The Resort is excellent !!
From the location, restaurant, services and all infrastructure.
The rooms are new and warm.
The food is very good and there are lots of choices.
The entertainment team is sociable and very lively!
All staff are helpful and attentive.

The best thing I've been to as a resort, excellent food, excellent service, everything very clean, and good treatment from all the staff no matter where you are in the resort. IT WILL IMPROVE IT !!!

Positive: several restaurants and bars available in the hotel, daily activities, the nightclub we went to every evening, the mini concerts in the small "village square", the very pleasant and funny staff. room was large and well air conditioned. When the air conditioning was on they reacted very quickly. The food was good. Public areas are well maintained.

Negatives: The cleaning ladies do a surface cleaning, the sheets are not changed except at the request of the customer. The cocktails are very sweet and syrup-based, the result is not good !! The fruit served is not of good quality. The food is good but too fatty. We had an incident in a neighboring room, children were crying for help and crying and we therefore tried to reach the reception so that the police or security intervene, they transferred us to the police server despite the fact that the 'we do not speak Spanish, we called them back to have help keeping the children from the next room in our room, no one came, someone could have died that we would never have discovered the corpse, he there is therefore a serious lack of security. The very negative point to raise is the scam that occurs in these places, you are invited to a meeting or someone comes to breakfast with you, in order to sell you the dream of paying for your vacation in 15 years a little every months .... The lady sued us for attending this meeting, and when we explained to her that we understood the scam, she ignored us the following days in the lobby.

Clearly I would stay there again for the pleasant staff, but an effort to be made on cleanliness, safety and commerce.

Overall our stay at Now Larimar was great. A few advantages and disadvantages I want to mention though:

Pro's:

1. Great staff and entertainment crew.
2. Good food.
3. Great pools and beach.
4. Great bars and strawberry daiquiris.

Con's:

1. No wash clothes in our bathroom throughout the whole week.
2. Pressured to come to a "15th anniversary VIP breakfast," upon arrival, after traveling since 3 a.m. My guess is that the just wanted to sell us a time share. Please let me know why your staff does this.
3. Guys on the beach trying to get us to do parasailing and go to their "Shopping Centre."
4. About three out of the six of us had diarrhea and felt bad throughout the week.
5. Very bad tasting Pina Colada.

When you book your trip you expect five star resort when you check in they want to put you on the next-door Motel 6 style .
You have to pay a lot of money to upgrade for your expectation what you see online , What you already paid for . Very disappointment especially when you check late and with kids you don t have no different choice then pay who They want to only escape old part of resort , Motel six style.
Bad business practice , does it matter what kind of card you use if you try to reimburse or put dispute they give runaround even for your Top credit card ,
It s like playing the lottery if you re a winner you can try it but most of us don t

Good Hotel, the staff goes out of their way to make you feel at home, I recommend the thematic restaurants, the very spacious rooms, maybe it lacks a bit of maintenance, unbeatable value for money, very varied and good food, the drinks of midrange brand like Ballantines or J & B

Good choice for an all inclusive hotel with friend...

Good choice for an all inclusive hotel with friendly staff, nice rooms and good choices in the buffet.
The reason for not giving 5 stars are:
- Most alcoholic drinks that were inclusive were below expectations. The red/white wine was completely undrinkable (and believe me, I'm not a fuzzy drinker) - a clear strategy to get guests to spend money on wine bottles for sale.
- The "resort credits" you receive are also sort of a scam. You can only use them to discount to a small degree on regular prices.

Apart from this, it was good. Good value for money all in all I think.

Really enjoyed the staff and pools and grounds were great. Restaurants are a bit lacking but buffet was great. Bring tipping $. Rooms are nice but things seem to break easily: ceiling fan, ac, jacuzzi tub and key lock. But staff is accommodating and let us change rooms. Twice.

