The sound insulation of the hotel is extremely poor.

That the security should all wear the shirt on the inside use good well-trimmed, well-shaved shoes

I'm saying at the Now Larimar and despite an initial rocky start to the holiday I'm happy to report that this hotel has a manager who listens to his guest's concerns. Having stayed at other hotels in the same chain (but at different Carribbean countries) my expectations were, in my opinion, entirely reasonable. I look for cleanliness, good food hygiene, polite staff, well prepared food, basic room amenities, well tended grounds and a general feeling of being made welcome in the hotel. My first impressions were that I would certainly enjoy my stay and all of my boxes were ticked. Unfortunately there was a hiccup and I was delighted that the hotel manager Bernabel Taveras not only listened but took immediate steps to address the issue. It's very reassuring when as a guest of an hotel you realise that your custom is valued and that management are customer satisfaction focused. I shall be editing this review soon to give people a more realistic view on my stay now I am home and awaiting medical results!

Beautiful hotel, especially for the price. I ve been here 4 times and have had a wonderful time. The food and drinks are very tasty. The resort is clean and well maintained. The maids do an excellent job cleaning the rooms. The beach is cleaned daily from seaweed and the sand is soft. The water is calm, unless it s a windy day. I would suggest to upgrade to preferred club for premium alcohol, beach restaurant and to get access to the preferred club beach area, as they have better service and comfier loungers.

The food is little varied and bad. The French and Japanese restaurants are the only ones that are worth it. The room very good air but the jacuzzi never fills with water. Attentions can improve.

Excellent service in general. The first-class attentions, cleaning or talking everything is defined as excellent. I will return as soon as possible

AN HONEST REVIEW!

Beach/Hotel Grounds: The grounds of the hotel are very beautiful and tropical. The beach is nice, however, the seaweed is crazy! They try their best to clean it up, but there is just too much of it.

Hotel Room: The rooms were pretty clean, however, the maid service was not very good. They forgot mutliple times to provide shower towels and soap (basic hotel necesseties) and I had to call room service to get them. They also told me my refrigerator would be restocked every day with any drinks that were consumed and that did not happen so I had to call room service for that as well. Lastly, I was there for a wedding and most of us had upgraded to the preferred club so you would think all of us would get the same things in our room...I thought wrong! Some rooms had a robe and slippers, a bottle of rum, and different soaps and lotions. It was very annoying trying to explain to them how some rooms had certain things that others did not that should have been provided.

Food: The food tasted average to above average at best. However, BE WARNED, you WILL get diarrhea eating food here. Everyone in the wedding party suffered from diarrhea, and none of us drank the water.

Pools: The pools were nice and for the most part, well maintained. However, they do not stay open very late (only till 6-7pm) and there is no adult's only pool so that was very annoying due to the number of children that frequented the pools. Also, the "preferred" club pools really were not preferred. Anyone could walk in and use the pool. Preferred club is not worth the extra money here.

Overall: I would probably not return here by choice. The diarrheal illness alone would keep me far away from this place. It is all you can eat and drink, but if you are sick the entire time, you don't eat or drink anything..maybe that is their plan?

