickly with small adjustments in price and there are plenty of gambling and entertainment options. Tables get a bit pricey on weekends but no more than other higher class casinos
I rented a suite and purchased 5 tickets to the Brian Wilson Christmas Concert. Dinner was great, show was excellent, returned to the suite and there was no bedding for the pullout couch. I requested a blanket so my 76 year old mother who we brought to the show as a Christmas gift would have a blanket for sleeping on the pullout bed. I thought this would be a simple request but was told there were no blankets and they could bring some sheets. After waiting over an hour with no sheets delivered, I called to speak to a manager. I was told that he called housekeeping and they found some blankets and would deliver them to the room. It has been over an hour since that conversation and... no blankets! He said he would give half off the room rate for the night, which is great but still doesn t fix the fact that my mom doesn t have a blanket and such a huge resort cannot even deliver a blanket. Pathetic service!!!
It is really nice, just no free slot play. Kinda hard to get free drinks on the slots. At the bar is your best bet to get free drinks and at that you better at least tip a dollar
Excellent stay, check-in was quick, room was clean with new 40" TV, and price was awesome. Won $50 dollars on my way up, the fitness center was great, and just no reason to leave.
I m very disappointed with this casino. I ve taken a lot of my friends to this casino, we play the same machine, I ve lost money every visit, yet my friends got upgraded on their card and get bigger free play than me. We use this as our get away from Sacramento, I m their driver, I played longer on slot machines than them. Yet when I called the supervisor and address my issue, she give these reasons that I don t play enough so I don t get enough points, my friends and I play the same time, eat the same time, play the same same slots, yet they get like weekends free stay, 80 dollar free play, I get 15.00!!! Not fair, I don t think I will be driving to GSR anymore. It s sad cause my friends/students look forward to our field trip every month.
We pulled into the hotel after a day of skiing at Mt. Rose. We get to the desk, provide our reservation confirmation, and they tell me they can't find it in their computer. We wait at the front desk for an hour and a half while they search for it while my seven year old is going nuts. Finally, they find it and give us our room key. We ask them to compensate us for our time logged at the front desk and they say they'll give each of the two rooms I booked a $25 credit. We said great and went to our rooms. Checking out, they present me with a $25 bill for each room. I remind them of the credit. They go back to their back office and make me wait another 30 minutes at the front desk when checking out then tell me they've applied the credit against the bill. I just checked my credit card statement, and guess what I found.. A $25 bill for each room. Don't go here unless you just want to spend your time dealing with bullshit.
It's nice to go watch a movie and to not pay $25 per person for snacks and movie. I can go with my wife and only spend $25. At another place we will spend $50. I don't mind going to the Grand Sierra to watch a movie. $4 isn't a whole lot if I'm going to hear someone talk through the movie anyway.
Overall this place is ok. Its a pretty high quality casino but with that comes pricy resort stay and expensive food, most of which is way over priced.
The buffet is not bad but I wouldn t say it s extremely good either. It s laid out as the pretty standard world tour type of buffet with stations serving Mexican, Chinese, American, etc Definitely a lot of options but not as high of quality as some of their restaurants.
Out of all the casinos in Reno, I would have to say that Grand Sierra (GSR) has the tightest slots and lowest payouts. This is just from my experience and is only my opinion, I don t know the actual payout percentages. Big selection of slots and table games though and they have just added a new high limit table games area as well as a new slots section.
Nice upscale experience in Reno. Service is friendly and efficient. Rooms are spacious and keep well. Rooms have a safe for your valuables as well as a refrigerator, although the fridge wasn't that cold. The resort has lots to do and see. They have a bowling alley and movie theater, and a large children's playing area/ arcade called fun quest. Lots of restaurants and food options including starbucks and johnny rockets, as well as your standard buffet and cafe. I had the saturday champagne brunch. A bit pricey for not much seafood. The multiethnic food stations though are pretty tasty, especially the taco bar. The casino area is large and there are plenty of slots. The table games have mainly $10 and $15 limits, so if you are looking for $5 tables, there aren't many here. Wish the gift shop was bigger with more GSR merchandise. Enjoyed my stay and will be back.
