Excellent customer service in addition to realistic pricing
I am a repeat customer at Clearlake Mazda. All the staff were all very kind and helpful. Our sales consultant Mirza Beg was very easy going and just made my time there very comfortable. He is a very relaxed gentleman type that puts you at ease with no sales pressure what so ever. He took extra time just sitting in the vehicle with me and explaining all the new features and how they work. I m an old school guy so how to work that stuff would be a challenge if he hadn t gone over everything with me. And he genuinly means it when he says if you have any questions whatsoever please call .
I am very likely to be a threepeat customer at Clearlake Mazda.

I recently moved to the area and just began servicing my CX-9 with Mazda of Clear Lake. I have been extremely please the three times that I have been there. I had the opportunity to speak with the manager, Dustin who gave me a rundown of the history of Mazda of Clear Lake and what makes their dealership the best option for all of my automotive needs. He offered a loaner vehicle while my vehicle was being serviced and I was so very excited when I found out I would be driving the new CX-9 Signature. I am in love with this vehicle and am positive it will be my next vehicle. I have also had worked with Michaels (both of them lol), Ian, Matt, Jeremiah, and Daniel. Each of them have been extremely helpful and I feel comfortable working with all of them.
The building needs some attention but they are staffed with exceptional people, they are inexpensive compared to anyone else in the area, they take the time to build trust by being very transparent and clear about the expectations.
Very impressed so far and I am looking forward to buying my next car from them.

Please do yourself a favor and take your car elsewhere. Here are some of my issues from today:
1. They charge $100/hour for mechanic's time. The private shop in my neighborhood charges $89/hour.
2. They charged me 1.5 hours of labor to replace spark plugs and spark plug wires. It took me 20 minutes to do this the one time I did it, and I am far from a professional mechanic.
3. They do not keep regular maintenance items in stock. I called several days ahead to schedule and confirmed my appointment date and service list via fax, yet they still waited until they had my car on-site before they ordered the parts, adding several days to the repair time.
4. Their service agent did not call me to discuss the results & service suggestions after the mechanic did the inspection of the overall car.
5. Their service agent did not return my call after I left a message inquiring about the status of the repairs.
6. Their loaner car had a cracked windshield, a headliner that was falling down, and smelled like smoke -- all from a car with 16K miles.
7. They wanted 2 hours labor to clean out the drains from the rain rail and the cockpit of the car. This should be 10-20 minutes when the car is on the stand, maybe less.
The shop had my car for 2 days -- plenty of time to do all of the repair work based on the last time I had this series of major servicing done. When I went to pick up my car I learned that all of the parts were on back order and that they only work they completed was the fluid changes (oil, transmission, and differential) and the spark plugs/wires. Finding out that all of the parts were on order & would arrive in 3 days sent me through the roof.
I cancelled the remainder of the service and then the service agent had the gall to tell me that I had to pay a 15% restocking charge for the maintenance items. They finally waived it after I went on a tirade about how these are routine maintenance items that they should have in stock.
Please, please, please take your business elsewhere. This place is not worth the cost and headaches. This shop is unprofessional, poorly run, and ridiculously expensive.

The car buying experience was fine but I was told back in 2017 when I bought my CX-5 that "Mazda Connect" was not in it but they would upgrade it for free when it came out which "should be any day now" and they would contact me when it was available.
They never contacted me. Here it is 2 years later and they are telling me its not available for my make and model (A quick google search shows that is a complete lie).
Then they started telling me the price to retrofit to the system I was promised (starting at like 500 just for parts)... They are complete liars, never called, never replied to my emails or calls during that 2 year period and are not giving a feature they assured me would be free to me when it came out.
Anything to sell a car but clearly dont care about you at all after that.

I have owned my Truck for over a year now and just brought it for its 3rd oil change service.
Mazda of Clearlake treated me fair when I purchased my truck last year. Now that I have had my 3rd oil change since I purchased my truck I felt that I should also give a complimentary review about their Service Dept. Definitely has been a great experience dealing with this dealership. Far different than some other dealerships with whom I have attempted to build a relationship with in the past. Five Stars all the way around! You have a faithful and happy customer for life!

Mirza was good when buying the car, but afterwards he turned pretty bad. Ahmad was good but is no longer there. I edited my review because they gave me a hard time when they shouldn't have afterwards.
I had scheduled an oil change the day prior and then had another appointment overlap but when I called and rescheduled with Katelyn she was super friendly and adjusted the appointment for later in the day. When I arrived she greeted me and let me know she would be checking the car in and taking it back; about 20 minutes later she came back and presented the assessment with all of the recommended services, and we talked about those and I chose a couple from the list. She explained what some of the services recommended were supposed to address and it helped me understand the importance of those items a little better, but due to time constraints I chose to defer these for my next visit. Her interactions with me were exceptional and she is friendly and approachable, which made my visit to Mazda of Clear Lake a great one.
My visit went smooth as we had communication throughout the internet sale dept. I was happy. Good job and thanks!

