I came in here with my daughter on the 29th around 10pm and I m still here in the pediatrics and it s November 30th 5:53 am we have yet to get discharged and it takes hours to see a nurse and or doctor to check my daughter everyone is coming in with the same issue *flu season* and yet my child and her father is sleeping on hospital beds until we are seen he had to miss a new day of work because employees like taking their sweet time to tend to their patients
This was my first time admitted here as a paitent. First, the building seems new and beautiful, so was stuff. But as I stayed longer, I found out my room's heater is broken and ice machine is broken.
Nurse here I had really did minimum if not just empty promises. I rarely seen by doctors as well.
Person who worked hard was Assistant Nurse Ms Tarsha. She was going beyond and above to make us comfortable and did whatever I asked. She is amazing hard working person.
Don't get me wrong my docters are all affiliated with this hospital are amazing
Unfortunately their ER is not the best went last week because I went to city md prior and they told me to.go to the ER gave me a.paper and all
I waited 3 hours and no docter had seen me the nurse told me might be 5 hour plus wait
I had to leave I was really dehydrated needed IV and ended going to another ER which took me right in and indeed needed a IV was so bad that they couldnt find my veins and when they did blood wasn't coming out very slow the nurses felt bad
Point blank avoid this emergency room if you dont want to wait 5 + hour it was ridiculous not sure what would have happened if I continued waiting
I have 15 years of experience with a bachelor degree in Human Resources and with a minor in communication.. I have been applying to every open job that i know I am qualified for but I never got hired.
So I found out that In order to get a job in this hospital or any other hospitals.. you have to meet the following criteria.. 1. Mommy or daddy working there 2. Aunty or uncle working there 3. or you have to sleep with someone! 4. It s who you know not what you know So I don t get the point of having a degree or experience because It s useless!
What A Great Hospital To Go To The Nurses Are Extremely Helpful And The Doctor Comes To Check Up On You And He Calls The Next Day To See How Your Doing One Of The Best Places To Go In An Event Of A Emergency.
Today come to emergency room and is awful I had been recommended this hospital but today I felt like I was in Elmhurst Hospital the worse one in Queen very very disapointed
I got a fish bone stuck in my throat. I went here to check and they let me wait for hours. Then run a CAT scan or something. The doctor said he didn t see anything. He also asks a radiologist check out and also nothing. He asked me to stay for 3 days. Later I still feel hurts and come see a throat doctor. He put a camera down my throat and see a pretty large fish bone! I mean WTF. Doctors in ER need to be more responsible!
This hospital is very junk. If there is something urgent, I suggest not to come here. The last time the acute gastroenteritis was dying. I was waiting. The doctor was like a soy sauce. I came and walked from time to time. It hurt so much that I needed a painkiller to grind and wait for a few hours. It took almost a day to get out of the hospital. I really admire the efficiency of this hospital, which is disgusting. The attitude of the nurse is also very poor. I need to grind it before I get it. Is the hospital spending money to raise lazy people? The patients are in need only to come in. Do you treat the patients so low? Overall, it s really junk! ! ! May you not suffer from this sin. Cherish what you have at the moment.
When you look at all the one stars here, it tells you all. It's critical care that those doctors or staffs that lack of. Doctors aren't competent enough, don't even mention those staffs which one you can really trust, do some research, I would not come back to this hospital for my life sake.
Thinking this could only happen to others? No, Too late for me to see it myself! My mom died in this place. Horrible!
I should have listened to one of the patient there telling me about the survival rate of the hospital. That was my - BIGGEST mistake - to take my mom back and forth to this hospital and i will regret for the rest of my life!
The administrator on the 8th floor could only call security guards for patients families who want to address their concerns. She was really a nightmare in controlling your voice of concerns, which is really immoral. She may be a grandma of someone and yet being so inhuman to the family and patient. She came into my mom's room a few times and telling me and other doctors that my mom should not be kept going with my support. She had security guard in my mom's room the day she passed away and the day before, she had me out in the snow while my mom had no one by her bed.
The nurse head told me to leave at the night before my mom passed away though i begging her to let me stay. The attending doctor told me could not transfer to another hospital because he didn't know anyone in the other hospital and even i had made the phone call had the other hospital dr. called him.
