I totally agree with the other post. This hospital lacks so much!! The communication is terrible, the doctors are so into the political system at Phoebe they cannot think about their patients. The good doctors leave. Even when this hospital knows they need to refer patients out they do not do it. I will say that the nurses in the infusion center are great, but they have old left over equipment and my husband's chemo pump had been defective on two separate occassions which makes you wonder if they are using the cheapest products possible. Take care of yourself ....go somewhere else if you have more than a cold.

I encourage you unless it's life or death, and not even that, do not come to this hospital!! I am a former cancer patient and have received numerous blood transfusions in the past. Today I woke up and felt dizzy. When I looked down at my hands I seen a discoloration which had me to believe I may need a blood transfusions. I'm not from Albany but I attend college near by so my friend took me there. I went to the emergency side, and got nothin but attitude from both the "cop",security guard, and the nurse. After 25 mins of nearly passing out I was seen. I thought I was coming in for simple blood work, but turned into 3 hrs of waiting and constant ignorance. As I write this I am still currently waiting.

I called registration 3/21/16 about setting up payment on a procedure I was having. After she picked up the phone, she talked to someone else, coughed and cleared her throat then she was ready to"talk" to me. She acted too lazy to talk.
VERY BAD phone manners! In fact I was connected to someone else too lazy to talk PLUS she had to cough and sniff in my ear.

The nurses on 3C are the best. Mrs. Mary and the others go above and beyond to ensure their patients are comfortable and prepared for their procedures. The nurses in the heart cath section are comforting and exceptionally caring. This is why I drive from tifton to phobe.

Most of the nurses were nice and efficient but had a couple that would write down time for pain meds on board but had to keep calling to finally get pain meds for 1hr 30 min later. This is not good when you have had surgery and are in extreme pain!

Honestly if I could put no stars I would. My boyfriend got into a bad accident and had to go here. He ended up with several broken bones and they only found a few in one of his hands yet his other hand (that he complained about the whole time) was also broken. He had blood clots from the accident that they never found which is why he had so much pain in one leg and he couldn't walk much. They shrugged all of it off thinking he just couldn't handle the pain and pretty much drugged him up the whole time. He can't remember the whole hospital stay at all. This hospital needs to get shut down ASAP! Never go there for ANY reason. We'll never go back no matter what.

I was bought in on the ambulance. The er manager was so ugly, and always is. I sat from 1 something to 6:26 with nothing done but a chest x-ray. I had open heart surgery and was in for chest pain & shortness of breath. The nurse was mad bc I told her don t put saline in my Iv without cleaning it. It s horrible. Then I asked to be transferred several times with refusal. Then when telling the er manager the problem she goes back to the desk cussing and saying leave or go somewhere else. I don t see how she even still have a job!!

If I could give zero stars I would but this is the absolute worst hospital I've ever had the displeasure of coming to. Been in the waiting room for 7 freaking hours and have yet to be seen. Just ridiculous if you ask me. I will drive to the next town before coming here again.

My sister just had a premature baby at 6 months. They nurses were impatient and rough with her. She was discharged and told they do not have a place for her to stay near her baby, but he has to stay there 3 months. We live hours away, I work, and she is being told she has to find a way there and pay $25/night at this hospital just to see her son. I would not recommend anyone with a premature delivery to let their hospital transfer them to Phoebe Putney!

I've never really had a truly bad experience in the years I've been using Phoebe. An occasional bad employee but as far as that goes, they are everywhere. Through my father's death, my mother's surgical needs, my surgeries and having my son there 30 years ago, it has been mostly positive. I have not been an inpatient in many years and I've had good and bad ER experiences but I've had much worse in Miami. I guess it's subjective to where you've lived before but you could expect to stay an entire day at Jackson Memorial, even people with gunshot injuries had to wait if they were not life threatening. Seriously. So while I can't say it was perfect, Phoebe's been very good to me.
Terrible.
Terrible.

My mom works here and she is an RN. Some of these reviews are very over dramatic. My mom is an amazing, kind nurse. I have seen her work before. Also, some of her very bestfriends are nurses. They are absolutely amazing and the are loved and praised by other staff. Phoebe is an amazing hospital, hands down. -Haleigh Smith, daughter of Sheila Smith.

