My partner and I stayed here for a weekend for celebrate our anniversary. Room was on the more $$$ side however was 110% worth it. Room was spotless , view amazing, service amazing! Very good attention to detail even with the chocolates that the cleaning staff leave behind.
Breakfast was included with our stay , was very delicious , food was nothing out of the ordinary!

Definitely did not feel like a 5 star hotel. I d say it was average... rooms were okay, we got a terrible view, breakfast was okay, pool was cold, reception staff was lovely but breakfast staff definitely didn t want to be there.
Would not go back.. looks much nicer in pictures.... save your pennies and go somewhere else not all it s made out to be sadly.

I would definitely rather stay in my own home. Even compared to the "celebrity" suites, my home is bigger the furniture is more comfortable, it is surrounded by 2 acres of vineyard with native animals, and I much prefer the decor. As for the view, who wants a view of concrete? I'd rather sit on a towel on the beach and watch the kids play and the clouds in the sky. but I guess it's more about who knows that you're staying at the hotel.rather than your actual experience of being there.

The place needs a serious refurbishment. It appears that it has not been renovated or updated since it was built. There is paint crackling off the walls in some areas, and badly discoloured paint and columns.

Service was nothing special.

If you want to charge the prices you are charging its time to spend some money on the actual building!

Took my wife there for a break over Xmas. Frustratingly there wasn t enough pool loungers (just 25 in the adult section) for guests nor umbrellas which is crucial in the strong Aussie sun. The cabanas are not available for guests unless you pay extra $199-$599 day package, which meant they were all reserved every day but not actually being used in lots of occasions (while their customers couldn t find any spots to enjoy sun/pool) such a shameful way of trying to squeeze more money out guests already paying top rates (599 to 799 a night).

Also the staff were inconsistent in what the rules were around the pool facilities. People throw their towels on the loungers & staff do not remove them even though their policy says they will so to free up the unused lounger. They could easily improve their facilities by removing some of the fountains and creating more sun lounger areas. Also train your staff to be consistent & more customer focused. Managers the same, also thy should be onsite monitoring & enforcing the customer first policies.

They hotel itself is a little run down & has small "studio" rooms (bathroom separated from the bedroom by a glass screen) The hotel is located right beside a busy motorway so bring ear plugs.

We didn't stay, but we did have the Buffet at IL BAROCCO,
First the place looks the same as it did 15 years ago, however the standard in IL BAROCCO has dropped, I called in and booked a spot for 5:30pm, and when I got there all the way from Brisbane, I was told that they can't find my booking, this was also the same with someone behind us, lucky they found us a seat, there was anoughter family who came in later and there booking was lost also, so 3 in the one night is pretty terrible , good customer service would have given us a discount for the mess up, but that didn't happen.
Second, what happened to the quality of the food, the Buffet used to be what I used to brag about and now , I wouldn't recommend it, the seafood wasn't fresh, however the meat was good, the coffee was pretty terrible, and the desert , well lets just say that that part has dropped big time, this is not a cheap buffet, and too be honest, when I pay a premium price, I expect quality.
Would I come back, NO, I think I'll go to the casino buffet or QT next time.

Absolute poor service there. Basically like the movie Pretty Woman. Turning us away because of how we looked. We ended up going across the road to Sheraton where we were treated like kings and queens! Doesn't take much to provide good service and definitely wasn't at Versace!

I'm unsure why some of the other comments aren't over 5 stars.. Oh wait- Palazzo Versace is 5 star! I recently spent 4 days and was not disappointed! From the pool (which is really a beach) to the shower gels, i was amazed! The room service was great, the foods were delicious! And I can't forget the art walking through the hallways! I'm unsure if these people are criticising Palazzo Versace because they're all critics (congratulations if so) or just plain annoyed because they could only stay for an hour. Keep doing what you're doing Palazzo Versace! I highly recommend this location to any couple who wish to take their relationship to new heights! Even to a family with higher taste. Palazzo Versace never ceases to amaze me!

Most of the online reviews considering this place ...

Most of the online reviews considering this place is pricey to stay at Palazzo Versace, but consider each room comes with free breakfast for two and $30 drink voucher, I would say it's a reasonable price to stay two nights for a holiday trip.

We booked two rooms that next to each other, thanks for the room arrangement from the front desk, that we could close the hallway door and open both room doors, much easy for us to visit kids room at night. The swimming pool area is very nice, be there a bit early and you could get free beach chair and bed for the day. Note you get $30 drink voucher each room each day, we spent it on cold drink and pizza while staying in the swimming pool. The free breakfast is another gem of the trip, it's one of the best in Gold Coast, plenty to choose and good for a day.

Don't forget to book a private indoor pool, to enjoy the quiet and private experience next to the spa area. We booked there twice and everyone enjoyed there a lot!

We also love the check-out time is 11am for this hotel, where we could spend the morning time for many other activities after breakfast.

We booked the cheapest room for $500/night in the beginning of Jan 2020. We booked the cheapest price for just $399/night in Sep last year.

I stayed their with family week-end just gone... Was truly disappointed, the hotel rooms were great, but the service was very poor.
it was very hard to get served for lunch and drinks, we had to clear our own table and go to the bar and order drinks...room service was very slow and to top it off we were overcharged on our credit card...

