Overall our stay is was okay. But I can not over look the high price per night for what you get. First the room description said a microwave was included, turns out unless you have the themed or higher price suite there is not, but you can walk down to vending area and use the one there. Second the fabric shower curtain in our room was moldy, tub dirty, and there was no body soap or conditioner. My 3rd issue is there is not a hot tub or really much for adults. Everything over priced.
All of the other attractions are extra and expensive. We are usual guests at wilderness resort which per night costs are the same, so needless to say we are disappointed. would much rather spend the time for the trip to the dells to go to wilderness then come here again

The trip started as an absolute nightmare. The room wasn't ready until 7, when we were here at 4. There is absolutely zero parking on one side of the hotel which isnt a huge deal, but none the less semi annoying. After we got in our room things got better but not bu much. The hotel is not dirty just not exceptionally clean. I'm not going to bore you with anymore details but, being from wisconsin I'll just go to the Wisconsin dells. Initially my review was going to be this place sucks all the wieners, now it's just ok.

The experience started off great, it looks awesome from the outside... Definitely could use some more signage on the main roads but not necessary. As you walk in you see the Waterpark through the windows. We waited in line for about 5 minutes and we went to our room. The room was OK, definitely stayed in nicer rooms but it wasn't bad. They were missing a microwave but had 2 big showers and a nice balcony. Day 1 went great, my 6 and 4 year olds loved the Waterpark and most things were the perfect size for them. Lifeguards are abundant and attentive. Felt very safe the whole time. There is not alot to do if you have younger children. Also my 4 yr old could only go on about half of the slides even with me riding with him.... Night 1 we realize we have the loudest Air conditioning unit ever and it squeaks and bangs. Okay well. I can't sleep through that so I figured I'd relax. In the jacuzzi, When I turned on the Jacuzzi black stuff shot out and filled up the tub.... Day 2 was not so great, we wake up to a text from Great Wolf saying the Waterpark opens late at 10am instead of 9am. I ask why and am not given a answer, I take a photo of the schedule provided in the room and ask for clarification and get an apology. OK kinda disappointed we lose an hour but whatever, so we clean up eat some breakfast watch TV and kill some time. 9:40 we head down to the front desk to check out and we see people in the Waterpark..... When we get to the front desk we ask and she says "yeah it doesn't open until 10" we say "OK why are there people in there" she says "they are employees" without even going to see that CHILDREN are running around in the Waterpark. Either Great Wolf Lodge employs child labor ORRR those weren't employees at all...... The employees at the front desk are trained on the POS system but I'm not sure they have ever helped a customer or have any skills that would make people think they could. Absolutely worthless.

They say a manager will call.... We go in and play in the water until noon when a manager calls. She did not act like she cared, she gives me excuses about them not being ready to open yet and they are still figuring some things out. Said they were opening late for "no real reason" and 1 day last week they didn't open until 1pm...Was this information supposed to make me feel better? Because it did not work, it just made me even more sure I won't make this mistake again. She eneded up offering me $100 credit..... After I wasted more of my time with that I went over to Taco restaurant in the Waterpark and ordered 2 plain tacos with cheese, 5 minutes later I get tacos with everything on them. I tell them it's wrong and the chef starts to pick each piece of cilantro and onion off one by one.......... I tell them they need to remake them, and they did without hesitation. They also gave me free burrito bowl because the lady who took my order was rude and the chef even heard it. The head chef at the taco restaurant is awesome and definitely cares about his product. The Waterpark could have been designed alot better for kids, both of my kids feet and knees are raw from the edges of the pools because they don't have enough ladders and ways out of them. They have a pool with basketball hoops but 4 basketballs? The outside "Waterpark" is a cold pool..... Most of the cleaning staff we ran into could not speak English and we saw them enter rooms with customers inside, one of them the woman on the inside screamed and the employee shut the door and laughed. This used to be Key lime cove before it was shut down for bed bugs and caught on fire. They spent alot of money on the remodel and then they filled it with employees who don't seem to care about the guest experience.

Took an hour longer for them to prepare my room. The room balcony that I paid extra for was looking out to nothing but construction. The shower inside the room did not drain properly and literally overflowed into the bathroom while on.

Don t waste your money. Rooms are expensive and you have to pay extra for everything else in the resort which is also overpriced. The computer system sucks and goes down every hour. You have to wait past check in just to get into your room.