Appointment set for 9:30 am......2:30 get to see Dr. The doctor gives me the look over, no blood work, nothing. Not a problem gives me a diagnosis and then referral to Skin specialist. All professional and appropriate. Pay bill, and ask is all I need to pay because I have to send an itemized account to my insurance on money spent. Office manager and Dr, "yes you paid all of your end," We only send in an amount to Insurance so your deductible will be met." Ok so I get an itemized bill and pay it. All paid fair and square. Today I get a bill for another 142 dollars from Phoebe. Talk about bait and switch. Or is the wave of the future. I highly suggest you check your billing. You will be billed for all sorts of stuff they never even thought of doing. I think there is something fishy going on at this hospital......

Watch what you're being billed for and double chec...
Watch what you're being billed for and double check if it's your responsibility to pay it. I had an X-ray taken at Phoebe, insurance paid their part and I was billed for the rest. Spoke to the Insurance Referral Representative and they informed me that I had no obligation to pay it after looking up the "Patient Liability" portion of the claim. They called Phoebe and had the balance removed from my account.
Two days later received a call from the billing department asking when I'm going to pay the balance on my account. I explained that I was not liable for the remaining balance and had no obligation to pay. Their response was Well, then who is going to be paying us? I explained that they already received their payment from the insurance company, reiterated that I was not liable for the remaining balance and that the insurance representative should of had the balance removed a few days ago. Then, apparently, that information just popped up on their computer and it was an error that I was billed in the first place.
It s obvious they re harassing patients to cheat them of money that they aren t responsible for, as I ve heard the same thing from someone else, which is why I decided to double check in the first place.

The tech actually shook the needle around in my arm and was pushing on my arm saying I'm sorry I was called for another person I have to hurry while taking my blood and left a huge bruise on my arm. A man had 2 seizures while waiting it took 5 mins to get him a stretcher and sent to the back the wife was the one holding him as everyone walked over to him the man came in on a ambulance and was placed in the waiting room! My mother who is a nurse somewhere else laughed saying so many HIPPA laws were being violated by staff and they seemed in no hurry to treat people. Would rather travel to columbus like I did to have my son before I go here again. This was our 2nd time going there and it seems to have gotten worse.

This is THE MOST ATROCIOUS place in this town/city when my youngest son was three he aspirated and almost died, phoebe didn t take any responsibility, in fact they TRIED to blame me! I have never been a big fan of Phoebe, in fact I tried to have my children delivered at Palmyra but they couldn t do it.... ANYWAY, there have been several times where Phoebe is my only choice, and we suffer through it. If you know me, then you know I don t wait well. I am petrified that something is going to go wrong again and that I am going to lose my son. Phoebe needs to to STOP being and having a monopoly in this place and give people a choice!

We're doing a formal complaint. My fiance was mistreated by emergency dept staff in follow-up for abscess on her tailbone. It put her in agonizing pain & when she screamed I got up & yelled at them, & the nurse threatened to have security escort me out. We were given a wrong phone number to call back for the complaint process, & then given a bill of over $3000. Rudest staff I've ever seen & my fiance is still scared to go back.

I recently delivered my son at Phoebe and when it came to informing me of how to treat myself when I got home I received no information. I felt so lost and didn't have much of any help from the nurses or my doctor. I was ripped while giving birth and I didn't know what my tears meant or how to treat them. Half the nurses that I saw didn't even know what I had going on I had to tell them what was said by other nurses. So unorganized, if you have a baby don't have it there.

Most unprofessional Drs and nurse practitioners I have ever seen. It is just nauseating that Albany can't have a professional hospital with professional Drs. You have to go out of town to get a professional to see about you. It's a shame for everybody sitting in there office's downtown how Phoebe Putney can let this continue.

My husband was diagnosed with brain and chest cancer mid April. We live outside of Blakey,Ga. We asked to be sent to the cancer center at Phoebe Putney. I am a Rn and my daughter is one also..We have heard nothing but good reports about this center. My children wanted us to go somewhere else but my husband and I wanted to come here. After meeting Dr.Neal and the rest of the cancer team my children agreed with us Phoebe was where we needed to be. My husband was admitted for 4 days for test. The staff could not have been nicer.I have been in and worked in different hospitals during my nursing. and I have never experienced the friendly, professional staff that works here. I encourage anyone to go to the cancer center at PHOEBE .