I requested a non-smoking room. When I showed up, they could only provide a non smoking room... on the smoking floor. I can still detect a faint smell of smoke. Yuck. They told me that my room, on a non smoking floor, wasn't ready, but I could wait 45 minutes to 2 hours (!) for housekeeping to ready it. Yeah. No. In the room, the light bulb next to the bed is burned out. The USB plug on the desk has been knocked out. Old heating units from 80's are still in wall with all knobs removed. Looks like they gave the place a face lift. Carpet, room decor okay, but they went about 60% of the way there, then stopped. And the wait to check in was crazy. A huge line of people to check in, and just two people to check them in at an enormous check in desk.
We love GSR! We've been coming for years. This place has it all. They have the most generous comp. program in Reno. We almost always stay free. They have a wonderful newly revamped pool area that is beautiful, complete with an adults only area, huge bar and plenty of seating (though the wait staff could be more prompt and attentive). The buffet is a little expensive, but if you play you can get a 2 for 1 coupon. Starbucks is on site, inexpensive movie.theater, bowling alley, ice cream parlor, burger joint, pizza place, candy store, gym....you never have to leave! We recently decided to stay downtown and wished we had have stayed at GSR.
This resort is THE place to stay in Reno. Our suite was clean and spacious with two bathrooms. Many hotels have removed microwaves and refrigerators along with coffee makers. Not here! The in room coffee maker was not a Keurig...which we won't use. Comfortable beds and pillows were a real treat. Good selection of restaurants and shopping available on site. We were only passing through on an overnight so didn't get to use the spa services or pools. Both look so refreshing! The casino had a large selection of games to try. Their loose slots hit hard for both of us. We will be back again!
Great food and drinks. The staek house is one of my favorites in reno. But everywhere I've eatin in here is great the service is great and the atmosphere is the best reno has to offer. I just wish the slots would pay better, but the freeplay is good here as well as the comp'd rooms.
Hard to really rate due to Covid restrictions and changes. Nice clean room with a large bathroom and shower. Check in and casino staff were very polite and helpful. Will definately be back when staying in Reno
Great staff. Very clean bathrooms and showers. The RV parking was very spacious. The casino was clean and very nice for Reno. Lots of security in the parking lot had a lot of fun good food in the casino.
I thought this place was just some casino that was until I met The greatest bartender ever!! Shaddia She was funny very respectful and fast ! She was the only employee that actually talk to me every other employee was like a robot...thank you Shaddia for making my experience better! And I will be referring this casino to my friends because of Shaddia the bartender
Room was nice and clean although they forgot to stock the bath mat towel and hand towels. Got everything from casino to restaurants to bowling to laser tag to shopping boutique stores and probably more.
I ate at the burret, it was a bit pricey but the food was delicious. I had some pho from the pho bar. The desert was also great. Server was also great.
Great Selection Of Gaming And Venue Lots Of Great Choices Both Food And Snacks Haven't Stayed There Yet But Rooms Look Awesome And Casino Floor Very Nice!
Great place to use as your central landmark if your a tourist. Go-karts, giant swing, and a slingshot outside and a fun video game arcade inside. And don't forget about the cement pond golf driving range behind the GSR.
Several elevators down but management was helpful directing and helping. Construction remodel in the middle of the casino was a bummer but was contained, not noisy or dusty. We missed using our food credit because the buffet closed early the night we could've used it. Friendly staff, every one we encountered was nice. Drinks were good and frequent. Clean and tidy. Room remodels very tasteful in pleasant colors. Looking forward to our next stay and seeing the full remodel. Thank you.
