On May 8, 2020, we purchased a new 2020 Subaru Outback through Christian Carreon. Although there are other Subaru dealers nearer our location, we found Christian very helpful and courteous when we had earlier stopped by and chose to work with him. The negotiating and purchasing experience was very pleasant and professional!

Recently we noticed the vent fan for the driver s seat was on occasion intolerably loud, so we scheduled a warranty appointment with service. I brought our car in and was met by Wally Pettengill, a service advisor. Wally handled the process of bringing the car into the shop and while I waited in the waiting area, kept me continuously updated on the progress of the repair. When it was clear the part wouldn t arrive until late in the day delaying the repair until Friday, Wally offered a loaner. I drove home but was pleasantly surprised to get a call from Wally that our car was ready late on Thursday. I drove back early Friday morning to find that since Wally would not be in, he had coordinated my loaner return and pickup of our car with Maggie. Maggie brought our car to the service area, and I found technician Justin Steel had kept the interior spotless but with a fan that no longer made noise, a great relief.

From turning in our car, through the replacement of the fan, through picking up my car, I was treated in a friendly and respectful manner. I was kept informed of progress throughout and never had to ask what was happening. From buying through servicing, this was a great experience.

We accidentally left our garage opener in a rental and we called THE DAY WE RETURNED it to let them know we had forgotten it and was told we could pick it up in the morning. Fast forward to trying to go pick up our opener turns out they LOANED OUT THE CAR WITH OUR OPENER IN IT ALREADY!. I'm beyond pissed. We were looking for a 2017 impreza which our credit wouldn't allow but they got us into a car We loved and we were able to get lower payments then expected. I just had the best experience buying a new car. Cliff, John and Frank worked so hard for us. They almost had me in tears with their generosity. I never once felt like they were just trying to sell us a car to make a sale. I actually felt kinda guilty with how much they were able to bring the cost down for us. We will always be buying our cars from them.

Wow, getting my Subaru serviced here was a nightmare. I made an appointment for a Saturday at 9am. They said they had no notes for what they were doing for my vehicle, even though I received an appointment reminder earlier that week with notes in the email. I explained what I needed done including purchasing new tires and fixing a loose control arm that I had two separate mechanics tell me (and show me) was loose. It took 45 minutes for them to enter these requests into the system. They said they were on a new system but gosh, 45 minutes just to check in! Then, they said the control arm wasn't loose. I asked them to look again, and they found that it was loose. They also said they couldn't fix my flat tire or replace my tires that day, and I would have to come back on Monday to get the work done. Because they were on a new system, they couldn't make an appointment or confirm times. I was at the dealership from 9-2:30 for them to do nothing to my car except "diagnose" the issue I TOLD them about in both the appointment and verbally.

I returned Monday to have them put new tires on and replace the control arm, and they said they likely wouldn't be able to finish it. I was there for 5 hours. They completed everything but it was a huge inconvenience and time suck. I will not be returning for maintenance on my vehicle.

I had a somewhat confusing and unpleasant experience while shopping for a 2017 WRX. I had been shopping around for quite some time and had compiled quite the amount of notes and price quotes from different dealers for both new and used WRX.

Given that the depreciation on the WRX follows a really standard curve unlike other manufacturers I decided to buy new. The best price quote I got was from Hueberger Motors in Colo Springs but that is further than I cared to drive. Mike Shaw is just a few blocks away and I like supporting my local business so I called them. A pleasant receptionist answered the phone and I said that I was looking to buy a WRX today and that it looked like the model and color I wanted were in stock. I told her that I had a quote from Hueberger (in writing) and I wanted to know if they would meet it. She said "we will be able to meet or beat that quote."

So off I went. I walked in and was greeted by Jamie. She was pleasant and asked what I was looking for. I let her know at the beginning what my situation was and that I was looking to buy a car today and what I wanted. Additionally I told her what I was looking to spend on the car and what I had been quoted by Hueberger and would they price miatch. She said yes and we went to the lot and the car I was looking for wasn't there. She recommended a couple of the other models and was a little pushy but hey I told her I was looking to buy today so I can't blame her as I've worked in sales before and I know when to push and when not to. We came back inside and she spoke to Ricky and together they looked for the car I had seen in the online inventory and sure enough located it.

I said I definitely want to buy this car and we returned to Jamie's office where she began filling out paperwork for credit, insurance, etc. She also asked me for the price quote I had received from Hueberger which I forwarded to her. She asked her team lead for assistance in printing my forwarded quote and he looked at and helped her print it. Then she asked me how much I wanted to put down on the car. I told her that I was going to do mostly cash and finance the rest. That was when things took a turn for the worse.