We, the "NELSON FAMILY ", Mark, Stephanie, Eric, Jenna, Allysa, Alex, Paul, Lindsay, Brooklyn and Sophia, ABSOLUTELY loved our Preferred Living visit we shared there 2/16-2/23. We could not fault one thing. The beautiful rooms, awesome food, full range of activities, private preferred crystal pools, white beach, entertainment, stores, etc...were beyond excellent.The concierge service was remarkable. I want to thank and bless GLADYS, (who should be dating that hottie W. ), in the PREFERRED LOUNGE SERVICE personally for TAKING CARE of me, Stephanie Nelson, when I had been neglective using lip sunscreen and severely blistered my lips from too much wind, sun and salt. I ended up in PAIN for hours that in my room. Several times, GLADYS CHECKED ON ME AND GRANTED MY EVERY NEED. SHE is a true GEM. I LOVE HER MUCH FOR CARING FOR ME FOR HOURS and even until we left for home!!! OUR PRIVATE CONCIERGE, WARNES (? correct name spelling and he should be dating that sweetheart G. ), WAS THE BEST EVER!! We all LOVE THAT YOUNG MAN!!! HE saw to our every need. OUR entire family from Minnesota adored him. My 4 young grandchildren made him a lovely card even. PLEASE PROMISE TO THANK HIM AGAIN AND SEND HIM LOVE FROM ALL 10 OF US!!!!! Everyone was superb, but GLADYS and WARNES WERE INCOMPARABLE. It is people, like these 2, that can make or break even a 5 star hotel. We hope to see you all again!

Great service, attentive and happy workers. Delicious food and drinks. The pool areas are very good and the green areas very well cared for. The sea front is just wonderful !!! I would go back again for sure.

Very disappointing. They booked our rooms in the Now Gardens which are extremely outdated and away from the main resort. To move rooms into the main part of the resort they demanded more money. People badger you through out the resort, pool and beach to sell you things. The New Years dinner was questionable as was the entertainment.
We also booked excursions through Amstar which is the preferred company at the Now Larimar. They lied about travel times for our tour. Instead of 8 hours it took 14! Most of which that time was spent on a bus. The boat we went on did not have proper life jackets for two of our children and the ocean was very rough. While on the excursion the tipping was extensive as everyone had a hand out. When we reached the horse back riding party of our trip they did not have enough helmets for our children. The volunteers at the horseback ride departed our family and put our children at risk when riding the horses down steep slopes and passing horses on narrow paths. My daughter's leg is bruised from running into other peoples horses. After the horseback ride the volunteers/ guides circled our family and said we needed to tip them more.
The entire experience was extremely disappointing and outrageously expensive considering how it was managed.
Our disappointment continued as the Now Larimar would not help with our frustrations with the Amstar company they house.
I would highly recommend checking into different resorts if Punta Cana is your destination.

We apparently had an error with the reservation (apparently a problem with our travel agency) and the treatment, presumably due to the Dominican condition by some of our companions, was daunting. It would seem that we were animals in their eyes, preventing us from even staying in the reception room after a certain time, waiting to solve our problem. All this despite approaching night hours, with the consequent risk to our private security when we are expelled from the hotel complex.

Not only that ... a member of the front desk pretended we were corrupted by giving him a bribe to stay in a room. Obviously we refuse. This attests to the behavior of the reception of this hotel, being sure that if we had been Caucasian, the treatment would have been exquisite.

This makes me ask myself a very sad question, judging from previous experiences: in this country the American or European foreigner is treated immeasurably better than the countryman, who is despised as if he were a mangy dog.

Overall the experience was a good one. The beach is beautiful. The rooms were spacious. The staff were courteous and friendly. The alcohol flows constantly and mixed drinks are quite good. El presidente is the beer you want. The food though leaves a lot to be desired though. Castaways is really the only consistent quality restaurant. In a lot of cases, the language barrier resulted in wrong orders. If these were real restaurants in a bustling city, they'd be out of business quickly.

It has several specialty restaurants (which are not their strong point because despite having supposedly cuisine from other countries, it has no level), buffet, several pools, it is quiet, etc.

The staff were very friendly. The resort was beautiful and the beach was very nice. We really enjoyed the pools. The drinks were great, there was even real pineapple in the pina collada.

The food was questionable. The a la carte restaurants were pretty good with the French restaurant, Mercure, being the best. The buffets were not. The food was cold in the serving trays. We even had a fresh tray of eggs come out that were cold leading me to believe that they are not holding their food at the proper temperatures at all. Raw burgers at the beach grill were sitting out with no refrigeration for who knows how long. A lot of people in our group ended up with some gastrointestinal issues. The lunch and dinner buffets looked like they were reusing food from the previous meal instead of cooking anything fresh.

This resort could really improve on their food handling and preparation.

The setting is superb (sea, sand, sunset ... as on postcards)
The rooms are clean and spacious (do not forget the tip!)