Where to start?! We visited now larimar for 12 days as a family vacation/wedding/honeymoon with a total of 38 people all adults except one 8 year old girl. As soon as we got off the shuttle bus we were greeted by the bell boys - Alexis C who immediately helped us with our bags and directed us where to go next. We walked into the lobby where we were immediately greeted again by the concierge and all handed a nice cold drink which was a very nice and appreciated touch after a day of traveling. We were then whisked away to the preferred club as we had chosen to upgrade to the at for our wedding/honeymoon. In the mean time our families were taken care of at the front desk . The preferred club was very nice and clean and everyone was very friendly and accommodating. There were snack and drinks both alcoholic and non alcoholic. Once Cesar arrived he had it arranged for me to leave my wedding dress there since i was uncomfortable leaving it out front with the other luggage. Cesar then showed us around and then to the preferred club restaurant castaways (which was very good and had the best breakfast and french fries) and said we should eat and then our room would be ready. Which when we were done eating, it was! Cesar escorted us to our room and long behold my wedding dress was already there laying on the bed. :) i couldnt be more thankful Cesar took care of my dress while we settled in. Once Cesar showed us around some more he let us be while we got settled in and met back up with our families. Throughout the trip we did one of catamaran cruises, dealt with Santo at the seapros hut. He gave us the beat prices for the booze cruise and we got a private boat since we had over 20 people which was awesome! Well worth it since it seems like they really pack the boat other times to the point you cant move. We also did the banana boat and parasailing. Another couple that came with us were also apart of the preferred club. Their butlers name was Nelson and he was awesome as well. Our friends and ourselves had ordered 4 cabanas total that week which were extra and Nelson always made it happen and really took care of our friends and us at times even though he wasnt our butler. We spent a lot of time around the pool and always woke up early to get a shaded seat. Karen in the wedding department took care of everything from top to bottom, beginning to end and start to finish with the wedding. She helped ensure i covered every detail that comes with planning a wedding. Especially a destination wedding. Which is GREATLY appreciated because i was so nervous not knowing what everything was going to look like/turn out like. our families and friends left after spending a week with us. My husband(at this point) and i then stayed an extra 4 days as our honeymoon. Cesar was able to get us a beautifully upgraded room with an outside jacuzzi tub. He personally assisted us in moving all of our belongings from one room to the next. He took special note to what my husband and myself were always drinking and always checked the fridge and then with us if we wanted more of whatever it was refilled. Cesar knew it was our wedding week/honeymoon and on many occasions he left flower petals in our room, drew such nice warm baths with bubbles and champagne and more rose petals in the tub. It made you feel like you were in a fairytale. It was such an awesome feeling. He also labeled our door for wedding couple and honeymoon which was a cute touch. He also filled our outdoor jacuzzi for us twice when we went to dinner and he had it fulled, hot, with rose petals and champagne and chocolate covered strawberries for when we returned. Our trip was already great, but having Cesar as our butler made everything ONE MILLION times better and enjoyable. You really felt pampered and well taken care if because of Cesar. Not sure when we ll be back, but when we do come back we will definitely be requesting Cesar.

Very pleasant stay. 4 1/2 out of 5*, Google didn't let me rate the 1/2. We just came back from Punta Cana, where we stayed at this resort. The food was good ,staff was very professional ,helpful and friendly, room was clean and the resort through out was very well maintained and clean. The only things are ,room was a bit outdated and the resort was small, hence, small beach front . We had to get up early to get a spot, or else by midday there would be no more vacancy, not even one with no shade. If you travel with kids, I'd recommend opting for the preferred section, this will save time walking back and forth as there was a restaurant for meals right at the beach front. We didn't take this option, which we regretted, because we had to walk back and forth to get food for the kids (my children are 3 years old and 9 months old) at the buffet further inside the resort. We could get away with giving food from the snack bar, which offered BBQ finger food such as fries ,hot dog and burgers, to the toddler but with the baby we needed hot water for her cereal or soft food like soup or mashed potatoes. Plus ,the beach for preferred section always had vacant spots. Other than that, we had a very pleasant stay at the resort .Highly recommended .

If i could give this place 0 stars I would. My family and i came in a group of 30 and to say I was disappointed with my stay would be an understatement. The so called VIP was an absolute joke. The food here was not fresh, hot, or appetizing at all and the worst part was that things were stolen from my family members. We stayed here from 9/7-9/11, on 9/9 my sister and her boyfriends PS4, IPad, MacBook, and a book bag was stolen. You would think with all the money we paid that they would try to help or accommodate. That was not the case at all. There was a fake investigation going on and they are all in cahoots with one another. These people are thieves, liars, and don t care. I will never come to this hotel or even Punta Cana ever again. There are plenty of vacations and hotels to go to and i promise i will never be back and ensure that i will let everyone i know to never waste your time or spend your money here. They sell you a dream with these photos don t fall for it.

It is a very nice all inclusive hotel. Very good service and excellent food.

Really nice place, there's a few things that could use TLC (like the trampoline missing half its springs). Service is incredible, they come by every 10-15 minutes when you're poolside. I enjoyed all the food I ate, buffet has great selection and the other restaurants did not disappoint.

Here we spent our holidays and honeymoon as we had dreamed. Excellent, eager to return.