I could have called a helicopter to get my mom to another hospital overnight if time could turn back!
It's a joke wait to see your love one's life suffering and helplessly thinking this place can do anything? No. I would say doctors and nurses and administrators were the worse. It's a nightmare hospital!!!!
One time after my mom had been discharged and sent back the other day, one of the attending dr called me while my mom was back in the hospital, the dr on the phone thinking she had not been discharged and she told me the x ray shown she had pneumonia, should have stayed in the hospital. What a joke for life! Her blood level went down to 3 and no one in the room to give her any blood test to find out until i urged to. So many things it would take me pages to write about it. It Had Have Happened in this hospital!
She had painful suppressed lumber, the PA told me she had psychological problem. Another time It was life threatening situation that i called 911 and saved her life and the PA who was delivering discharging instruction, told me not to take her back and forth to the hospital??? She didn't even bother to check why was she admitted? Yes i should have brought her to another hospital immediately. Did she know that this was a serious mistake statement?
The night before she passed away, her fever was high and body was swollen to 3x of her own size and the dr. on call saying it was alright?
Nightmare is the perfect word to describe whenever driving by it. All those memories of dealing with the issue of sanitation of nurse aid did not change gloves to the negligence of doctors and the immorality of administrator makes me sick of it, It was like a dead end road there,
The medical and nursing care were amazing from the ER all the way through the entire stay. The team is well prepared, professional and no matter who you encounter the employees seem approachable and happy to work there.
Very unprofessional nurses and doctors. Not all of the but most of them. They'll have you waiting in the E.R for hours for one shot. The people at the front desk aren't really no help with information. Lazy and very rude.
I went in the emergency at 12 pm and now is 6:40 pm and I m still here. They just took my blood and that s it. I swear to god if you are really sick don t come Here. The wait is ridiculous. They had patients after me going in before me. They keep saying next and next. But my Number never came. Please avoid this place. By the way I m still Waiting to see A DOCTOR!!
The slowest thing I've been in my whole life, at least in Emergency, the staff, is very cold and indifferent, and rude the nurse who touched us, Asian, named Cindy in emergencies, was completely neglected, I think that It was racism for being Hispanic, I noticed instantly that he disliked it, it was the worst experience that she made me spend IN ALL MY LIFE, I do not wish it on anyone.
Place is good !!! They are very nice at the emergency office and are very funny and also very good Pepole I like this hospital but can take a long time
My wife was with MAJOR headache and high blood pressure with possible risk of stroke, it took them 3 effing hours to take the pain away, nurses with bad attitude, wait time is ridiculous. Nurses are not trained, can't put the IV in correctly(it took them 5 times too get it right) The other time with my newborn they couldn't put the catheter in right either, then again bad attitude. Really bad experience, do not recommend. Next time we will seek for help elsewhere
Awful. This place is simply just awful. After waiting seven plus hours to see, I was send home without a diagnosis and just some pain medicine. Please please avoid this hospital, unless you have countless hours to kill. Also I had ask the nurse how people are queued, and she stated that it was by state of emergency, but after seven hours of observing it was clearly who can complained the most. Completely unprofessionql.
Every time I'm not well I know I'm going to be taken care by honest doctors who sincerely care for their patients. I'm usually seen in less than 10 minutes and am out of the hospital in only a few hours at most with all my labs accurately checked and feeling much better and stable. The nurse Willie is such a kind and compassionate one she is always so sweet.
If you don't have to go there don't. They're the worst. My father went there and was there all day. Actually were still here and keep waiting. Every time I get up to ask they tell me the same thing. Three more ppl ahead of you. It's now 5:39 and he's been here since 9am. With low blood pressure. Dizzy. Vomiting etc. not a good hospital. Stay away. They will tell you they are busy every time you ask. You need to be dying for them to see you right away. This hospital was never like this before.
Only a few nurses are friendly, many others are horrible... I was suffering from a lot of pain and press the button for many times. The nurse just ignored me and didn't give me pain medicine after 7 hours!!!! It was the worst experience I've ever had.
