I can't say enough good things for Mercy Medical during my experience
I had an appointment on 07/08 for a full knee replacement with Dr Marc Hungerford. We arrived just before 5:30 am the security guard was pleasant the staff who checked me in was on point, the nurses in the back who I met to get prepped for my surgery were more then pleasant, everyone who came in the room to discuss the procedure verified everything that was going to be done, OR nurses and staff were friendly
Dr Lin my Anastesiologist explained in detail what to expect before and after surgery.I got into recovery by 10:00 am and was in my room by 11:00 the floor Nurse Colbie was exceptional with bedside manners. The PT staff described what they felt needed to be done and it was done with out any force, even down to the food servers who were excellent, Michelle the PA came in the next day and went over everything again as to what to expect and i will say all my expectations were met and never once did I feel I was just a patient filling a bed. I will only speak highly of my experience at Mercy Medical Staff Thank You to all

In March of 2013, my 74 year old mother had to drive from the eastern shore to Mercy for a cancer surgery. Dr. Im and his team was exceptionally professional and thorough while still making my mother and family feel that her comfort was of the utmost importance.
The entire staff on the cancer ward were overly kind and went out of their way to accommodate my mother in every possible way.
Given the treatment plan and care Dr. Im gave to my mother, as well as, his ability to speak to us in terms we could understand, I would recommend him and Mercy Medical Center to anyone looking for an oncologist with his specialty.
They certainly lived up to their responsibility as a religious institute. The facilities were clean and were ran with not only efficiency, but with compassion as well.

We had a horrific experience with labor and delivery. My wife had an emergency c section and the doctor lacerated her cervix without knowing it . After being sewed back up, my wife had to convince a nurse to check for bleeding. Turns out she was bleeding to death right in front of them and they didn't even notice . It was almost too late. On top of that, the anastesologist who was at the end of a 12 hour shift made a mistake with the epidural resulting in a leaking of spinal fluid. She couldn't sit up for a month. There seemed to be constant confusion, lack of communication between departments, and missinformation every step of the way. Nurses in training we're not qualified and had to be corrected by my wife multiple times. We will never return to this department again .

I showed up at 5:30am on Monday 3/9 for cervical disk replacement surgery at Mercy Medical Center. I was under the care of Dr Charles Edwards II. Every member involved on the Mercy team were caring, comforting and kind! After surgery my care in the recovery room was was fantastic. I was then wheeled up to my room for my overnight stay so that I can be monitored and given proper meds and care for my after surgery recovery. Once again the Mercy team of nurses, techs, assistants, food service & clean-up personnel...were all outstanding! My nurses David, Shay and Heather are Rockstars!!!!
There are many more names that I cannot remember, but I did thank them before leaving. In closing, I thank God

My primary care doctor Dr. Martin-Jones is terrible as a doctor. If you don't ask questions all she does is give you five minutes of her time. As a women over 50 she provided me with no information pertaining to menopause, heart issues or any information that is relevant and beneficial for me. If you are looking for a doctor stay far all from Dr. Martin-Jones. She does not deserve one star.

A friend is a cancer patient here and we both have had a very positive experience. The building is very nice, comfortable facilities, and pleasant roof top gardens off the 8th and 9th floors. The parking at 250 East Pleasant St is reasonable and connected via walking bridge directly to the lobby. We experienced the surgery department, the critical care department, and the cancer care department. Professional and considerate employees. Doctor Rosenshein is awesome and one of the kindest most considerate doctors I've ever encountered. 100% positive experience for a negative condition.

I am a patient of Dr. David Maine and I wanted to let everyone know that although I go to him for pain management (cortisone shots), I had a wonderful experience thanks to him and his amazing staff. I would like to thank all of the staff, especially Tania, Stephanie, Cherry, Amy, Denise and Annisa. I don't like getting the shots but they all put me at ease and are very thorough, friendly and compassionate. They are wonderful and I highly recommend Dr. Maine and his wonderful staff!!!!!

Mercy killed my mother early Monday morning. They had a student there training and they messed up big time. They was suppose to do 5 minute procedure that took 45 minutes for them to do. They told me and my dad she only have 1 month left to live, then came back moments later and said she's not breathing to good. My mother was talking and breathing fine when we took her there.

I've always been treated very well at Mercy Medical Center by the doctors, nurses and the blood drawing lab. Dr. Khan is a good rheumatologist and such a sweet person. Dr. Ciatola is also a fantastic orthopedic surgeon. I've been going to Mercy for years and I am satisfied.

On 6-Oct-2020, I was at Mercy Hospital for a sched...