Enjoyed working with Otto and the staff of Mazda of Clear Lake when purchasing a new Mazda CX-5. The professional staff took as much time as we wanted to demonstrate the value Mazda delivers for the money and provided options to fit our budget and simplified the car buying process. Went to several other dealerships to determine what vehicle make/model to purchase and Mazda of Clear Lake was one of the few that didn t belittle the other vehicles that we were considering but rather accentuated the Mazda attributes which provided the superior design and functionality we were looking for in a vehicle. Would strongly recommend this dealership for a hassle free, no pressure, simplied car buying experience.
Whatever you do, do NOT buy a car from DeMontrand Mazda. This has been the most unpleasant experience of my life from lying salesmen (Mirza), false advertising of prices and warranties, and then treating my husband horribly when we went back to look for the floor mats that mysteriously disappeared when they took it back to wash the car. What a terrible way to do business. There were two employees who tried to fix the actions of the others, but 2 people can t save a business.

Absolutely the most useless pathetic excuse for a parts department on the face of the planet. This is the only dealership I've ever talk to that never ever ever ever has any parts in stock for any vehicle. They should close the parts department down and force them to order from Russell and Smith.

My granddaughter had been looking for a car for college for several months. She found a great deal on a 2007 Mazda 3 at Mazda of Clear Lake. The salesman, Mirza, was very friendly and easy to work with. He was not a "pressure" salesman at all. A few minor repairs had to be made on the car and the car was ready in four days. Mirza kept in touch with us to let us know about the progress of the repairs. My granddaughter was very pleased with the car and we are very pleased with our experience at Mazda of Clear Lake.
Kenny helped us with everything we needed, was very attentive and patient. After we found the vehicle we wanted Kenny was able to negotiate an affordable deal that suited our needs. Awesome job!

Very dissatisfied with this dealership for not honoring the price I was quoted when I went to the dealership to purchase the car due to an error on the part of their sales person. Don't trust any quotes they email you. Obviously, there is no guarantee they will honor the price even if you (and they) have the emails to prove the price you were given. They wanted to charge me $2000 more after I got there! Really!!!!

Our buying experience with Clear Lake Mazda began with a simple phone call and inquiry. Chris Danzell received the call and continued to provide excellent customer service throughout our vehicle investigation. We contacted several dealers via the internet and phone and choose Clear Lake Mazda because of Chris' attention and amazing new vehicle offer. I called him several times and visited in person before making our decision. Chris always answered my questions honestly and in a timely manner - no high pressure sales tactics. We will be back for our next vehicle purchase. Five stars, Chris, five stars (more if they were available)!

I still love my Mazda! And they still have great customer service! My low air pressure tire light has been on for 1 week. With the bad weather lately, I called if I could swing by after work, and they said yes! My car was seen immediately and serviced. I was in and out in less than 10 mins. Thank you so much!