The physician told me that the surgery I would have 95% would be successful and told me that I would be fine. Then what happen is that after the surgery I was suffering from a lot of pain which it was not supposed to. The nurses saw I was crying that I had pain. They simply said to me " don't cry like a baby" OMG!!!!! If i m not in pain why should i cry??? Why don't you give me pain medicine?? Why you guys walks away as a cold watcher??? They treat me harshly... Later the physicians told me that i was the 5%!!!!!So I end up in ICU.
UPDATE: They seem to have switched to CNN now. Also, cafeteria and gift shop prices generally tend to be on the high side. Plus, there's an old Baby Grand in the lobby that they won't let anyone touch. ORIGINAL REVIEW: The waiting area is open and spacious, with plenty of windows for sunlight. Cool in summer and warm in winter, it's got relatively few "Unwashed," even in the winter! Only problem is the rather audible Faux Nooze on 24/7...do we really need this kind of idiocy in a hospital??? Anyway, I had a nice experience treating a knee injury -- initial doc/nurse-practitioner and imaging-tech were great, but the senior sports doc who saw me later was rather rude, wanting to rush to a follow-up case (i.e., a follow-up visit) that was more interesting to him professionally (he could bask in the glory of a successful knee surgery instead of my prosaic quotidian check-up type of visit).
I had a seizure in August and after hours of waiting for my results, a nurse told me it could ve been anything and sent me on my way. I was also touched in appropriate by their ambulatory staff and no one in the hospital could point to who was in charge. They kept sending me to different people and asked me to wait more hours to speak to whoever and basically dismissed me. Thanks a lot Presbyterian hospital
This was our experience in New York Presbyterian/Queens, the ER department recently. The staffs NEVER WASHED THEIR HANDS upon touching the patients. Nor did they wash their hands after touching the patients. This includes the nurses, the doctor, the aids and etc. This is why people can go in to the hospital healthy and comes home sick because they get hospital germs, mind you the germs from the hospitals are "super bugs". Our nurse almost gave DOUBLE DOSE of insulin to my father. Thanks to God because I stopped her. I watched when the previous dose was given 5 minutes ago but by a different nurse who did not tell us who he is and what he was going to do with all that equipment in his hands. He didn't check the patient's name! So I had to keep watching closely and asking questions about whatever he is doing. Not only him, whenever anyone comes to the bed, they never introduce themselves, so I had to read their name tags while listening to what they are saying.
The doctor without informing us gave the order to another different nurse to discharge us but that NURSE FORGOT, so we waited and waited without any acknowledgment. Until I got frustrated and grabbed the doctor and asked him "what is the news?" He said "I thought you were discharged" and he turned to the nurse who was sitting in front of us on his computer said "OH I thought they were in the other bed on the other side...." He thought we were the bed on the other side and since that bed was empty HE ASSUMED we had left....
Overall, I'm thankful that my dad was OK.
I'd like to offer some suggestions as to how to improve better care to patients: 1. Wash your hands. 2. Check patients name tags. 3. Introduce yourselves and explain your procedures. 4. Keep the patients informed.
I heard the working environment is bad and the employees are not treated well. So what happens when your health care providers are mistreated? They under perform and the patients get to pay the price.
If I had to choose between dying and coming to New York Pres Queens ER I would seriously need to consider it. I was ignored and left to roll around in pain on a bed in the corridor. I was left in that hallway pleading, begging, crying and screaming for someone to "for the love of god, HELP me". I did finally get pain meds after 5 hours, but if I was not immobilized with pain I would have wandered to a pharmacy for literally any kind of pain med. Cost of ER portion alone: $5,974.18
I went there to be seen at the dentist emergency part and they tell me all they could do is give me Tylenol wen I habe a whole in my tooth. They didn't have no clean chairs. Person calling back patients doesn't know how to deal with ppl that are in pain. I give it a 0 star
The ER was swamped that Friday night, despite which my mother was tended to quickly, courteously, and professionally by Dr. Yoon, an excellent doctor. The nurses in W321 were also excellent, particularly considering my Mom is quite difficult (thanks Nurse Chi Chi, too bad you're married!). We're very grateful to this wonderful hospital.....no need to go to Manhattan for a big name.
Very good Hospital. The doctors here are nice and friendly. Fast service and they always make sure your doing fine. Took my nine year old kid here for check up and doctors were good.