Two experiences here- my son had surgery for his tubes and adenoid, and once we went to the ER a few days after surgery for some emergency follow up. We were never seen in the ER because of the filth I had to leave. There was no way I was going to chance the toddler catching something else (although I'm fully aware ER's are not the cleanest places, this one was beyond anything I've ever seen). We were there over an hour and at 50 minues of waiting just got called to triage. When asked if she knew how long the wait was- she said "no way to tell you- we aren't allowed to- but I can tell you some people have been sitting out there for more than 4 hours."
We left and sought help elsewhere- extremely disappointed in the conditions of the hospital. All the staff I encountered were friendly, but tired and over worked (it was clear as day on their face).
His surgery went well- that's the only reason I'm giving 2 stars. The after care nurses for surgery were friendly and so sweet to him- but again the condition of the recovery room was less than par. Honestly don't think we will opt for any more services from here after reading the other reviews.
Actually I would give -5 star.
Actually I would give -5 star.
My experience, I had a bad infection, was told later they didn't think I was going to make it out of there. As I was getting better I look back now and understand that comment better. The floor nurses I must say was great. But the doctors and specialist need to be retrained in manners and their fields. To start with I am not gay, never experimented or what ever; but the doctors kept trying to get me to say I was. One Dr told another as if I wasn't there, "he's still in the closet.
Now about 10 years after all these problems started that led up to this hospital visit; it has now been determined to be Lyme disease, which I had suggested the whole time. Not one Dr, in all the visits I went to documented what I told them. I was always told you don't get Lyme in South GA. Guess they forget to tell the ticks.
While draining the infection from under my skin, the HEAD wound care nurse dropped her tools on the floor, picked them up and laid them on me. I had to tell her they where contaminated. She then tossed them and grabbed another set of sealed tools. I had to stop her again, and tell her you didn't change your gloves after you touched the floor and have contaminated those in your hands.
She was not gentle and never came back to the room. I was in over a week and that was the only time they cleaned it the wound.
During this stay, people entering my room was to be in suites so not to bring in more germs take the staff infection out of the room. They did not put the required PPE outside the door until the day I left. They could have spread my staff all over the hospital.
Most of the local Dr's are affiliated with this place. After discharge was to see specialist asp, appointments were over 2 months out.
Several weeks later the infection came back, no one at any of the local Phoebe primary care would see me, said they were booked. Had a friend call and got an appointment for the next day, which just told me they didn't want to treat me anymore.
Went to Piedmont emergency room, they said I wasn't given the antibiotics long enough to get rid of the infection.
Just recently my dad went there, walked in, when he left, it was in a wheelchair. Started getting worse a week later, my mom carried him back. They waited most of the day in the ER waiting room. None of the staff never called his DR that was on call for the ER that day.
We carried him to the Thomasville hospital. When they pulled his records from Phoebe, there was a lot they did not do or tell any of us. He had a bone infection nor did they treat it when he was in the hospital earlier. His funeral was Sunday.
Phoebe is a nonprofit with nice fat bank accounts over seas, that don't give a damn about their patients. Palmyra hospital, before Phoebe took over was the better hospital. I hope Lee County gets their hospital. Phoebe has lobbied and over taken the small hospitals and primary Dr's, ruining health care in SW GA.

I have been all over the state between specialists to figure out my ongoing medical issues, and this hospital has honestly been one of the best. Clean, comfortable, friendly staff. I can't speak for the ER, but I can speak for several of the doctors offices and areas of the hospital and it has been fantastic. I feel like most of the one stars reviews I've read haven't been to other ERs, becuase they're ALL slow unless you're showing life threatening symptoms. That's just how medical care in America is, plain and simple. Really, my only actual complaint about the facility is that there really should be a map of the place somewhere near the entrances. I had a lot of trouble finding where I needed to go my first time there, and the entrance I used had some construction going on and therefore no attendant to ask. (Said construction was gone within a week when. I came back, though.)

Took my wife to this hospital. Staff is great. Hospital wait time is the worst. Spent 5 hours in the waiting room. People who came after us somehow got seen before us. Finally after waiting 5 hours in the waiting room, they gave us a room where we proceeded to wait. You will spend half your day waiting in this hospital. By the time they saw my wife, she wasn't even in pain anymore and was just tired. Oh, and just because your mom works here, doesn't make it a great hospital.

