For the past 6 months my health has not been so good - I've been to MANY doctors and unfortunately I was unable to get the proper medical help required that is until I fell extremely ill on the morning of 6/14/12 and ended up in the ER of this outstanding hospital. It was like walking into a different time - everyone was sooooo polite and helpful and concerned. Everyone took special attention and they had manners.....I was able to get a diagnosis and move forward... This hopsital saved my life...... My experience here was definitely positive - and props go to DR Zong Cheng..

My obstetrician is not affiliated with this hospital, but I decided that it would be my hospital to gave birth, after speaking with Mrs. Dora Ruiz and making it clear to me that even if my obstetrician was not affiliated with the hospital I could still gave birth there, I had no doubt, from the beginning excellent care, both the nurses and delivery team were excellent, during my 3-day stay the nurses took special care, I can not remember the name of the nearly 15 who took care of me and my baby but each and every one did their work with love and vocation, if you are going to be a mother do not hesitate to leave in the hands of this hospital and this team the best moment of your life. Thank you so much!!!

The hospital is good with the exception that the non-generalized staff is very insensitive nurses who ask them to attend to your patient and leave you waiting for more than 1 hour or if you are behind wings they get upset, you ask for something like a sheet they leave you waiting and if you look for it, they get upset, to ask for ice, you have to look for it yourself and if you go to the desk counter and ask the majority, it is given to you! But with a bad face, some nurses do not help, my wife had surgery and she needed help to get up. She told the nurse in turn to help her because she could not do it and she did not reach out to help him get up, that day he was about to leave the hospital and due to that he gave him a very severe pain and he did not leave because of the pain of the effort he made

The excellent intensive care doctors, it hurts that the same cannot be said of some nurses and the assistants most do not serve, they lack humanity in dealing with patients, for things how are you I do not recommend

A very, very large facility that maintains the highest level of careful, caring, on point patient care in all specialties and modalities. A tightly run ship indeed. Friendly staff from housekeeping through radiology, labs, MDs, RNs, et al. I've had truly excellent experiences there. If pressed, I can and will name one physician whom, if not practicing under clear cut conflict of interests, remains a cretin of total amorality. He does detract from this facility's high standards. Such mutants do not usually survive long in a otherwise salubrious system. I suspect that macrophages will ultimately neutralize the singularity of this medical toxicity. Let's hope.

I was rushed to the hospital on 6/28 Sunday night 2020 I feel over a staton. At a parking garage and cracked my head on a ticket machine I feel down and my head was bleeding profusely because I'm on xarelto I was rushed to the critical care emergency room and was worked on feverishly for about a hour and a half received great doctors nurses and staff are awesome

I came there and had my lung punctured and collaps...

I came there and had my lung punctured and collapsed collapsed during a lung biopsy after my blood pressure was too low and a 30 gauge needle was forced into my back with no sedation whatsoever. I informed the PA to stop my procedure after he informed me i couldn't get sedation, and I couldn't tolerate the pain. He continued anyway which was not legal because my vital signs were unstable. AND he punctured my lung and collapsed it and I also had to have a chest tube surgically inserted with no sedation. The operator of the Ct machine and the one operating the biopsy needle and another Pa in the room were all alone with no MD supervision as the law states. I wont name them. But I will name Dr John De rosa who falsified a medical report to say he was there and i got full sedation and no events occurred and patient tolerated procedure well. He said it was finished as 9:25.I have all my records. Even the pa checking the medication out of the pharmacy at 930 and the Iv being hooked up at 1013and all the medication being cancelled at that time. It is on computer the Iv drip. Wheres John DeRosa hand wrote a false report. To coverup my very low 85 blood pressure by law you cannot do invasive surgery and innterventive radiology falls under that law with unstable vital signs. You must do 2 time outs before starting. So when i go to the medical board with this and i have all of your names and every false record you produced, and every time a report was made to patient services like being made to go 3days with no pain control because a sick dr kept canceling my oncologist orders and because i complained about it she put i had a personality disorder after i didnt want this dr near me. She kept coming into my room even though my right to have who I wish and not wish to treat me were ignored. I came for a 4 hour appointment and these inexperienced unsupervised morons almost killed me and I ended up there for 3 weeks. I got treated like i was in the wrong because I was unhappy for being there. I read disgusting things your nurses wrote about me that weren't even true. If I was upset or in pain because of what was done to me should I be happy about it.??? You have a lawless hospital and you do nothing about it.