This place is the worst.!! Nurses are good but DOCTORS the WORST.! My grandma stood here for 2 weeks and her doctor was dr.Lazaresku. I haven't seen her at all and she refused to make contact with my family. I didn't know if she is a guy at firs.! Please go to Wyckof better then here 100 times
My wife and I are very grateful to all the hospital staff. My wife gave birth to our daughter in this place, And all the staff very well everything. But the Emergency room is a bit slow, But everything else is good!
Great care while inside hospital but trying to get names of doctors that were on your case is close to impossible. Names listed on discharge papers could not be found by hospital operators so can't reach them. No list given of who were monitoring your case. Some can be residents or physicians' assistants so are not listed in hosptal directory. Very frustrating!
I bring my kid in emergency here and we waited for Doctor forever which actually kills the purpose of me bring the kid in emergency .worse service and no care . If possible , avoid this hospital .
my experience at NYHQ was frustrating. you go to a hospital and once there you go to the front desk an say need to go to neurology dept. the people at front desk don't know where that dept. is located. you ask people who work at the hospital where a certain dept. is located and no one knows. what got me frustrated is the lack of understanding people who work at a hospital are. if they don't know where a dept. is located, damn, at least say something in affect "i will find out" it's so unprofessional when you are asking a question and the person say "i don't know. It would be nice, no matter what dept. you work in all staff should be informed about the different locations they have in a hospital. thanks for letting me express myself.
i went to the hospital on 10/18/19 thinking that this was a good hospital. when i went to the hospital i had a letter from my GI doctor stating that he thought i had a perforation in my intestine and that i needed a CT Scan along with antibiotics through an ivy. I was in the emergency room a good 2 hours before i was registered. Whenever i would ask a RN when would i be seen the response would be, give us a few minutes. i was finally registered when a medical student intervened. It was 8 hours later that i was taken for the CT Scan. It was 10 hours later that they gave me the morphine for the pain. i was poked 8 times in order to get my ivy line. the RN poked me 5 times, another nurse came and poked me one time and i requested that they use the ultra sound in order to get my vein. A doctor came with another intern or i don't know who and they were 1 hour trying to get my vein. It appeared that they did not know what they were doing. What a nightmare!! In all i was poked 8 times. It was at 10:30pm when they started me on the antibiotics that the doctor had written on his note and then at 1:30 am they discharged me from the hospital. They were in a rush to discharge. Had they done what they were suppose to do, i would not have been in the hospital for so many hours. Then they discharge a sick person at a time when is dangerous, what is wrong with their compassion and caring for the ill. I will never go to this hospital again and don't recommend it. Please go to a different hospital. I had a negative experience and believe me there is more about the hospital that i can say. The bathroom was filthy. During all the hours at the hospital no one kept me informed as to the delay or what was happening. The transporter, Sandy, had issues and an attitude. The doctor and the nurse were hardly seen by me. Not even a resident would stop by to let me know what was happening. This is not a hospital to go to, as the patient does not receive the best care. It lacks doctors to tend to the sick. I never saw a gastroenterologist in the ER and don't know if they have one.
Worst service ever after waiting 7hrs in ER they misdiagnosed my son the day of my visit and said keep on giving him Fever medication and inhaler and guess what after 2days they called and said he has Pneumonia
Arrived at 920pm feburary 5. Its 1238am February 6 and still waiting for service...I see 3 other people before me and that are waiting too. I understand the hospital is very busy today. But over 3 hours is a bit too long.. I'll add more info on when my wife gets some type of service.
Excellent service ! From the nurses which are the best I ever meet, to the doctors which are superlative in every way! Great team! Thank you for everything!
I went in to to ER at 12 in the morning because of my moms head injury (she was bleeding). We waiting an hour for the doctor to come. Waited another hour to do CT. Then 4 more hours for the report to come back. Oh and during this whole night we were in there, not a single nurse help my mom clean the blood on her head, the blood was already dried up by then. So we wasted 6+hours in there without any treatment. Such a fantastic hospital in New York.
So three days ago, my wife and I checked into the hospital.
She was going into labor.
Lets skip to the part where she is fully dilated.
