Have only given 2 stars as I felt they took a long time to do my claim. Haven settled the claim the cost should have been past onto the other driver insurance company as I feel my car insurance has risen due to the accident. Would not go to these Solicitors on a personnel basis they were recommended by my Insurance company.

Tried using them through my John Lewis Home Contents cover. After 3 phone calls with Paralegals got nowhere. Each one gave a different scenario. The first one could not answer my query and said I would need to go to the Leeds office. The Leeds office did not call me as promised, instead I had 2 calls from their Bristol office. As I live in Cheshire Bristol is too far to go. Intend to phone John Lewis to investigate. I shall probably just go to a solicitor in Chester and pay the bill.

Appalling. Completely unable to progress my claim....

Appalling. Completely unable to progress my claim. Never able to speak to the same person so there is no continuity.

Each time someone rings me they just mumble my case notes at me.

I didn't choose to use this company - I had my insurance with a decent reputable company and through a series of underwriters and sub-contracting out I'm stuck dealing with this completely hopeless organisation.

My legal case has dragged on for nearly a year and they keep calling me and asking the same question. Now I am facing legal action from the third party for failing to negotiate.

A dangerously low standard of performance from a disorganised outfit staffed by seemingly semi-literate drones.

After Having to deal with a tribunal matter we go referred to this firm and all I can say is what a pleasure to work with Jonothan Scollen. It has been a thought few months however Jonothan and their team work really hard to take all the pressure off of us and take charge of the matter. The issue got resolved thanks to Jonothan. I can not recommend Lyson Davidson and specially Jonothan enough. Super professional and amazing service during these stressful times.

This is the first time I've had to use solicitors in relation to a road traffic accident so I was a little sceptical to begin. However LD soon put me at ease by keeping me informed each step of way either via email or telephone.
I would highly recommend this firm as they cannot be faulted for their professionalism.

These solicitors helped me when I had a bump in my car that was not my fault. They pursued the claim even when the other party and their solicitors denied liability and were prepared to go to court to get justice for me. They sent letters to update me on the process and was very professional and helpful.

The reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that they however, were about to give up - just before the court case and wrote to me to suggest I accept a 50/50 liability as there were no witnesses. Fortunately at the "11th hour" the other party's solicitor suddenly accepted liability which made my insurance premium immediately drop. I was also able to get back my excess. I still feel these solicitors did a sterling job - despite the cold feet at the end! thanks

I have found many of the poor reviews on this firm to be in line with own experience. I have taken the matter up with the Financial Ombudsman service against the insurer LV, (who use ARC insurance who say they have no record of my claim ) for using Lyons Davidson. After 14 months of very poor service and numerous complaints to both Lyons Davidson and the insurer LV have now indicated they are reviewing their relationship with this firm in light of the many complaints they have had. I will now have to start again with a new firm. The insurance policy in my experience sold to me by LV for legal expenses is not fit for purpose.

We were represented by Lyons Davidson after a 3rd party reversed into us while he was parking and we were stationary. It was all eventually resolved and we received our excess back and were credited back the full NCB period, within 6 months.
I am giving only 4* rating as it all took a long time, but that may just be the industry.

Belief me guys and tells these people don't even deserve the one star they deserve negative.They bully their clients into accepting deals they don't want to .And condone bullying of their clients by other parties .If you are in ac100% win case they will let you down big time.My advice is stay away at all costs .Go to a more reputable local lawyer on a no win no fee ..Even if this is the company your insurance uses .They are useless I PROMISE YOU . Appalling service - unbeknown to me the initial case handler left without obtaining my signature on a document that was necessary for my case to progress, causing serious delays. Thereafter progress was slow, I hardly ever received updates, despite asking for them and only ever got progress when I submitted formal complaints (which were upheld. The complaints team were actually competent). The inefficiency and incompetence of this solicitor's practice in handling my no-fault accident caused me significant stress, I would never use them again. I'm only posting one star because zero is not an option.

Lyons Davidson were appointed by our insurers in July 2017 after an accident which was disputed by the third party involved. Our car was repaired immediately but we had to pay the excess. The other insurers immediately offered to go 50/50 on settlement. To cut a long story short, we ended up sueing in the small claims court, and in November 2018 won our case, with full recompense. Our solicitor on the day was very good, calm and very professional, unlike the other guy, who didn't have a clue, it must have been his first day! We had no real issues with Lyons Davidson at all, these things take time.

I had a car crash on December 22nd 2018. This morning 12th April I've just had a text through stating my claim money will be in my account within ten days! Absolutely fantastic company to deal with, I was a bit unsure due to the reviews and the fact they was a free legal cover on my insurance but they've proved me wrong. 5 stars throughout this whole experience. My solicitor Harry Tingy explained everything clearly and always said at the end of a call "if you're unsure please contact me" little things like that go a long way!

The insurance company were rubbish (LV=) and the first contact I had at Lyons Davidson was really slow and hard to reach, but then I got Emily as a contact and she was brilliant, efficient and helpful, couldn't fault the performance. Plus we won the claim in the end!
1 star off for a slow start and the fact that the legal profession still seem to be in the last century with regard to communication.

Solicitors were appointed by my insurance company, following damage to my car by a taxi driver, whilst parked on a car park. Although the other party admitted liability there was some difficulty recovering the excess I had paid prior to the repair. Solicitor solved the issue within a few months without having to go to Court and I received a cheque for the excess I had paid. Thank you!