Was emergently sent from citifield and could not be more appreciative of the quality of care and friendliness of all that helped me. I spent three days on the CCU and left with a stent, Dr Mark Balek the cardiologist was exceptional and I have dropped my cardiologist at Stony Brook and will be driving to Queens, it's worth the trip!

My kids they were born here 17 years a go , we still come here. Emergency room is fast as it can be, if you are really sick they take care of you right away. Staff are great specially in the floors, nurses have a lot of knowledge and are kind. Doctors are very good. Clean place.
They just have to upgrade the tv's.
I forgot to mention doctor Foglia GI surgeon it is the best doctor ever, caring, knowledgeable, professional, awesome doctor

the worst doctors, worst nurses, the worst emergency in this world, you can ask them so many time, they not answered your question, try to ignore me,the service is so bad. My daughter have high temperatures 103.i have ask them so many times give her some medicine, they said they all busy, I ask the other nurse to help, and she told me I have to wait my nurse, even she is so free, I mean what? The attitude is so bad.

It is understood that you have a lot of work to do but when you know your patient is diabetic and you know they are in pain and you still haven t taken any blood or a finger stick now that s wrong. I ve seen the doctor before Ive seen the nurses. That s ridiculous when it is suppose to be the other way around. This is why I say I rather die before going to a hospital. Plus an hour wait!! Like okay I guess we are going to have to get some lawyers involved because this is negligent af. Everyone is walking around and just checking the monitors. How about check my blood sugar ma am or sir. How about take some blood so we can get the ball rolling. #annoyed af

In shock with what I experienced. I came to this hospital thinking you ll be safe secure and cared to. Just expect the opposite when walking into this hospital.
Expect a 4-5 hour wait and thats only because I had to go to anyone and everyone to ask for help because my boyfriend kept vomiting blood for hours and was about to past out. Also expect rudeness and no careness in the world for patients. Every step of the way was a 2-3 hour wait, getting an x ray and a ct scan.
My boyfriend kept saying he s just gonna end up dying in the hospital. The fastest thing was when someone came asking about his insurance and job status. Which just shows they want to confirm money is in check before the patients own health.
Please avoid this hospital. Expected better New York Presbyterian
Also RNs taking smoke breaks before checking in on patients .It felt like dealing with mta employes no one wanted to help they all looked and ran the opposite direction.

It's a real hell hole going to the ER at this hospital. Came in with Adult son under dr recommendation for dehydration due to virus. He was left in hallway for 2 hours with a whole lineup of beds as well
During that time a nurse did an ekg out in the open in the hallway near the er entrance with everyone passing by. When he asked for a private area he was told only women get private space and for men they disrobe them out in the hallways. ..is this legal or sanitary and isnt it discriminatory to have such a policy. After 2 hours he was brought into the er room with a tiny space with no curtain available to close off during his exam. This is like being in a third world country. He asked for a flu test and was refused.

110% hard working staff but ER space is simply inadequate to process all the patients with immediacy, efficiency and focus. 9 hours on and off wait is not my type of ideal ER treatment and on a floating bed.

I went to the emergency room for head injury last year.

I was really pissed off by the attitude of 2 Asian ladies that work in the emergency room: One is working in the registration room; and the other one is working in another room inside the waiting area---- both of them treat patient in a very rude manner. I won't mention too much about the one that works in the registration room, I would specifically talk about the one that works inside the waiting area because I personally think she is the rudest one. After I have seen my doctor, done my CT scan, I was waiting in the waiting room for the final results. Well, after I've been waiting for about more than one hour (the time is almost 10PM), I wanted to find out how long I still had to wait before I got discharged. First I asked the security, she told me to go inside a room to ask for information where there were 2 people working in front of a computer. After hearing what I was concerning, the old black lady sitting near the door told me to ask the Asian lady further inside the room, which looks like some 16 year old girl from south east Asia. I asked her nicely when I can be discharged. But to my surprise, she gave me a really nasty look like I just owed her thousands of bucks, and said in a really condescending attitude: "Who are you? Why you here? Where're you from?"

ARE YOU F*ing KIDDING ME?

What is this, some kind of joke? are you checking a suspected criminal, Who taught you to ask patients this sort of rude and idiotic questions? What are you, a slave driver? Did your parents taught you to speak to people like that? Didn't your parents teach you some manner? You feed your superiority complex by talking down to patients this way?

Well I have to calmed my temper down and asked her again. she showed me some really nasty body language and said" you got a go to the front desk , bla bla ..... etc" I did not bother to argue with her at the time due to my headache, but rather I talked to the doctor that just saw me in the triage room.
luckily I got discharged by my doctor within 10 minutes.