We had a pretty good experience at GWL. The water park had areas for every age group. My son is a tall 5 yo and he got to go on everything except 2 big slides. They had planned activities throughout the whole weekend from the time you woke up to a dance party at 9pm. The staff was super friendly and was always asking if we needed anything even sending text messages checking in on us. They did have a power outage that was beyond their control and only effected a few things in the building. That only lasted a couple hours but they made sure to keep us updated on the status. My only complaint is the prices for the extra activities (majiquest, bowling, arcade) were a little high. I would recommend this place to people with kids of any age.

My husband and I recently surprised our four and nine year old with a weekend getaway to the Great Wolf Lodge. It was a really great experience the only thing I would change some what is the check-in process. With everything nowadays being driven by technology....after you check in a text is sent to you to let you know that your room is ready...our check-in time was running 30 minutes behind but I was given a $50 credit towards our room for the inconvenience. We stayed in a family Suite. They do have a valet service upon arrival that is not affiliated with the hotel so be mindful of that because we used valet but wasn't told that it was a separate charge. The parking lot is really nearby so you could park your own car. There are places to eat within the lodge serving pizza, tacos and more. There is also a Ben and Jerry's ice cream shop as well as a Dunkin Donuts and even a convenience market that serves liquor and wine. If you wanted to you really don't have to leave the lodge but there are nearby food places as well like KFC McDonald's and White Castle. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Although much smaller than its cousins in Wisconsin dells, this is a perfect quick getaway for Chicagoans. The rooms are cozy and clean. We want on a Wednesday this summer and it was not crowded. Their are about 5 big waterslides and a playground for kids, and splash pad for the little ones. There are a number of activities besides in the water, like climbing wall, bowling and high ropes course. There are a number of restaurants. The only reason I give it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of two reasons. The first, while the resort is not the high priced to stay at, it is very expensive to buy things there. The second, is that I got a piece of glass in my foot while in the wave pool. Other than that it was a very good stay.

The stay was great and I was surprised by the size...

The stay was great and I was surprised by the size of the water park. I originally thought the cost of a single night king-size room was a bit much, but after being there and seeing the size of the water park, it made sense. Considering the fee for entry to a similar water park being $30- $50 a person. The room was also surprising in that it had an amazing spa whirlpool that made me wish I could afford one. And since I was staying in the cheapest suite, I suppose they are all outfitted with one. The water park itself has 5 water slides for "big kids/adults" (or of being over a certain height), and 3 slides for little ones. They also rent little life jackets and water proof diapers for convenience. Towels are free. The lazy river runs around the whole place and takes about 5 minutes to float from start to finish. Food is typical mid-grade hotel restaurant fare... okay quality, yet somewhat pricey. All in all, it was a great experience to stay for a night. And may be worth staying two. Beyond that, I'm not sure the exact same slides and lazy river would continue being exciting for the price. Your kids will love it and with that whirlpool tub in the room, it would even be a fun getaway for a couple looking for something different and unique for the weekend.

Our stay was bad enough that we considered leaving.
1. Safety: our neighbors were so unruly that we had to call hotel security, who eventually called the police and removed them. We also were warned by other guests at the water park to watch our things as many people had their items stolen from them.
2. Comfort: the beds were so uncomfortable (both beds and the sofa bed) that no one in my family slept. Either the heat/AC or something else in the room smelled bad. We asked for a room change and was told there were no open rooms, so the hotel was clearly oversold.
3. Food: the food options are all so unhealthy and any "healthy" options are tasteless. The margaritas/daiquiris had no alcohol in them either.
4. The tubes (the only way to get into the lazy river...) are VERY hard to find - you have to wait for a long time to find a person who is done with it at the exit of the lazy river (not a good experience with a 4 yo) while the ones "for rent" were oversold and not available all afternoon.

Ways to improve: Create a wing where you upgrade the decor, beds, AC, everything. Offer food options that aren't so processed. Don't oversell your hotel. Have more adult employees so that your customers feel like they are taken care of, instead of hiring teenagers. Offer some premium services so that customers feel more like they're in a hotel instead of a trailer park.

We mostly enjoyed our stay except for the fact there was no hot tub to warm up in and the actual temperature of the water was cool. Our kids were going in and taking hot showers. We have been to GWL in Traverse City and did not experience that.