My family and I had an excellent weekend in this hotel, its restaurants are exquisite, mainly Japanese food, the animation team very good, and what impressed me the most was the removal of the trunk that resuscitated us with wet towels and a Welcome drink, the porter Juan Francisco received us with an impressive smile and gave us all the information about the place with a very cordial treatment I felt at home my next vacation I have no doubts where to spend them. My family was impressed with the staff who treat us as if we were at home. We hope to return soon.

Con's: A little bit to much selling. Time share upgrades etc. It was not to the point where it was bothersome just a bit much. Dinners were good but not 5 star. Breakfast was outstanding.

Helpful hint: While it is "all inclusive" this is a third world country. Do the right thing and bring $150 in ones for every week that you are staying and leave a few bucks for everybody who treats you well. They will will remember you and their families will appreciate it.

Grounds were very nice, staff was friendly and helpful. Food and restaurants were good. Rooms were just so so. On our second night a piece of the ceiling fell where the air conditioner had been leaking for awhile. Next day they moved us to a new room so they could make repairs and upgraded our family to a better room with the upgraded pool/restaurant package for our inconvenience. Overall Punta Cana was a great vacation, but I would probably stay at another resort next time.

The resort is beautiful and the food is decent but unfortunately the inhabitants and employees all tend to think that cheating guests is perfectly okay.<br/>We were greeted at the resort by a sleazy salesman who did his best to convince us we needed to go thru his timeshare sales pitch as a condition of our stay at the resort. Then, on our third day a group of con artists trying to give us trinkets was allowed in the resort courtyard. <br/>Booked a horseback riding excursion via the resort and had to file via my credit card company to get a refund after my wife was injured 10-minutes into a 1.5 hour ride by two other riders horses getting into a fight while all the guides were distracted taking photos to sell us all later.<br/>The top shelf liquor was laughable and watered down. <br/>Find another place like Sandals.

Was here for a wedding and this resort lived up to my expectations. I have stayed at another family resort (dreams) down the road not too far and it was similar in many ways. Service and staff were pretty good the bartenders though I felt could have been more friendly at the lobby bar and pool. The lobby bar was the nicest one I have seen at any of the resorts I ve ever been too and also was very impressed with the casino which had newer slot machines and 4-5 table games also a good bar inside . The sports bar was filled with plenty of TVs a good size bar pool table and other games to occupy people of all ages. The night club played good music and had strong drinks. Even at its busiest times you never had to wait long for a drink it was well staffed. The staff that worked the wedding were incredible and the best I ve had anywhere either at home or abroad for a wedding. The room I stayed in was modern with clean amenities and tiled bathroom but drain was half apart in the shower and would come off the tile if you stepped on it . Clean large beach with volleyball , soccer nets and plenty of shaded chairs. I was disappointed that the one night I had for a sit down dinner the restaurant I wanted was closed without notice and was told when I asked why they said sometimes they rotate which I understand but they didn t have exact dates when it would be open or not open. The buffet was decent quality of food was good was hoping for more fresh sea food.

Would need some renovation. Access to the beach section and pools of the "Prefered Club" is accessible to all as there is very little supervision. The restaurants are ordinary. Resort disappointing.

we up graded our room and here,s what we got light,s not working air conditioner took 2 days to get it working properly the jaccusi sprayed the cealing had to get maintenance staff to fix tv turned on by itself and light switches in bathroom sparked sometimes ... that was our upgrade otherwise room was ok

An awesome all-exculsive resort. 24 hour room service (free), my room came with a mini bar filled with sodas, waters, and beers ( restocked daily), a spa-like bathroom complete with a Jacuzzi. You also get your own personal wifi router in your room. Will definitely be staying again

Beautiful experience, excellent structure very well maintained and managed. large, clean rooms, with terrace overlooking the sea or pool. Excellent restaurants with the possibility of self-service and a la carte. Well equipped white beach, large and clean pool, all surrounded by beautiful palm trees. The all-inclusive formula in my opinion is more than enough, but there is the possibility of buying a VIP card on-site which has some discounts on VIP beaches, a swimming pool and a small restaurant.

This is a nice place to stay but it would definitely have been nicer to stay in the main area of the resort. The walk back and forth wasn't long (there is also a cart) but it can be annoying because you have to pack everything if you want to go to the beach for the day as it takes time to get back. It was nice the days that we stayed at the Garden because the pool is much quieter and it is easy to get drinks and food. The breakfast buffet was always good and quiet compared to the main buffet. The restaurant at night was very good as well and the service was enjoyable.

