We had a lovely stay in the beautiful Plazzo Versace and dined in the restaurant Vanitas. The rooms were very nicely appointed and generously sized. The staff were very informative and helpful.

Stayed here a few weeks ago.
For years I had wanted to stay here, I love the Versace brand and couldn't wait to be surrounded by such luxury. Boy was I beyond disappointment. The carpet on our level was disgusting and needed a good steam clean, the corridor smelt, all of the furniture in the rooms were chipped and dated. The tv was old and slow, the pool furniture was dirty and the pool heating not even working. The gym was beyond hot and stuffy. Was spoken to so rudely by a staff member and when complained to the staff about our experience was offered wine and other goodies that never showed up!
How this "resort" feels they have the right to charge what the day is beyond me.
Dont fall for the Versace name like I did!

We won a voucher to stay here for a weekend and it was beautiful. The Versace is one of those places where you're surrounded by opulence, in every little detail. There is apparently 11 million dollars worth of marble here too!

We attended the high tea for a friend's hens party. The food was delicious but would have been better if there was a menu of sort or a sign for each little dish so we knew what we were eating

The staff here at Vercaces shine. Every single one of them were amazing. Room was very clean, and comfortable. We had a great view overlooking the pool area and the Broadwater.
The Hotel is looking a little tired though.
The food was satisfactory but the restaurant we dined at lacked ambience. (IL Barocco) But you know what........Id still go back.

I watched this place being built! Attended many lunches and dinners with friends over all these years but NEVER stayed overnight. Our daughter turned 26 and we all flew up from Sydney to celebrate. First class all the way here, the food is outstanding as usual but the room is an experience from the moment you walk in it s Versace everywhere what a great feeling! Thankyou Palazzo Versace for making our daughters birthday one to remember

Arrived for Lunch and had an iced coffee to wait till 12 noon.the waiter was a very polite Frenchman and we loved the iced coffee which was worth the 9 dollars.
Then we were seated for lunch and the young waitress with no makeup and very bad skin rearranged the cutlery by touching the knives on the blade and the glasses by the top rim...we ordered lamb and also fish.the lamb was bland so was the mashed potatoes and my fish was miniature...never ever did I get such a small piece. Any pub meal and any bistro will serve you a better meal.I didn't mind paying a higher price.. but the food was rediciolous. We loved the interior and the theme... just beautiful... Will return for iced coffee only.
And something else bothered me... why don't they have a doorperson ? A huge amount of ferrals in singlets and barefoot came through. I don't get it ? Pubs have dress codes.

Good

We booked two rooms through a Luxury Escapes package. We were highly anticipated our stay as we had previously stayed at Versace. What a disappointment this stay was, even our teenage daughters remarked that the hotel had lost its class and was looking very dated.

Our rooms were old, and overlooked a concrete wall of a car park, the air conditioning was so noisy at night we had to turn it off, with the room becoming quite warm and stuffy. The hotels solution was to offer us a fan that never arrived during our 5 night stay.

I also notice that on three days our room had not been cleaned until a least after 2pm, not good.

Our package included unlimited in house movies. However, we were not able to access this as our room did not have the required connection and the TV was too old. No solution was provided once again, we were told that IT would be advised.

The pool area is very average and the service for drinks and food is quite poor as the wait is way too long for both finding a wait staff, placing an order and receive your order. Certainly does not get my vote as the sexiest pool.

Upon departure I noticed that we were charged for two days car park which totally $60 (valet) I know that is not much money, but I refuse to pay for a service I did not use. I rang the hotel to advise and was told they would check with valet. 3 days later I noticed the money had come out of my account and I have not received a response on my bill enquiry. If proper check and records had been made and kept this would not be an issue as we certainly did not use the valet. I will continue to chase this on principle.

Overall our stay was very tarnished and disappointing. Will certainly not being staying there again. Hotel needs some serious updating. Customer service is very lacking in certain areas.

Just an update, Versace did refund the $60 valet charge.