He made sure I got exactly what I wanted, very accommodating. Finance guy is a little pushy but that was to be expected since I'm financing with my bank. Overall, this dealership has great customer service. I am ecstatic and satisfied about my purchase.
This is an edited review, I first gave this place 5 stars. The only good thing about this place is the sales person. This place will try and steal as much money away from you as possible when you finance. I got stuck paying $5,000 more than the agreed price. There are also hidden fees, or fees that they just outright lie to you about. My drive-out price was supposed to be $23,200, drive-out to me is a price that already includes tax and title. Looking at the paperwork now, including the warranty that I didn't even want I owe $17,700 before interest. Btw I put $10,000 down, so theoretically I am only supposed to owe around $13,200, the extended warranty was about $3,200, so what about the other extra fees? Guess what, it was tax, title, and other fees he never explained. Also they tacked on a extended warranty, the finance guy (Matt Kinard) never explained that this so called extended warranty was optional, in fact he never really explained anything. All he did was tell me what the warranty covered and never said this was a separate package, I thought it was the "Customer Assurance Package" that is included, It definitely was not. He just talked extremely fast and after just gave me paperwork to sign. Although I should have looked at it more closely and it is partly my fault, which is why I have been trying to cancel it. Problem is they've been making me go in circles and it's extremely annoying. Matt Kinard is the guy who did my paper work, when I realized what had happen I called 3 days later to try to cancel it. He says I have to wait for the paperwork to be mailed, I waited a week and not received it, I called again and he said I will get it in the mail. Another week and nothing, I called again and finally he tells me to come pick it up at the dealership, what happened to it being mailed?
I go to the dealership and here he is showing me how to cancel, I look it over and seems simple enough, I go home and start filling it out, than suddenly I need a loan number. I call the bank and they say they haven't received the paperwork yet (it's been over 2 weeks), I call the dealer and the dealer says I have to call the bank. I tell them I have called the bank and they gave me more BS on how I have to wait for the paperwork and it takes a couple weeks (it has already been a couple weeks) so now I have no choice but to wait even though I wanted to cancel just 3 days after purchasing.
So they have not even submitted it yet and all of this could have been avoided if we re-did the paperwork, it was just 3 days when I asked to cancel, I purchased the car Nov 8, today is Nov 19, and I have been trying to cancel since.
Also when I looked at the paperwork there was a bunch of hidden fees that was not mentioned, car was supposed to cost 23,200 drive out, meaning tax and everything is included. Guess what, the loan added on tax and title and everything else. I put $10,000 down and should have been financed only $13,200, well after everything it I am financing $17,000, which is complete BS. Even after I cancel the warranty i would still be around $14,500. That is not drive out price, my fault for not paying closer attention, but I guess I was to trustworthy or naive.
I was going to refer friends to the place but no more, they screwed me big time and I am not going to let them do the same to my friends.
Mazda of Clear Lake, unfortunately for you, you have lost not just a former customer but a bunch of future customers also.
Do not go to this place to buy a car, they will outright lie to you about the cost of the car and tack and other crap that you didn't know was a different package all together. They offer lifetime oil changes, but honestly every dealer except maybe 1 or 2 offered the same thing.
Unfortunately for me I have to live with paying more than I wanted, but it was still partly my fault, so it is what it is. I just want to warn other people before they make the same mistake.
If you look at other reviews I'm not the only one that screwed by their finance guys.

The prices may be attractive but:
1. They are far from Houston
2. They have a pathetic service quality
Reason why I say this:
1. I moved recently after buying my car from here, so was trying to contact the service center/ salesman to update my address for sending the number plate. They do send out number plates, supposedly for 40 miles or above. But that is a trap. They do pick up your call but never connect to the person you wanted to talk to and leave you on hold. Any attempt to email will be ignored.
2. The finance guy never sent the paper to my bank for loans I had to follow up on several occasions with them on this.
3. I had come for service repair of my car today but they say that the loaner is not available and told me to check with then 1 week later!
4. The manager Hamad is really disrespectful. As I was complaining to him about recent bad experience at his dealership he gave me a grin" I sold you the car and it is all over for me" and did not even care to listen.
Also please don't call about any issues with you car to the salesman who just sold you car a month ago as it is a service issue now. Said the salesman.

I believe this is now Demontrond Honda. Really friendly and attentive sales staff. Large inventory and a pretty straight forward sales process. We didn't end up buying a Mazda, but we liked the sales person. I'm knocking a star off because the location is really terrible. It's on a very busy part of the feeder that is hard to get out of. Honestly, it's just a terrible location. Which was a contributing factor for why we didn't buy a Mazda, as having it serviced there (closest Mazda dealership to our home) would be a very big hassle. If there was a way to connect back to Kobayoshi behind the dealership, I'd encourage y'all to look into it. It would make this a way easier place to get in and out of!
I have my cx-7 maintenance here. They are friendly.
I am extremely thankful to the guys in the service department. My experience goes well beyond any reasonable expectation from any business not just an Automotive Shop. I could go on for hours about how they went above and beyond when I was defeated from the worst imaginable period of my life. I was turned away from Jeff Haas (where I purchased my car!), and another dealership which is located within a mile from my home. Stranded without transportation, the manager Dustin, sent a young man named Gage to pick me up, and assess the situation with my Mazda6. Gage was extremely positive, respectful, and a truly wonderful person that I am thankful to have met. He restored some joy into my shattered world. When I arrived at the dealership, I was greeted by another absolutely wonderful gentleman named Jeremiah who greeted me by name (even though I had never even been to this dealer) and assured me that they would take great care of me and restore my vehicle back to a safe and reliable in no time. I was introduced to Derek who runs the shop and he also pledged to ensure the process was smooth and efficient. Jeremiah and Dustin each called me at least once per day and gave me options to repair my vehicle, restore the maintenance items, and a plan to accomplish these things within my next three visits at a budget that I feel comfortable with. I was given a loaner vehicle throughout the process which completely saved me! Next February, (so long away!) I plan to purchase a new vehicle. Based on the experiences I had previously with other Mazda dealers, I was not even considering another Mazda. Now, I am certain to be purchasing a CX-9 from my dealership, Mazda of Clear Lake.