On 6-Oct-2020, I was at Mercy Hospital for a scheduled surgery with a well-known surgeon. in consultation with the on call doctor on October 11th I was instructed to go to Mercy medical center Emergency Department/ED immediately as there could be a number of things going on, including internal bleeding stemming from complications from my surgery due to sever lower back pain,
The on call Doctor called the Mercy ED to let them know I was going there so they have my history.
My husband and I got to ED at 1129am on 11-Oct. When I arrived there was no other patient in lobby but me, although an hour later the ED started to get busy, patient after patient. I remember every other chair , had a sign next to each, please do not sit here due to covid social distancing protocols. After 3 hours waiting in ED a patient (possibly mentally ill patient) that didn t have a mask on properly came and sat next to me, coughing; I then quietly got up and sat in a different seat. No ED personal, or security officer on duty gave advice to or let that patient know that this siting next to someone is prohibited. Well, 20 minutes later, the man got up and sat next to another patient.
I found this very disturbing, especially when we are in the middle of pandemic. I then went to security to inform him, he was sitting too close to myself and others - I was wondering why no one is correcting the patient.
When I got to the security I found him sounds asleep and he didn t respond to my vocal attempts to wake him so I stood there looking at him for few seconds and he didn t move. At this point I lost all the confidence I had with Mercy Medical Center so I called my husband to come back to take me to another ED at UMD.
My husband called the physician on call and she advised him not to take leave Mercy ED or take me home and my pain could be serious. I waited another 10 minutes and I found the security sounds asleep again for the second time. I report that to the charge nurse and she gave me a number to call for formal complaint. The security guard remained in the hospital and there was nothing done. To whomever is in charge:
1- I waited 3 hours and 10 minutes in ED to just be seen, despite the fact that an on call doctor called and wanted me to be seen soonest. 2- as a patient, I trust in medical professionals to keep me safe - the patient who wasn t wearing mask properly could have covid, he was coughing and not wearing a mask properly - also sitting next to other patients is unacceptable. No accountability. Your security officer was literally sleeping on the job 2 times even after I confront him . Unacceptable and again this is safety issues. It s against CDC guidelines and no one corrected him, even worse, when I confront the security after he woke up, he was extremely rude to me!
3- I called patient relations 2 times and still didn t receive any phone call. That just tell me mercy medical center don t care about the patient feedback or any concern they may have.
It s a shame that Mercy Hospital doesn t follow the CDC guidelines , it s embarrassing and unacceptable. Since I have not received a response, I ve escalated my grievance to other entities to the Medical community.
At the end I want to thank only my nurses and my Gynecology resident who cared for me and showed sympathy during this horrible experience. I would never return to mercy medical hospital and I definitely would not recommend it to anyone.

NICU hostile to fathers. "Practiced" putting lV in my special needs daughter's head the 1st night we were not able to be by her side. I got so tired of explaining/reassuring to childless clergy why my child with special needs was a blessing to me. Very uncomfortable. Doctors and nurses, much like the rest of U of MD system, work harder to avoid accountability than they do at care and communication. No one was able to explain why my daughter had an unnecessary IV in her head. Avoid at all costs.

Me and my significant other just had our first child delivered at Mercy! We both are extremely happy with the service the staff provided us. FOR THE MOST part all of the nurses, tech's & doctors were very professional, kind, caring & very knowledgeable. We never questioned their decision making or plan for our daughters birth. After our daughter was born we went up to the 10th floor for a couple days & the staff was even more polite & willing to accommodate our needs. They gave us lots of diapers, formula & wipes to start us out which was a blessing! Mercy gets 5 stars if you ask us, nothing but the best here!

on January 11th 2016 I got a hysterectomy done by Dr G and Dr Kate Abellathey are two doctors from dr hoffman & Associates my cesarean cut is very large and it does not look very straight one side of my stomach is up and other side is down on top of being petrified because I had to get the surgery I have been through hell in this hospital and the nurses and doctors do not like their jobs they look at you like you're stupid they are very rude and ignorant they do not like giving you your meds when they're supposed to you have to ask them for your meds and then you have to fight over itthe nurses also do not come and check on yousince I've been here they have been checking my temperature orally when my fever was 101.7they took the temperature under my underarm and it was 98.8 and then I told me see you don't have a fever this whole time we have been taken your temperature wrong my blood pressure was 142 over 100 and then they come to me and say what do you want us to do I thought they were the one who went to med school in college I just don't understand if you don't like what you do why I get in this profession I do not recommend this hospital to no one and then when I told them that I didn't feel good they told me if you don't like it and you can get up and go to another hospital one

I have been a patient of Dr. Michael Zimring for 15 years. He has been very helpful to me as far as free samples of Janumet . I do not care for some of his comments in front of PA's. Once he told me that I would have to get a colonoscopy he said " you will love it they stick a big tube up your ass". One my most recent visit the PA was concerned about the color of my feet I am caucasian and he said something disparaging. He needs some work on his bedside manners. His PA was wonderful and congratulated me on a personal accomplishment.