Its 6:10 am, nurses are about to turnover at 7.
We have one nurse in the room, and one delivery doctor.
My wife is due that moment, the doctor tells her to push. Then as an afterthought she pulls out the foot rests and told my wife to put her feet up. Then told her to move, then after realizing my wife was too tall for the standard foot rests, she then tries to set up the extended foot rests for taller people- all the while my wife is going through the motions and urges of pushing and telling her to push without foot supports. Oh guess what, the extended foot rests, one of them was jammed/broken. So my wife is told to push all the while this doctor wastes time trying to set things up last minute.
For alternative support, we then get the nurse to hold her left leg, I ended up holding the right leg. Was I given a choice? Nope, they were understaffed, why? Because all the other nurses wanted to go home instead of sticking around to assist in a last minute birth before the shift change. ( I could be wrong about the reason but hell this was a mess from my point of view.)
This doctor left the room for several contraction/pushes, dont know where the hell she went.
The nurse kept going to the baby monitor, she had to be told several times during pushes to go back to the left leg, all because their stupid birthing bed was broken. The nurse's job I suppose was to monitor the baby, but hello? The baby will be in distress if we cant even get it out, no? SO FREAKING GET TO THE BED, HOLD MY WIFE'S LEG AND TURN TO WATCH the screen if need be.
Two baby doctors appeared later on and they just stood there watching. I'm standing there still holding my wife's leg thinking uh.. So how about one of you come over here and help.
No their job is only the baby apparently. But one of them actually comes over to my wife and gives her breathing advice and tips that actually help my wife through the pushes. The nurse? useless, the doctor assigned? useless. Other nurses come in the room but never stayed to assist. I held my wife's leg the whole damn time. One nurse brought and dripped mineral oil into the vagina and left.
Towards the final pushes the nurse goes back to the baby monitor and my wife loses for a minute and snapped "uh could somebody hold my leg?" and I in turn said, "Yeah, can you hold her leg? I dont even know why the hell I am holding the other leg this is just ridiculous."
n the useless doctor kept going "breathe 1 2 333333333333333333333333333333" from the very first push towards the end. Yeah thats really helping doc.
It was unreal. I am shocked at how incompetent these nurses and doctors are.
I never got asked if I could assist, if I wanted to assist, I have no qualms about assisting my wife in her time of need for my baby girl. But what drives me insane is the fact how they seemed so disoriented and disorderly that my wife had to suffer longer than necessary.
Oh and the bags they set up to catch the fluids when my baby came out, good thing I jumped out of the way cause it splashed right where my foot was. Pure mess.
Post care nurses- 2 days out of 3, were great to my wife and baby except this one nurse on the second day who kept saying she'd do this and do that but disappeared for 30 minutes and then come back empty handed only to walk back out to retrieve what she said she'd bring. Whatever!!
But this review is reflective of the incompetence during birth. I am simply outraged thinking back at how it all played out.
Where was my choice? Where were your nurses?
When we get the bill, do I get a deduction for assisting your nurse? your doctor?
Don't get me wrong I would do it all over again for my wife and child, I just want to know where the hell my choice was.
I don't understand the bad reviews written about this hospital. The emergency room medical staff and then the admitting medical staff were fantastic as I recovered from a TIA stroke. Their professionalism and expertise made my stay there quiet, restful and educational. Yes, the nurses had to complete their hourly checks and vital tests, but for the most part, they answered every call I made when I needed assistance from my bedside and I received instruction from the physical therapy departments and nutritionist before my departure. The doctors on call were reachable and even the emergency doctor came to my room to check on me. My stay was not a long enduring wait to be checked out. It was informative and the staff were incredibly patient and courteous. If I had to be admitted to any hospital in Queens, it will most definitely be New York Hospital Medical Center of Queens!
Dirty pediatrics ER. Very long wait while many staff dilly dally. Unsure of the process but, just for a rash we waited two and half hours to be seen. Deplorable, especially with an empty triage at the time we arrived. 3/23/19.