She took the printed copies and said she was going to run my credit. She returned no less than 120 seconds later and said "my manager said he won't meet this price quote and will only sell it at the invoice price."

I. Was. Shocked. I said "thank you for your time but I will have to say goodbye," and bid both her and Ricky good day. I stopped in the doorway and said "Really? The invoice price is it?" and she reiterated "Yes."

I work in retail sales. I completely understand the need to sell for profit. If the price Hueberger had offered me made it so that Mike Shaw selling the car would put them upside down on the sale it completely makes sense for them not to sell it to me. I had no problem with that. Here are the things I did have a problem with:

1. I asked two people if they would price match with Hueberger and they both said yes. A third person (her team lead) looked at the price quote and said nothing. Now all of a sudden the not only won't meet that price quote but...

2. They won't even change the invoice price... the same price that I would get at literally any other Subaru dealership and a price point that is available within a single google search. Additionally I gave the name of the Subaru dealership to all parties concerned and if they knew they couldn't meet that price why were they wasting my time?

3. I get that financing the car is important for a seller's bottom line, but it wasn't until I said I was going to put a large amount of cash down that Jamie disappeared and reappeared in two minutes flat to say "no sale."

4. Why did anybody say "yes we will price match" if the answer is obviously "no we won't price match, especially because you aren't financing?"

In the end it was just a very confusing process that resulted in no less than 3 people wasting their time entirely for an hour.

After test driving numerous vehicles and deciding on a Subaru CrossTrek, I compared the prices at nine different Denver metro Subaru dealerships. Mike Shaw not only had the best price, but they did not try to add any strange fees or weird extras into the cost. The price they quoted to me was the price I paid, and they even hunted all over the state to find me the color I wanted! Great experience with Cliff and the whole Mike Shaw team, and weeks later, they still reach out to see if I have any questions about my new ride (which I love).

Went in for a regular service, and also to have a remote start system installed. There was an issue surrounding an incorrect part for the remote start due to a typo from subaru, and as a result my car would not be ready until the next day. My service advisor Stephen Cadwallader got me a free loaner car and did everything he could to make it as painless as possible, and made my convenience his top priority. My service has been excellent every time I've been in, and Mike Shaw Subaru will always be my preferred dealer and service provider.

I paid for a bundle that I was not made aware of. That I take part of the blame for, but I'm sad I didn't get to take advantage of my "free" maintenance. That being said I went into service my vehicle and they then informed me I had a couple maintenance check ups that I could get before my bundle expired. They were very helpful when we all realized I had been missing out!

UPDATED BELOW: Went to look at Subaru Outback models and used inventory. Worked with Tevon Vara. This salesperson knows his stuff. He could recite dimensions, stats, model year differences, and all without any salesman "B.S.". I think he was honest and helpful and did a great job. When it came to negotiation, he was incredibly neutral and helpful and willing to go to bat for us. We settled on a price pending an outside inspection, i think this ruffled some feathers. My contracted inspection went great except the battery was RIP. This is where it goes downhill fast. I assumed regardless of our offer and purchase that they are going to need to replace the battery to sell it. And if the "thorough" incoming used car inspection is done properly, wouldn't not being able to start the car be an easy catch. I heard the service dept had some concerns, but if they can't catch the dead battery, what else will they miss, like safety features. Heck, they could have thrown a old used battery that still had life in it before the inspection, and i would still have bought it. I'm surprised they would risk reputation over a $100 battery that they should have caught and replaced anyways. UPDATE, They replaced the battery. BUT THEN: I discussed upfront the entire time an "out the door" price, was very clear no fees or any additional dealer charges. They expressed there is only one fee that they have to charge separately, regardless. Some federal fee amounting to $27.20. Fine. Sat down to sign off and pay, SURPRISE Dealer Handling Fee of $600. That was unprofessional. Likely the last time i visit their facility.

Had a really great experience at Mike Shaw Subaru. I set up an appointment to test drive a car and it was waiting for me (with my name in the window) when I arrived. Cliff was very knowledgeable and made the process go smoothly. He even bought lunch for me and my wife as we waited for all the paperwork to be completed.

I cannot say enough good things about this Subaru!! You will not regret making this your shop that you take your car to regularly, like me! Not only do I always get in when I want to with my car, but the service techs are always very friendly and professional. We recently had an experience where our brakes were done terribly at Meineke. We kept bringing it back to Meineke and they couldn t find/fix the problem. The brakes were making a really loud grinding noise every time we braked (didn t sound safe). So we took our car to Subaru to get a 2nd opinion and they fit us in right away to look at the brakes. After a lot of fighting with Meineke they finally agreed to pay Subaru to fix our car. Subaru, specifically the service manager Todd, was SO helpful in this entire process. He gave a discount so that Meineke would agree to pay to get the work done for us. He dealt directly with the district manager at Meineke to handle the payment, rather than going through us. Subaru did the work very fast for us, and did a great job. The brakes are working perfectly and feel great now! We regret ever trying to take our car elsewhere, and will only be going to Subaru moving forward.

