My family booked 3 rooms for 6 nights. It has its good parts but overall was a disappointing experience. The biggest issue was theft. One night I came back to the maid actively trying to steal my wallet. Another night one of the members of our party had money go missing from her wallet. Check was at 3. Our rooms weren't ready until almost 4. We attempted to get a reservation via one of the butlers. The reservation somehow never got placed. No word on it at all. We had a birthday and got a cake, name was spelled wrong after confirming twice that he had spelled it correctly and after it was written down for him. Overall very poor experience that will keep me from returning or recommending to others.

The resort is very pretty and relaxing. The staff is attentive, friendly and very polite. All the staff members know several languages. The food is delicious, you have many choices. The entertainment and atomsphere is great. The only turn off is they try to sell you time share and they are very persistent about it. Other than that a great place!

This is a review of Now Garden, and a partial revi...

This is a review of Now Garden, and a partial review of Now Larimar. My wife and I were there in late January of 2018.

We arrived at the Now Garden lobby at around 1pm on a Thursday. At the check-in desk, we were asked to sign couple documents. Just read over those before you sign. We were also asked if we would be interested to upgrade to become Preferred Club members, which get access to members only areas and amenities. We politely declined as it wasn t in our plan.

After the check-in desk, we were introduced to a staff member named Nirva. Nirva s a very nice lady, and she was there to help us with our needs during our stay at the resort. Check in time at the resort was 3pm (i.e. room wasn t ready till 3pm). So, Nirva led us to have lunch at the restaurant instead.

Restaurant s name is called Windows . It offers buffet breakfast from 7:00am to 11:00am, and a la cart lunch from 12:30pm to 3:00pm daily. I had wings as the appetizer, and carbonara as the main course. They were good, especially when I was famished at the time. Later I learned that the restaurant is called Windows for breakfast and lunch, and is called Capers (Italian cuisine) in the evening from 6:00pm to 10:45pm. It has seats both outdoor (roofed) and indoor. This is the only eating location of Now Garden (other than the food hut by the pool bar). We really liked the Italian cuisine. Pizza and calzone are made with brick oven. They are must-tries.

While we were having lunch, our phones picked up free wifi offered by the resort. Speaking of wifi, both Now Garden and Now Larimar have free wifi pretty much anywhere within the complex. Wifi speed was fast too. I didn t test the speed, but it was more than sufficient for regular browsing and messaging. Signal was weak at the beach though. However, wifi is not password protected. So, I would encourage the use of a VPN service to protect yourself. We have Opera VPN app installed on our phones. It s free and can be downloaded from Google Play.

At 3pm, we were led to our room by another staff who helped us with our luggage. Our room was in Building 7. Room was very clean. Pretty much dustless. Washroom and shower room were sanitized with bleach. Light fixtures were a bit worn-out though, but not a big deal to us. Inside the closet there was an electronic safe deposit box (free of charge). Hotel would reimburse you up to $3500 USD if things you have placed inside the safe are stolen. There were also a hair-dryer, iron, and iron board inside the closet. There was a router for each room. You can log on to your room s router instead of the common one. I found 3 power outlets in our room. 1 by the sink, 1 under the TV, and 1 by the bed. The one under the TV was partially blocked by the desk, and couldn t be used. Therefore, I recommend bringing your own powerbar if you have multiple devices to charge at once. The mini-fridge had 3 cans of beer, Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite, Fanta, Club Soda, and bottled water. It was supposed to be refilled each day. However, refilling had been hit-and-miss during our stay. Housekeeping staff also came in each day to make our bed, replace towels, and replenish supplies. By the way, the building has an elevator, and the hallway was very well maintained and also well-lit in the evening. Overall, we were really happy with our room and the building.

After getting our room, we took a walk around the Now Garden Resort. We were impressed by how well maintained the ground and the pool were. There s a swim-up bar. The bartenders were fun and awesome. We spent several of our days relaxing by the pool, and tried many of their drinks. Behind the bar there is a public washroom. A girl was there the whole time to keep it very clean. Please continue to my Now Larimar review......