HORRIBLE RECEPTION WOMAN WHO WORKS AT THE EMERGENCY REGISTRATION. She was sitting on the left side of the desk today, wearing a white shirt, has short gray hair and wears thin framed glasses. I walked up to her and politely asked if I could see a doctor today (I've been having chest pains since starting new medicine) and she was EXTREMELY RUDE AND UNHELPFUL. She made faces at me, pointed at the people waiting, had an extremely unpleasant tone, and asked me how old I am unnecessary (not to fill out any forms.) At this point, I told her I would just leave. After all this, she asked what's wrong with me. I said I would be more comfortable to tell the doctor, yet she kept rudely insisting I tell her. I calmly said no and left. She then asked my sister "what my problem is." I'm going to call HR when they open on Monday and let them know about this horrible lady who should not work at a hospital whatsoever. Please have this terrible woman fired. She had no respect for a patient in pain. Awful. I am absolutely disgusted that a branch of of NY Presbyterian would hire this witch.
Two years ago I fell and broke my ankle and I stayed in this hospital and had surgery there they were very kind and nice to me they made me feel very good this was in February 18 thank you so much keep up the good work
Hi my best experience about service in hospital the New York Presbyterian is the best about take care a person never see a hospital in New York about this I recommend 100% the all doctor and nurses very friendly thanks for everything god bless.
Worst ER. Making patients wait in ER with no chairs for family. Came to ER 11pm 11/14/17 and next day was told 5:30am mom would be admitted. 16 hours later no news.
This hosptial is just outrageous! Ive been going here for years, my grandmother was here before she died, I had my son here about a year ago. Back then I would say that this is a good hospital, but now my whole outlook to this hospital is bad. If I could give it 0 stars I would. My last visit is the reason I would do so. My grandfather had a seizure he is 78 years old & was admitted here, after I received the call I practically ran over here with my son, I got there maybe an hour after he got there. Not only was he under a false name & it took me about 30 mins to find him, he was under that false name the whole time he was there! He was there for 4 days! I told them he's real name & all of hes info the day he was admitted & they still never changed it! There was family/friends trying to see if he was okay & they couldnt find him because he was under a false name! God forbid he could have died & nobody would have known! He had hes ID on him, they could have just taken a minute to look but they didnt. Not only did they do that but the day he was gonna be discharged they didnt want to get him any clothes!! They had to rip hes clothes when he got here, which in my opinion was pointless, he didnt have trauma, just a seizure. They offered to give him PAPER SCURBS! Are you kidding me? Its freezing outside the poor man doesnt have clothes because THEY DECIDED TO RIP IT OFF! They made me talk to a bunch of people, all for some clothes! They came offering short pants & a hoodie, it was 30 degrees outside! I was arguing with the staff & even a supervisor to get my grandfather clothes, they were like "he could be discharged tomorrow when you bring him clothes" We are currently homeless, Im in a shelter with my son & husband, my grandfather didnt want to go through the system so he decided he can stay with people, I couldnt just go get hes clothes cause he hardly has any! Im placed in brooklyn & have a curfew at my shelter, what was I suppose to do? I couldnt afford him staying another night in the hospital, especially if they reason hes staying an extra night is cause "nobody could find clothes" I love my grandfather very much, he raised me & Ill give the world for him, after 4 hours of arguing, the supervisor was calling security on me but for what? Im here for hours just trying to make sure my grandfather leaves safely! Do you wanna know who ended up helping us? The security guards!!! It took them 20 mins to get sweat pants a heavy jacket AND two thermal sweaters!! So you wanna tell me that the hospital staff couldnt do that? My grandfather was on the 8th floor, the supervisor was very rude & no one was doing anything. I will never go to this hosptial again, what happened on this day was just unacceptable, if they treated my grandfather like this, then im pretty sure we aren't the only ones that got mistreated at this hospital. EVERYBODY PLEASE whoever has an elderly family member or friend, remember alot of people mistreat the elderly, at the end of the day if it wasnt for them where would we be? Why would we make their world harder just cause we dont wanna deal with them? This was their world first! Sorry for the long review, its just I never experienced this anywhere else & I know they mistreat their patients. The staff there make over 20 an hour, it seems like what they make has made them lose their humanity, the people who treat hospitals like a business are really messed up in the head, at the end of the day lives are more important then business!!!
