We almost didn't buy here because the service dept...

We almost didn't buy here because the service dept had some previous bad reviews. However, recently things have really turned around for the better. Its usually a bleh experience coming in for service, but last couple of times have been GREAT. Way to turn things around!

My wife went here by herself to buy a new vehicle and applied for financing and was approved for a 5% interest rate at told her she had to pay $3000 down. She looked at several vehicles and ended up bringing one home for 48hrs for an extended test drive, which I will admit was very nice. However, when she decided she didn't want that vehicle and told them she was going to go home and think about it after dropping it off, the sales manager came out and said "oh, well if you decide you want to get it we got you a 1% interest rate", which immediately sparked my curiosity, so I asked "1%? Does she still have to put $3000 down?" and the manager replied "no, no money down and 1%" so I said "did you re-run her for different financing?" and he said no. So I asked "how in the world did you tell her 5% with $3000 down, and now that that we're unsure about buying a vehicle it's magically 1% and nothing down?" The manager did some serious backpeddling and I told him no thanks, we don't want your business and left. We were seriously offended and my wife was very frustrated because she felt like she was taken advantage of because I wasn't there with her from the get-go. Never going back there again and not buying a Mazda.

The customer service at this place is absolutely o...

The customer service at this place is absolutely outstanding! It brings a smile to my face that even though I haven't been to this location that much they remember my name and even other little things about me to talk about while my car is getting serviced.

Now the waiting room is nothing spectacular but they have decently comfortable chairs and a TV for you to watch and magazines to read. Also you know exactly when your car is being pulled up because of the big windows.

The quality of the service is wonderful also, I haven't had any problems taking my car in to have whatever I needed done to it. Whenever its done if I didn't stick around in the waiting room , they always hit me with a call to let me know its ready to be picked up whenever I'm ready.

This was the first car I ever bought by myself. My mom and dad came with me to "make sure I didn't get ripped off". Haha! I was a bit nervous to be honest, not wanting to stress myself out with what kind of offer I would get or agreeing to something I shouldn't. (It's a big investment, after all.) From the minute we walked in, Kenny was with me (and parents, lol) the entire time. Not once did I feel like he was trying to "sell" me on anything. I felt like he was honestly just trying to help me make the right choice for me. He was honest in his opinions and pointed me in the direction I needed to go. He was able to get the monthly payments just around where I wanted them to be, and walked me through it in terms I could understand. Not going to lie, I thought today was going to be stressful. But Kenny made the whole process quick and painless, and I was able to just enjoy the awesome feeling of buying my first car on my own. Even got a picture with him by my new ride before I left. Thank you, Kenny! (By the way, decided to name my Mazda3 Hatch "Toby"! Bruce will now go to my little cousin!)

The dealership backed out on a deal that my dad and I had separately checked on with salesmen. We did all the paperwork, test drove the car and had the key in our hands when they told us the deal wasn't possible. Understandingly, we were frustrated and called them out on their behavior. They never apologized and instead the manager was aggressive towards us. After some negotiation, he told me to shut up and which point my dad told him to give us our documents - we were leaving. He crumpled them up and threw them at my dad. My dad moved in his way to grab them and he threatened to knock out my dad if he touched him again. My mom jumped in the middle and he pushed her out of the way and walked off with half our documents. Eventually he gave them back but after back-and-forth yelling in the showroom. The manager seriously needs some anger management classes if he pretends to continue to hold his job. I'm still in disbelief.

I purchased an used 2008 Mazda tribute in July, which came with 4 new tires. But now I found they were wrong size, which caused shaking while driving on highway. It seems the dealer just gave me 4 wrong size tires on purpose, because those tires were left for long time and that used car needed tires change. Today I spent $570 to get my four tires change. That's pretty dangerous and I'll never trust this place.

David is very knowledgeable and really helped us in our search for the right car. Both our cars and our house were flooded in Harvey and we don't have flood insurance, so must buy two cars and fix our house ourselves. My 2015 Mazda 3 had to be replaced but we can't afford a new car right now. Even though we bought our used Mazda from someone else, David went the extra mile to help us make our decision.