Inarguably the worst hospital I have ever been too...
Inarguably the worst hospital I have ever been too. Many years ago, I had to wait in the waiting room so long with stomach pain that my appendix burst. 3 hours in the waiting room! For the past several months, my father has had to go in for surgeries. Each time, after surgery :"your room isn't ready" -WTH??? My father is current there and has been there for 5 days now. He is completely dehydrated. We were asking why he hadn't had any IV fluids and kept getting told (for hours) "we are waiting for the hospitalist to approve it." I should be sending Phoebe a bill for all of the times the nurses asked me for help hooking up O2, moving my father on and off a gurney, moving him in his bed. The 4th floor nursing staff (save for 2 nurses) act as if they cannot be bothered to be there. We were unfortunate enough to be there over Thanksgiving weekend....no one wanted to be there. I could go on and on and on. Everyone knows phoebe is the worst. Just look at their metrics they have posted in their hallways. And...as petty as this is...the Starbucks inside phoebe....we were told "we don't make coffee, order something else."
Where do I begin with this hospital ... it needs t...
Where do I begin with this hospital ... it needs to be shut down for starters... I had surgery in Macon, ga on May 17th and once I was released from the hospital I went to Albany, Ga to stay with my parents to recover. On Wednesday the 22nd I started having a lot of pain on my right side and problems breathing so my mom took me to the Er here. First problem was when we got there there was only 4 people waiting so I was thinking to myself this should not take long. I waited in the Er 4 hours FOUR hours before being called back. As I was waiting an elderly lady with diabetic problems came in by ems and clearly needed to be seen right away but they made her wait too. The security guard and receptionist was so busy talking and being on their phone that they didn t even notice a guy walk out from the back with blood everywhere. The doctors and nurses came out the back and spent 45 minutes looking for this guy who clearly didn t want help while other patients sat there and suffered. This happen about my second hour in the waiting room. When they called me back 2 hours later the blood the guy had all over the floor was still there. They put me in a room and as I was sitting down I looked on the computer which someone left up with all the patients information and I saw my name. It had a level 3 which meant a 4 hour wait and the problem they had listed was not the problem I told them about. Finally a nurse came in started an iv and took blood work and asked me to pee. I did and the pee along with all the trash in the room sat on the table all night long. The nurse came back stated that my white blood court was high and that I was waiting on the doctor. When the doctor (dr. Barnes) came in he was very rough with me I explained to him I couldn t move fast because I had just had surgery and was in a lot of pain he was like I will help u get on the bed and was pushing me roughly after I told him that it hurt and to stop. He was very playful in a very serious matter. He ordered a CT Scan of my chest when I told him the problem was on my side. The scan came back negative and I asked him to please scan my stomach and side which he would not do. I called my doctor in Macon and he told me to leave there and come back Macon. Which I did. I spent 20 hours in the Er for them to tell me nothing was wrong. When I got to my doctor he sent me straight to the hospital and they found the problem right away. I had fluids and blood built up in my stomach. They admitted me into the hospital and I am still here now. I could have died if I had listen to phoebe ... they had the nerves to call me the next day and say they need my insurance card to file my insurance. I hung up the phone on them I m going to talk to everyone I have to talk to about this until something is done because I will not be paying that bill.

I brought my 10 year old daughter with Type 1 diabetes to the ER. I was afraid that after staying over a friend's house that her blood sugar levels were elevated for a while and that she may have been in DKA. The ER was packed. We waited for approximately an hour and a half before I checked my vomiting child out of the hospital because I knew that she would not have gotten seen anytime soon and took her to Mitchell County Hospital where she was seen immediately to ultimately get transferred to Tallahassee Memorial for treatment. DKA is life threatening. I thought that the more emergent cases get seen first, unfortunately not. I give 2 stars because the nurse there was nice and I could tell that she felt bad for the poor service of her hospital. Maybe Phoebe needs to stop being a monopoly, because they are going to cost patients their lives.

Had a 78 year old Aunt and Uncle escaping the hurricane in NC that had went to Phoebe covientcare on Dawson Rd that said their Medicare was not covered from out of state, which I knew was not true. Luckily they had another Insurance that was accepted....I called the main Hospital and they told me that that was wrong but the lady at covientcare wouldn't take Medicare. Typical Phoebe!