I forgot to ask that lady's name at the time because I was in pain and also too upset but I am sure any one who visit Queens Hospital emergency room often should know whom I am talking about. I personally think she should be fired for having such rude&nasty attitude towards patient.

We went to NYHQ ER a little after midnight today, 12/26/2015.

My wife was diagnosed with gastritis the day before the visit to NYHQ ER and suddenly started suffering a severe pain in the back along with continuous abdominal pain.

She decided to take some tylenol and go to bed hoping the painkiller could help her to fall asleep. She went to the bathroom to urinate before bed and noticed a lot of blood on her underwear and continuous ongoing vaginal bleeding and that was why we decided to go to your ER.

There were patients waiting in the lounge as well as patients arriving after us. We understand some patients could be in more urgent conditions, but for a little less than 2 hours, she was pushed to the back of the queue until she became the last one in the waiting lounge eventually falling asleep and it was the security lady who called a nurse and sent us in finally.

It does not end here.

For like 15 minutes we had noone even asking her name nor how she was feeling. I cannot tell by uniforms/scrubs who were nurses who were not but there were a lot of staffs eating, talking, laughing but not even turning and looking at my wife once.

She had reached the limit, started crying and asked me if we could just leave. She left on her own feet and there were noone guiding us to the exit even though after advising us it might not be a good idea to leave if she is bleeding. What the hell.

If we knew if we had to wait that long, probably for 2~3 more hours I presume, we would have just waited in our warm bedroom, take some rest and visited the same doctor we went to see the day before in the morning.

Now we are home. She is still bleeding and if anything happens to her, they will have to pay dearly.

A friend of mine recommended NYHQ and I cannot understand why she did and we will not be visiting them ever again. NYHQ! Please take a little more care of your future patients so there will be no more patients left out in the cold lounge suffering pain and falling asleep waiting and shivering.

A very poor hospital, scheduled to go to the 8 o'clock surgery at 8 o'clock to prepare, and in the waiting room, a team. I finally waited until 11:30 and was told that a small emergency patient was inserted and waited another hour. However, after waiting for more than two hours, I went to a doctor and manager to apologize: another patient with hypertension needs to wait another hour and a half for about four hours to do surgery. I really don't know what will happen at four o'clock.

If I could give negative stars for service I would. The ONLY thing great about this hospital is the quality of their nursing staff. The rent a docs they have in the ER spend most of their time wandering around aimlessly from patient to patient and literally do nothing except say I will be back

If you think that you will get the kind of quality service you expect from NYP Manhattan, think again. You won t be treated as a human being. You will be left in the hallway for literally hours. You will ask someone for information and they won t be able to provide an answer. Again the nurses and techs here are WONDERFUL and make it possible to tolerate the endless hours of mindless waiting for someone to read a CT or call a surgical consult. The rent a docs don t even bother to EXAM YOU but I m sure they re billing Medicaid and Medicare for thousands of dollars in procedures.

It is now going on nine hours and so far the nurses and techs are trying to get answers. The docs? Nowhere to be found. Perhaps they re just dragging the time past midnight in order to bill for two days of care.

I am marching straight into my state Assemblyman s office in the morning- they re doing hearings on the state of hospital care. They need to know just how hospitals, especially this one, interprets that term.

From the ER staff to the OR on the 3rd floor to the day to day Nurses, all staff has been beyond amazing and caring. The surgeons and doctors I ve met have been so thorough and helpful. They truly have been making my experience nice and easy. I was told I need to stay here another week and I can t say that I mind. It s been comfortable and clean, the nutrition options are fairly broad and just overall, I m happy.

One if the nurses, had an attitude with me, I was waiting for a long time for my Kids medicine, and since i was sitting in the back, i decided to sit in the front to see if they would give me, and the nurse kicked me out saying we cant sit in the front, started saying i cant sit there, and told me to go back where i was. How disrespectful

My experience at this hospital was very negative. I came to the emergency room almost giving birth. My husband requested a wheelchair and they said they didn't have it. In the delivery room some of the nurses were very rude. Later, when I was in the room, my daughter was in a separate room because she was undergoing treatment for bilirubin. I had explained to them that the breastfeeding process was very difficult with my first child. A nurse brought me a glass and told me to express my milk because the girl needs to eat knowing what she had told all of them. I asked her for a breast pump and they told me they didn't have to use their hands to express my milk. The truth is that I do not recommend this hospital since my experience was very bad.

I like this hospital, friendly environment & most of the staff are good. But the emergency care should be more improved & good, they take a lot of time to start work on patient & the service is also ok type.