It was my first experience at a resort in Punta Cana, but I felt like it was a positive experience. My fiancee and I stayed a week, the grounds were beautiful and well kept. The beach wasn't far of a walk, also well kept. Any issues we ran into, the staff worked to resolve pretty quickly. We tried all the restaurants, no complaints, the buffet in the center was always clean and the food was good. I think we got more than what we paid for.

Must be the water but nearly our entire wedding crew of 30 people were ill with diarrhea or vomiting a few days into the trip. The food at the French restaurant was great but the service was slow everywhere on the resort and the food was mediocre elsewhere. Really nice sand with minimal sand fleas but lots of seaweed on the beach. Too many motor boats in the area for an enjoyable ocean swim.

It was a great experience for me and my husband in our honeymoon! but this place is perfect for a family with kids! They should advertise if correctly by sayigis for family and kids! not for two couples! Another thing, if you are Dominican and you were born in the USA like me and you have a husband outside of your culture non Spanish speaker is better to speak in English because a lot of staff go overboard and doesn't have no boundaries! the men over there are like hounds they don't care if you are with your husband! but overall my husband and I had great fun! food drink and event was cool.

Great service. Lovely weather and fine sand beach. Food is ok. Beach is packed. Shade is coveted. Comfortable chairs are reserved for the preferred club and special members
Rooms are comfortable. Bathrooms could be cleaner. Gardens are lovely. Entertainment is cute, with the occassional real talent. Lots of activities are available if you want them. The pool area is standard nice but open only from 8-6 so no early morning or evening swimming.
I would not choose this hotel again but my vacation was quite nice for the price....about $1500 for a week including airfare from Toronto

4.3 stars. First trip with the entire family out the country and third to DR. My family and I felt completely safe. Our girls had a great time at their first all Inclusive. Grounds were nice. Food was pretty good for a family resort. We usually stay at couples only, and at a 5 star, in Cap Cana. People are nice and entertainment staff was great! Water beautiful. They miss it greatly. And we booked in February.

Luxury and relaxation. The resort is more along the linea of honeymooners and quiet seekers, rather than partying. But still an excellent overall experience from facilities and entertainment, to all the restaurants

Somewhat disappointed, not much understanding on the part of the service (no or few words in French and we don't care if you don't understand English!), Scam on arrival for upgraded rooms we ask for 600 euros more, because according to them the Garden is looooin (5 minutes in slow walking not enough to die either ...)
The food is good but the drink service very slow ... I have eaten many times without having anything other than water!
In the other a la carte restaurants they offer chargeable things like wine without telling you and you figure it out on your room bill .....
In short.
Too bad because the hotel itself is clean and well located but the service leaves something to be desired.

The resort is very nice and big, with many amenities. There is place to improvement though. For example, the bathtub on the balcony is dirty of paint. Although is tidy, I don't feel is clean in the room. The employees are not sincerely happy to serve and they are too many! Men-employees are very very lazy and unprofessional, they only want the time to pass on and get tips just for smiling
The food is good. A la carte restaurants are opened from time to time and have the same menu every night.

Really wonderful. My experience in this place was amazing and well known many hotels But this one has a different touch. His staff is incredible and highly trained. especially a wonderful young woman I met called (yancely). An educated person. Very friendly. And above all, it is worth highlighting their professionalism. I recommend this place 100%. If you are looking for this young woman, she will make your stay a unique experience. I hope to return soon continue like this.

Were here in 2016 from May 20 to June 3, my honeymoon was celebrated with my husband. This is a great hotel, we hope to come back here. The food was so tasty and varied in the main restaurant that we went only 2 times to a la carte restaurants. It was a paradise for my stomach. Freshly squeezed juices from pineapple, mango and other fruits were just bombing (even there were different detox fresh fruits). A variety of delicious jamons and complemented this happiness with various types of cheeses with nuts, grapes and honey. Probably all 12 days I ate pineapples with mangoes, their juices, ham and cheese, rolls. We also liked the animation very much, there were interesting programs - Olympic games, cooking paella on a campfire on the beach, auctions and much more.
The only negative is every morning at 4.00 I was awakened by a crowing cock from the neighboring territory, our room was in the building on the left, so I advise you to take it from the other side.
I highly recommend an excursion to the mini Coopers in Altos de Chavon and visit the island of Saona.