As soon as we can afford to buy another new car we will be buying it from Mazda of Clear Lake because of David's absolutely stellar customer service. Kenny and Otto were also fantastic answering questions and showing us options. This is a great team who really cares about their customers. We truly do appreciate it. Thank you!!

He got me in a car I really enjoy driving even with 90 minutes of commuting in Houston traffic everyday. And it was at a price I was comfortable with. Diane in the service department want over and beyond to work with me and the technicians to resolve the issue. I recently bought a vehicle from David Turner, and I can't recommend him enough. He is extremely knowledgeable about his products, very friendly, and above all trustworthy. When I needed some more time to think about the purchase, David and Matt from finance held the car for me for two days. I am very pleased with my decision to buy from David at Mazda of Clear Lake.

I bought a car here in July.

On August 15 or 16, I got a missed call from a Maria at Mazda of Clear Lake two full weeks before the license plate email came in. I called back for Maria the next day and was transferred to multiple people because no one had any idea why anyone had called me and Maria did not say on the voice mail. They told me Maria works in a department that made me guess that she was calling about the IOU on my contract for a carpet cleaning/dye, so I wanted to schedule that appointment at the same time I brought in my car to pick up my plate. Additionally, after I signed the paperwork for the vehicle, the sales manager, of all people, brought out my one key. It would have been nice to know that they only had one key before I signed because the keys for keyless entry and auto start are not cheap. He told me he would call the former owner because he knew her and she said she had a key. He did not or could not get in touch with her, so I also requested you make a second key and have it when I pick up my car. Finally, the maintenance light came on the day after I left the lot because apparently you let me leave the lot without an oil change, which I had to pay for later that week, so I requested a free alignment in exchange. I told the final person I spoke to on the phone, someone in Maria s department, all of these things. I asked her to escalate these concerns to the proper party and respond. I waited two weeks and made a follow-up call but no one called me back.
On or about August 30, I had to find out from my father that you got my license plate in because for some reason even though I'm the registered owner of the vehicle, your company continues to contact him with information about my vehicle (including the link to this survey and some additional service appointment you made for my vehicle without asking) because he emailed one time inquiring about whether you still had the car on the lot.

When he forwarded me the email about the license plate, I emailed back also noting all the info in the conversation following the call from Maria. I waited one week and NO ONE RESPONDED TO MY EMAIL EVEN THOUGH YOU EMAILED ME FIRST. I emailed again, and finally Mr. Galvan made an appointment for me to take care of all of those issues.

I brought my car in at the time that I made the appointment for, but no one there knew why I was in and they couldn't find the email in the Mr. Galvan's emails, so I pulled out my phone to show them. Then I was told, surprise, it would take at least a week to dye my carpet (that person is only in on Friday so I know that that happened the day after I brought my car in), get my license plate, get an alignment, and get a new key. Although you provided me with a nice enough rental during that time, it is unreasonable that it take one full week to do those things. If Volvo couldn't make me a new key until the next week, you should have told me that before I brought my car in and perhaps I would have scheduled the work the following week.

When I got there one week later to pick up my car, it did not have the license plate on it. By this point, my temporary tag was expired. I certainly will not be "servicing" my car with you because it's more work for me than you.

They have so many certified used cars to choose from and after stopping at many Mazda dealers in Houston, I found the clear lake location to have the best selection. My girlfriend and I were looking for a new Mazda CX-5 for her, and currently living in the DFW area, we looked at the dealers in the area. Unfortunately some of the games they played with us really turned us off. I figured why not look in Houston, and I discovered Demontrond Mazda. That s when I contacted them about a particular CX-5, and I was connected with the friendliest, most knowledgeable salesman I ve ever done business with: Kenny Froisy. He instantly gave me a transparent price quote (most competitive price too) that broke down the price. We agreed on the price online, and I drove up from DFW to meet with him at opening. They honored all their price quotes, were extremely friendly and knowledgeable, and took care of us quickly and efficiently. I have never had a better experience with a dealership than I have had with Kenny and the Demontrond Mazda staff. I went looking at Mazda of Clear Lake expecting the same kind of car I was seeing at other dealerships, but I ended up being very surprised at how much Mazda has upped their game. I was so impressed with the car itself and the attention I received that I left with a brand new CX 5!
Kenny met me at the door and answered all of my questions and concerns, without all the BS other dealerships try to push on you. He and his manager did everything possible to make sure that I was getting what I wanted and leaving happy. They even went out of their way to make the numbers line up in a way that fit my needs. I bought a Mazda CX9 this week =) Could not be happier with my experience. My sales person was Juan Tapia and I highly recommend him! I had a bad experience at a previous dealership (not Mazda) and Juan was a breath of fresh air. He was knowledgeable, patient and friendly. This was my first new car buying experience and he helped to make it painless as possible. If your are in the market for a new Mazda, Juan is your man!

