Excellent Communication and Very Professional. This is not my usual place to get my car serviced because of where I live. I previously had an experience where I took in my tires to get patched, got them fixed but all my tires were under filled. I then learned that the weekend crew is the B team and if I needed quality work done I should come in during the week. Came in on a Monday to get my car serviced for a engine light. They were able to fix in the time they said it would get fixed and I had my car back the next morning.

This dealership is awesome! I decided to make the change to an electric car due to the affect climate change is having on the planet. However, there was one issue. I was still under a lease contract with another dealership. But that was no problem for Bob Baker Hyundai. Amy and the rest of the staff there did their very best to get me a good deal even though I was upside down on my lease. Amy did her magic and I left with a brand new 2019 Hyundai Ioniq electric lease and it is amazing. I can't express how grateful I am. I still can't beleive it. If you need a car, especially an affordable electric car, i highly recommend Bob Baker. We will defintely be coming back as i hope to make my entire family make the transition to electric. Thanks again Hyundai.

Tried to make an appt for service and at 2pm on a Wednesday, I don t see why- i for the 2nd attempt- i need to wait to make an appointment for over 15 minutes. The girl that helped was very short and uninterested in helping me. Warranty or not- loaner vehicles should be available on a first come first serve basis to paying clients...especially if you re new to the dealership service, their service department is not open in weekends and most likely i d have have to pay for renting the vehicle. How else do they expect to entice clients to purchase a newer model etc...overall experience was not good.

After we perched this a Hyundai That had 4000 miles on it. My girlfriend pointed out there was some chips that need to be addressed. After messing with us for over 2 weeks. And us already finance in the car and putting a down payment down. I recommend to stay away from Bob Baker they're crooks

Drove all the way from 4s ranch to Carlsbad because of great service and care we receive. Its not cheap its the dealer ship never is but you know its done rite. You get a free car wash and on your 5 visit I believe its free oil change. But if you know how and have the time do it yourself save lots of money and its fun working on your own ride

I bought my 2017 Hyundai Elantra with North County...

I bought my 2017 Hyundai Elantra with North County Hyundai before Bob Baker Hyundai bought the business. When I bought my car, I bought and included a lifetime warranty for window tint. After i year, I started having problems with the tint (peeling off) and brought my car back to Bob Baker Hyundai for service. i was told by the service manager (female) who was very rude that she could not honor the warranty since I bought it from North County Hyundai. To keep it short, this dealership is not for me for my future buying of vehicles. I will not recommend this place to my families, friends and especially military personnel; active, veterans and retirees and DOD personnel.

Some aspects feel craaappy like buying any car. Other aspects were okay, but mostly it suucked. Just a pain. This was the least pain in the azz place I found, but still left a sour taste in my mouth.

When I had a problem, it felt like that old trick shell game. Where's the ball? I never knew. That was the point.

I get lots of compliments on my car and make sure to tell them NOT to go here for that reason.

Update:

They did not process my trade in paperwork at all. So, the DMV thinks my insurance lapsed. They also filed some fishy stuff on my trade in paperwork, or attempted to and didn't finish it, and it's in a weird status.

I'm really PO'ed about everything. God knows I would get nowhere trying to deal with them. I'm working with the DMV to straighten it out. YES, THE DMV HAS BEEN EASIER TO DEAL WITH THAN THESE JOKERS!

These guys screwed up every single aspect of my sale. I would NEVER recommend this place under any circumstances. They are complete clowns. In fact I probably will not buy another Hyundai after this either, it's been such a horrible experience.

Best experience I've ever had in 50 yrs. Emanuel Rodrigues at Carlsbad location is the most impressive salesperson I've ever encountered in a car dealership. He answered question clearly and concisely and was respectful of my concerns. I am very happy with my Hyundai Kona!

The sales department can handle selling you a car, but the service department is grossly inadequate to handle the sales, or the after sales service.
Typically the service department is booked 1 or more weeks out, so if you have issues it will take at least a couple of weeks before they can even look at the problem.

They'll reply to this review like they care. But we all know there will be no follow through.

They sell used certified cars that have been in accidents and without all the keys.

They promised is someone would come to us to bring us a new key. But as soon as we drove off the lot, they decided they would not uphold there promise and not being us the second key

There is no reason to ever sell a car without both keys.

