I'm incredibly disappointed with my experience at Mike Shaw.

There was a miscommunication between us (myself & boyfriend) and the sales person regarding pricing, which did make us feel very misled.

However, that is not the issue I have.

Their "sales manger" Brandon, I believe was his name, came in to try and help the situation and when he came in, he only introduced himself to my boyfriend and continued the conversation.

Not only did he not acknowledge me in anyway, but when I had to stick my hand out to introduce myself he asked "oh is this for FOR you?" Then went back to speaking to only my boyfriend.

The blatant lack of respect they showed me was atrocious. After I explained the issues, he lied straight to my face and told me the lowest they could go on the car was $25,595 even though the internet price was $24,500. When we brought this to his attention, he said "I guess we can honor that price"

I took my trade in and $20,000 cash to AutoNation Subaru and I highly suggest that if you are in the market for a Subaru, you do the same.

I live 5 minutes from Mike Shaw, and I felt better driving 30 minutes to Centennial to conduct business with people who respected and valued my business.

I try to give every dealership the benefit of the doubt, since they can get bad reputations, but the absolute lack of respect is where I cross the line.

We recently purchased a 2020 Outback from Mike Shaw Subaru, our second new car from this dealer. While I love the car, I must say the experience of purchasing it was not anything different from our first purchase 11 years ago -- it was the same ol' car dealership experience everyone dreads: back and forth on price, back and forth with the 'manager' to see if they can do better, wrong tax percentage listed on the sale quote, back to the manager. When I was first researching the Outback online, I emailed for over 30 minutes to make sure the model/color I wanted was on the lot before making an appointment for a test drive. The appointment was absolutely pointless. We arrived on time (4p) but the person the appointment was scheduled with was unavailable, so we waited for a different salesperson (Eric). After about 45 minutes, they were able to locate the car I was interested in and set up the test drive. We decided to purchase the car, and that's when the waiting began. We were paying cash (which no incentive was offered, in fact, Eric said 'We make more money on the car if you finance') with a trade in. We then proceeded to wait in the lobby with many other people -- the entire point of the appointment was to try to manage social distancing -- I did not see anyone clean the lobby, doors, reception desk, etc. the entire time we were there. Which was about 4 hours. By the time we had finally seen the finance guy to pay and turn over trade in title, we were out of patience and told Eric we would return to review the features of the car (which we never did due to I had no faith that would be a quick visit). I guess it wasn't possible to be shown the features why we waited...
I also had to call Mike Shaw Subaru to see why I had not received a Title Complete notice from the DMV yet. I was told by their Title department that they had been unable to reach me to confirm the address to send the paperwork to. They had been calling an old work number I'd not had for years. I confirmed the address and they sent me the paperwork -- they send to the new owner, who then must send to the DMV. Now I need a second temporary tag due to the extreme back up at the DMV for COVID. Called three times yesterday at 8a, couldn't even get an operator to pick up. Finally got through after 2 call today and left a message with the Title person with questions on how to get a second temporary tag.
Bottom line -- don't expect a fun, easy car buying experience just because they tout how they are taking all these extra steps -- because you're going to get the old fashioned, hurry up and wait while we wear you down until you pay more experience of the 'old days'.

Bought another Subaru from Mike Shaw Subaru. Mike Shaw is the place to buy. Cliff is the best person to work with on deciding and buying a car. Cliff made sure we found the right car for us and stayed within our budget. Everything was presented to us up front so there were no surprises before signing. We had an awesome experience during the whole process. Look Cliff up for buying a car at Mike Shaw. You won't be disappointed.