Hospitality, bedside manners, and most importantly...

Hospitality, bedside manners, and most importantly a sense of urgency - things that are completely lacking. Coming from a family that works in the medical industry in different hospitals this one takes the cake as one of the worst. My father suffered a stroke recently and because he had a past of alcoholism they wanted to wait FOUR hours, after the results of the blood test, before doing a cat scan. To top it off, the lack of knowledge (nurses asking for help from my cousin who is also a nurse at another hospital because they didn't know how to explain things) to the sense of urgency was outrageous. I would highly, highly recommend another hospital because this one is terrible and completely undeserving of the NY Presbyterian name.

I am a 28 Years old Paraplegic ( paralyzed from the waist down ) with spinal cord injury and surgery. I went to the emergency room on the date of 10/27/2017 with pain located on multiple parts of my body and problems breathing, including chest pain, vomiting, dizziness, headache among other symptoms. I had fallen from my chair hitting my back where surgery was done increasing my pain 20 times more than usual. I got to the ER exactly at 9PM and they did not even moved me inside to be seen by a doctor until almost 2AM next day. tests were done after that time.

Let me start with saying that this hospital has always be my go-to for any emergency needs and my daughter was born here. I also take my daughter to the Theresa Lang Clinic for children and have no complaints about the clinic. I recently visited the pedriatic emergency room because my daughter had 105 fever and an alarming cough. Luckily as soon as we came in we saw the triage nurse and passed through the front desk almost immediately. It wasn t until we were in the emergency room that we were extremely disappointed with the level of attention. The nurses and doctors were in no rush to get to us and after an hour of sitting there waiting to be called I finally got up and got the attention of one of the nurses who was kind enough to take my daughters vitals. I don t know if their lack of timeliness is because they lack staff or they simply are inconsiderate of others. When the doctor finally came around to see my daughter it was 4:30am. Since I arrived at 2am until 4:30 am my daughter was not given any medication for her fever. Not only that but the doctors instructed that she be given a nebulizing treatment and an x-Ray of her chest. Sure enough an hour and a half passed by before anyone came to set up the nebulizer. I had to call it to the attention or the nurse who blantaly admitted that the doctor never told her about the nebulizing treatment. This is extremely frustrating as it demonstrates the lack of communication going on in the ER which is incredibly alarming considering that in any emergency room nurses and doctors should be on the same page working hand in hand at all times. I understand that sometimes nurses and doctors do the best that they can but in this instance it did not feel that way. They were often posted behind the desks chatting discussing what was for lunch and giggling about things that had nothing to do with their patients. As a mother I m overwhlemed and concerned about my daughters incredibly high fever and it was aggrevating to hear the nurses and doctor discuss things irreverent to their field of work and that of their patients. It took another hour to get my discharge papers and by the time we were discharged it was 8am. The changes in shifts are NOT an excuse for incompetence. I will be seeking a way to file a formal complaint and then follow up. There was also a patient next to us (teenage girl) who was alone without a parent and had been admitted after my daughter and was not seen or checked on by neither the nurses or any other staff for more than an hour! I thought that was dispicable and was really the last straw. The lack of attention and consideration for patients from the night shift staff was very disappointing and there needs to be changes. If my daughter had gone any longer without fever reducing medication she could have suffered from much worse ailments because of their negligence. No one cares what you re having for lunch!!!!!! Do your job!!! For the sake of the patients! New supervisement is required!!!

I took my six-month baby to the surgery. Everyone in the hospital was very friendly and enthusiastic, except for a nurse named "qing he". She didn't smile a little and asked her questions about how to take care of her baby after surgery. She wouldn't patiently answer, I need to ask at least three times. It may be that my baby's pain after surgery has been crying, so she lost her patience and even rushed us home. She has a bad attitude towards me. I can accept it, but I can't accept it. When she pulled the needle from my baby's foot, it was very rude. She didn't hold the needle. When she peeled off the tape, the needle was rude together. Ripped off, the baby's blood spouted from the leg and stayed on the ground, leaving it on my trousers, on the shoes, on the ground, a lot. The baby who just comforted and fell asleep began to crash and cried, which made my heart hurt. When I asked her why she was doing this, she was very rude to quarrel with me. I have already complained to her boss and have not received any apologies from her. I was really disappointed that the nurse lost the morality, self-cultivation and patience that she should have as a nurse. I am not an unreasonable person, not a person who likes to find trouble. The practice of this nurse made me intolerable. I think she is taking my child out.