Everything was great, but we wanted to make a late check out and they said we could pay until 4pm. Today they say the late chek out is not possible and they told us that the normal chek out is at 1pm and they told us to stay until 2pm and not pay for it. :( :( :(

I just got home yesterday. I have been on at least ten international all inclusive vacations. This was the only one I did not like. I am going to add a list of all the cons about this trip so you can really understand what you are getting into. However I WOULD NEVER COME BACK and DO NOT RECCOMEND this hotel . Do not let the good reviews fool you as I believe the people were bribed by the staff to post a good review:
Cons:
*Roaches in room
*Rude staff (I m a huge tipper too) one guy called me lazy because he was persistent we join the Zumba class one guy literally stuck his tongue at me one guy pulled my moms chair to try to get her to get up to join his yoga class. Our private concierge let himself in our room one day as we were there. This one girl was so nasty she just looked me up and down and sucked her teeth when we asked to be seated. The service was awful.
There were maybe three people that were actually pleasant on the entire resort.
* beach had MOUNTAINS of seaweed. I love the ocean and I couldn t even go in. It was awful as I do not believe they invested in a well working seaweed removal method yet. I ve been to Aruba after hurricane season so I know what a little seaweed is but this actually prevented you from going in the ocean and making the pools very crowded during weekend. They had one truck trying to remove the seaweed but he literally was just driving over it not even making a dent
*food is AWFUL . Stick w the buffet only minimal safe items like rice and potatoes . Be very afraid of food poisoning here
* if you are lost do not ask the staff for directions to the pool or the coffee shop as they will not be of much help and will almost every time send you in a mile wrong direction
* room was gross. The couch looked diseased. I sceeved the bed. It was hard to sleep because of how gross you feel

My sister, my mother and I were able to even make this shady hotel a good time because we are fun ourselves but if you are even considering this hotel please don t. We have been to dreams and Bavaro princess and both were around the same price and a trillion times better than this place. Please do not spend your hard earned money here

This unusual place deserves an exhaustive, detailed explanation that I will give later when I have had the experience in Secrets that I was promised to compensate for the countless inconveniences in the service we suffered during our stay here.

Stood there 8/8/16-8/18 Extremely polite and helpful staff. Resort is very nice and clean all around. Not too overly huge like other resorts I've been to making it easy to get around. Manager Bernabel Taveras was always available and attentive to our needs. I will definitely come back again.

EXCELLENT is the word that defines them.

EXCELLENT is the word that defines them.
I would like to add that the personalized attention of the butlers is a PLUS that makes a difference, above all I must thank and congratulate WARNES for the attention received.
On the beach, the care of collecting the algae, respecting the environment is noticeable and appreciated by the guests.
In restaurants, Italian cuisine and Spanish and Italian wines are a MUST.

Just got back and I cannot praise this place enough! The staff, rooms, pools and food were all great! Entertainment staff Black Panda and Cappucino are amazing and the bartender Henry at the bar by the pool ( The Mix) remembered my name and drink by day 2! The buffet changed their dinner selections every night and if you didn t like that you can skip to the a la cartes as you only need a reservation for the japanese. Italian was my fav! Coffee shop was a plus! Whole experience was just excelente! N I will definitely be back!

** only thing I would have loved is for them to be more proactive on cleaning the seaweed from the beach!

Just returned from Now Larimar and need a vacation...

Just returned from Now Larimar and need a vacation to recover from our horrendous over all experience. The hotel managed to make an already rough last day even worse and basically wiped out all the de-stressing that happened. To start let me mention that i was part of a wedding group that consisted of about 45 people most of witch at this point are steaming mad and have stated they will never return, most of the steaming mad part comes from the handling of our last day at the resort but i state what we dealt with throughout the entire week do to space limits on reviews and only touch on last day.