I am quite shocked to see that a customer has had a bad experience at Mike Shaw Subaru. My experience, specifically with Keith Traczynski, was beyond superb. Keith was pleasantly persistent with our communication and truly earned my business. I had a terrible experience with another local dealer and after explaining this to him he went above and beyond to put me in the car that I wanted for the best price in town. Keith is honest and respectful, yet cautious and particular in the way he treats his customers and conducts business. He was straightforward and to the point, and had no interest in giving me a bad deal. Mind you, all of this was after a recent medical operation. For as long as I am in the Denver area, I will not do business with any other dealership or sales consultant because I know that my time will be respected and I will get great service. Anyone given the opportunity to do business with Keith is going to be taken care of and his services should be sought out by anyone looking to make a Subaru purchase. If you go on a Saturday, you may even get a hotdog or hamburger for lunch!

I had a great experience while looking at cars at your location. Eric Grimm was very friendly and knowledgeable. He made my shopping experience very easy and he made me feel very comfortable. I am not quite ready to purchase a vehicle yet but when I am, I will definitely be returning to your location and without a doubt will be asking for Eric.

Amazing! I came in for my 30,000 mile service late in the afternoon as I wasn't aware of how long this service typically takes. The service team went above and beyond to not only ensure that the 30k service was done, but also that it was done by the time I needed to leave the dealership! I always have a great experience when I bring my car in for a service and I really appreciate the team at Mike Shaw!

If I could give my experience zero stars, I would. I made a 1 pm appointment on the phone (not Internet) for an urgent recall on my Outback (had to wait 5 weeks for said appointment). Arrived to be informed that they would need to drain 1/4 tank of gas to get level to 1/2 tank full. I was not informed of this when I made my appointment. I was also not informed ahead of time that my 1 pm appointment time was for arrival/check in only. I would need to wait for an available bay for service. I did not leave your dealership until 3:30 pm, which meant the entire process took 2.5 hours for a 1 hour and 10 minute recall fix. EXTREMELY disappointed in your level of service.

I have been taking my car to Mike Shaw Subaru for a few years now. Previously I had been to other dealers thoughout CO, but these guys are by far the best! Their customer service is excellent (Stephen is the best!!), they are great at explaining things, and I always feel confident that they are taking good care of my car. I also never feel pressured by them when getting my car serviced. I will continue to come here for years to come!

Great customer service. I have always been a Toyota guy. Of all the Toyota dealerships in this area, I ve been yanked around by all of their service departments. Not here at Mike Shaw Subaru. I was having some bad engine noises and dropped by unannounced. They were slammed and told me the next available appointment wasn t for a few weeks. But one of the service managers (Andrew), took time to listen to my car and address the issue. He took me back into the shop to talk to the tech (Tyler) who was also very friendly, knowledgeable, and offered great advice. I will continue to come back to Mike Shaw for this reason. Thanks for a great customer experience.

This location has great snacks and coffee that people like and all but service is very horrible. Car service is not what you want your car you paid a lot for to go to. For my past two visits, we have 2 cars that have been serviced and drove off the lot. With trust, we bring our brand new cars in for maintenance (covered by the maintenance plan) and we get nothing but problems. First, they forget to put oil in one of the cars and we drove off without knowing. The inspection they print out for you after each visit has a list of all the things they check for. We were told everything was checked and all is good right? But carelessly, someone forgot to check if the car has oil in it. But I thought you guys check everything before you give it back to the customer? Oops! Came back to find out that the tech put the wrong amount of oil inside my vehicle which came out to be nothing. Second time, we took another car in and came for a simple oil change too (that we pay for maintenance plan for) and drove off with loose screw and an oil leakage that got all over the engine and belts making the car smell like it s burning and causing it to smoke. Something must be wrong or someone isn t doing a good job. 50/50 chance of getting horrible maintenance service, and it was 2 out of 2 times we did. Never coming back to this location for service. If you work hard for you money and care about you vehicle , DONT BRING IT HERE ! Youre welcome