Excellent service the staff are friendly, my daughter gave birth at this hospital and meet some great Nurses, Doctors like Dr Jason Fong, Dr schroll, Dr thener and all the other doctors one love
THE WORST EMERGENCY ROOM IN NYC. ALL INCOMPETENCE AND NEGLECT. MY MOTHER NEARLY DIED AFTER WAITING AN HOUR JUST TO SEE THE NURSE. WE HAD TO LEAVE AND GO TO A DIFFERENT HOSPITAL. UNBELIEVABLE, YOU WILL DIE IF YOU COME HERE AND NEED IMMEDIATE MEDICAL ATTENTION.
My mother had long stays at this hospital twice: the first time for a month, the second time for two months. The doctors here don't know what they're doing as she was threatened with intubation instead of being given a chance to fight (her respiratory system recovered with high-flow and BIPAP assistance) and had a chest tube put in and taken out of her multiple times because there was never a plan, just improvising. They even suggested sending my mom off to an end-of-life hospice at age 53 instead of TRYING. The second time she was here, she started having these bumps on her leg that resembled little spider bites near her discharge day. The doctors, Dr. Tom and Dr. Hasan, said they'll go away on their own and it's nothing to worry about. Our visiting nurse came today and said my mother has merca. This hospital doesn't care about their patients. Don't bring your loved ones here it's the worst.
Amazing things do not happen here. The service is horrible. My relative was in 5 west building post surgery and the nursing staff to the food service was not good at all. There is no introduction folder to let you know anything, esp how to order food. I had to order food for my relative because she could not use the phone and the nursing staff is no help. I called to order breakfast lunch and dinner for her from my job everyday while in the hospital. The food delivery was pushed behind the curtain so she never even knew it was there. All the nursing staff on 5 west just chatted by the nurses station until one of them decides to acknowledge you. They left the patient in the bathroom and did not even to come back and help. And they tell you to ring the bell, that s useless. Upon discharge, no one contacted me about time or date for discharge, so therefore they spoke to help while the patient was sleeping and left the discharge instructions on the chair. Oh yea and then on top of that, they called home to tell us that some of the discharge paperwork was not given and if we can come back to collect it. What kind of hospital is this? I reported to DOH and took names. Don t waste your time coming here.
Fast service in emergency dept, pay parking lot expensive & maximum time lot full because of small capacity car parking, pharmacy not except Medicaid , they open 8am-10pm. Emergency dept they provide a chair instead of bed.they are hurry to checkout/discharge, overall I have bad experience.
Waiting in ED with, headaches, stiff painful neck, earache and fever. One hour plus not triaged. Waiting area is dirty. Will make the trip to Cornell next time.!.
I brought my mother to the emergency because she had severe toothache. The front desk and the standby nurse were awesome and helpful. The doctor/dentist Dr Phun was very kind and caring. He took care of my mother's ailment very well. He was very professional and made sure my mother felt better before she left the emergency unit. He gave us all the needed info for the further treatment. He is the best!!!!
Hi All, Our beautiful child was born on August 2, and I usually do not leave any reviews. However let me share some NYPQ experience with you. We were extremely satisfied with care and attention from hospital staff. From day one when we attended and 3 days after we were discharged. There is no "NO" word from anyone there if you have any request. They always listen and follow with your request. Always care, and there for your needs. If you want separate room you get it, if you want fish no meet, you got it.If you tell them do not give your baby a pacifier, they do not. We where breastfeeding and very strict how we want our baby to eat. If you tell them wake you up when you baby is crying in the middle of the night they will call you (our baby was in NICU for few days) we were very pleased with their work and would Highly Recommend it to everyone. I was 24 hours without sleep and when I was coming back from lunch room, got lost a bit. The staff member listened carefully and allow me to come up through staff elevator to be there for my wife and baby, no questions asked. I call the NYPQ staff a professionals. Love you guys and thank you very much for you job!
The waiting time it is ridiculous. Like people attend ER for fun. I have a nurse that drop me in the triage then disappeared. Can believe that long time ago this was one of the best hospitals in the whole nation.
My doctor was great, as were the nurses. But a security guard cornered me and asked me on a date. I was in the emergency room for a debilitating migraine, and I get harassed by a security guard. Not okay.