I've been to Punta Cana a couple times and this was my least favorite resort. No one cares and no one will go "the Extra mile" for you. A month before I arrived. I called to have something set up for my mother in laws birthday. They kept hanging up on me constantly. Finally spoke to the concierge and nothing was done when we arrived or even after. They just gave me a cake from the buffet area and that was it. We arrived at the resort at 2pm. Regulars check in is at 3pm. Our room weren't ready till 4:30pm. The rooms smell and had mold everywhere. My family and I had sore throats every morning. The bathrooms in the buffet area have mold everywhere too. It's diguisting. Chairs are all torn and ripped up. The atmosphere was very dull. No fun activities. The kids club was amazing. I have a 5 and 6 year old and they didn't want to leave that place. They were very well entertained and gave the kids food and prizes for playing games. The restaurants were not the greatest. They gave you a small portion of food, the long waiting was annoying. The best one was probably hibachi restaurant. I will never recommend this resort to any one.

Very nice resort, very clean, good for families with young children, lots of activities at the pool. Entertaining team very nice and friendly , great people, Luis the Best, Baby Face, Super Mambo, Fifty cents, Cappucino.
Waiters at the pool, La Chica, Juan .. Waiters in the Carnaval Buffet , Alexander, Orlando, Ray, Christian all nice and friendly guys.

Rooms are clean, variety of food , specialty restaurants are average.

Nice beach, full of seaweed this time of the year but they try to do their best and cleaning the shore every day.

I loved the hotel as it is small and strategically located inside the Now Larimar hotel giving it a touch of exclusivity, excellent the quality of the snacks in the rest Capers, AM Resorts always offer quality products it does not surprise me, an excellent space to relax and best of all all rooms with a small jacuzzi on the balcony.

Enjoyed our trip to Punta Cana but there were challenges with the Now Larimar resort. We arrived to the main pool being closed for maintenance for 3 days. There was other pool area maintenance ongoing during our stay. Our room required maintenance to a leaking air conditioning unit that resulted in falling plaster. We have visited several all inclusive resorts. Our experience in the past was that the staff wanted to do whatever it took to ensure you had a great experience. This was not the case at Now Larimar. I will return to Punta Cana but not to the Now Larimar.

We just came back from our trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. We stayed at Now Larimar Punta Cana and we had that "preferred" price option.
We would NEVER come back and we would NOT recommend anybody to stay in this hotel for the following reasons:
1) We were not happy with our room. Based on our "preferred" status, we were supposed to have ten time better room. Our room was on the ground floor, very dark and smelly. Also, our room was required some repairs in the bathroom and the sliding door was not secured. Even though we asked for a repair, it was never done. Also, we had to ask a few times for fresh towels.
2) When we arrived in our hotel we had to wait for our room until 4:00 p.m. Our suitcases were taken from us as we arrived and we had no chance to change our clothes. Since we arrived to the hotel in the morning, it was one lost day ...
3) We ate all ONLY at the hotel and we were drinking ONLY bottled water that we had at the hotel, but we both got some kind of stomach bag or food poisoning.
4) On the top of the above, a few of our personal clothes were stolen from our room.
5) Overall, service was way below average. Even though this is all-inclusive hotel, this is not a 4 or 5 starts hotel. Period. The fair rating for Now Larimar is only 2 or 3 starts at most.
If you are planning to travel to Dominican Republic, which is beautiful, we would suggest you booking a different hotel.

Horrible food horrible drinks bad service the hotel allowed annoying people in the hotel to sell stuff to the people staying in the hotel. Pestered constantly. Waited about 50 minutes every night just to get another drink. Avoid this place

Just stayed at the resort for a week. A group of 11 of us, and we all have very positive reviews. Personally stayed in a garden view room. That portion of the resort was beautiful, very relaxing and perfect area to disconnect for awhile. The main resort area (Main pool, shops, bars, restaurants...) was very well maintained and delightful experience. You cannot beat the beach area, both the atmosphere and view were incredible. The true treasure of the resort is the staff. I could gone for days with positive remarks and memories we will hold on to.

I ll keep this short. If you are going to Punta Cana, I would HIGHLY recommend you consider this resort.

Have stayed at this resort twice and had an excellent experience both times. My wife and I travel often and this is one resort we don t mind returning for a relaxing fun time. The upgrade service to preferred is worth it. Make sure you visit the Preferred pool bar and ask for Antonio the Boss to mix you a drink !!