I will never ever come back to this place. I ve been to so many resorts in punta Cana and this one has no comparison in horrible service. The employees apparently make a commission on time shares so they re main goal is to trick you into special discounts if you do this or that. You get 100 dollars off the spa if you make reservations to eat at the resort next door Called the secret , yet you get escorted there by a times shares sales person that actually has breakfast with you trying to gather information on your past vacations and how much you ve spent. Then they walk you back to your resort to sign you out and they get a pushy salesman with a suit and tie. I didn t get to hear the rest because when I saw the sales guy, I got up and said oh hell no! I m not doing this!, I came to enjoy a few days getaway! And I walked out on them. We also upgraded to preferred club which gives you access to a private quiet pool, it turns out there s nobody there watching so while I was trying to read a book, everybody and their mother were cutting through that pool using it as a shortcut to get to the public pool. And add to that 10 kids screaming in the preferred members area jacuzzi. Oh, and the members only pool Is so close to the non member that when they blast the music, you hear it when you re trying to have quiet time to read. The Butler was nice though, but too busy to be your butler as well. If you want a relaxed getaway, avoid this place!

Rooms bathrooms have issues... Toilets flush for minutes and ceilings leak.

Snorkeling excursion to sanao Island had no snorkeling but you spend 5 hours on a bus.

We stayed at the NOW LARIMAR from Jan.31-Feb.7/2019. The only reason I am writing my review now is because I was waiting for someone from this hotel to address my concerns after we got back. Unfortunately I have yet to receive a response from any one from this resort so here is my utter honest review!
We were visiting with our wedding party of 56 people. I am so embarassed that our guests had to stay at this nasty resort. The AM property management should be ashamed of themselves for calling this a five start resort.
SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO ELSE WHERE! THIS IS THE WORST RESORT YOU CAN POSSIBLY GO TO IF YOU HAVE HIGH STANDARDS.
I am so angry that we all paid so much money and were under the impression that we will be staying at 5 star resort, at most this would be considered a 3.5 star! This is false advertising!

I have listed all the things that were wrong below:
-multiple COCKROACHES found at the buffet...imagine dirty cockroaches moving along the food that you are about to consume! (this is basic cleanliness)
- staples found in our food ordered from room service
- entire toilet bowl/ seat was lose in my sisters room to the point that she fell off the bowl
- a booger wall found in another guests room (entire wall had dried up boogers on it)
- they tried to scam one of our guests and charge them $666 USD for an upgrade when the guest just requested a cleaner room they checked in to
-they over booked the resort so they ended up separating our entire party between two resorts SECRETS and NOW LARIMAR ( the secrets is a bit better but their food is just as bad)
-CATHELIN BETANCES (event coordinator) is very much incompetent. She should be working at a motel as her services are not at a 5-star standard. I was in correspondence with her for our private dinner...she sent me copies of the menu that will be served and what I agreed upon. NONE of the food from the menu was served!
-COMPLETE SCAM-- they charged us $2000 USD for a private dinner, none of the food they had promised were made specially for us (as we were promised a BBQ menu) all the food were taken from the buffet in a stew like form, NO BBQed food...CATHELIN told us in advance they do not have speakers at the Castaway restaurant and when we got there we saw speakers at every corner of the restaurant and we asked them to turn up the volume of the music they had on..which one of their waiters did so, but the event coordinator assistant YANCELY VAZQUEZ advised him to turn it back down as we did not pay for music...prior to the event I had asked them if they had speakers at this location and they said they do not and we need to pay for dj separately which was a BLATANT LIE. A complete money grab...very tasteless and cheap!
-YANCELY VAZQUEZ was extremely rude when I asked her why they did not announce when the food is going to be served to our guests...none of our guests were aware that food was being served. When asked why she replied "that is not my responsibility!"...I am not too sure what would be considered a coordinators responsibility if not that...just horrible.
-the staff were not helpful at all especially at our welcome dinner!
-poor food quality
-produce at the buffet was OLD and it seemed as though it was sitting out from the night before ( cucumbers and tomatoes were wilting)
-THEY ADVERTISE A PREMIUM BAR through agents and on their website....this is a LIE...they had the cheapest/ nastiest liquor! just to put things in perspective they consider Stolichnaya premium...all of their liquor was low end
-everyone in our party had an upset stomach the entire week.
-so much algae on the beach and broken glass bottles in the water...this is obviously something out of the resort hands but they made no effort to keep anything under control... (in mexico at all 5 star resorts they have a beach crew cleaning and maintaining the beach at all times).

