Incompetent. I took my son in for a abscess. After not being sure whether to diagnose it as a contusion or an abcess, the "doctor" lanced the area, squeezed the area and after producing nothing but blood, claimed it was a contusion. We went home, and re-examined the area ourselves. The abcess immediately burst and drained. They attempted to bill me $1018 for this bit of malpractice.

They don't keep medical information updates. They don't provide you with meds prescribed because of poor record keeping. The nursing staff are rude and disrespectful. I get to pay outrageous fees and provide my own record keeping. They play on their hold music they have been voted the best. Not sure who voted that way but I'm guessing some who goes to a different group of medical professionals. If you need kidney help Dr. Nayar is the best but the staff that works in that clinic is sub standard. Sad!!!

I was in a logging accident January 2015 and was air lifted to the south facility where I spent 3 days in ICU and the rest in standard admittence with extensive head trauma. I couldn't even walk on my own half the time but the therapists and doctors as I remember did okay at tending to me. Didn't get to eat much while I was there because my injury for whatever reason prevented me from keeping any solids down....but I do remember when I finally got to it was not exactly a gourmet experience

My boyfriend's mother had heart issues and needed to be transported by ambulance to Cox. She has been there since 12/19/15. We have tried to visit her multiple times. Each time we tried, they wouldn't allow us or even just her son see her. We have also tried to get information to see if she's at least okay or out of the ICU but the nurses refuses to tell us anything and called security on us when we mentioned that her son has power of attorney so he needs to know what's happening with his mother.

Getting into the ER is never a problem. My biggest wait was last night at two hours. The doctor didn't even come in for an advisory before the nurses started bringing in lancing supplies (I had an abscess due to HS, an autoimmune condition they prescribed an antibiotic for and that they misdiagnosed as a common boil). I received a referral to the Welcome clinic and tried to make an appointment to get my diagnosis but they said they weren't accepting referrals from the ER anymore. Never saw the doctors face or spoke with her, she just stabbed me up, cut me open, saw my tattoos and automatically assumed I was a drug seeker and sent me home with nothing for the pain they caused. Last night I didn't sleep at all. These people are discriminatory and judgmental and if I could afford a lawyer, bet I'd be going after these moneygrubbing corporate penny pinchers for their cold business practice and lack of interest in a patient's well being. I didn't wanna hurt myself or others until I saw how this place was run. Now I think I might need a psych evaluation. Thanks Cox.

DON'T GO HERE! Even if you live in Branson take the time if possible to go to a hospital in Springfield instead. It will save you so much time and so much money in the long run. The lack of training, communication and The worst most unprofessional experience I've had in any industry period. There is a reason they have a rating of 2.2 . If you don't believe me that they're horrible just ask 10 of your friends in Branson, any friends and you'll hear horror stories. Once I had my bad experience and I spoke with local friends about it almost everyone verified the horrible experience with their own experiences. I'm on hold right now with collections on a hospital visit that happened 1 year ago! That's how long I've been dealing with Cox. It all started when I visited them for rectal bleeding that they coded as "routine well visit" which then my insurance wouldn't cover. Now 1 year later and countless hours on the phone with Cox for a bill on an operation that didn't fix the problem I'm still dealing with them. And now I have a mark against my credit for a bill they never sent me a notice for that went to collectors. The worst thing, the problem was never fixed and I'm in pain and still color the toilet red with blood every morning 1 year later. I'm going to another hospital this week.

Not sure why you even set up an appointment. Had an appointment at 11 and the doctor didn't show up till after 1. So they make you sit in a room and wait. They don't come in and explain anything. They just make you wait. Make sure you don't have anything scheduled for the rest of the day. You won't make it!!!!

This place shouldn't even get a star at all. Will never go again. First of all I went for a blister they said it was an abscess then drained it, well apparently it didn't work because it filled up again so two days later had to get the same thing done this time more pain and more cutting. The doctor didn't want to give me pain medicine at all they didn't want to wrap my foot after I was done they just left out, I see a lawsuit for this place in the future!!!!

The staff is somewhat friendly. The online check-in was canceled so when I showed up to my appointment on time I was in the waiting room another hour. Another hour to drink a cup of water so I can take a CAT scan. Another hour to wait for that water to get to the CAT scan. I know some of this is procedure but it doesn t take this long. The whole time you are not allowed to smoke while the staff rudely tells you you shouldn t smoke because it s going to kill you. I ve been here manyTimes and it seems to be changing. I m will be switching to Mercy as soon as possible. I would recommend anybody to go to Mercy unless Cox has a Sapir your price or location or something like that. You get better service at Mercy Hospital and are not disrespected by the staff like this

I took my adult son to Cox North Emergency to treat a chest/back injury. Immediately, he was faced with disrespect and the assumption he is a drug addict just looking for a fix. DEFINATELY NOT THE CASE! We sat for 2 hours, along side a lady who had been waiting 4 hours and an elderly lady who had been there 8. There was a total of 4 people in the waiting room. I DO NOT recommed this ER for ANYONE. The staff is rude, inconsiderate and THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR PATIENTS!