We had multiple issues over the week with several members not getting rooms cleaned on several days and even when cleaned sheets were not always changed. there were issues with towels not being replace several rooms had AC that was barely working to the point of rooms being damp all the time and mold growing on the incense sticks by weeks end also i had completely broken AC do to a burst pipe one night, several issues with mini bars not being restocked or not properly restocked i.e. only the water being replaces if at all.
I personally had to restock my water 2 days in a row, after the first day i spoke to the Preferred Club rep and she personally guaranteed the next day it would be fix guess what it wasn't... no restock. I then went down again and spoke to the same girl who apologised and pointed to her book showing where she logged the issue and insisted it would not happen again... guess what it did so on the 3rd time she made arrangements for it to be dealt with right then and promised something special in our room that night. Guess what we got ... NOTHING!... no fruit basket, no wine/champagne, no chocolates on a pillow absolutely nothing more than an empty promises.

this place is also a pressure sales environment try and avoid the main lobby at all cost and don't fall for the gold key coupon scam. is a sales pitch for the vacation club. hell we were harassed by beach vendors and excursion people daily and even vendors at one nights entertainment.

Service at the pool bars was sketchy at best with my wife and several of our party waiting up to an hour for the server to come back around with our drinks on several occasions .. typically we would just go up ourselves to avoid the delays .. now as for drinks ... no consistency at all for the most part you never could get the same drink made the same twice unless you got the same bartender.

Food though I will say was the only shining spot of the entire trip .. normally it was all great from the beach food to the restaurants... with that said the only issue here is they "nearly killed" one party member who had a nut allergy. He had to go to the hospital over the situation ($3500 total cost.. get trip insurance peeps). apparently they have a card that he should have received at check in to give to the restaurant so be sure to ask for it if you need it.

Now, our last day of hell.
So travel company canceling our flights without notice this issue was not caused by the resort at all but started at 7:30 am and lasted till 11:30 am when a rep showed up and i pushed for a fix... that fix was arranging for the added day at the resort do to the delay of 1 day for the flights. Here's where the resorts bumbling started. Sunwing rep says all good just go chill by the pool we on the other hand did not trust the info so proceeded to go to the lobby to speak to the Preferred Rep and they said it wasn't all good... they were still clearing details with sunwing and that we could all or in part be moved to a different resort so we asked how long to know? 30 min, unfortunately that 30min turned into 6+ hours of not knowing where we were going to sleep and constantly having to check back if he had rooms. by the end it took till 6pm for the last room to be issued and that's after several confirmed clean rooms *pics* not being clean and several people having to make more then one move to find a room that was clean. i left a lot out do to review space here fyi. so my end point AVOID

Nice hotel with great service especially in the buffet restaurant and beach bar. Everything is nice and clean. Unfortunately, the condition of the beach chairs (goods 3 years ago already here) badly deteriorated. Is not worthy for a 5 star hotel. The food has improved.

I come for work occasionally. I had a problem with my key and it was an odyssey. 2 calls to reception saying they were sent to security and never came. It was a housekeeping sra who opened me and asked for identification to prove it was what I claimed to be. Reception and security a disaster. Improve communication. Juana Ortiz a professional. It deserves a promotion for being decisive!

Honestly the resort is nice, entertainment was excelent and resteraunts are a nice touch for an evening activity. The only reason for the three star review is the pushy sales people that swarm you every time you walk by trying to make you go to a sales pitch to take up half your day. They do not take "no" for an answer, they will walk with you and keep talking even if they make you late for prior engagement. They will not shut up long enough to hear you say you are not interested. "If I wanted a bottle of rum or a beach bag I would buy one not go to a time share presentatation!" The drinks were made inconsistent just about every time you order, not that big of deal because I drank mostly beer but if you want a Manhattan be prepared for a glass of mamajuana even though that drink is on the drink list "I'm pretty sure a few mojitos I received were also made with tequila instead of rum"

If you are by the pool you will be aprached by excursion sales people constantly "they are not as pushy as the time share sales people in the front lobby and entertainment area but do get a little annoying after about 30 or so sales pitches and do seem irritated when you say no. They have a brochure and a booth if I wanted an excursion I would go to the booth and ask for additional information or purchase a trip.

The rooms are OK, they do have a slight mould smell but the bed was excelent to sleep on and our AC worked well. Our tropical view looked at a row of palm trees with a large building behind it resembling a parking garage, I would probably call it a room with a patio to avoid confusion, if we wanted to look over the grounds we were told it was an additional $40 US a night. We did not plan to spend much time in there so we did not opt for that and by the end of the trip were fine with that decision. We ran into a few times when our sliding patio door was left unlocked after cleaning I'm not sure what that was about because we were on the ground floor so anyone could have walked in.