All in all..the worst experience ever! I will never return to any of their resorts managed by this group, this also goes for our entire wedding party of 56!

The food is excellent although you have to travel to Larimar for several dining choices. More active life at this hotel. We are proud to come back to the Garden to find peace.

My husband and I traveled to the Now Larimar along with 40 of our friends and family members for our wedding at the end of July. The check in process was quick and the staff made sure to show you the dinning areas to eat while you waited for your room to be ready as we were a little early. The main carnival Buffett was good. What was even better was the wait staff, Wilkin in particular. He made sure he had enough chairs at the table for any # of guests we needed. There were many options at the buffet as well. Our room was clean and very open and up to date. We had an ocean view room which was great. People complain that the ocean view isn't a walk out onto the beach view, but you still have a gorgeous view. Our butler that was assigned to us as we were upgraded for free to preferred club was Miguel. He literally went above and beyond for us all week. Oddly enough I felt he was so genuine and truly cared about making our experience a great one. He was one of my favorite people at the resort! Our mini fridge was fully stocked with whatever alcohol we wanted and plenty of bottled water. The main pool was huge and we were so blessed to be fortunate enough to have Daniella as our pool server. She remembered our group every day and what we drank! She even went as far as putting towels on our pool chairs to save our spot at the pool in the mornings! The swim up bar bartenders were not fast and not very good. If we were not upgraded to preferred club I would not have paid for it but it was a nice bonus while we were there. The beach was nice however had seaweed all over. The staff was working tirelessly trying to keep it contained and cleaned up, which was appreciated. As for planning a destination wedding at this resort... all I have to say is WOW. Francina Rodriguez was my wedding coordinator. This woman made sure every detail and request was met. I mean blew my expectations out of the water. I praise her and her talent so much that I plan on writing to upper management about how incredible she was! I would definitely visit this resort again and hope Togo back soon! A lot of the negative and poor reviews on this resort are made from people who don't want to pay much but have extremely high unrealistic expectations. We loved the Now Larimar!!!!

Salmonella & E. Coli after our Wedding Trip

We attended the Now Larimar resort for our March 2017 Wedding Ceremony, which we brought 30+ guests. We were excited to arrive to this resort but needless to say we left with a different view of the resort. Let me explain further.

1. Upon arrival to resort many of our guests had their rooms not ready and were forced to wait hours without a room.

2. We arrived to the resort with the assumption that we had everything setup for our wedding ceremony, that we would just relax and get married. NOT the case. After our initial visit to the wedding planners they wanted us to pay in excess of $1000 for our wedding ceremony that we were told prior to arrival would be free due to the amount of guests we brought. After much battle with the coordinator the manager finally intervened, and told us they would need to contact our travel agency. So we left for the next few days concerned we had this added expense prior to our wedding.. Nothing like stressing out the Bride & Groom prior to their wedding day right? Well to our surprise, they did get things figured out, thankfully.

3. This is the worst part of the trip, out of our 30 guests that went 7 of them came back to the US with extreme stomach pain and diarrhea. 2 of the guests including myself were diagnosed with E. Coli after the medical facilities ran stool samples & lab tests. I came back positive for E. Coli & Salmonella. Let me tell you, this is a horrible pain and I wish it upon no one. After the fact our travel agent reached back out to the resort to advise them of the issue, the GM of the resort Domenico Cacace responded back trying to pass the buck onto someone else. Claiming that in no way this sickness came from the resort. Well I'd like to clarify it so, he knows it did exactly come from the resort.

1. 7 Guests came back sick
2. 2 Guests confirmed of lab tests containing bacteria.
3. The 7 guests, returned back to the us on different departure dates but became sick within 1-2 days of return.
4. The 7 guests all live in different locations in the US, and took different airlines.
5. 1 Guest confirmed with E. Coli is battling cancer and never left the resort.
6. The remaining 6 guests DID NOT attend the same excursions together containing any food.
7. The 7 guests did however all attend evening planned group dinners on the resort.