We had a great time. A true resort style hotel stay. The kids loved all the activities. Good customer service. The water park is great and not to crowded. The only negative is be prepared to spend money. Everything costs extra here. A money saving tip----buy a souvenir cup from the water park on day one. It's free refills every 5 minutes for the whole week. It beats having to spend 3 dollars each bottle of pop or water from the vending machine or at the restaurants. They have a coke machine in the water park and another one on the bottom floor near the arcade (can use when the water park is closed). 15 dollars gets you drinks for a week. The beds were very comfortable and the room was well appointed. The wolf pass is worth it if your going to be there for a few nights. Even after you use your free activity it's only 4 dollars to add another game on instead of 8-15 dollars it costs ala cart. A huge negative for me was the cost to rent a locker in the water park. I think this should be included for hotel guests or at least reduced for hotel guests. It was a sore point. I don't think as guests of the hotel that we should have to spend 15 dollars to safely store our belongings for a few hours while we are in the water park. This should be an "ammenity" to ensure your guests feel their belongings are safe. Even if they reduced it to 5 dollars would be acceptable. The 15 dollar charge for guests to store their stuff for a few hours left a sore spot on the stay. Over all I give the stay and the hotel 5 stars!!

We surprised our son with an overnight stay there for his seventh birthday. The rooms were comfortable, with plenty of room for us, and he had an absolute blast. We got the birthday package which got him some surprises in the room, and a special headband to show it was his birthday. Anywhere he went with it on, the staff members were constantly wishing him a happy birthday. I would rate it a little pricey, especially if you want to do the extra events, but the indoor water park is included in the room price, and is plenty of activity, for anyone.

I booked 2 rooms next to each other. I arrived at 4pm (check in) and only one room was ready. I waited until 5pm for the other room. It got switched to down the hall and I had to have the whole group return to the front desk to re scan their wrist bands. We walked all the way back to the room and no ones key/wristband would open the door! Very disappointing check in process!

The slides are very fun. I wish I could have went down the littlest slides with my 1 year old. She is too small to go herself. Also, a hot tub would be a great addition.

The waterpark is small, no hot tubs, the lazy river is 3 feet deep. The wave pool is very small. No menus for the restaurants in the room. TV broke and the shower broke on our one night stay. No microwaves in the rooms. If you want to eat in a sit down restaurant, make a reservation or you'll not get in due to the limited seating. Staff didn't appear to be well trained, couldn't answer questions about where things were in the hotel. Most of the staff were teenagers.

Overall, a nice hotel. The staff are truly what ruined my experience. Many staff had no name tags on, and if they did they were concealed. Staff was in their phones, disengaged with their work, and appeared to lack confidence in their daily tasks. This included many life guards, which made me feel uneasy.

We have been waiting over 3 hours for our room. This place is nothing but excuses and more excuses but they sure didn t hesitate to bill the credit card as soon as they could! There is no one here that is in charge and no one cares. The latest comments included that if the manager didn t have to talk to people who have been waiting hours for rooms, he could see what was going on. Now there s corporate priorities for you - let s avoid the customers since as an organization we provide horrible customer service. Nothing we can do now!

We have been to several GWLs in other states and have never experienced such rude and unprofessional staff as here. I realize the corporate people don t care since they collect all upfront but if they had any class, or business acumen, they would be deeply embarrassed. My guess is they don t and they aren t.

We would give 0 stars if offered... Everything started off ok, however that was very short lived! We check in go to the water park as we wait on our room to get ready, We have 4 children with us so upon entering the water park they measure the younger children and put brackets on and explain they do that so they don t have to keep getting measured for each ride! Seems ok.... WRONG.... My son was harassed for 2 days by guard after guard and even the water park manager! For every 4 times he would go on his favorite slide he would be measured 5 times! Even with the bracket! It would be fine with one guard and not the next! After going through this for a couple of hours I ask the lady in the front and she said he is fine to go on everything! Well that was a lie, after running up and down the stairs a few more times we were tired of it and left for the night only for a night full of tears and questions about why are they picking on me dad? Why don t they like me? why do they let the kids smaller than me go but they said I was too little?
This continued the second day for a few hours.... ok to ride ok to ride switch guards not ok to ride ok to ride... finally we are approached by the Park manager he sees the bracket and makes him measure yet again!!! He says his height is fine and he would let the guards know he is fine.... right after that we go back up to the slide for him to get turned down again at this point we packed up and left!!!! This place is a joke! On top of this when the room was ready the pillows on the bunk bed were stained up, had to get different towels due to what appeared to be blood stains on one and a wash cloth that was wet and dirty as if it had been used refolded and put back on the cabinet! Never Again... we planned this weekend out to get the kids a break since they start school in a few weeks and have been locked in the house since March thinking it would help but to only find out it hurt them more!!!