We had been over to Queensland and NSW for a incorporated work / holiday with family including our delightful grandsons aged 5 and 2 so we had done the theme parks and wildlife centres for 11 days so we were beginning to feel rather frazzled!
Our family left before us so we had an extra 3 days on our own, (with nowhere booked for the extra nights) we headed off down to Fishermans Wharf for lunch, hubby decided he needed the toilet so after hunting around for a while we found the public toilet supplied by the hotel, after seeing the opulence of the toilets we decided to have a quick look around the place, well once inside that was it we were staying there come hell or high water!
We were treated like royalty from the word go, the lady on reception couldn't have been nicer, we were booked in with no problems - with a price that was only slightly more expensive than the serviced apartment we had looked at in Southport and we got breakfast included, the whole place is amazing with just the right amount of bling without being gaudy.
Our room which was beautiful and spotlessly clean opened onto the pool, the bed and pillows were amazingly comfortable.
Breakfast was extremely good and catered for all tastes, the waiting staff were very proficient and friendly.
The concierge and valet parking team set your day off well with their lovely lively banter, and very good area knowledge -- nothing was too much trouble for any of the staff in this amazing hotel!

Three of us booked a high tea with high expectations. What a disappointment. We arrived at 11.00am for our booking and went across to an unmanned counter and waited for 5 - 10 minutes till somone finally noticed us.
We were escorted to our table and then found we had been given two different menu versions. When the waitress came over she advised which one was correct. We ordered 3 couture high teas...one with a mocktail, the other 2 with a cocktail, a soy latte, 1 earl gray tea and 1 rose vanilla tea as outlined on the menu and included in the high tea.
The food came out in about 20 minutes and looked amazing. But where were our drinks??? The server also noticed our drinks hadn't arrived so said she would get onto this for us straight away.
Thinking they were on the way we tucked in. Another 20 minutes ticked by....we were getting pretty thirsty.
The server passed by and we managed to grab her attention again. She once more advised she would look into it...i asked if we could have some water while we were waiting. "Of course" she advised and again waltzed off.
We were incredulous at this stage....were we really sitting in a 6 star hotel paying $65 per head for a renowned high tea??
Another 15 minutes....still no drinks or even the water we asked for. I managed to locate some glasses and water jugs at the end of the bar where the servers filled up glasses for patrons and helped myself. Staff whizzed by but not one person stopped and offered to help. I took the 3 waters back to our table.
Another 10 minutes passed by and two cocktails finally appeared. We let her know that we were also still waiting on a mocktail, a coffee and two pots of tea. By thus stage totally fed up we asked the server if we could speak to the manager. She got him straight away.
Letting him know what had happened he offered 1 high tea for free.
After all this our other beverages arrived....all i could do was laugh at this stage as the tea type i ordered wasn't what i received.
We left feeling pretty deflated with a bad taste in our mouth possbly caused by the slightly burnt apple mille feuille or the extremly bitter orange eclairs. We didn't even finish everything as the experience had pretty much been ruined by poor service from a non caring staff and manager.
My advice?? Run for the hills... literally! Surely in the gold coast hinterland there is a gorgeous welcoming cute teahouse offering smiling friendly staff, a caring demeanour and delicious devonshire teas at a fraction of the cost?
That's where i will be aiming to head next time.

A fantastic high tea experience in a very well kept hotel. It is in a great location, with easy access as you get free parking. The pool area is to die for. I could spend all day lounging on the beautiful sun beds that are on offer. This hotel is right next to the Marina Mirage shopping precinct for any shopping or dining desires.

Happy Versace is back open.

Checked in @ 3 room wasn't ready and had to wait over an hour to get into our room.
Were told we couldn't get a drink at the bar in the lobby cause they were too busy ( not all tables were full).
Restaurant was booked out.
Miraculously after having to complain we got a table in the bar. Staff were very apologetic and we were given a complimentary drink.
Spas weren't working in the indoor pool section...massage was good though.
Beds are comfy
Breakfast was good.
SeaWorld resort has a great seafood buffet (had to go there as restaurants booked out in Versace)

In terms of food and service the Plazzo Versace is one of the best hotels I have stayed in. The fine dinning Italian restaurant is the perfect spot for a long lunch with amazing views of the pool and top quality food. The tiger prawns were the best I ve ever had. The breakfast and dinner buffets are excellent and the service is of very high standard. The pool area is great for children with a man made beach and shallow area. Some areas of the hotel could use a little touch up, but the service makes the hotel shine. Nice little touches like live music in the lobby area each evening and beautiful daily flower arrangements put this hotel above the rest. I would definitely recommend.

The personal and thoughtful treatment we received when management become aware that our mother was staying there on her 89th birthday. Very special memories from the spa to the delicious food and beautiful room overlooking the 68m pool made sweeter by the experiences we all had at Palazzo Versace. Thank you.