So from these facts, I think it's clear to say that the culprit for the sickness is directly correlated to the NOW Larimar resort. Instead of taking the responsibility they immediately jump to blaming other people.

A little advise, if you attend this resort:
- DO NOT Eat any uncovered food that may be undercooked. Most importantly in the premier lounges.
- Make sure that any fruit you eat is being cut by employees in front of you, and they are wearing proper gloves.

An experience that should be a memorable one, definitely become one in the wrong reasons. 2 days away from work, and multiple medical bills later after arriving back is something I'll never forget. Thanks again NOW Larimar for making my wedding so memorable. NOT.

While the resort is nice and the staff are friendly and helpful, managnent leaves a lot to be desired. They price themselves as a good value All Inclusive... But it is not all inclusive (certain restaurants and pools and bars are Exclusive) More

Went to the beach section to get a day pass, was talked to only in spanish and mocked bc i only spoke english and they didn t understand day pass . Finally someone translated for us and they forced us to go around on the main street instead of simply guiding us through to reception to purchase our passes. We get to the main street and they sent us in the wrong direction. Had to walk mile+ back and didn t get the day pass. Also tried to bribe us $5 and they d walk us through the back. So unprofessional.

Very good services, fabulous scenery, very big resort, dream pool, numerous staff and very attentive, friendly. Impeccable cleanliness, the maid enters the room twice a day, very good food.
But I recommend rooms with sea or pool views, not garden views.

I was supposed to stay at this hotel. 3 days before my stay I was moved to another hotel which was a bit of a downgrade in terms of amenities and offerings and Preferred Class upgrade. Traveling with kids, we could only use some of the amenities. Rooms were much smaller. After 2 weeks of telling me their renovations were small, they decided to close the resort altogether for 3 months.

Great hotel, good food, most of the staff very friendly, especially Martires in the beach bar and Jorge in the main restaurant.

This is a beautiful place to visit. The people are nice and friendly and the service is second to none. Have fun if you plan to visit.

This place had spectacular views from our room. This place is very clean with beautiful plants and flowers everywhere. The staff is super friendly and always makes you feel welcome... like family. The butler named Rafael took care of everything including flowers and turn down service. Fresh fruit chocolate cover strawberries. Help with a quick check out. Lots of entertainment. Casino was disappointing. Staff wasnt very friendly. Didnt make you want to stay long.Overall very good time.

Great resort. Food was good. Entertainment was good. Staff are very friendly. Rooms are nice and price reasonable. Only complaint is that they run out of towels frequently.

The treatment is great, we have really enjoyed the activities of the hotel, the best restaurant that I found was the Italian, their staff is very attentive and they have a very good treatment.
The other restaurants are also very good, my drawback is that in French, my partner was not allowed to pass because he was not wearing long pants, after the money we have left in the hotel I do not think it is right that they demand that and on top of that you have to go To have dinner somewhere else, not even in Paris they demand that of you, besides that it is summer and the least you pack is long pants.
We took the excursions with a hotel worker and they are not as cool as they are painted.
Otherwise everything very well.

I stayed here for my birthday! The hotel is decorated nicely but it has a mold & mildew smell! We changed rooms several times & had to request that my room be decorated for my birthday after telling them more than once ! The view from our room showed ano water view no beach view & we we're in the proffered club what a joke! The food was terrible! The cheese was molded at the buffet & instead of writing a review on the hotel we decided to take a our complaint to the hotel their rebuttle was that I posted pictures on my Facebook page so I had to be satisfied! This hotel is not African American friendly they did not play any of our music unless we requested it over & over again ! The pool outside n beach was great but the hotel wasn't! The sheets was moist n we requested sheets every night! We expressed our concerns & the hotel rebuttle was we have 80% humidity when we requested a humidifier they only had 3 & they we're already in use! One of my cousins that was staying In another room had to change rooms due to their sink falling off the wall! Lastly when I got home my luggage & clothes all smelled t like the Now Larimar hotel I had to throw a brand new luggage out & wash all my clothes. I definitely will not be staying at any Now Larimar resorts again.

This resort was next to Secrets and my wife and I visit it several times and found it was fantastic for a family. Entertainment, food and service were excellent.