I think it is a tragedy how people treat loved ones. My experience with the ER staff was atrocious. Family member in with serious problems, called to connect to family room of 78 year old parents, but no help. I live 6 hours away and father was very scared, didn't have cell phone on and when on cannot hardly work phone. Called the ER 4 times and was NEVER SENT TO FAMILY ROOM. We had no idea of mother's condition or father's condition. Staff NEVER ASSISTED all they would do is put you on hold or send you to a continuous ringing phone. FINALLY one person connected me to room. Father has a history of open heart surgery 1 year ago, AFIB, and concerned about mother's condition. Been in ER since 11:30 am NO ONE OFFERED him any food, drink etc. What is wrong with our culture, our manners, our thoughtfulness...WHY ARE YOU IN HEALTHCARE. We NEED OTHER OPTIONS!!! VERY VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Awful place. Had my daughter here many years ago. No one to help me for hours while a patient. They had demeaning signs in rooms telling people they should love their child after giving birth. Saying don't stop living your baby after it grows up! Really? That's really insulting. Of course people, most of us will always love our children. Pathetic way to treat your patients. Moved away long ago and so glad we got out! Very unfriendly and people still are bitter about a war I didn't start or even fight in. Religious people were the worse.

If I could give this place negative stars I would. The ER is completely incompetent and is only interested in ensuring you have an astronomical bill. I was visiting in town with my family and had to take my wife to the ER as she was having tingling in her arm. The entire 9 hrs we were there they did everything but address the arm issue and even wanted to admit her for more tests since everything came back clear from heart attack to anuerysm, you name it.
I refused, went back to the hotel grabbed a heating pad and Advil. Low and behold, the next day no pain or tingling. Just looked at the claim and it was over $10K. This place should be investigated and shut down immediately!

I promise you this is the worst hospital in Georgia. When I took my wife there for being in so much pain the entire time they only gave her pain pills and a prescription stating that it was an ear infection. We went to Savannah Georgia for Saint Patrick weekend she was still in pain matter of fact it had gotten worse so I took her to the hospital up there and come to find out that she was suffering from MS. And that makes me wonder why the hospital in Albany couldn't figure that out, maybe it's because they don't take the time to diagnose and treat their patients properly. And since we been back from Savannah the pain had returned a few days later and I took her back to Phoebe for the MS, they stated that they was going to put her in a room. About 7 hours later I asked about how long it was gonna take before she get a room just to find out there wasn't any rooms available. So I had to take her back home with all the pain and care for her myself. So sad Phoebe has got to do better with there patients especially with a serious condition that my wife is suffering from.

Most of the staff were professional, but not overly friendly. I was referred to Phoebe for tests and told to be there by 12, even though my appointment wasn't until 2, which I did. I was shuffled from one waiting room to another, only to be seen after 4. During this time, there were at least 4 other patients with the same complaints. By the time I was done, I had spent 5 hours for a 20 minute procedure.
Not only that, but I was informed not to eat prior to the appointment, which made for a very long day.
I don't understand how, as a patient (as a CUSTOMER), my time is less valuable than theirs?

If I could give a negative five I would. Their gastroenterology office has the worst bed side manner that I have ever experienced. The nurses are rude and lack empathy. The doctors with any compassion have all left. I drive to Mayo Clinic or Tifton if I really want to be treated with human decency. This hospital is repulsive.

My husband went to the eregency room at 2:30 pm with an open seeping wound, high blood pressure and he was wheezing. All they did was triage and made him sit back down in the waiting room. After about two hours of waiting I went up to the desk and. explained that he was in pain and that I cannot drive when it gets dark. That didn't help. So we waited for four more hours and we told them we had to leave and cannot wait any longer. This is the worst experience we have ever had in an emergency room. I will never come here again. I will take him to my local ER where I know he can get help.

They'll send your bill to collections before the billing department will answer the phone to accept payment. We have left multiple voicemails and recieved no call back. Our bill should have been sent to our Access one account but was not. We had issues with this last year, it took weeks to resolve.