Had my 6 year old birthday party here. It was a little pricey as they do not provide food nor will they let you bring food. You have to use the vendors inside the facility. You can bring in your own cake. They provide you with a hostess, drinks, balloons and a room with the party packages along with free play depending on what package you purchase. The hostess was VERY slow in getting anything we needed/wanted so our time was up really quickly. The kids had very little time to eat and drink by the time we got our drinks and she got our food from the pizza place next door. For reference purposes, get the hostess on that as soon as you get there!!! The kids did have a ton of fun so it was not a total loss.
Came for Hot August night's, and had a great time, the rooms are very comfortable and the pool area is great. Even a splash pad for kids. Staff is very courteous. Would definitely stay here again!
Went to the Halestorm concert. Fantastic venue! Every seat in the theater is great. Good sound & lighting. Then played slots for awhile after the show. Won. Won. Won. Had a great time. Love the new look of the main floor casino.
Everything is here. Excellent food, and a great variety. Golf driving range, bowling alley, night club, theatres, and a generous comp program if you gamble. Well maintained and safe. Be prepared to walk through, it's a huge property!
If you like casinos and you have a family it is a good place to stay. There are slow of on site activities like a bowling alley, arcade, movie theatre and in the summer across the parking lot there are go carts and mini golf. As far as the rooms go they are OK but a little dated. Stay in the summit if you can
Our family loves the grand Sierra casino. I like to gamble there my son loves the downstairs that has a bowling alley arcade etc. Has lots of entertainment for the whole family.
This review is for the bowling alley specifically. It was expensive - 5 bowlers 1 game $50. I haven t bowled in awhile so maybe that s normal? It is under major construction so the floor is all just plywood and seating was horrible. The machine kept messing up on the scoring too. After they finish the remodel, maybe it will be better. The snack bar really needs an overhaul. The food is really terrible. I mean really bad.
We had booking for 2 days for 4th of July we arrived at 3:45pm to check in and there was a long long line it was horrible. They told my husband that the room will not be ready till maybe 2hrs!! WTH that is horrible we drove for 3+ hours and we had our 4 kids with us. My daughter has severe allergies to food so I carry food and drinks for her. I was upset because we waiting for almost 2 hrs to get our room and had all this food and drinks to put in the fridge and carrying this from one place to another in the casino. Not just that we went to the all sea food dinner buffet and the crab legs were not tasty at all they tasted like they were kept in water for ever and had no flavor it really sucked. I have stayed at this hotel in the past and nothing like this time I m not sure what happened but not what we expected with my family. It kinda ruined The Who experience for us. The only good thing what the pool
Lots of casino games. They made sme changes fr the last time I was there. Looks very nice n added slot more machines. The food is great in buffet, Mexican tacos.
The place was great. Staff were helpful. I was lost for a while as i was looking for a conference hall but an employee figured i was lost. Asked what i was looking for and guided me in the right way.
I have always recommended this place to friends and family visiting town. Except last time I was in there, the Crystal chandeliers and lights were disgustingly filthy and covered in dust and spiderwebs. Hanging down over our food and drinks. I wasn't impressed with the cleanliness of the main casino area.
We went to the grand buffet. Like all buffets there are hits and misses. But the good food outweighs the bad. They have a huge dessert bar with ice cream and lots of cakes. Their donuts are also very delicious
Very clean, loved the buffet they had there, and the steak house was great for a very nice business dinner. it had all I was looking for. The second night I was there my rate was over 50% higher, due to a convention there that night for a group I was not there with...I knew that in advance...but I think very nice rooms can be had there south of $100, and at that value, it's a great value.
It was sucking money as usual ! horrible place to gamble, their gambling system should to be investigated by Nevada Gambling associations. they need work on their comps too, Atlantis casinos comps is the best . Casino also have bugs and spiders , very dirty play areas needs to be cleaned its is always full of ashes ,cigarette buts and empty drink bottles.
We had wonderful experience in LEX night club.. We were group of 15 ppl visited LEX night club.. Though we had great experience in club, I was not happy with the collection of songs which played..
It's been two years since I was last here and it's been recently renovated. My stay here has been fantastic! Everything from their gaming selection to dining to activities have been great. Definitely would like to visit again.