All in all I would probably go back to the resort. the nightly entertainment was excelent "they have the hardest working entertainment team I have ever seen", the resort staff were friendly and helpful and the grounds were well manicured with little to no bugs. If they get control over the pushy sales people the resort would be 4-4.5 stars but because of my time the sales teams wasted while I was there not listening when I clearly said I was not interested and the areas we had to avoid so we were not pitched again and again just to say no 20 times they get a 3-3.5.

We had such a great stay! The staff was incredible. We brought our 3 year old boys and everyone single person went out of their way to make them feel special. I love that you don't have to make a reservation for the nightly restaurants. We didn't experience any wait times. The property is small enough that walking to the beach is easy. I gave the hotel 4 stars bc the rooms need renovation and some of the common areas look worn; however, the staff members make up for it. Good work Now Larimar!

When we arrived there was an error because the lady thought we purchased a preferred club package and brought us to the preferred lounge to check in. They realized they had our names mixed up with another couple but then tried to up sell us to the preferred package twice and the second individual even tried to get us to upgrade to a suite for $250 more a night. Then they finally gave us our room keys and we went to our room. The room was a little less than expected as the furniture looked dirty and worn but I whipped them down and it looked like it was paint specks that wouldn t come off. The fridge wasn t cold and the security box wasn t working so we had to call to have them serviced. It took a few hours for the technician to get to our room while we waited. Some days we had everything from the cleaning staff replenished and some days facecloths were missing. They weren t always as clean as they should have been either as we found a hair on one of the clean facecloths.

We left the room and went to check out the rest of the resort. Before we could even get our feet in the ocean we were stopped by a SeaPro salesman. This continued throughout the pool area as we were trying to relax. We went to the buffet for lunch after we walked around a little. We were a little disappointed by the food there but it was our first time and we went towards the end of the lunch shift. We went back to the lobby after lunch to see AmStar but before we could get to them another hotel staff tried to get us to go to an appointment the following morning to learn about other Now Resorts. The amount of Salesman trying to get us to spend more money all around the hotel was way too much. AmStar was great to work with and helped us with all of our excursions. We went to Capers for dinner which was one of the better restaurants.

Sunday we spent the morning at the pool, it was very hard to find even one chair to put our stuff on as many people reserved chairs. The pool waitress seemed a little over whelmed with the amount of people she had to serve and made her rounds around the pool but sometimes it took a little longer than expected to get a drink. The paper cups were a little outrageous, if you are trying to be able to recycle just use the reusable plastic cups I saw. Sometimes we would get paper and by the end of our stay we got the reusable plastic cups. We headed down to the beach for the other half of the day again bothered by salesman but the beach was very clean and beautiful.

We were shocked how Americanized all the food was and were disappointed there wasn t one Dominican Restaurant at the hotel. We did go to the Carnival buffet for Dominican night and it was very good. We also went to the buffet for breakfast most mornings and Heldin Modesto was great and joked with us, the cook Monolo who made our omelets was great as well. We were not able to get a reservation to Spice even when we talked to concierge the day after we arrived and they were booked through the week except for a 9pm or 10pm which was too late for us. Mercure s lobster was great and the staff were exceptional . Tamarindo was good but also very Americanized with Nacho cheese, Juan Carlos was an exceptional waiter there. The Blue Water Grill had terrible burgers as they were very dry and tasteless. The Barefoot grill was convenient for lunch.

Since it was going to rain on Friday, we planned a spa day after breakfast. The staff were great but the steam room could have been cleaner.

Overall we did have a great time in Punta Cana but some things could have been better. We stayed at the Secrets in Cancun and it was a completely different experience. I don t believe they had a Preferred Club there and it was much better. We probably should have just stayed at the Secrets in Punta Cana but it was a little pricier. We also didn t realize how many kids would be at the pool/resort. I almost got hit in the face with a football at the pool by a couple of kids playing catch. We will most likely stay at a Secrets Resort or adult only resort in the future.