I bought my Forester here in early 2015. Been using the service department there for all oil changes/services over the years. The only thing that ever needed to be replaced were windshield wipers and tires. Until this summer - then the AC started acting up. I went in for service on that problem today and Tim D. helped me out in the service department. They replaced a part using a warranty - even though the car is 4.5 years old and at 60,000 miles.

The service I've recieved here today and over the years has been excellent. Highly recommended! When I'm ready for a new car in the future, I know I'll be going back there as well.

This is a revision to my previous review: I have been going to Mike Shaw for almost 10 years. I bought tires from them 18 months ago. Then recently I had a slow leak in one of my tires so I took it in to Mike Shaw for them to fix. After waiting over an hour for Mike Shaw to troubleshoot, they told me it was a nail puncture that couldn't be fixed. They ordered me a replacement tire, put the spare on my car and told me to come back in a few days when the new tire was available. When I returned I waited almost an hour for them to tell me that the tire they ordered was not quite the same and that tire model had been discontinued. Therefore, I was going to have to replace ALL four tires. Instead I went to Discount to have them fix my tire at no cost and only 20 minute wait time.
I think the dealerships just has a more conservative view on when a tire is unrepairable. Overall, I do like going to Mike Shaw. They are expensive and services take longer than Grease Monkey or Discount, but they do a good job.
I returned to Mike Shaw to have them correct a crossthreaded lugnut and rotate my tires.They were able to do the work at no cost.

This is 3rd family vehicle that has been purchased from Mike Shaw and the 2nd through Keith Traczynski and I wouldn't go back for anyone else! The process of buying a new car can be stressful and Keith makes it anything but that. He listens to your wants and needs for your vehicle and gives you the best options to choose from and many to choose from as well. He is extremely helpful and one of the best car salesmen I have ever worked with. In less than 3 hours I got to view multiple cars of my choice, test drive the top choices and was able to make an incredible deal and walk away with my new car the same night. There is no better feeling than having a car salesman like Keith who doesn't just push you to buy the best and most expensive car for his benefit; he is all about the customers and what will be best for them. I couldn't have asked for a better experience!

Rob Oja at Mike Shaw Subaru made shopping for a new car easy and as stress-free as possible! We were interested in a new Forester Sport and Rob helped us get exactly what we wanted. Our previous vehicle was over 12 years old, so I had no idea how any of the new electronic features worked. Rob was great at explaining them all to me without making me feel stupid or silly for asking questions. He was patient with us while we got all of our financing and down payment in order and truly made the whole experience as easy as possible. He also went above and beyond to get me the color I wanted (Dark Blue Pearl) when the vehicle they had in that color was dealer traded to another dealership. When we need our next vehicle I'll definitely be giving him a call!

My experience in bringing the vehicle in to Mike Shaw (where I actually purchased the vehicle as well) has me convinced that I should bring my car into see them for any service. We recently purchased our third car (over the last decade) from Mike Shaw Subaru and this experience was as thoroughly pleasant as the two prior.

The sales staff at Mike Shaw are extremely knowledgeable about their product lines, features and what vehicles they have in stock. They are also excellent at understanding the needs of their customers and provide insight for them relevant to their needs. The do not push their customers to upgrade at each turn like many dealerships.

Price negotiations are reasonable. The folks at Mike Shaw understand that providing their customers with the best possible outcome creates repeat customers. They treat people well and their customers keep coming back when they need a new vehicle.

The financing process was smooth, pleasant and quick. By showing customers what options are available (warranties, etc.) they are assuring customer satisfaction, not encouraging the price of the sale to increase. We felt cared for and respected throughout the process.

Delivery was quick and smooth. Our sales professional thoroughly explained every feature of the car and checked repeatedly to make sure we didn't have any unresolved questions before taking delivery of our new car.

Two of the last three times I visited the dealership they had a cookout running and were serving customers and staff members hamburgers and hot dogs. Our sales representative told us that the management recognizes how busy it can get at the dealership and wants to keep both customers and staff members happy (and fed) without having to leave the dealership. This is a great example of how Mike Shaw is focused on making the car purchase process excellent for all parties involved.

We will undoubtedly continue to frequent this store whenever we need to purchase a vehicle!