When I decided to trade my older Mazda in for a 2018, I decided to go to Mazda of Clear Lake and I am certainly glad I chose this dealership. Mazda of Clear Lake is an awesome dealership who makes customer satisfaction its number one priority. From my salesperson, Kizito, all the way up to the owner, you are not going to find a dealership who cares as much about their customers as Mazda of Clear Lake. I am so happy with how well I have been treated at this dealership that I am referring everyone I know who is looking for a new car, to shop at Mazda of Clear Lake. I do want to add that Kizito is one of the most honest and professional individuals you will ever have the pleasure of doing business with. He is definitely a man of his word.

Don't be fooled by the free maintenance on your new car for 3 years. They charge a minimum 70 bucks to do the general maintenance
I recently purchased a 2014 Mazda 3 hatchback from Mazda of Clear Lake and wanted to share my experience. I live in Denver but ended up searching out of state for a vehicle due to a combination of high prices and low inventory locally. I was lucky enough to work with Alex Saldivar, the internet sales manager, who responded promptly to my inquiry, exhibiting a sense of urgency about completing the sale that was sorely lacking at several other dealerships, most notably Classic Auto Group of Galveston, who should be avoided at all costs unless one feels nostalgic for the deceptive sales tactics and browbeating common in auto sales circa 1985. Although being an out of state buyer posed unique challenges, Alex and his team didn't hesitate in working out the details. Ultimately, I was able to purchase the vehicle for: base price + sales tax + dealer doc fee ($163), with ZERO additional fees tacked on. Alex provided a Texas buyer tag allowing me to drive the car home and register it locally at my convenience. The drive back to Denver was long but incredibly fun thanks to the dynamic, responsive handling of my new (to me) Mazda 3!

My wife bought a used Ford Edge there last week And the check engine light came on a couple of days later. Their only response was you should take it to the dealer and have it repaired.

My 5th MAZDA from Mazda of Clear Lake TX, Oil Change was perfect experience. I went in at 7:30am for my oil change, done and was able to get to work by 8:15 am. Now I call that service.
Starting car shopping before the storm Harvey came to us in Galveston Kenny Froisy was extremely helpful great guy as well, help me in other ways to work on my payments plans to be the most comfortable at, and he did , everything he did he accomplish what I wanted , Big plus for this thank you I m willing to make business with y all guys in the next 3 years and hopefully this gentleman is still here ,, thanks again Kenny and thanks Mazda in Clearlake !!!! Kizito made me buying a car here so easy. I was nervous with this being a big step for me. I felt comfortable when it was all said and done. I bought one of the Mazda from here last year and it had a complimentary oil change but I am charged for oil change service every single time bringing the car for oil change service. I have no idea why they even bothered sending out the Survey. I commented on the survey that I did not get my complimentary oil change but no one cared.
This kind of tells you the after sales support does not exist!!

I was thinking about trading in my mini because of the inconvenience factor and had been wanting a Mazda for years. I was greeted by Marco and we got to trading my car in right away. I ended up with a 2020 Mazda CX-5 touring edition. He explained everything that we needed to know - I would highly recommend this dealership!
The dearlership is very rude. I wish I can give them zero star. When I come in no one come to ask what I need. Then I come to ask one guy to buy a CX-5. He take me to the lots show me the car, I ask him about the price and the key to look inside, then his phone ring and he answered the phone then leave me on the lots about 20 muinute he not come back. I ask another guy he give me the price to higher then I ask him to reduce price. But he and his boss started to laughing and joking with me. They thinking I m not serious to buy a car, they don t give me any information to contact.
I swear never come back again.
Drove from Dallas to help my daughter buy her car and it was the best experience of car buying I have ever had! Service advisor was excellent, but phone reception was very RUDE after I called back to inquire as to why a light was on.
I came in for an oil change this morning and stood in the service center for a good 10 minutes before any of the 6 workers greeted me. Mind you only one other customer was being helped. The least they could have done was acknowledge my existence! Very rude and terrible customer service.

When we finally decided on the color and options we wanted, there were no models left. Matt did his best to find a vehicle in the area. Matt even put us in contact with an Austin dealer to buy the car from them.
A week after we said no thanks, Matt found our vehicle on its way across the Pacific and managed to get it sent here.