Pregnant women beware as a Dr.Taylor is amazing but her staff at the mercy office is ignorant ratchet and incompetent if she was at her canton location on Thursdays which is my off day I would still go see her but unfortunately she's not I'm 6 months pregnant and have to continue my care elsewhere because I will not allow them to touch me I don't want their poorly educated hands to even take my vitals so because of her staff I would have to give it one star

So, since so many people are so quick to point out fault or place blame, I would like to give some compliments. I needed to have unexpected gallbladder surgery on 2/25/19. My boss, Dr. Jeffrey Gaber, saw me, made a phone call and sent me to the ER at Mercy Medical Center. From the minute I arrived until my discharge on 2/26/19, everyone was awesome! Everyone couldn t have been any nicer or more comforting. Shout out to my Attending Physician, Dr. Siamak Moayedi, who had a great bedside manner, quickly made the diagnosis, & made me feel reassured and at ease...to my surgeon, Dr. Nora Meenaghan, who I would recommend without hesitation. I immediately felt comfortable with her. She was extremely informative about the procedure and what to expect post-operatively, & made my husband and I have total faith in her... to my nurses on the 14th floor, Ericka and Seher, you were the best...and to Dave, a student nurse who took part in my post-op care, you re going to be a great nurse! So, to Dr. Gaber, Dr. Moayedi, Dr. Meenaghan, and everyone at Mercy that took part in my care, thank you! All of you made this experience a very positive one-and you all kept me very calm which is a feat all by itself!!

The only complaint I have about this hospital is the parking. Everything Eles is great. I went in today (Thursday) around 8:30 am for severe headaches and dizziness. I was diagnosed and checked out by 10:42 am. The hospital staff was very friendly, the hospital was clean. The wait time was very short and I think they tended to needs. It was well worth the 38min drive.

I had one of the best hospital experiences I have ever had this morning with the amazing staff at mercy medical surgical center on the 5th floor! They made my surgery at 730am this morning go smooth as can be. I had a wonderful Nurse Jill couldn t thank her enough for keeping me distracted so by the time I was wheeled back into the OR room I had completely forgot I was about to have surgery. The Anastasiologist was wonderful may I add too! Keeping me smiling and laughing while I was feeling uneasy about being put to sleep, And per Dr.Audlin such a brilliant doctor! Glad he diagnosed me quick! And sought the best option for me by ruling out other alternatives by trying those first before surgery. In recovery the nurse stayed right by my side asking me questions making sure I was okay! And everyone I mean the rest of the statff who lent a hand to me because I m unable to pull myself up at the moment, where a true blessing! No complaints everyone was smiling and well organized at 730 in the morning. Super impressed with this hospital and they have been nothing more than kind when going through a scary surgery! Thank you Mercy And thank you to everyone who has helped me today. First time ever at Mercy I give it & an

It s crazy to me that there is a mandatory 3 hour wait every time I visit the emergency room. Do they not prioritize the patients? If I m having a real medical emergency, that takes precedence over homeless people and drug addicts who are just trying to get inside. I called my insurance company s 24 hour nurse line and they told me go to the emergency room right away. Within the next hour. That was 3 hours ago. They keep telling me I m next, but they keep calling other people. I asked for water and was denied until I see the doctor. But another patient was given water. I ve been here 3 hours, dehydrating, and have yet to see a doctor. The triage nurses dont listen and put whatever they want into your chart. I m dizzy. Can t stand. And I ve been sitting here for 3 hours. Very ghetto. Would not recommend

I do not advise you to go for help to this hospita...