An almost timeless facility, the only down is that it's showing its age and to me needs a little investment to bring it up to what was its former glory. Having said that the staff were amazing and it's in a stunning location. Breakfast was as good as any. Dinner was not bad but was not quite up to the level that you would expect for the cost (we chose Vanitas than the buffet). However the service was next level. For what we paid for our accommodation we would not hesitate returning.

Nice hotel getting tired for its age needs some attention to basics light lighting and carpets, decor is okay if that's your style, staff are friendly but could be better at pointing out features like the heated pool on cooler days. Beds are comfortable and nice amenities but the TV's are small and have screen burn from sitting on menus for too long.

By far the fanciest place iv ever stayed. The entrance is amazing with its chandelier and the rolls Royce in the drive way. Rooms are beautiful and tastefully decorated. Pool area (private beach) is a great addition and full gym area is awesome not to mention the day spa! Absolutely amazing. Highly recommended. Oh and it has a whole room for pooping! Like a whole room the size of my entire bathroom!

well

I enjoyed the degustation we had in the restaurant here. Although some of the meals weren't amazing, the overall opulence, that every single thing is Versace whether cutlery, plates, cushions or rugs, makes it a very exciting experience for Versace fans - but I wouldn't have given such a high score if it wasn't for the customer service i.e. they gave us a little Versace gift and card which made the night a very memorable and special occasion. Versace gift = happy me. Haven't stayed as a guest in the hotel though so can't comment on that but overall a beautiful place worth visiting at least once if not just for some photos of all the Versace everywhere!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Versace. Service and food was excellent. We were also upgraded to a suite room due do a small leak in the corridor outside our original room. Furniture is starting to look a bit dated as should probably be reupholstered but that's probably our only criticism.

I've been to the Versace a few times now, and all ...

I've been to the Versace a few times now, and all I can say is that it's sadly getting worse and worse. When I first came here, the place was so classy (and worth your money), to the extent that people were not allowed to wear singlets, beachwear and thongs into the restaurant for breakfast.

I'm into Day 2 of our stay here, and it's extremely disappointing so far.

Soon after we checked in, we were berrated by one of the service staff when trying to take a lift down, and he was going up. I let it slide because it was already around 4pm and we just wanted to get to the pool and relax a bit before dinner.

When we arrived at the pool, I proceeded to the pool house to ask for some towels. They didn't have any, and told me to go back up to our room to get our towels. No worries, we didn't need to swim. We decided to order a couple of drinks. We placed our order, and were asked where we are sitting. I replied that we hadn't chosen a place yet, and they said we needed to choose one and give them the seat/table number, so they could place the order and bring our drinks to us. Despite searching several times on the seats we eventually chose, I couldn't find any numbers. Their response was to keep refusing assistance to us, and sending me back to look for the number again. This happened 3 times. I eventually found the seat numbers, by which time the pool fellow told my husband he could "just wait and take the drinks from the bar" himself. Great service.

Before we left, I asked to book a cabana for the next day. To my knowledge from prior visits, you have to book them per day at a price of $50. I was told that you can't pre-book them- you have to come down in the morning on the same day and book them, and told that it was "first in best dressed". No worries. Came down the next morning at about 9am and asked to book a cabana. When they were about to search for me, the "manager" piped up and said "oh sorry, We've actually had a lot of people book them online overnight". Sorry, what? I was told you can't book them in advance. And to make things better, he was speaking to me with such a sarcastic tone of voice and look on his face that I was convinced he was joking for about 5 minutes, and in fact asked several times whether he was kidding.

Meanwhile, there are now people sleeping on the towels on the floor by the pool, while so many cabanas sit there empty.

I have approached the reception today and told them how disappointed we are, and to their credit they have said they will try to assist.

Generally speaking though, this place is not worth the money. You're better off going somewhere like the Sheraton across the road, or the Marriott. Unless you want to pay for their bath slippers- that's probably the best part of coming here.

We recently spent three nights at Palazzo Versace to celebrate our 44th wedding anniversary. The whole experience was very enjoyable. On arrival, we were delighted to find that we had been upgraded to a Lagoon view room. While waiting for our room to be prepared, we were offered a free drink from the nearby bar. Soon after we had settled in, a staff member brought us a small celebratory cake and congratulatory card! Unbelieveably, a second cake was brought to our table when we had dinner the night of our anniversary! The staff were friendly and helpful without exception, while the food at all times was excellent . Lunch at the Vanitas Italian restaurant was exceptional (Thanks for your friendly and efficient service Logan!). All in all, a memorable experience! Thanks to all at Versace Gold Coast!
