Nia Hill Review of Phoebe Putney Health System

HORRIBLE!!! I have read through the reviews and I would like to add my thoughts. I agree this hospital is one that has a handful of good hearted employees yet the rest are horrible and judgmental individuals who like to point the finger yet do not hold any accountability for their own actions. For example nurses falling asleep at the nurses station or causing the blood of a patient to spray into the halls from the patients room due to the improper intravenous negligence of a nurse. As a previous Tech I have experienced the bullying from co workers mostly the nurses... especially the charge nurse on the General Med floor. Most of the doctors are just dead inside, no personality or empathy whatsoever. All of the contracted nurses that came to the hospital to work that I personally encountered came out of character due to the unprofessionalism in the environment and could not wait until their contracted ended! In my opinion, they were sane and caring compared to the people who worked at Phoebe. Phoebe is a ''who you know'' hospital, less about experience... meaning they will put someone in a position they are not qualified for over someone who is based on the fact that the person is for Albany, they are good at kissing a** or they know someone. NOTHING TO DO WITH KNOWLEDGE OR EXPERIENCE. Most staff do not get breaks as they are told to swipe out for their lunch breaks yet are expected to worked through the time and swipe back in. From what I witnessed and what the contracted nurses complained of were... as a nurse you transport your own patients along with vitals, charting, meds, assisting patients and techs if possible etc. especially when short staffed as Phoebe usually is. I worked one whole side of the hall while another tech worked the other side, two techs to a floor for 12 hr shifts including the fact they call you on your day off to pick up hours. The ratio of care provider to patient is so off. This is where the overworked comments in this comment section come from. As staff you are not allowed to post true thoughts or opinions on social media as the company monitors it and makes staff remove it if seen. If they tell you that there it's an open door policy, it's a lie. They (Upper management and down) DO NOT mind letting you go to cover their paycheck and vulture mindset as they gang up on the person who chooses not to ''Drink the Kool-Aid.'' Albany is a very small town. I had to speak the truth as a fair warning to others.