So I go in to buy a used car. Not sure exactly what I'm looking for but I have a budget. I'm met at the door by a nice young guy and we chat and start walking around the lot. He knows my budget and the first few cars we look at are great but upon further conversation are twice my budget. So we go inside to look at the computer system and along the way I ask a few questions about some of the older models and I realize he knows nothing about Subarus and just started here but he's nice and honest and asks follow workers some of my questions and we move on. Once inside it becomes clear that they really don't have anything in my budget but salesman 1 says he's gonna go look at anything they just got in and comes back with salesman 2. Salesman 2 is a seasoned car selling vet and knowledgeable but much more aggressive then Salesman 1. So #2 puts keys to a Hyundai in my hand and tells me to drive it. Now I know I don't want a Hyundai but rather then argue I test drive it and say it's not for me. I tell him again my budget and he thinks he can work a used Crosstrek for me. I say ok and they take my keys to check out my trade in. That's when salesman 1 comes in with a document he says I have to sign for them to check out my car. Seems reasonable and then he adds "and go forward with the deal if the terms are agreeable". I reluctantly sign it.

Now #2 gives me keys to a crosstrek to test drive. I do so and like it and when I get back to the office he shows me a deal for about %25 over my budget. I tell him I might be able to do it but I need to check my accounts. I do so and have a little less then I thought but it's still a possibility. They come back with my trade in value which is lower then I expected so now I can't afford it even more then before. But number 2 goes with the old "What can I do to put you in this car today" routine. His tone changes and he's getting aggressive. I try to back out but he insists I give him and number to hit so I do. He goes to "the bosses" and comes back higher then the number. I try to nicely back out again. He keeps pointing to the paper signed saying "What about these terms are not agreeable?" I tell him I just don't think I can afford that multiple times. Meanwhile number 1 is holding my keys looked scarred he's gonna loose his first ever sale and all I want to do is leave. I have to talk my way out of it for the next ten minutes before my keys are handed back to me and I leave.

THESE TYPES OF TACTICS ARE EXACTLY WHY PEOPLE HATE CAR SALESMAN. And I wanted a Subaru so now I'm gonna go to a different dealer that isn't gonna push me around.

It's sad to say that my experience with Mike Shaw ...

It's sad to say that my experience with Mike Shaw Subaru Service was less than satisfactory. I took my car in for an oil change three or so weeks ago and specifically asked to have them look at the brakes on the car. They told me that every time a car was brought in for service they checked brakes and so when I picked it up I again asked how the brakes looked and they said they were fine, no problems. Last week I noticed the brakes were squeaking and took it in to have it looked at. I made an appointment for Saturday and they said they were not able to get it back to me until Monday, however, I did not receive a call until Tuesday. To their credit, they did give me a loaner. When they called on Tuesday evening, they said I needed all four brake pads and my rotors machined. There is no possible way that the brakes would have been worn down that drastically within the span of three weeks. Obviously they did not do the inspection I asked for and they claimed to have performed. Needless to say, I am very disappointed in the lack of character shown by the crew at the service center and now question whether I can trust them to perform any further repairs on my vehicles.

Sincerely,
Daniel Archuleta

I am very happy with the treatment at Mike Shaw Subaru. My wife bought out her lease and I traded in my WRX for a Forester XT lease. I will say the initial trade in offer on my WRX was ~2.5x lower than I felt to be a reasonable trade value, but we were able to negotiate to something that I thought was fair and complete both my wifes purchase and my trade/lease at the same time. Cliff, the sales person that assisted us was very nice and was never pushy - just tried to make the deals right for us. I also paid for a tint and clear bra on the Forester which were both done flawlessly. The service department schedule was kept and completed within the timeframe they stated, which is definitely not something I can say for other dealerships I have dealt with. My wife and I are very happy with our treatment at this dealership as well as the vehicles with which we drove away from the lot.

I recently purchased a new vehicle at Mike Shaw Subaru and couldn t be happier with the experience. I was greeted by Kieth Traczynski, who was both incredibly helpful and knowledgeable when it came to the stock both on hand and in transit. He showed me what they had on the lot, explained the models and features available, and was able to get me into a beautiful car within a short period of time. He was very kind, patient, insightful and was a pleasure to do business with. I would highly recommend stopping by Mike Shaw Subaru and if possible getting in touch with Keith if you are interested in picking up a vehicle there.