To whom it may concern,
On July 17, my aunt visited Albany Gastroenterology, Dr. Kumar s office due to chronic diarrhea and possible CDIFF recurrence. My aunt previously suffered from a CDIFF infection and wanted to check the results of the specimen sample and to see if it had recurred. When Kristy, the PA came in asked my aunt when did she send in the specimen because there were no records of a fecal specimen on file. My aunt explained that the specimen was sent a week prior on June 10. Kristy explained to my aunt that she would need to go over to the lab at Phoebe to retrieve another specimen kit because they had no results to go by to see if there was an infection. The lab at Phoebe main had not send any results over to the doctor s office. When I went to pick up the specimen kit, I explained to the tech that the doctor s office had no records of my aunt completing a specimen kit. I asked what happened to the specimen and if it just disappeared into thin air. The tech looked at some paper work and explained that the sample was rejected and that the doctor s office should have called my aunt. I explained that there was no record on file at the doctor s office that a specimen sample had been collected. She was explaining to me why the lab would reject the sample, but I asked to speak to a supervisor because my aunt had been waiting a week for results in regards to a serious infection. When the supervisor, Carlson came, he once again explained why a sample would be rejected, I explained to him that my aunt had not been notified and the doctor s office had no records of it. I asked him when was the sample rejected, when did they notify the doctor, and who tested it. He went back into the office to speak with one of his workers. When he came back out into the lobby where I was, he immediately began to apologize explaining that there was no documentation on file and that they dropped the ball and the doctor s office had not been notified and it was completely their fault. I explained to him that my aunt has waited a week for results with a possible serious infection and now has to collect and send another sample to be tested before any possible treatment could occur. He apologized and stated that he understood because there were very few things as worst as CDIFF and hoped now that we could get her on the right track. He also explained that he wished the girls up front were trained to detect if a specimen would be rejected so that they can let the patient know immediately. I explained to him that the issue is that no one communicated that it had been rejected which is unacceptable and my aunt is at home anxiously waiting on results. There was another patient in the lab office listening and I asked her what her name was in case the lab supervisor tried to ever say that he did not say this information to me. This lab s behavior was a form of incompetence and shows that the workers were very irresponsible and failed to do their jobs. This is unacceptable and this behavior must be addressed because the people s lives of Southwest Georgia are at stake if Phoebe Putney does not improve their healthcare services.

"Employee Health" for the employees and family members is really a good service. (At a very low price for a visit).
As a spouse of a Phoebe employee (RN), I recently called Employee Health to inquire on seeing a doctor for a medical issue that I had. Lawanna answered and was very friendly, she answered all my questions and advised me to come on in to see the doctor.
Shanterian (Front Desk clerk) greeted me with a smile and was very friendly too. I quickly filled out a one page form. Within five minutes a nurse escorted me to an examination room. Unfortunately I don't remember her name. She did her assessment and vitals, she and I laughed at a joke I made about my situation. Within in a couple minutes the nurse practitioner (Keneyana Soloman) walked in. She asked me to describe the progression of my problem for the last 5 days. She ordered a prescription, and I was on my way. My entire visit was only 30 minutes. All the staff treated me as a "person", and not a "number". That's very important to me.

HORRIBLE!!! I have read through the reviews and I would like to add my thoughts. I agree this hospital is one that has a handful of good hearted employees yet the rest are horrible and judgmental individuals who like to point the finger yet do not hold any accountability for their own actions. For example nurses falling asleep at the nurses station or causing the blood of a patient to spray into the halls from the patients room due to the improper intravenous negligence of a nurse. As a previous Tech I have experienced the bullying from co workers mostly the nurses... especially the charge nurse on the General Med floor. Most of the doctors are just dead inside, no personality or empathy whatsoever. All of the contracted nurses that came to the hospital to work that I personally encountered came out of character due to the unprofessionalism in the environment and could not wait until their contracted ended! In my opinion, they were sane and caring compared to the people who worked at Phoebe. Phoebe is a ''who you know'' hospital, less about experience... meaning they will put someone in a position they are not qualified for over someone who is based on the fact that the person is for Albany, they are good at kissing a** or they know someone. NOTHING TO DO WITH KNOWLEDGE OR EXPERIENCE. Most staff do not get breaks as they are told to swipe out for their lunch breaks yet are expected to worked through the time and swipe back in. From what I witnessed and what the contracted nurses complained of were... as a nurse you transport your own patients along with vitals, charting, meds, assisting patients and techs if possible etc. especially when short staffed as Phoebe usually is. I worked one whole side of the hall while another tech worked the other side, two techs to a floor for 12 hr shifts including the fact they call you on your day off to pick up hours. The ratio of care provider to patient is so off. This is where the overworked comments in this comment section come from. As staff you are not allowed to post true thoughts or opinions on social media as the company monitors it and makes staff remove it if seen. If they tell you that there it's an open door policy, it's a lie. They (Upper management and down) DO NOT mind letting you go to cover their paycheck and vulture mindset as they gang up on the person who chooses not to ''Drink the Kool-Aid.'' Albany is a very small town. I had to speak the truth as a fair warning to others.