I do not advise you to go for help to this hospital, especially if it's an urgent case (emergency). I also don't like to leave comments and reviews, BUT!!! in this case, I lost my patience.
Well, on February 13-14 I had to call the emergency, and as my home near to Mercy Medical Center I was brought to this awful place twice - Feb 13 and Feb 14. I had a complete miscarriage on the Valentine's Day. I won't say about time I spent there, needless to say, it took more then 6 hours to do all the lab tests (sometimes very unprofessionally), to relieve that terrible pain I had.
I'm glad all that in the past. The problem appeared few weeks ago, when I got call from representative of this medical center. She said about my debt! I couldn't believe! Surely, I have great insurance, and from February I received just 1 bill (in the end of August) which I paid by sending to the Mercy the check. After that I didn't receive any bill from the Mercy. The only I got were few automatic calls from the Mercy, and when I tried to call back I couldn't do that, cause I had to wait representative too long after what the calls were unexpectedly interrupted. So, few week ago I finally got call from live representative, she said that the check I sent had missing digits!??? I had to pay while I was speaking with that lady. She even didn't mentioned about another amount I was due!!! I didn't know about that debt since I didn't receive any bill besides previous mentioned.
After all, last Friday (Sept 26) I received the letter from collection agency!!! My credit history was spoiled!!! I'm very disappointed of the services Mercy Medical Center provides!!! There is no doubt this place has no professionals who care responsibilities for their job. They even don't know what to do on their job-seats!!!
By the way, the week after miscarriage I visited the doctor who I got help at emergency room. She even didn't do ultra sound! Just did visual exam and said "everything look great" When that story with bills began, I logged in to my insurance company account and saw the information about lab test Mercy Health Services (another company under the Mercy Medical Center) allegedly provided to me. Now I'm waiting for detailed bill from that physician service department to see what did they mean and for what my insurance company paid already!
Hope, you never be there!

I JUST went there today for their OBGYN services. THEY LIED to me on the phone and they DO NOT provide IUD support and care. They require that you order your own IUD and do not provide them or the care for them. They also will lecture you about your choices of birthcontrol. I repeatedly asked them over the phone if they provided IUD care and they said yes, I wasted my whole morning being lectured and lied to.

Waste of time religious institution with stone age conceptions about women's health. No thank you.

I have always bragged about this hospital, until Nov. 22, 2014 when I was treated worse than a dog all because I was a "so called African American" in the white nurses perception this meant I had Ebola; although I have never ever been to Africa in my life. She refuse to touch me... All of my toesl on my right foot were broken except one, and for two hours I was refused pain meds.. I was eventually told I needed surgery and had one goe more than initially diagnosed broken. They were all mean and hateful abd refuse to identify themselves whilst turning their ID badges around backwards, to make sure that I could not identifybthen......

Mercy neurosurgeon Dr. Charles Park and the staff ...

Mercy neurosurgeon Dr. Charles Park and the staff at Mercy Medical Center were incredible following an unexpected diagnosis of a brain tumor and two cysts at an ER near my home on an early Saturday morning. What I thought were migraines became an urgent situation.

I asked my ER doc to contact Dr. Park, and was then transferred to Mercy via medical transport. Dr. Park saw me in Mercy s ICU shortly after my arrival that afternoon. He was confident I would get through this, and then made calls to his team who didn t hesitate to give up their Sunday morning for an 8 am surgery.

Before leaving my room, Dr. Park led my family in a prayer for a successful surgery and outcome. I imagine not many doctors are willing to share their faith in such a way. Doing so put my thoughts of the unknown at ease.

Upon entering the OR, I was greeted by smiles and personal attention, which assured me I was in the best place. Next thing you know I was waking up in the ICU. Pain was tough at first, though managed quickly by the nurses and doctors. If I had any issues, the ICU staff responded immediately. After a few days, I was moved to the 16th floor where the care seamlessly continued.

Despite the reputation of hospital food, Mercy s team was attentive and my meals were enjoyable.

From the medial staff, to pastoral care, food service, and others, there were many faces who made this journey a positive experience that will not be forgotten. Mercy is a place where body, mind, and spirit are cared for.

Fortunately, no additional treatments are not required at this time. I m anticipating returning to work following several weeks of recovery at home.

The mission of the Sisters of Mercy and Mercy Medical Center were on display every moment of my stay. I could not have asked for anything better.

The nurse i had the last day was so ambivalent and indifferent to my suffering. I was sick, in pain, crying requesting my pain meds and asking her to contact the doctor and she couldn't have cared less. I signed myself out prior to getting xrays so i could manage my pain.

The facility itself is very nice, and many of the staff here seem very caring and polite (hence the 3 stars). However, despite this, I found their ID requirement for minors to be rather absurd. I am seventeen and drove with my mother from North Carolina up to Maryland back in August to see my nephew after he was born, and, because I did not have an ID, was initially denied access. The staff were nice enough to allow me upstairs on the first day (even though they were technically violating hospital policy), but on the second day that we were going to visit, they refused. I found this peculiar, as I was allowed entry on the first day but was then denied by the same staff member the next day. Regardless, I see no need to pick fights with or complain about individual staff (who were honestly just following hospital policy), and instead would like to turn my attention to the strange ID requirement that this hospital has. There was no reason to deny me access on the second day after I had been granted it on the first day, and there was really no reason to question whether or not I was a "trustworthy" individual, given that my family members went downstairs and explained who I was.