After communicating by email with Kenneth Froisey, we finally decided to come in for a test drive and possibly purchase the vehicle that same night. We brought our TrueCar certificates that Kenneth Froisey responded to, after we asked him to RECONFIRM and double check the price quote he had provided, because the drive out to Clear Lake for us was almost 1 hour from home.

We get there, the first CX-5 Grand Touring they had ready for us to test drive was dirty. It had mud on the car, all over the tires, and the engine sounded really bad.
David Turner insisted the car was just warming up. I refused to get into the car and requested that he pull up another vehicle.

The second car was fine. After test driving it, we sat down and got the paperwork filled out. We asked David Turner one last time about the price, to make sure we were all on the same page from what Kenneth Froisey had quoted us. David Turner confirmed.

After having me sign the paperwork to run my credit, David Turner came back and told us that Kenneth Froisey misquoted us, and the true price was about $3,000 MORE than the drive out price that we were told. We explained that we asked Kenneth Froisey to reconfirm his quote MANY times, and showed Dustin Simon (sales manager) the email between us and Kenneth Froisey that clearly said the price for the Grand Touring with Tech. Pkg.

We left this place extremely upset, and wasted a whole lot of time driving, only to be screwed by these people by pulling my credit, THEN trying to trick me into purchasing a car more than the price promised.

I have purchased two CPO cars, the CX-5 and CX-9 GT more recently. The first car experience was good and so was the second one. However 4 weeks into the CX-9 when I noticed a crack out of nowhere on the front bumper with no impact done, I was told by the sales team that they won t do anything about it since it s changed ownership and long time has passed. Also the service director Brian didn t do much to chase it with Mazda. Ya well, thanks for nothing since it was still under warranty.
Update- 03042020: so they have a new service team in place now under DeMontrond. The new team under the new service director Austin is transparent and professional. After casually telling Austin about my front bumper crack, he got it replaced with Mazda and I got the car back in two weeks. Great job Austin and team!!.

We went in to view the options and check about trading in my '12 Cruze. We worked with Marco and he was great. Opted to get the 2020 Mx5 RF and it is amazing. Marco and the rest of the staff there were nice, informative and fair with all that we discussed. Since taking it home Marco has also been super prompt at answering my questions and followups for the add-ons we ordered.

If their service keeps up like this, we'll be part of the demontrond family for quite some time.

This review comes after our fourth purchase from Mazda of Clear Lake. Our sales consultant this time was David Garcia. We keep coming back because they truly try to get us the best deal, and we never feel pressure to buy extras we don't want. We never have regrets after buying a vehicle from them.

EDITED FROM OLDER REVIEW: I read the previous negative reviews of this dealership, and hoped my own experience would be better. I was wrong. I bought a Certified Pre-Owned Mazda 3 with 38,000 miles that did NOT meet the requirements of the CPO program, and it cost me $$$ out of pocket to correct the deficiencies.

The day after buying the car one tire blew out, and the tire store where I went for service warned me that 3 of the 4 tires did not meet their recommended minimum tread depth. The 4th tire had already been replaced, but did not match the other three. So I ended up putting 4 new tires on the car after just one day.

A couple of weeks later, the battery died and tested as "Bad", which I had to replace, again at my expense. And when I took the car to a Mazda dealer in Dallas to have the A/C looked at, they told me that the recommended 30,000 mile service had not been done, which again I had to pay for.