Yesterday I went into Bob Baker Hyundai and was helped by Tom Cunningham in Carlsbad. Tom was seriously AMAZING and I recommend him to anyone who is looking to go there and buy a new Hyundai. Not only did he take the time to explain to me every single feature that the car offered (and there were A LOT), not once did I feel pressured to "upgrade" or get a different model than the one I truly liked. After explaining everything to me, I was able to take the car for a test drive on both the street and freeway.
Thankfully they had the color I wanted in storage and Tom was kind enough to get it cleaned up for me. After the he went through the paperwork with me and the car was ready to go he helped me get the car set up. He sat in the car with me for about 45 minutes and set every single setting to how I wanted it in the car before I drove off the lot. Needless to say he was great and I truly appreciated his kindness and patience with me. I ended up driving away in a 2019 Hyundai Tucson Limited thanks to Tom, I cannot thank you enough!

Which is weird for a newer car. So we took it in to service. The advisors at this dea8ler are total sells man and full of b.s. constantly trying to get out of warranty repairs. HiCollecting a fee beacuse there mechanic drove the car around the block And was unable to find the problem. Service advisor said he would call back the following day and schedule a ride along with the manager of the service dept. Well that phone call never came. My wife actually totaled that car 2 weeks ago and we couldnt be happier. She bought a brand new Honda Accord sport. Drives beautifully and the dealership is awesome and nice! We will NEVER buy another hyundai again thanks to the horrible service when it starts acting up. Thank you Carlsbad hyundai for pushing us into a waaaaaaay better vehicle.

Do not buy from here. I was given a price up front...

Do not buy from here. I was given a price up front by Cody Didyoung and specifically asked if there was anything dealer added, and was told no. I guess they forgot to mention the additional $300 charge for VIN stickers they add onto the doors. I made an appointment and was told the car would be ready when I got there. It wasn't. The department that preps vehicles did a horrible job. Sticker goo was left on the rear windows and the front tires were over inflated by 4 pounds. The engine bay looks like someone dumped a 40lb bag of sand in it (I guess that's my fault for assuming the engine bay would be clean). The coolant and windshield wiper fluid weren't anywhere near full, and I feel 23 miles on a car I was told was "just off the truck" is a tad excessive. The bottom line is poor attention to detail, things you don't see at some other manufacturer's dealerships. Don't settle for substandard treatment, here or anywhere else.

Update 1: I contacted the dealership about the above faults with the car and was told the email would be forwarded to the service department, detail department, and the manager. It's been 10 days, and no one has contacted me to offer to fix the issues or even to apologize. Their lack of customer service would give Comcast a run for their money.

Update 2: I was finally contacted by the dealership. They threatened to send me a bill for the $1000 Uber driver rebate that was already applied when I bought the car... um, good luck with that. I have since taken my car to another dealer who finished the prep and topped off the fluids (gratis) that should have been done when I bought the car.

Every aspect of my car purchase has been a nightmare the manager was rude and the finance lady made us wait over an hour when we had an appointment (she was not even helping anyone) The manager didn't seem to care that we were waiting.
I purchased a certified used car. After I noticed that the tags were expired for three months I called and they told me that they had them--would've been nice for them to just mail it when he (manager) got it. 2 days later it blew a front wheel bearing --warranty. The service writer was nice but there were no loaner vehicles available and they would not get me a rental. I would not recommend this dealership to anyone!

I paid in full with cash and they still took my credit report, and reported that I got an auto loan. This was on 8/13/2020. I called Experian and Bob Baker, and neither were willing to help me. I'm going to report them to the BBB, attorney general of California, and consumer financial protection bureau if they continue to do nothing. After that I'm suing.

Bought my 2005 Sonata here 13 years ago and been coming here since day 1. Now new owner Bob Baker will not honor life time bundle that past 2 owners did. Went to the sales for an email promotion to test drive and I told the salesman i was looking to get a new SUV. I showed him my email and link showing they were participating but his manager said I needed a print out otherwise he will not honor the promotion. WoW what a way to lose a loyal customer! Btw if you want a good service rep, ask for Tom Bassett as he is knowledge and always took care of my service. Good bye Bob Baker Hyundai as I'll be buying my next car some place else.

