NICU hostile to fathers. "Practiced" putting lV in my special needs daughter's head the 1st night we were not able to be by her side. I got so tired of explaining/reassuring to childless clergy why my child with special needs was a blessing to me. Very uncomfortable. Doctors and nurses, much like the rest of U of MD system, work harder to avoid accountability than they do at care and communication. No one was able to explain why my daughter had an unnecessary IV in her head. Avoid at all costs.