My car was sideswiped by a car travelling in the opposite direction avoiding a pothole. My insurers C.I.S. settled the claim, but the other insurers apparently did not pay the Coop, therefor I was asked to claim on behalf of the Coop. As far as I am aware this has now been settled.

From assignment by LV, Lyons Davidson were overly pessamistic about the outcome. Internal handovers between staff were not communicated with me (the client). Responses to messages via LD's online portal or direct email either did not appear or were too slow.

LD appeared to have insufficient leverage over 3rd party's insurer (Gefion) who delayed and obfuscated throughout the process. (The "code of conduct" between insurers seems not designed to serve the insured party drivers.)

Quite the most dreadful company I have ever had the misfortune to encounter. The whole team came over a amateurs. Nobody ever spoke to anyone else in the organisation, no-one did what they said they would do. Most of the people appeared to be kids who had no idea what they were talking about and certainly did not understand what they were doing. And, as for the mistakes they made, a five year old could have done better. Avoid at all cost.

Did not do much but sent me a paper to proceed with court action. This was not necessary as I did the admin for LV= and Lyons Davidson and made a few phone calls and emails to the other insurers who on the onset admitted liability. They paid the claim to LV= which was a good outcome. I wish these firms would put the work in for what they are paid for without creating inconvenience. LV= should have dealt with the claim properly!

I had a mixed experience with Lyons Davidson in relation to my car accident and their help with claiming my excess back from the at fault insurer. On one side, they successfully reclaimed the full amount and fought the case to a win for myself. This was the positive part.

The negative part was their lack of communication and client service. I was continually the one to make contact, request updates and phone to get any level of status on the case. I was even told I would receive calls back, which were not returned. And when I did get hold of someone to discuss my case, the level of information I received was poor.

If they could resolve their customer service issues, their service would be 100% exemplary. I don t understand why they got the hard bit right in winning the case but couldn t do the easy parts such as simple communication updates.

1 star is generous. Would not recommend this solicitors. Got recommended by my insurance lawyers to go with. After 6 weeks only had a single letter and no contact with anyone. When tried to ring up to see where everything was up to was waiting for 15 minutes and i hung up. After this still no contact was made. Gone back to original solicitors and wouldn't recommend these to any.

But after reading other reviews i got off lucky by getting out before they actually started any work on my claim. Would stay away i were you.

Edit: Reply to the company's response. Had already spoken to their customer services team and non of them seemed bothered about what i told them. Their response on here is just so they can save face and look like a "good" company to be in business with.

I received a first class service throughout the procedure to procure a conclusive settlement from the other party's insurers who had to be served with a notice to take the issue to court as they were reticent to accept due cause despite overwhelming evidence from witnesses as to the cause. I am currently awaiting settlement for a non fault accident in July 2017. I have asked several times if my thoughts of the Medical facility I was sent to for evaluation was disclosed to the Medical staff jeopardising my assessment with no response. Despite needing surgery and having several months off work from a self employed job, I was offered a derisory sum based on the medical review. Emails & letters go unanswered. They appear to take the money from the insurance and do little to earn it. I am fed up with the service I have received and considering jumping ship to another firm. We were recommended to Lyons Davidson by our Mortgage Co,We were having a neighbourly
dispute over an Alleyway that we had been using for 30 years.
Micheal Wilcock who was our contact at LD acted in a throughly professional way
throughout the procedure taking time to explain how each legal step worked,the 3 assistants
that attended Court & a meeting with us were also thorough in their work.
Myself & my Wife could not of hoped or wished for a better Team to work with,needless to say
the Barrister on the day completed the job by winning our case on the door steps of the Court
without actually having to go through the final testimonies in front of the Judge.

Same as other reviews on here. Shocking customer service. No-one seems to have any detailed understanding on claims law. Request calls back and never recieve. My case goes back to 2016 and they still haven't progressed it any further. Totally incapable of giving me timelines for resolution. Already had two case "advisors" since my case began and my third is due to start "in a couple of weeks"

AVOID LIKE THE PLAGUE IF YOU HAVE A CHOICE. This is LV's nominated solicitors so I'm stuck. Formal complaints and ombudsmen seem to be the only option for me now.

Having been involved in an accident through no fault of my own I never thought I would get my excess premium back seeing as the truck and driver that hit me was Hungarian who also claimed no fault. But photos proved otherwise and thanks to Lyons Davidson today I have indeed received the said excess payment. Many thanks to all at Lyons Davidson who were involved from another very happy client. Having sent two emails to see how my case was progressing i have recieved no reply. I was told i would be kept upto date as to how my claim was proceeding but having emailed twice and no reply i decided to ring to see if i would have any joy that way but having been held on telephone for ages i cut off as it was a total waste of time. All i wanted to know was how my case was proceeding but i have been totally ignored. Could somebody at Lyons Davidson please let us know how to exactly to communicate with you because emailing or telephoning gets you nowhere. My case is being dealt with by Rebecca Greig.
My case was finally settled on the 28th may 2019 it has now been nearly six weeks and lyons davidson have not sent me payment. I emailed and a week later was told my case handler was off work. Then i recieved email on on 3rd of july to say that they have today chased the company and told they will recieve payment today. How long it will take for lyons davidson to pay is anyones guess. I simply cant understand why they treat customers so bad. Everything is so slow as if there is no care for the customer. I have dealt with solicitors in the past and this is not how they normally behave. I hope lyons davidson have the decency to now resolve my issue at least with a slight urgency.