For sure, this is a problem that I was grateful to have (compared to many other "negative" hospital experiences that people have), and, once again, I am glad that the staff was willing enough to let me in the first day. But I feel that the rules are unnecessarily strict, and I believe that they should be changed. I especially feel for anyone in this situation who might be trying to visit a dying family member or someone in serious pain but could, according to hospital policy, be rejected just because they don't have identification. The actual risk associated with a more lenient approach seems to me to be fairly low, so I don't see why such an approach couldn't be implemented at this hospital.

***GRAPHIC CONTENTS***** I WISH I COULD GIVE -STARS!!!!! I went to the ER @ 10pm with pregnancy complications. I told the triage nurse that i was cramping for 2days , spotting on the first day and bleeding today with small clots. She rushed through my triage and handed me a specimen cup, I was instructed to give a urine sample (the bathrooms were inside the waiting area and all 3 were dirty and nasty) and bring the cup back to her in the triage room. After a hour and a half i still found myself still sitting in the waiting area BLEEDING, heavier at this point and cramps are way more excruciating. I then called the hospital to see if i could speak to a patient advocate and or hospital administrator because i couldn t understand why my medical condition wasn t being taken seriously. I was transferred to a nurse manager and told that when i was triaged the nurse didn t feel i was in distress so it could be up to a 4 hour wait. She said she would send the charge nurse to talk to me. She did. It was The triage lady again. She simply told me i had to wait my turn, i said mam i could loose my baby, she said I m sorry you have to wait your turn.. all the beds are full.. what about labor and delivery? You have to be 20weeks in order to go there, I m crying in anger but it s an emergency i could loose my baby... we went back and forth a bit and before she turned to walk away she said you know you can go somewhere else and be seen and i went off!!! . I called the nurse supervisor 3-5 more times.. even the security started to call and ask for assistance for me... At this point I m in the waiting area for about 2hours or more before I m called to the back. FINALLY i can check on my unborn right ? NO! They are all in cahoots. So i go in the room and the NA I m guessing tells me to get undressed (the glass door is still open) and says would you like a STD/HIV test? I then replied i wanna check on my baby. I asked her the charge nurse name (i had forgotten i was so furious) She told me they don t give out names!!! How professional? So they eventually started the process of examining me and all of a sudden they don t see any signs of a Baby... REALLY?!! But clearly I m pregnant!!! Needless to say at about 4am they called security because They finally told me i was having a miscarriage and i said to the doctor well maybe this would have been prevented if i wouldn t have been made to sit in the ER for hours.... She says well that still doesn t change the fact that you are having a miscarriage! Felt like a slap in the face. How dare her be so inconsiderate to my feelings at a time like this??? Then call security because i lashed out, feeling like the hospital didn t have any compassion. No time off, No Motrin, No IV (i lost so much blood) No DNC... just follow up with my pc. I m beyond angry about what happen tonight at Mercy and you can rest assure i will NOT return!!!

The GI department is awful. I did like my doctor, but good luck ever getting a return phone call. I called a number of times last year and only got my call returned when I asked if I should find a new doctor.
After 3 calls in 1 week and no returned call I decided it was time to find someone new

I can not say enough wonderful things about Dr Brennan Collins. He is a wonderful person and cares for his patients. When I met with him he did not talk over me, but listened kindly and lovingly. He has an amazing assistant Jasmine Perry that took her time explaining things even more than once without getting upset. I truly felt loved and cared for. I also encountered Gigi (Angelica Davis) that was a dear to deal with as well. If you want a surgeon with warm bedside manner, pick Dr Collins. He is a wonderful person and Jasmine will help you sort out all of the details. Thank you Mercy for having people like Jasmine and Dr Collins on your team. I will find another platform in which to sing their praises because the medical field and world need more people like them.

I am Medically Retired from the US Army with Tricare Prime which pays 100% of my medical bills if I am hospitalized away from a Military Base for an emergency. I got admitted while visiting my mother at their facility and the receptionist LOST/MISPLACED my Military ID while entering me into the system but they treated me anyway. I gave them my SSN and Tricare Prime info but they still run it under my old information. They have been paid by Tricare and I have the claim information but because it was not from my personal account, they rejected it. Now they are trying to put my account into collection and when they do, I will be using them because I have contacted them and Tricare has contacted them and they are messing up my credit. They have mediocre service and staff.

Omg they slpit bills on facility charges and doctors charges i walked in to the ER and with a calf sprain i explained it to the nurse and they went ahead and run a x-ray after i told them i don't need it. They read my test back which was fine and gave me a subscription for pain killers and now i have a bill for 700 dallors for nothing no sense in this bill they owe me for wasting my time and putting me thru this hassle.