I must say that I was so pleased with the care that was given to my son. The nurse was amazing high energy, positive, friendly, willing to help in any way possible..Her name was Shondra May please keep her she was refreshing...I promise I never met a nurse in the ER like her..I wanted to also thank the receptionist she set the tone and I thank you all. But hats off to Shondra May the nurse of the year . thanks

My sister is 19 weeks pregnant, she has had a previous miscarriage in her last pregnancy. This afternoon she started developing the same symptoms as her previous misscarrege. We made a phone call to her nurse on call with her OBGYN who enformed is to get her to the hospital as fast as we could. The closest hospital was the phoebe north on palmyra, get her there and the lady behind the desk insist to she waits because we don t have a labor and delivery . So I am furious at this point. In that point and time I made a rash decision to take her to the main phoebe. When we arrive I figured they would take her straight up to labor and delivery due to her situation... I be fooled if we are still not waiting in the waiting room or the ER while my sister might be having another miscarriage. I despise this hospital with my all and cannot wait until they build the one in LEE CO. Screw this hospital it s a joke.

It was my worst experience ever! Went to see my Neurosurgeon @ 10:15 for pre-op. I was there for a short time and he answered all my questions. His nurse sent me over across the street to Meredith Place for lab work. The receptionist asked did I have an appointment?
I stated No bcuz I was told to just give paperwork to her (receptionist ). I was told they would have to work me in, ok fine. I was then called back within 30mins for the signing of consent forms and financial obligations. After all that information was taken, the receptionist tells me that they're backed up and I'll have to come back another day. I'm like I've driven almost an hour just to get here , I'm already in pain. I suggested to her to send everything to Phoebe Sumter Hospital, I'll get it done there because now it's about 11:45 am. Chiquita, made a call to Phoebe Putney Hospital, to see if they'll take me in. Fine, I'll do that. She stated that they(receptionist ) would be waiting. I get there , hand papers over to receptionist. Same Senario, do you have an appointment? I'm like here I go again being asked the same questions and lady telling me we got to work you in. Waiting room full, 1 hour passed no one left sitting but me ..Oh now maybe I'll be next. NOPE! No one called me. The waiting area fills up again , another hour passed. I'm not cslled. Finally, I get up then I'm notice. The lady that gave me the device to alert me has gone to lunch it never lit up until I asked had they forgotten me. Then the nurse takes me on back. It took everything in me not to cry. I was emotionally and physically drained.. in fact , I did cry. After getting in the back I was directed to another nurse who proceeded to get blood samples , which wasn't successful, so she sent me to the lab. I get to the lab , I got 2 nurses sticking both arms , trying to get a vein. I was stuck A total of 9Times unsuccessfully. After 8 times I asked for water. After 1 nurse backed out of my arm, blood was dripping all down my foot. They both decided to leave me alone and sent me to the Radiologist. Everything went well there except when I left, to staff members noticed my shirt was turned inside out. What a day I had.! Emotionally and physically wrecked! I left there at 3;45pm. Never have I gone to any hospital for pre-op at 10:15 AM and left at 3:45pm for lab work. This is my first and last time at this hospital. I talked to my Dr, nurse and she assured me that they would take care of me. I almost took my business back to Houston Medical , where I had previous surgeries. I was told different is not always good. I pray that they'll wrong. I pray that ,June 10th everything works out.

I have never not had a horrible experience here. Doctors never communicate clearly, nurses don't care about patients unless you get rude with them(which is how they treat the family members anyway) and they charge out astronomical amounts for services that are always sub-par. I pray that one day this hospital system will get bought out by people who provide even adequate care and actually feels something for their patients other than just seeing $$$

I have been going to PPMH for 10 years now because the hospital home (Crisp Regional Hospital) is terrible, and am shocked by some of the reviews I just read. Yes, they have their faults...but what hospital doesn't? What business doesn't? Because that's what hospitals are...businesses. So, it's going to have its own set of kinks to continually work out. But each time I've gone, I've had to be admitted. I have Sickle Cell and don't live in Albany, so when I show up at the EC, they know it's pretty serious. Each time I've been there I've gotten excellent pain management, they ensure that my patient rep comes to my room to let me know if there's anything I want or need to let her/him know. If there's things on the menu I don't want to eat, they give me alternatives. The only thing they get two, actually, three or four (if I could), is their discharge process, and I am taking it upon myself to change it because it needs some serious revamping.