This place is AMAZING!! THEY ARE AWESOME WITH FINANCE EVEN IF YOUR CREDIT ISNT PERFECT. Catharine in finance does her best to get you the best finance company at the lowest rate. Perry is a down to earth salesman who is so nice and makes you feel comfortable. I let them know what I wanted as far as space for my family and my price range and they made it happen. The whole process was fast and AMAZING...EASIEST car purchase I ever made definately recommend Carlsbad Hyundai..THANK YOU AGAIN !!!

Always had good service here for my Hyundai. Service team is polite, professional, and not at all pushy. Free rides if you want to drop off your vehicle. Nice lounge with free coffee and wifi if you choose to wait.

This is another place where i have visited in one of my poorer moods. Im sure the staff and manager know me by name and cringe every time i make an appointment. Despite my poor attitude, the staff, mostly ulysses have had to deal with me. He is one of the most professional people i have seen in the car business. On another time due to my own lack of understanding of an issue i escalated my concern to the store manager Gillian i think is her name. She was wonderful at explaining to me what was happening and did everything she could to help me understand the situation. This could be a 4 star review as one time i received an oil change and oil dripped from their hose to my seat and the stain is still there. However i probably deserved it due to my attitude and am now over it. It's not that big of a stain. Again im sorry, please don't cringe when i make appointments. Im trying to be a better person lol.

What a waste of time if I come in and they can t get the car or it s next month. Why would I bother coming to a location that doesn t have the car i m Looking for at the possibility they could get it or not. Blatantly disregard for my time and I have the email threads to show it. What an awesome experience I had with the service ...

What an awesome experience I had with the service department. Our service advisor, Tom, took excellent care of us. Our repairs were done in a timely matter and with Tom's assistance we were able to get all original Hyundai parts. He also explained and walked me through the process of filing a claim with my auto insurance, as the repair was caused by a huge pot hole.

Thanks to TOm & the Bob Baker Service Department!

The shop itself is nice, really relaxed environment, the manager also seemed really cool. It all starts when the salesman approaches ya. Cesar was a nice enough guy, some good jokes too, however they are solely to get ya interested and feel like he's on your side. They make percentage commission at this dealership so be ready to negotiate hard. I was looking at the Hyundai Ioniq Blue which is priced around 24k. He went off to talk to his manager and came back with 31k. I want whatever it is they put in Bob Baker Hyundai's water to come back at that price! I negotiated that down to around 28k then told him I'm a 2020 grad, which is a $400 discount. He went to the manager came back and said I needed proof of income over 2k a month since graduation. I thought he was kidding. I said multiple times "are you serious? We're in the middle of a pandemic." He had asked before what my job was and clearly knew film productions are shut down so I have not been making 2k a month. You'd think they'd cut a 2020 grad who had to graduate via zoom a break, not to mention having had COVID for 2 months, which landed me in the hospital. No breaks when it comes to buying cars haha! I ended up going to Poway Hyundai and buying the Ioniq SE, a 26k car (higher model than blue) for 21k and 23k out the door and they HONORED the grad discount with a photo of my diploma. Recent grads, don't let these guys take advantage of you because of your age and "inexperience," walk out, do your research, use TrueCar.com, and get that price that'll make ya happy. This was my first time negotiating a car and even I left with a killer deal. Happy car shopping!

We decided not to repair.

My lease on my Elantra was up in May 2020. The dealership kept calling me and sending me emails starting in November 2019 wanting me to turn in my Elantra early because they needed used cars. I spoke with them over the phone and then in person. Each time they said they would pay off my Elantra if I traded it in. So, I got a Tucson. A month later I received a bill for the balance of the rest of my payments on my Elantra. It's been 3 weeks now trying to get this resolved. The manager and the salesman at the time assured me about paying the Elantra off. Well, guess who doesn't work there anymore? The manager..of course!

We were greeted right away by Tom C. who was friendly and attentive as we were looking into buying a Santa Fe. He helped us through the test drive with great detail about the vehicle. I liked how informative he was without being the typical pushy salesperson.

We ended up buying the Santa Fe and Tom made it a smooth and easy process. Also, big shout-out to Catherine for making the finance process easy. Overall, great and friendly service!