I just would like to say I normally not a review person, but after reading the other reviews, I completely understand what people are saying. The 11th floor nurses are rude and not caring whatsoever. They are the least compassion people working there. I can't believe they are even in this profession. They really need to go back to learn the ethics of nursing. I really hope I never have to go to that place ever again

I am SO thankful for Mercy! I was brought to another hospital by an ambulance with a leg broken so badly it was crooked and they sent me home to call during normal business hours. Dr. Jeng at Mercy saw my X-rays and saved the day! If it weren't for Dr. Jeng, Dr. Richman, and the amazing team at Mercy, I may have not been able to use my leg again. The staff was extremely nice and the nurses were attentive. I live out of town but continue to travel to Mercy because I know I will get the care I need!

Over 6 months ago, I was diagnosed with a disc herniation. After jumping through hoops with treatments, and being denied medical help from a local surgeon because I was too young (I live on the eastern shore), I was referred to the Mercy spinal center. With in 3 weeks time, I was seen in the office with Dr. Park, scheduled for a discectomy with decompression, and completed my surgery. Dr. Justin Park is a god send, hands down. I m 31 years old, a nurse, and have two small children. I went from being in pain, limited mobility, a depressing outlook on life, to almost fully regaining my life back! I m on the road to recovery and all symptoms have almost subsided, if not already. My family and I will be forever grateful. I would highly recommend him and this facility to anyone.

Dr. Justin Park and Staff of the Spine Center were outstanding. The best professional medical staff that I have had the privilege to use. From my initial exam, to surgery by Dr. Park, through my final post-op exam.

I was taken to the Mercy ER yesterday likely with a case of vertigo (I say likely because I was never told officially what it was). The EMS professionals, Ms. McLean and Mr. Philtran, that transported me from my job were extremely helpful, empathetic, tactile, and knowledgeable. When I got to the ER, the visit was okay. Things felt a little rushed, as they generally do in the ER, and some of the tests that they advised they would run were never initiated. I was complaining about chest discomfort and cramping and they never took the electrical picture of my heart or ran my electrolytes like they stated they would. While in the room, two of the nurses seemed to have a disagreement and an argument about who would retrieve my fluids right in front of me. One of them was short with me as if she didn t want to be there (which I understand in the middle of the COVID-19 crisis, but it was still quite uncomfortable.) The other nurse was quite kind and helpful. I was given a vertigo medication that I had a bad reaction to, which resulted in convulsion. Mind you, I had only requested to take half the recommended dose, since I am sensitive to medications. When the Dr. Samuel Hsu saw me having convulsions and I told him that I may be allergic to the medication, he passed it off as temporary and essentially said that s not supposed to happen . And wouldn t you know it, he advised that I wait it out. Then when I had to get attention for a nurse to use the restroom, I had to bang on the window for about 5-10 minutes before I could get anyone (who was standing right outside the window in a glass, open office in which everyone could see) to come take out my IV so I could go. The icing on the cake was when I was prescribed the medication that I reacted to so badly. Honestly, as I said before, I understand that the hospitals and their teams are overworked and probably underpaid for their labor, especially in the midst of a pandemic. This was just a very distressing experience which has made me a very concerned and unsatisfied patient.

I had a recent visit at the women's center the level of professionalism from each Mercy employee that I encountered was amazing. At the front door I was greeted by the Mercy representative who checked my temperature check and asked the COVID questions to the service representative in the women's center who registered me was such a pleasant experience. The one employee that made a lasting impression was the medical assistant Latrice who assisted Dr. Peters. She carried herself professionally and made my visit very comfortable, attentive and treated me with respect. The quality of care that she provided made the difference in treating a patient as an individual versus treating a patient as next on an assembly line. The women center got the message of the importance of customer service and thus each employee has leveled up accordingly. I would highly recommend the Women's center.

I am a living walking testament of a miracle. Thanks to my God who not only healed my body, but led me to one of the most remarkable oncologist in the world. In February 2020 I was diagnosed with colon cancer. This shocking news brought my husband and I to our knees in tears. Twenty years ago we lost our beautiful 10 year old daughter to neuroblastoma cancer. The recollection of that time in our lives surfaced and brought even more emotions to our situation. Fast forward, when we initially met with Dr. Vadim V. Gushchin at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore. He saw that we were perplexed and had many questions. He took his time to candidly explain things to us and thoroughly answer our many questions. At the end of the consultation I recall feeling very confident that God had sent me to the best surgeon in Baltimore and the world. I could relax and appreciate Dr. Gushchin. My surgery was very successful, thank you Dr. Gushchin for your skillful hands, impeccable medical knowledge, and empathetic spirit, you live up to your great reputation as the best in the oncology field .