This is the second time we have visited. The water park is alot warmer then it was last time we visited in August, however the air temperature once exiting the waterpark is frigid. The pizza restaurant is average they advertise in room that you can place an order over the phone but then when you call they say you can't. The food prices are high because you are in a lodge/water area which was expected. We went out to local food restuarants to eat most meals since its cheaper and better food.

We arrived to the hotel during a power outage in the area and had to go waste an hour. Beyond their control but they did say they would text me when it came on which they did not. They did have the room ready early which was a huge relief as we had 2 younger children with us. The room definitely had not been dusted on either side and I found nuts from prior guests on the floor still. We decided upon the one grill place for lunch as there are only 2 options that or pizza. The one Bar Timbers was not open the entire stay of Saturday and Sunday. The 2 bars near the pool closed at 7:30 and 8:00 on a Saturday. The lockers were all closed as they were not working except for one set of maybe 40. We purchased a pup pass for our children and they were excited to color a pillowcase but unfortunately they were completely sold out and didn't even carry toddler size t-shirts to color. The arcade games take 8 tokens at least on most games. My mom tried taking a shower after a long day at the water park only to find out we had no hot water in the deluxe suite room that I paid over $500 for for one night. I messaged our private guide only to hear she was sorry they were aware some of the rooms were having issues but they didn't have the decency to notify people or offer other options. She did take $100 off the room after I made her aware of our dissatisfaction. The "character " breakfast I paid for had NO CHARACTERS. Apparently the only time they come out is at almost 11 (1 time!!) When its the" busiest". They should advertise this or not sell it as a character breakfast! We didn't see a single character in 2 entire days there.

New years eve made our 4th visit to Great Wolf Lodge in 2019 at the Gurnee, IL location. They are very consistent with maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
We enjoy the spacious rooms, the size and cleanliness of the waterpark and the local restaurants in the surrounding area.

I have been to GW in WI Dells. Thought that accommodations would at least equal the Dells...sorely mistaken. I guess when they closed Key Lime Cove to do renovations they were only interested in the waterpark.

The rooms are in serious need of upgrade. Pleather couch and chairs with cusions that were recovered in a blue material, obviously couldn't see fit to at least match the cushion to the furniture. The furniture in general appeared to be used and abused. The paint on the walls is dark brown, the room looked like a dungeon. The sliding door to the bathroom had a broken latch and some one had a bright idea to put a giant metal plate to operate the door, it not only looked hideous, but was so touchy that you almost ended up locked in to the bathroom. The mirror in the bathroom had a giant footprint that was obviously drawn with a black sharpie, obviously an economical attempt at decorating the room. The hallways had large strips of blue tape holding corner edges to the wall.

I mean seriously, how much does this place make in a weekend, and they can't swing for doing repairs that are needed correctly.

We only overnighted, because we were celebrating my grandsons birthday. I think next time it would be worth the extra drive to go to the Dells or even to Sheboygan for a trip to the water park.

All in all was very disappointed with the run down condition of the hotel/waterpark. I really had higher expectations because Great Wolf has their name on it.

I went to have dinner for my nephew's 13th birthday and the place was massive! It made my boyfriend and me regret not spending the day there with the rest of our family. There's the huge water park, the arcade, mini golf, and so much more I can't even explain it all. All of my nieces and nephews had a blast and it sounds like the adults loved it too!

Visiting from out-of-state, I wanted to give my nephew and his family a free stay at this waterpark/hotel as a present. It was a spur of the moment thing and I made the reservation morning of July 1st for a 1 night stay for the same date. Did it online and it was around $300.00 for a standard 2-queen-bed room. It was actually expensive because later that day their website showed $159.00 rate for the same room which was not there when I made the reservation.

Since I am not going to be physically with them the hotel required credit card authorization, credit card images (front and back), and my driver's license as an ID which i dutifully provided. I even spoke to their manager Michelle W.

Late that night (11pm) my husband came home after making sure they were fine and he told me that my sister-in-law had to pay for the hotel stay, the present I gave them. How embarassing!!!! Plus all that paperwork for nothing. I called the manager-on-duty and he said he can't help me and to wait for Michelle the next day.

The funny thing is I called the hotel at 4 pm to check if the I can get the cheaper rate (which by the way I did not get) and at which time I gave them the reservation number and nobody mentioned that there was a problem with the reservation. WHAT A MESS!!!!!!

Well, this was the first time and will probably be the last because if the initial point of contact (the reservation period) was already a mess, how can someone expect anything different while at the hotel?

Disclosure: I did not go in the hotel but my children did and they said that the waterpark was small relative to the Wisconsin water parks that we frequent.