My experience with mike Shaw s was not a planned one. My 2010 outback had some trouble on I-70 and had to be towed to a shop. After calling around everywhere was swamped, and unfortunately could not check it in until the day of. However, Shaw s was busy as well but allowed me to bring my car & Stowe it until they could look at it (which was a few days) she had warned. Soon as I arrived I was greeted by a smiling Ashely G. She was helping another already, once she was free she assisted me with check in and hooking me up with a free loaner (WHAT!?!?!). They were super fast in diagnosing my ride and to no prevail they brought the worst news in a cushioned Tap. My outback was burnt toast and needed way more to fix it than it was currently worth (which was expected).They allowed me a few days to weigh out my options with no pushy phone calls on when the loaner would be back or deals on new cars. They listened to me and satisfied my needs, in one of the best experiences I ve had as far as disasters and dealerships go. Tim the service manager took the time to make sure my messages got to whom they needed and assisting me when no one was available. I dealt with Shane, one of the sales men and he made me feel welcome from the start. It was his day off and made a trip in to close the deal for me and really did go the extra step to just make my experience stress free. I would gladly recommend this dealership and Shane to anyone who wants a great car buying experience. Shout out to josh as well for putting up with the phone calls on payment issues, gotter done. We Purchased a 2006 Subaru Tribeca on March 19, 2006 from Mike Mullen. Mike is a very professional sales person. The car was exactly the way Mike describe it. It was a pleasure having such a nice sales person.

Reserved an appointment online to change the oil and swap out the summer rims/tires for the winter ones, but when I got there there were 5-10 other people in front of me, idk however many had a reservation let alone before me. Seems like they didn t preserve the reservation though; They were super busy and didn t start on my car until an hour and a half after checking in.
I had to leave cuz they were taking forever and when I came back they didn t even put the winter tires on and now as I am writing this I am waiting for them to put them on. The attendant was slightly apologetic for the flub, but didn t seem too sincere but he did offer to fix it shortly.
I ve also been to Flatirons Subaru and let me tell you they are much faster, friendlier, and do the job right. Even though I live closer to Mike Shaw Subaru, I will definitely be taking my car to Flatirons Subaru from now on. And if you have the time, I highly suggest the same.

Update: Removing 1 star They couldn t find the TPS sensors in the wheels even though I bought the wheels and rims and sensors new at a different Subaru dealer. So it looks like I ll have to go to Flatiron Subaru anyways to patch up their mistake. What a mess for a relatively simple job.

I had a remarkable experience. They worked very hard to understand our unique situation and were sure to meet our needs rather than trying to convince us to buy a particular car. This is the third time we've worked with Mike Shaw because they know their product. Their salespeople are thoughtful and the GM was sure to check on us to be sure we were getting our needs met. From start to finish I felt comfortable --not always the case with car dealerships. Finally, since they told us ahead of time what we'd need we were able to be prepared with necessary paperwork saving valuable time.

I really appreciate Mike Mullen. He was very patient with me, worked around my schedule, and gave me the opportunity to test drive every car I needed to without hesitation, and was eager to help. He answered all of my questions, and explained everything in great detail.

The whole process was easy, exciting and fun. I was able to really narrow it down, and find the right vehicle that fit all of my needs and wants and I drove off in my new car feeling excited, happy and confident with my purchase. I really owe that to Mike Mullen for taking all of the time I needed to be there to guide me through it. Thank you Mike! Also, there was another man that helped us one day too, I can t remember his name. He was a younger man that was sitting at the front desk on June 17th, in the evening right before you guys were closing. He got us set up to test drive one of the cars there and he was very helpful, and friendly. The last interaction I had was the finance guy that helped, which I also can t remember his name, (so much information to process) was good about explaining the options before signing all the paperwork. Very patient and friendly. No one was pushy, but extremely consistent and I could tell they were passionate about what they do and were very professional.

So glad to come here for my car shopping experience. After the runaround for 24 hours at other dealerships and poor sales techniques I decided to drive over to Mike Shaw Subaru. They had me lined up with Jamie Chu when I arrived and from the beginning, I could tell she gets car shoppers. I was bluntly honest about how I had approved financing, needed to drive the car off the lot in 4 days with a 2 day trip out of town during that period, and the condition of my trade-in (past accident). Within 1 hour we had a negotiated deal with a value for my vehicle that made me happy and a cost on the new Subaru that was great based on the demand for the vehicles. When I arrived back at the dealership Thursday to pick everything up Jamie was awesome, the car was ready and waiting with the accessory I negotiated into the sale. I was pulling out of the dealership within 30 minutes of getting there while also getting an in-depth training on the many controls the car offers. In the long run I feel no one loves to buy a car and haggle, but I look forward to hopefully a 2nd vehicle down the road from Jamie and the Mike Shaw Subaru team.