If you're a vendor stay far away from this place. They don't pay their bills, employees are extremely shady and lazy, and even upper management gets paid to literally do nothing all day. Absolute mess for a care facility with lack of communication between the departments. Not sure their actual care for a patient is any better. Pathetic.....

I went to the emergency room with kidney and back pain. The emergency room was dingy,
poorly maintained, and after waiting for over two hours I left. During that time not one patient
(apart from pediatric patients) were taken to who knows where to be treated. Catherine
McCauley has to be hanging her head in shame, as well has Sr.Mary Thomas.

I've been to Mercy several times, but nothing serious like operations or amputations, however the nurses were very polite, very responsive and respectful and very professional, I highly recommend Mercy non emergency services but as far as critical medical emergency I suggest you do your HOMEWORK bcuz it's your LIFE!

The night staff is HORRIBLE and it start becoming a FREAK SHOW that the security on site don't do nothing but laugh & look at sick ppl crazy. The worst customer service I ever seen for a HOSPITAL......wow be prepared wait a long time.......never come here ever again

This has to be the worst hospital in the area, I have been to many emergency rooms working in my field and this has to have been the worst experience. The staff is rude and uncaring. The field I work in I get a understanding of what we call the norm, but I have learned that you have to treat people as humans. This is the worst experience I have every had.

The nurses and doctors were OK, the service wasn't so good. They didn't offer transportation to bring my daughter downstairs nor did they tell her about a voucher for a cab. It's like that was rushing her to leave. It's so much tonthis story that's you wouldn't believe.

Do not get your son circumcised here. They left too much foreskin on him without properly educating us as to what to do in such a case. After attempting to see if the issue would correct itself after a month of a physician-recommended special procedure, peeling the foreskin back and applying vaseline after bathing, the problem persists. This has led to a penile adhesion, which I am now having to go through more consultations with urologists ($$$) to determine the next course of action. The only options left are 1) do nothing and allow him to live with the additional foreskin or 2) surgery while he is still young. This is highly stressful.

The rest of the birth went fine and the staff were generally attentive with good accommodations in the rooms.

I can't speak for the other areas of Mercy but the OB/GYN wing is the BEST in Maryland in my opinion. My daughter was born here & they provided the most caring, professional, comfortable & knowedgeable experience I've ever had before! I recommend Mercy over any other hospital in MD, the staff are very very friendly & all seem to love what they do. I can't say the same for some of the surrounding hospitals in Baltimore. Currently at John Hopkins Bayview STAY away from this place. The influx of patients coming in for drug abuse or OD's makes the staff intolerable to almost everyone which isn't fair to people who have insurance & just want a clean simple experience when going in for treatment or diagnosis. Thank you Mercy staff, Bayview

The entire staff at Mercy should be forced to take...

The entire staff at Mercy should be forced to take a customer service course. I cannot even explain in this review how little compassion or help I received from all the people I saw there for a bone I broke in my elbow yesterday.

It started off with the rude front desk check in person when I interrupted her from having an unprofessional conversation with her colleague due to me coming in with a broken elbow. I waited for the medical assistance to take my vitals. She (MA) was one of the most moodiest, unfriendly humans I have ever met. (You would think a person getting paid a decent wage would say something like is there anything else I can help you with while you wait) NOPE!!!! Don't expect that from Mercy.

I was sent to the back of the waiting room for over 30 minutes. The nurse finally came and sat me down and said someone should be with me shortly, ***1 hour and 37 minutes*** later a doctor finally came to me and said let's get you X-rayed, 22 minutes later. The X-Ray tech came, 45 minutes later the doctor said I have a Radial Head Fracture. The doctor said the nurse would put me in a sling and I would be good to go. The problem was, I waited another 30 minutes for the nurse. I asked a random medical professional walking by if they could do it. They did, I got my paperwork eventually and left.....All seriousness, if you're reading this you would think again a nurse or medical professional would check in and say how are you? Is there anything I can do to help while you wait? Sorry the doctor is taking so long. Instead of the medical professional talking in a loud voice to their coworker about something they say on Facebook yesterday.

NOW ON TO THE NEXT DAY: I called the ER front desk to ask a few questions to the doctor I saw about my fracture. The front desk someone said I don't understand why you need to speak with him, you need to call your primary care doctor. Being that my primary care doctor isn't available till next week I figured I would try contacting the doctor from Mercy that told me yesterday to call back if I have anymore questions, but NOPE.

LASTLY, I contact patient advocacy to explain my situation and get X-Rays. That was slightly better customer service, but their assistance didn't help and I was still unable to speak with a doctor or get my X-Rays. My experience has been terrible.