This dealership completely lacks transparency, and if I was not in a hurry to obtain a vehicle, I would choose not to do business with them. First of all, if you're thinking about buying a new car here, they fail to tell you that all cars have LoJack installed in them (at least that's what the dealer told me), which comes to an extra ~$500. This dealership was recently bought out by Bob Baker, and they failed to let any of their customers know. When I came in for my first service appointment, I was baffled by the disorganization that was happening under the new management, and the fact that they did not send out an email about this until months later. I am still baffled today; it has been weeks since I have been emailing and talking to several employees to obtain my new-car-purchaser benefits (that disappeared from the website since the new management), and nobody has given me an adequate answer. Since I already bought the car (before then, they would immediately respond with answers), I do not think they feel obligated to give good customer service. I'm trapped with them, but if you can avoid them, please do!

I too had a poor experience with Gillian back in 2010. I purchased a new Santa Fe Limited from this dealership. Had an issue with the Infinity stereo head unit about two weeks after purchasing the vehicle. Took it back and the tech that replaced the radio damaged the dash panel around the area by the stereo head unit (scratches) due to sloppy work by him. Addressed the issue with Gillian and she could have cared less. Poor attitude and terrible customer service. She did nothing to help me or correct the situation. I couldn't believe I just spent north of 28K two weeks earlier and now was being treated like this. Plus now my new car was damaged with only 635 miles on the odometer. I remember this like it happened yesterday. I complained to the upper management at that time. Nothing was ever done to make the situation right. I told everyone I knew about my experience. During that point in my life I was in Vista working in heavy retail dealing with lots of folks on a daily basis. I know it cost them at least one potential sale, and hopefully I steered other people away from this place. I did everything I could to spread the word and share my lousy experience. I'm amazed she's still there with all the negative reviews about her lack of customer service skills. She sucked then and obviously is just as bad today. She is an awful person to deal with when there is a problem. It definitely says a lot about Bob Baker as well, keeping her around to drive off good customers. They apparently don't mind her behavior. I never went back. Well fast forward to today. I've purchased 3 new vehicles since 2010. None were Hyundais, and none were purchased from any dealership associated with North County Hyundai or the Bob Baker Auto Group. Gillian with her arrogance, plus the lack of support from the dealership in general, drove me away forever. I took my hard earned money elsewhere to dealerships that knew exactly what quality customer service was all about.

So far, so good. Talked to Dave prior to coming over about the vehicle we were interested in, he had it pulled up and ready when we got there. Emanuel was very nice and accomodating on the test drive and while checking out everything with the vehicle. We negotiated a price we were good with, and we'll go in today, do the financing (on half the cost of the vehicle), sign the documents, pick it up, and hopefully be out quickly. Thanks guys!

Came in for a oil change and recall notice / computer upgrading. I also brought wind shield wipers to be changed, but needed the 3rd rear one. They were out, but I have pre-paid for the new one and have yet to receive a phone call to come in for replacement.

Beware of dealer adding on costs! High pressure sales guy tried to get us to buy a used Tucson at $3000 over the sticker price. The car was 4 years old and he would not negotiate on the price except to begrudgingly lower the price to the asking price. Uncomfortable experience, Very disappointed.

Mikail took me on the test drive and was extremely helpful and personable. He pointed out many features on the vehicle I wasn't aware of and showed me how to use the tech. Christian helped me with the buying process and was extremely helpful with the price and the payment options. I have had the car a week and am so far very happy, you will not find a better warranty in town.

The service department is a major pain in the butt. The service manager in particular has an attitude that they're doing you a huge favor in taking care of a warranty repair. The parts department never has the part needed and they have to do an "emergency" order to the warehouse in LA every, single time, wasting at least a day of the customers time. Go buy your Hyundai somewhere else in town.

Don't ever buy a Car from this dealership or Hyundai. I was sold a new vehicle , Genesis with a aftermarket part's (Navigation and Rear view camera) which was not disclosed. The worst part is they also convinced me to buy the platinum extended warranty to specially protect these parts when NO aftermarkets parts are covered by the extended warranty. Now I have a vehicle with less the 60k miles with no way to control , Radio, AC/ Heat, no rear view camera, or Navigation. I will never buy a Hyundai again