I ve had very beautiful memories of palazzo Versac...

I ve had very beautiful memories of palazzo Versace - booked first week when it opened back in 2000 and the memories hold a special place in my heart. Stayed at the hotel again numerous times including a very special occasion where the family decided to spoil my mother after having her cancer treatment. This year, I chose palazzo Versace for my 28th birthday retreat. Everything was wonderful up to the certain point where the room given to us was originally facing a terrible view and we could hear what sounded like loud ventilation noises coming from Marina Mirage. We were quickly moved to a better room facing the lagoon but still wondered as to why were given the other room in the first place after specifying the special occasion. I was given a small birthday cake on arrival which was a sweet gesture but I do believe that such a prestigious hotel could do better as I ve stayed at the Palm Springs in California for my birthday the previous year and was gifted a bouquet of roses and a large fruit basket including chocolates. But the main reason as to why I m disappointed is the lack of customer care as I called regarding my lost necklace. When I called the reception the lady said they did find the necklace. I wonder why they didn t bother to contact me. I asked for it to be mailed to me ASAP as it holds significant meaning to me - a gold orthodox cross necklace. The concierge showed lack of sympathy as she stated her shift was fast over and put me on hold once as she sounded annoyed. Also told me that I have to help/cooperate on my end. I was doing my best however having trouble converting word to pdf to digitally sign a form for Versace to send my necklace. Was happy to authorise payment for tracking but seriously having trouble and was terribly upset and asked for a goodwill gesture to mail to me. The concierge still showed no sympathy as I was close to tears. She was firm on not helping as she reiterated her shift been over. Till now, as I m writing my review I don t know how to get my necklace back! The service had really ruined my memories of the beautiful care of staff and just a goodwill gesture would ve meant a lot

Highlights have to be the buffet breakfast and lunch. The food is absolutely incredible. The service is absolutely appalling for what is considered a 5 star hotel. The amenities are clean but a touch tired.

Our 5 day stay was enjoyable but not 5 star. The room was lovely, as was the bathroom. We did have to ring Housekeeping a few times however. The large pillows were rather lumpy so we asked if they had different pillows, which they did, latex orthopaedic pillows...that was a plus. One day we were not given any milk and had to request it and the coffee sachets were rationed to 4 a day, as was the soap. 5 days with only one cake of soap for the hand basin, shower and bathtub? We had our own shower gel fortunately. The shampoo and conditioner was made in China....probably cheap rubbish we would not use.
The seafood buffet was both good and not so good. Large prawns and crab that were watery and tasteless (defrosted?) and average oysters. The deserts however were to die for. A mixed experience of both good and not so good. The staff on the whole were excellent except for one lady in the restaurant who forgot my coffee order at breakfast two days in a row.
I don't think we would bother to return.
One thing I found a bit upsetting was the ducks and ducklings in the swimming pool. Duck poo is not exactly healthy in and around swimming pools and the ducklings will starve if they can't escape the pool area. One duckling was already looking a death's door after being accosted/grabbed by a guest's child. Why not ring a wildlife rescue and have the ducks relocated to a natural environment after the ducklings hatched?

We visited the hotel restaurant with great expectations. Unfortunately we left disappointed and hungry. It looks like the chefs made an effort to remove all taste from all shellfish / seafood dishes. They sucseeded. I could not find any taste left in shellfish, even baby octopus and squid salads had the same undescriblabe taste and consistency of the wash cloth. Attempt to find something edible failed after trying tough dry and unseasoned chicken and pork belly. I was not aware that is even possible to cook pork belly that bad.
Attempt to drain the sorrow in wine, was considerable delayed by the waiting staff.
Over half an hour wait for the drink that I have not orderd to reach the table and another 10 to get the one that was ordered.
Next time RSL.....

My favourite place to stay on the Gold Coast. Have been here many times. Favourite thing about it is the Seafood Buffet. It is well worth the money and not to be missed. Kids will love the dessert bar. Best one I've seen!

One of the best hotels on the Gold Coast, one would be mistaken to think that is too expensive for them to go, I would say that this could not be further from the truth. A highly recommended place to host functions/events, and a wonderful place to stay.

Excellent establishment - food is first class and the decor is brilliant. Reasonably expensive but you get what you pay for and therefore the price is well worth the experience. The staff were extremely helpful and professional.

Tiered furniture , tiered building i don't even consider it a three star hotel and some of the staff are not trained for five star service.
Im staying in one of there suites vary basic , i feel that im in an American style hotel.
O i forgot i ordered late night room service vary basic setup and when the waiter brought the food the drinks were missing the glasses, i asked him and said the glass are in the minibar !!!!
So please don't get your expectations up when coming to this property.
Definitely my last time , i wished that i didnt prepaid !

Had a high tra. Absolutely awful food, far too many high sugar sweets. Terrible service. Had the plates on the table for 4 hours and was only offered a tea or coffee after being there for 3 hours. Asked for bill and 50 minutes later we had to ask again. Big waste of time and money. Wouldn't recommend.

Came here a few years ago during my trip to the Gold Coast. I had drinks and dessert in the lobby and it was lovely. Loved the luxurious atmosphere and loved the view of the pool from the lobby, thought it was very grand and perfect for the Gold Coast atmosphere being all about the waterview. Would definitely recommend this place.