Mercy, if you're reading this please consider making your very well paid staff take a customer service course to help show compassion. Thanks

Don t do it steer clear of this uncaring place. ...

Don t do it steer clear of this uncaring place. The care about getting as many people through here as possible. They care very little about the person. I had THR in 6/17 it was a nightmare. I M crying writing this because it still very upsetting. They transferred me out after a few hours post op. I was in pain and still under affects of anesthesia and the case manager kept coming in pushing for me to transfer to a facility over an hour away. I was put in a van sitting in a chair for over an hour. The pain would get so horrible I would pass out. I was confused and disoriented. My husband was not told what was going on in recovery ( and the hospital tried to bill for one nights stay, I never left recovery or was admitted). He was unaware I had left the hospital till i was gone. Ir was a nightmare. I ended up with an infection that required revision scar surgery in Sept Yhis was not done at this Hospital. I left behind pills, iPhone charger and personal effects. The only thing I got back were the pills because I kept calling till they found them.
Their supposed fabulous Ankle and Foot clinic
is a bigger scam. Dr Myerson retired . He retired because his license was suspended. This clinic is another book them get them out and bill the insurance company for as much as possible.

I should have listened to reviews. This place is bad. I went to the ER and it was just a couple of people. Over almost 3 hours they maybe called in 2 people. By then the room was getting packed. They triage and that's all. I should have realized how gross it was when they used the same blood pressure cuff for everyone. I've been to a lot of ER, always recieving a new in package cuff. This is gross. Then they pulled out gynecological exam things. Nurse used her hands and eventually put on gloves. No tray for the tools. Smack on the counter by the sink. The speculum they put partially on the bag it came in. Everything was so dragged out and I wondered why they didnt just discharge me to clear a room for the next person. There's no way people dont die in that waiting room. Doctor was nice, nurse was nice, triage nurse was pretty intense... but the crowd can be tough. I hope I don't catch anything dreadful from this place. Bathroom was horrible. People from the street use them and they hand you a cup to pee in. I wasnt going to step foot in there after watching everyone walk in and out. So I waited for the one in the ER. Nasty. Filthy. I hope to never step foot into this place again. It needs a major upgrade in technology and service. And I had to park across the street up a few floors and walk in pain to the ER. It is a terrible joke.

I had surgery at Mercy last year with Dr Rosenshein. My hospital stay was wonderful. The nurses and assistants were great, always checking on me and the food was good too. If I ever need surgery, this is where I will go.

Where do I start? I am someone who is in town visiting since yesterday. Came to the ER with my significant other due to an injury he has, remind you we didn t drive took an Uber. We walked through the ER and I was told I couldn t wait due to the Covid19, which I understand. My significant went on about how we didn t drive we are here visiting and he needs me by his side. So they decided I can only sit in the waiting area for him but somehow the information lady at the desk started hating asking the security to ask if the others that said it was okay... next thing you know my other half got called back but I m the process some nurse comes out and ask me to leave. How did she know? Because the information lady took upon herself to go hate on me sitting there with a mask on not bothering anyone sitting alone. Like that is wrong and I work in a hospital in my town and we don t do stuff like that. If you asked the lady up front if she said it was okay why wait to tell someone else you that bored? Huh? It s good to know when I m back into town I won t be coming back here. Thank you! Find something to do with your time then to worry about why someone is waiting not bothering anyone.

Don't have your baby here, the doctor put a hole in the patient's colon. When the patient complained of pain they brushed It off as just gas. The patient bleeds out and because the staff refused to listen to the patient. I beg you NOT TO GO TO THIS HOSPITAL

This hospital should be shut down. The medical staff is rude and uncaring and the nurses are incompetent. I was scheduled for surgery at 10:30 am. I had to wait in the waiting room until 3:20 pm with not so much as an explanation. I had my 6 year old son with me the whole time by the way. I had my surgery which lasted all but 15 minutes. Then I had to wait there for another 6 hours to be discharged. Then they waited until 10 pm to tell me they needed to monitor my baby's heart rate for 20 minutes after I was there all day waiting. Then they told me I had to leave AMA after being there with a 6 year old all day. I hate that place and everyone that works there.

I recently had the bladder sling operation by Dr Ellerkmann. I couldn t be happier with the results. After experiencing urinary incontinence for many years I no longer have to worry about coughing or laughing in public. It truly has been life changing. Dr. Ellerkmann and his entire staff were extremely professional and receptive to my needs. I would recommend this procedure for anyone who is experiencing symptoms of incontinence. Dr Ellerkmann is the person to see. He is #1 in my book!