My father-in-law has been in this hospital for a month now since he was originally sent to the ER then being transferred to the 4th floor of the West Wing Building after a surgery; the staffs are nice and patient, my mother-in-law was extremely touched and satisfied by a Nursing Attendant named Barbara Burke, she offered the best service she could ever given to the patient and relatives, she is warmhearted, patient, caring, loving and enthusiastic; she is the best!! As a patient's relative, I hope each staff could act as good as her! Thank you for your excellent work!! Barbara! and God bless you!
My mother died in this hospital. She was two months short if 90 years old. I just want to say before you decide to sign a form called do not resuscitate or do not interbate think twice. She. Not given the treatment she needed. There were several things that they did wrong. When you sign the d.n.i. and d.n r form that doesnt mean do not treat, they seemed to have forgotten that. Gid bless you mom, rest in peace
Excellent services even though you have to wait for a long time, but the results could be healthy . Clean, bright, for me all the Nurse and NA. Deserves a 5 STAR. I was in the North area 522 excellent team, and now West area 421 excellent services too. I want to say Thanks for everything , despite I don't know, how my ensures gonna help me with all this bills, I hope they covere it at least 97% The Nurse with the high experience doing the IV without trauma. excellent Nurse Murray (I.V.) NURSE 5 North : Marina, Ryan, NURSE 4 West: Vicky , Marie Philippine. The other names is because no everybody put on the blackboard. But all this names I never forget. thanks.

We ve been in the ER waiting room for over 10 hours now! THIS IS ABSOLUTELY HORRENDOUS! I ve never been so disgusted with this hospital. Then you have to chase people down to try and get some sort of answer and they all feed you the same BS.
I was waiting on a survey to be sent out to rate but do not think they will send it. I went to the ER in August 2017. I had horrible pains. Later found out it was a cyst. I can honestly say the nicest people are the underpaid ones. The CAT Scan technician was nice and aplogisied for not having a pillow for me. (Considering its a hospital they should.) The Ultrasound technician was nice and gentle. The porter got me socks said he doesnt want me to be cold. However, how many nurses passed and not one offered me socks. Two doctors introduced themselves and I didnt see the first one after. My mother ask the nurse a few times the status and she kept saying in a minute. I arrived at 10pm or so and didnt come home until 7am. The doctor said she will give me another dose of IV and took about 2 hours to do so. If you are going into the medical field, make sure you take lessons from the college course on how to care for patients. I have my BS in Sociology and thinning of going back for nursing. Its not all about the money, you have to have compassion.
I was in the hospital for 3 days following surgery 1/22-1/25-18 and I found the hospital to be fair. Most of the nurses are exceptional but they are overworked. Very little response when I pressed the call button. You rarely get a nurse but instead a nurse assistant. The bathroom was kept dirty in my room and the room was tiny (3rd floor), so tiny that when I got out of bed, I nearly hit my roommate. It was also dreadfully hot with no air circulation that I needed to ice myself down constantly and this was in the middle of winter! My IV kept breaking as did everything else. Not a great experience but Dr's and nurses are for the most part, wonderful.
I cant say the hospital is a bad hopital but the nurses has to learn some bed side manners when you ring the bell it takes the nurses 30 minutes or more to respond to the call bell and at times the nurses / cnas come into the room and just cuts off the bell without asking if someone rang the bell an they just walk out the room its sad the level of care the staff of 6 north gives
I have been going to NYHosp for years and as the time passes the service decreases. The doctors in the ER just don't care (with the exception of two ER doctors- Wish I had them today). They write you a prescription and send you home. How about you run some test, take an x-ray, a sonogram or something? This is the age of the internet, don't google what I already did and tell me what you think is wrong. I thought you became a doctor for reason! Where is your compassion? The test don't cost you anything but time! Where is that natural born sense to want to help solve the problem? My daughter has now had stomach pains for 5-6 months and you give her tylenol, motrin and a referral to see a GI doctor within 48 hours... because "there are guidelines & rules to admitting a patient"; because "a doctor has to decide if he wants to take care of you"; because "you don't see a reason to run any further test" despite her blood test results. Next time, I will drive out to LIJ, or better yet, Flushing Hospital!