My nurse practitioner quit on me right in the middle of some serious issues with my health. Mishandling my bloodwork and not showing up for my scheduled appointments. Ect. No warning from the hospital about her resignation. Now, I'm having to pick up the pieces of my health. If you value your own health, please, go somewhere else.

I'm talking about the clinic. I'm new to the area and was recommended to use Cox North Family Clinic. I've seen a doctor 3 times and do not feel I am better off for it.

The nurse that sees you first asks you what are your health goals. I described my goals. One of the goals is being met because I became extremely proactive in my care. Mistakes were made but I figured it out for myself.

My second goal, chronic pain, is being completely ignored. The doctor treats you like an addict of some sort. But, is very quick to write scripts for everything else. Very powerful drugs, I might add.

Anyway, I'm going to try and get a meeting of the minds in the coming days. If that doesn't work out, I'm looking for a new doctor and clinic.

Billing nightmare!! I should be appolgized to in writing. The worst customer service I have ever experienced anywhere. First off, I have extremely good insurance and am fully capable of paying any medical bills I receive. However, I should not be treated as though I am a criminal and they are gathering information to sue me by recording my conversations when I do call to resolve a bill that should have been sent to my insurance. If you want your money learn how to submit the claim to the insurance company before you harass me. Please train and or retrain you staff to have better ablility in resolving issues without damaging the COX reputation. Terrible customer service! Fix you echoing recording situation. And Try to hire people slightly more educated and experienced in retaining customer satisfaction. I will be shopping Mercy providers after today, and gladly pay out of network premiums. COX you lost a family of 5 customers.

I witnessed something in the ER the other night, t...

I witnessed something in the ER the other night, that I hope I never have to witness again. I am an RN. I work at a hospital in the ER in the Chicago area. We were visiting friends in the Springfield, MO area, and I needed to take my uncle to the ER. There was a couple there, and the husband was obviously trying to pass a kidney stone. He was is SEVERE pain. I know, I have worked with patients like this before. This man was lying on the hospital floor yelling in pain, and they would not see him. Trust me, if you have never passed a kidney stone, you have no idea what this feels like. It is horrible, horrible pain. I don't know how he didn't pass out. Anyway, they told the wife, who was very distraught, that it was going to be at least three hours before he could be seen. Meanwhile, this guy is going berserk with the pain. I CANNOT believe that they were going to let this man suffer like that and not do anything for him for THREE HOURS!!! I finally heard the wife tell them that she was going to take her husband to urgent care. They left, and I hope he was taken care of. It was the most awful, unprofessional thing that I have EVER seen. Shame on this hospital. Where I work, we don't go by first come, first serve, we go by how severe the emergency is. This man was obviously in extreme pain!!

As I am not the patient this makes no sense.

As I am not the patient this makes no sense.

1. I am not allowed to leave the hospital being the driver. Why what reason?

2. No atm in the building for me to withdraw cash from to eat.

As a non patient, these grounds make no sense to me what so ever. The fact the doctor was not even at the hospital until 2 hours after the scheduled surgery time. Also the fact I was not going to put my woman through having to watch me eat and drink when she could not. Also like half of Americans I smoke which I did not want to make that worse for her.

All said and done for trying to be here for someone they make it extremely difficult and uncomfortable experience for the family friends and significant other.

Ok, so the administrator and staff here have changed my mind on the review as they are looking into it. They just became part if Cox Health. So they are in process of switching things still. Once I find the changes in place my review and rating are up for change.

Very unprofessional and I have lost all respect for this company, I have tried contacting them multiple times and its never the right time or phone number for them. Martin Center Nurses on the 3d floor... My mom was in for an endoscopy dilation and while she was in recovery I suddenly became very ill . My sister sought out the nurses and before I knew it they had me in a room, hooked up to machines and watching me closely. After some apple juice and crackers we determined it was low blood sugar as I hadn't eaten for over 24 hours. They were tremendous! Thank you LADIES!

Came in with chest pains from yesterday that, woke me up finally at 5 this morning. The doctor was rude and irritable as if he had a problem with explaining to me that he doesn t know why I m in pain. As I am sitting in this room I ve heard nurses cussing through the hallway, talk about patients being so high. It s to the point the hallway walls are dirty.. I m upset that I will leave here with a fabricated explanation of why I m in so much pain with a knot that s not my ribs!!! I didn t come for pain pills I can for a damn solution and this place has completely failed.

Dr. Amy McCroskey, ER doctor, was horrible. We went to ER after a baseball injury where my son lost two teeth and had a third smashed horribly into his upper palate. She barely looked in his mouth for 10 seconds. Terrible bed side manner, condescending, and incompetent. She read my son's x-ray, told us his jaw wasn't broken, and sent us home with a pack of gauze (that I had to ask for). I asked for an oral surgeon consult, which I never got. (Dr.just sent him a text message.) Advised me to call oral surgeon the next day (they weren't open and answering service would not page him). My son's jaw was actually crushed, which our dentist advised us of the next day. Not broken - crushed into fragments. My son laid in bed for 15 hours with a tooth smashed up and side ways hanging down in a manner where he could not swallow. Who sends a child home like that? I will go out of network the next time we have an emergency.