Steven in the service department was very helpful and thoughtful. Had to shell out a fairly large sum right before Christmas and he did what he could to provide a small discount without being prompted. I was provided a loaner car for the day and when I couldn't make it back to pick up my car at the end of the day, I was allowed to keep the loaner until the next morning. Overall helpful and friendly staff.

Went in looking to buy either a BRZ or and Sti just wanted to compare the cars by driving them. Was told we can't test drive the cars.. now that's my major basis behind purchasing a vehicle. Especially one that is around $40,000. You're going to want to drive it. Experience it. Get a feel for it. Before you buy!! I just left. Cash in hand. Your loss Mike shaw.

The day before a cross-country trip, we learned that the tires needed to be changed in the Impreza. We panicked. We called Mike Shaw's and Wally immediately told us he'd take care of it asap and to come on down. We went, and he was so kind and fast. He found Bryce, who was ready to go home, but stayed just to help us. We are so grateful to Wally and Bryce. We can now start packing and feel confident we'll make it on the road. THANK YOU WALLY AND BRYCE!

Steven in the service department helped me to give one of the best Christmas present to my wife ever for her beloved XV Crosstrek. He helped me with ensuring the new feature she wanted added to her car would be a total surprise on Christmas Day AND recommend much needed maintenance on the car that will help ensure her crosstrek is in good working condition for years to come! They arranged for a ride home and picked me up on time when the work was finished. Thank you Steven and the entire
service team at Mike Shaw Subaru. We own two Subaru 's and will be back for service on them for years to come!!

As far as car dealers go, this is the best one I have ever been to. As a woman, I've had some pretty bad experiences, and I've purchased a lot of cars. I've even used an auto broker in the past, and I ended up finding a better car for my daughter than they did! When I bought my car, I was SO impressed with the customer service here! Because I live down south, and this dealer is far for me (found them on the Internet on a specific car), I actually went to the other Subaru dealer on Arapahoe for something after I bought my Forester (that ended up nothing was wrong, according to them), and they drove my car SO hard it ruined my gas mileage average drastically and drained my gas by a half a tank! I was very upset, but they didn't care. I told my original sales guy at this dealer about the experience there, and he mailed me a $25 gas card to make up for their lack of response! And it was a totally different dealer! The dealerships are franchised, so they're like McDonald's restaurants - independently owned & operated - and my sales guy didn't have to do anything, but he did just to take care of me as a customer, even though they didn't cause the problem! Anyway, I got a great price on my car, fantastic service, and I will be a life-long customer! There is no better customer service out there, especially from a car dealer! Go see Keith Traczynski at Mike Shaw Subaru, and he will take excellent care of you! He is the very best there is, trustworthy, patient and kind, and you'll get an awesome deal!

Dishonest dealership. Called to check availability...

Dishonest dealership. Called to check availability of a specific used car I found on their website. I spoke with Karline Kerman who, before confirming availability inquired if it was just that car I was looking for. I said it was just that car and that car only. Karline then assured me it was available and made an appointment for me to test drive it. I asked if she knew where it was located on the lot in case I arrived early I would drive around and check it out. She replied that right now it was between two other cars in a section that was three deep but that they d get it pulled out for me. Upon arrival it was clear the car I had an appointment to see was not in fact available anymore. It had been 30 minutes since she confirmed it was but after getting to the dealership for my appointment and stating three times I wasn t interested in any other cars I was told the car had already been sent to auction. They also mentioned the car would stay marked as available online until Monday at the earliest? Bottom line, if a dealership will lie about availability (it s currently parked between two cars) to get you to their lot over a two thousand dollar used Jetta then they surely shouldn t be trusted selling you a new car or being trusted with your maintenance