The problem was that I live and work far from Mazda of Clear Lake and could not easily take it back there. I thought by buying a "Certified Pre-Owned" car I would be safe in avoiding these sorts of problems, but I wasn't. Let the buyer beware.

I dealt directly with Chris Danzell and had an awesome experience. That's a weird thing to write about buying a car, I know.

I had 8 different places competing for my business. Clear Lake was actually the second-to-lowest bidder. Their price was low enough to make a few others drop out of the running, and the true low price bidder had tried to pull some shenanigans on me, telling me Clear Lake was being dishonest. After doing some fact checking, I discovered that Chris and the team had been ONE HUNDRED PERCENT on the level, honest, and forthright. This made me drive right by the "true" low bidder, and make the out-of-the-way trip to Clear Lake to make the deal.

At the dealership, everything was straight forward. They only casually mentioned the extended warranty and other add-ons - no hard sell. And Chris took about 10 minutes post-sale to sit in the car with me and go through every single detail about the navigation, stereo, and other functions. (I'm a geek, so learning about all the alerts and settings - ones I didn't know about - was awesome).

He then followed up with a couple emails post-sale, asking me if I had a good experience, etc. No form letters or cheesy sales tactics. I'm pretty sure most people rate the car buying experience somewhere down near the level of public speaking, falling from a cliff, or having a tooth pulled. I was in and out of Clear Lake in about an hour, and the experience couldn't have been better.

Buyer beware!!! My husband and I went there with a pre-approval from our bank. Our sales person, Ken, told us they could do a better deal. My husband agreed to one credit pull. Little did we know upon purchasing the car and returning home we were inundated with emails saying we'd had a hard credit pull TWENTY-ONE times!!!! Seriously damaging his credit score. They are not to be trusted!

I was not looking forward to hasseling with a dealership to get a descent deal but I had no choice. I went to Mazda of Clear Lake. I was lucky enough to bump into Christopher Danzell, my car salesman. He made the whole process easy and quick. He got me a fair price and was transparent through out the whole process. This is a hard balance in sales. After doing some market research, we decided to buy a Mazda. My experience with the service department has been wonderful.
I moved to the area about 3 years ago and have a Mazda CX-9. Dustin and his team have taken care of me and my vehicle with great expertise and personal interest.
My car is getting older and will be passed on to my daughter as her first vehicle. As such, Dustin and Mikal make sure that it is kept in safe conditions and when there have been large repair bills, they have offered solutions. Mazda has a financing option for customers who can't or don't want to bite of paying the whole amount upon pick up. They also offer loaners to customers who will be without a vehicle during longer repairs.
A convenience that most dealerships have done away with.
Needless to say, I love my Mazda and I love the team at Mazda of Clear Lake for taking care of us!!

We bought a used 2001 Nissan Maxima with 105K mile...

We bought a used 2001 Nissan Maxima with 105K miles about a month ago. We knew that the car would probably have some issues soon. Pretty normal for a car of this age, right? However, our mechanic just told us that the catalytic converter needs to be replaced. With the state of the catalytic converter, it won't be able to pass next time it is inspected. Understandable for a 13 year old car. .

Except that Mazda of Clear Lake had inspected the car themselves within the last two months and it shouldn't have passed their inspection. Either they were lazy and passed it without checking the emissions or they lied and passed the inspection just to get it off the lot. They neglected to tell us about something that should have been a known issue.

Either way, we won't be buying new or used vehicles from them ever again.

MAZDA... What can I say, the customer service at this dealership is AWESOME!! Every time I went in the associates new what they where talking about and are always so polite!!
I finally bought my Mazda and it is beyond amazing and the dealership made me feel like a new family member... I am the one with allot of questions about everything... Lol! I would recommend this dealership hands down!!

Came in for an appointment regarding a recall. I was also interested on getting a quote for AA/CarPlay upgrade. The service guy who helped me got me checked in and taken care of quickly. Told me it would probably take about an hour, hour and a half to be finished with the recall. No biggie. Turns out they got done way earlier than expected. Service crew (in the shop and at the desk) are awesome!