Very rude nurses, doctors and staff members. Society sees doctors as some sort of authority figure and think they can whatever they want to you, they dont even come into the room to see you. The just get all of your information on what you symptoms are and basically guess, and through antibiotics at you that are very dangerous
I think one star says it all.
I think one star says it all.
No matter what you go in for, 9 times out of 10 you will get the wrong diagnosis.

I would describe my daughter's labor and delivery the MOST HORRIFIC experience of our lives. Dr. Shannon Price was on call Saturday April 18 2015. She let my daughter's epidural run out and let her scream and beg for pain meds for TWO HOURS. I do not understand why it had to be that way. Her bedside manner is cold, arrogant, unteachable. She and two of the labor nurses (ASHLEY and whoever the charge nurse was) actually laughed and carried on personal conversation while my daughter SCREAMED in agony for TWO HOURS before the baby was born. My daughter was completely traumatized. DR. PRICE REFUSED her pain management of ANY KIND for those last two hours. Longest two hours of our lives. This doctor is completely heartless. If you get her you are literally taking your life into your own hands. RUN FROM this doctor. Something is wrong with her.

NO Stars would be me being very generous! They are on a negative scale with me. My daughter was told she had a very bad, ankle sprain last Wednesday. Just called the orthopedist to do a follow-up appointment because the "sprain" seems to be getting much worse. The scheduler (nurse, assistant, ???) was looking at my daughter's records (probably to confirm that she was referred there and for what) and asked me if I was aware that my daughter has a fractured foot?! I was in tears and enraged in a split second! How dare they allow anyone to think it is okay to walk around with nothing more than an ace bandage, ankle stabilizing brace or even an old "boot" we had from an actual sprain about a year again? I HATE PHOEBE!!

Was at 2nd floor the Ortho nuro Dept. Came in on July 31 , lumbar surgery was there until aug 1 2019 my 5 star rating because these nurses on this floor go beyond the call of duty very professional . I never had to call a nurse they did what was suppose to be done and on time. Special thanks to these ladies , Denise,Dee,Demetria, Roselyn, Carmill. I so apoligze if I left someone out. Continue the same service ladies you gave me. Wonderful job and good people.

If there was a negative star, that would be more appropriate than 1 star! Unbelievable! The CEO, Board, and Administration ought to be Absolutely Ashamed of themselves! Just shameful for what goes on at this hospital! I had taken my father there on an emergency basis multiple times before he passed, with Full coverage insurance may I add, and they NEVER could do anything but give him a bag for dehydration and send him on his way! While he was there, they just kept sending multiple Doctors, any they could to keep charging insurance for visits while there! They NEVER did or said anything! This place is not a care facility, just a not for profit, charge insurance for all they can, purchase an Island in the Caribbean, and send you down the road. It may have the name of Hospital, but the care, diagnosis, and cleanliness is borderline abusive! SHAME ON ALL OF YOU!

Waited in the emergency room four and a half hours. No one communicated why we were waiting so long. As soon as I got in my vehicle I received the phone call from Phoebe to ask me why was I leaving. I stated because I have been sitting for a very long time and no one can communicate as to how long it may possibly be well I'm sorry State law states that we have to at least tell you if your symptoms worsen please come back. I've lived in different states and I've NEVER had to spend half a workshift in an EMERGENCY room. Disgusted!

My husband's doctor literally told us that the only people that go to Phoebe are the ones that want to die. He refused to do any surgery on my husband at this hospital. It's sad when doctors in the area will send you an hour and a half way to a good hospital rather then have you drive 20 minutes up the road to this hospital.

My 75 year old mother fell and hit her head and we rushed her to the emergency room, we were in the emergency room from 4:30 pm until 5:00 am, and it was around 2:30 am, before they even took my mother to the back to x-ray her, she sat in the waiting room in pain and in bloody clothes!

THE WORST HOSPITAL I EVER BEEN TO!!! I SUGGEST YOU GO TO URGENT CARE OR DRIVE TO COLUMBUS BECAUSE THIS HOSPITAL NEEDS TO BE SHUT DOWN. The nurse didn't check my temp, the doctor diagnosed me with something he didn't even run test on and never told me what I had, I had to ask a nurse what was wrong with me. The doctor walked out and just prescribed me some "free" antibiotics. Worse experience ever with a hospital