Never have I been treated like a drug addict. I have been a nurse for years and went to the ER after being sent there for severe abdominal pain. New onset. They gave me something for nausea and said we'll give you Tylenol for pain cuz I take Subutex for pain. I had been in pain for over 12 hrs and do not go to the ER For just anything. Dr. Was completely inconsiderate and dismissive. DO NOT GO THERE IF YOU WANT ANYONE TO TAKE YOU SERIOUSLY. WORST CARE EVER

Went in Sunday night w abdominal pain they ran all kinds of tests on me and sent me home w pain meds and told me that it could be early stage of appendicitis. Here I am on Tuesday still having pain and went back in and the doctor and the nurse both treated me as if they didn't want me there. This time they had me get in a gown and while I was the doctor opened the door on me while I was getting into my gown....knock. He came in and I told him what was going on and basically and cred like why I was there was not his problem and that he will amuse me and run another ct but that it more than likely will show the same thing. I got dressed and have left. Nobody deserves to be treated like this at all. NOBODY!

Terrible Terrible service, even worse people. I had a bad bicycle accident and an ambulance was called. EMT's pressured me into taking the ambulance when I wanted to ride with a friend. Charged me almost $1000 for it. Then on the way (even though I was capable of making decisions and giving consent) they tried to inject me with narcotics while making jokes at my expense. After the fourth time of my refusing narcotics they stick a needle in me anyway, as hard as they can, but don't give me medicine. They just leave it there. Nurse was terrible, and remarked to my ride back that I was incompetent at listening and was chewing US out. She walked in threw a gown on the bed and walked out. I could barely move and the bed was on the other side of the room. I strongly recommend NEVER going to Cox, they are awful, don't care about you, and just want your money.

Cox is charging 3x's the amount for something just because we have insurance. But we have such a high deductible, and the insurance isn't paying anything. In addition, we were told twice the first visit was a consultation, and there would be no charge. When we brought that up, they said bring in proof so I guess we should have recorded the conversations. Also, when we called about this, the billing department basically said, "Not our problem."

I'd give them zero stars if that was an option. I have had the WORST experience with Cox South. In my opinion, their radiology department is incompetent and performed ELEVEN (NOT kidding) x-rays on my head trying to get a simple shot of my VP shunt setting.....and they still didn't get a clear picture. I literally had to argue with them over if my shunt was programmable or not and where "the bubble" is located. I then had to have my shunt setting changed back and it took two PA's and two different devices to get it reprogrammed. Unfortunately, my TRICARE is through Cox so I have no choice but to been seen by them. I wish there was a way to report them. It's a scary place.

One of the worst experiences I've had. I took in a family member with terminal cancer who was in severe pain and thought she was having a heart attack. We'd already been to the ER the week before and found that her cancer had spread to her brain again. She refused medication for heart burn that she'd already taken and wanted more pain medication, so the older doctor came in and mocked her for refusing medication and treated her like she was an idiot even though she's an RN and knew it wasn't working. The nurses drew blood from both of her arms despite having a port. They did not give her a call button and when I went out to ask them about pain management they were snappy. I could hear them loudly talking about drug seeking patients who go to different ERs (probably talking about us since we'd preciously gone to south, but this was closest and we felt that this was emergent) as well as disliking how the hospitals are run. It took almost seven hours to do what amounted to probably thirty minutes to an hour of work (blood work, x Ray, CT scan) when the ER had very little foot traffic and plenty of people standing around complaining about their jobs. They finally transferred to cox south her due to a tear in her aorta. They changed their attitudes completely after her diagnosis and downplayed the severity of her condition and even told her daughter that it would be fine to still go on vacation when she could die soon. They had treated her like a drug seeking idiot for legitimate pain. I would recommend just taking the extra time to drive across town to Cox south even if it is closest to you, because the people here are burn outs that don't like their jobs and will not treat you well.

Took my wife to the ER Friday night with chemical burns all over the top of her hands. They had her in and out in 20 minutes, just slabbed some cream on her, gave her a few naproxen and sent her on her way. It got worse and we went to the Urgent Care at Mercy on Saturday. They gave her a stack of medicated gauze, a real painkiller and a number for a burn doctor to set up an appointment to get her properly treated. In 2 days she's healed remarkably. This hospital is a joke.

They yell at the adolescents for getting up to throw away a juice box. We can't talk about religion in there. It was literally prison. We didn't breath fresh air for the entire time we are there. The food always arrived dry. bland, and cold. During week days, they serve green beans. Every day. The group therapy was the worst out of all of it. He made us feel hurt and neglected. It was our faults for getting in the situation of being abused, or raped, or just in a bad relationship. From what I hear, Lakeland is better. At least there they can communicate regularly.
