The location is great.

The location is great.
The entrance of the subway port authority station is right next to the hotel, so it is very good to go to some point.
Friendly staff and good breakfast.
Also, if you go to New York, go here.
I don't think there is a need to reserve the upper floors at an additional cost.

I had two rooms that was ajoined..In one room there was no cups and no towels, there was water bottles under the bed that belonged to guest prior to our stay. The rooms were pretty clean other than the few things that was missing. The view of the city is nice. The customer service was nice and the staff are polite.

Terrible business practices, poor customer service, shadey credit card policies. On our honeymoon and the hotel told us our card was expired. They said it was expired because the hotel supposedly tried to charge the whole first night before we ever checked in. I showed them the credit card that was supposedly expired, it expire's in 2019. Please read below for the whole story.

Booked the hotel through a travel agency. Received a confirmation number and a credit card guarantee. Called the hotel 24 hours before to confirm my reservation for my honeymoon. The hotel said everything was in order and wanted to still confirm that we should be checking in between 7:30-8:00 pm on November 5th I confirmed. My wife and I leave from Washington State at 7am on the 5th, travel all the way to New York, and arrive at the Intercontinental hotel to check in at 7:47pm. The front desk tells us our reservation was cancelled because the hotel tried to charge us for the full first night at 3pm (before we ever checked in) and said our credit card was expired. I produced said expired credit card, it expire's in 2019. I asked why I had not been contacted or called about an expired card or that they had trouble running it. They said they run it once and terminate the reservation if it doesn't work. The hotel gave the room to someone else, And never contacted us or the travel agency. I called the credit card company and they said the card had never been run, never been denied, and that the travel plans were correct. When I told the manager this, she went into her office and came out 10 min later with a document that said the card was run at 5:56 pm. I asked about that, she said there is nothing they can do, but we could drive to their sister hotel. We paid for the cab fair ourselves and the other hotel manager had no idea about us being sent there. The manager we were referee to meet with didn't start their shift for a couple more hours. Luckily the other hotel had rooms, so we used the so called expired credit card at the new hotel it worked no problem.

I have been to this place for many years. But year after year I feel that the quality and customer service is going down hill. The water temperature is inconsistent and extremely hot even putting cold water on full blast and a little on the hot water. The front desk tries to upsell and get more a night with us. The $30 per day destination fee is crazy. However, it is convenient and located in prime location. Get a little sketchy at night tho.

The customer service was disappointing when I called on behalf of a company who purchases hundreds of rooms year round with the hotel and they want to nickel and dime when asking for a late check out extension by one hour for anywhere from $100 up to another night's stay

This is one of our most favorite hotels!! We stay here several times a year and hate leaving each time we check out. From the time we get to the hotel, we are met with smiles and greetings from all the employees we encounter. Everyone makes you feel welcome. The check-in/out process couldn't be any easier. Our reservations are always ready, and most times, we are upgraded to a better room. Granted, we are IHG Premier members, but it's still nice to be treated special.

The rooms are always clean and properly stocked. Only once did we have a problem with our room (issue with the TV) and it was resolved in less than 30 minutes from when we called the front desk.

They offer a wide variety of room service options. They are a little pricey, but you expect that when you're staying in a beautiful hotel in Times Square.

If you're in NYC and want a great place to stay, look no further than the InterContinental NYC.

A really nice hotel. We choose a room for three and it was spacious enough. I was worried because being in times square i thought that the rooms would be small but no they were really good. The staff was very nice and attentive, they helped us book tickets for some shows and tours without problem. Apart from that the buffet is so worth it. All kind of things fruits, eggs, dumplings, bacon , waffles and pancakes. The location was perfect just 5 minutes from the times square center.

I had requested the highest floor available prior to check in. We were placed on the 4th floor and was able to hear the subway moving underneath the ground. Front desk customer service could improve in terms of friendliness. However, the location of the hotel is its greatest asset.

I stayed here for a quick business trip last month and I was very happy with the whole experience

The staff where nice the decor was great and the rooms where good sized for Manhattan the room had a great view and a massive rainfall shower I would definitely recommend staying here if you want to be by time square but not on top of all the noise

Most ACCOMODATING and guest FRIENDLY hotel in town!!!

I can't be more grateful to this hotel and staff on shift, John and Julie.
So on July 13th, we went to the hotel we booked, a hilton garden inn, and was told that someone else was wrongly checked into our room and the guys on duty doesn't know how to resolve the issue and have to send us away. It was 2 am, we went through like a dozen hotels in NYC and all of them told us they were fully booked.
We were desparate when we wandered to Intercontinental. It was also completely booked, but the manager John and front desk lady Julie, were so so so compassionate and intend to figure out something for us. Finally they magically emptied a room and added bed there for us. Time was 4 am, and we were prepared to sleep on street if Intercontinental also reject us like the other dozen hotels.

Anyway, we must let everyone know how accomodating this hotel is! Plus the room and facility is very fancy too! We decide to always stay here for any other trips to NYC.

Despite the proximity of Times Square, a good group of musical theaters and a subway station and buses, the bustle is kept outdoors, on the street, and the views between skyscrapers from the rooms are all a classic , a show that is worth living when taking off (to discover, thanks to jet lag, that the city also sleeps).

For an Intercontinental it's just OK. Showers are the best in NYC. The staff is nice, but not great. The rooms are a bit worn. The bar closes too early. The Internet is slow. The TV singal is grainy. Things that matter when you're paying $450+ for a night.

Lots of hidden fees, include a $20 "amenities fee" that they spring on you when you're at the desk checking in - because they know you're not going to leave at that point. They won't budge on it. It's either fork over the extra $20, or leave.

I'm not a fan of someone lifting an extra $20 out of my pocket just because they feel like they can get away with it. And they do get away with it. Feels like there must be some kind of law to prevent this, but I'm sure they don't care.

Rooms were good, I had a good experience. It was a good price for having been so close to times square and being on New year's Eve. The room had full amenities and room service was comprehensive though it was not cheap.

I've only been here 1 out of 5 days, room is low and noisy, I think the gym is above or next to me bc I could hear that and the trains in addition to nor.al NYC noise.
Otherwise, so far, Nice hotel, great location. There is a resort fee which includes wifi but I have not been able to connect to wifi.
I expect to resolve that today.
I will update review after stay.

Handy for the Times square area, but far enough away from the bustle and noise. Join their loyalty program to get free internet. Staff friendly at check in, and quickly dealt with. I've been here a few times now and will return again.

I don t write many reviews, but I will on this Hotel. We are staying in room 2504 from 9/7/19 to 9/14/19. Someone walked in our room at 11:30 at night when I was getting our 3 year old asleep and the staff didn t seemed concerned about it at all. Let me repeat myself - the Hotel gave someone else a key to our room and they walked in. That is unacceptable to me, but apparently not to this hotel and staff. Amanda on the not staff gave a credit on 1 night, but not one other manager apologized. The said thing is my wife talked to 3 different people before our stay and during checkin about multiple split reservations and they assured us that wouldn t be an issue.

The Pros - location. This is about 1 block from Times Square and many of the Broadway Shows. Subway entrances are everywhere so it is very easy to get around. The view from our room was so ok as well.

Cons - this not more than a 3 star hotel. Period. I stayed in a Hampton inn in church falls VA and The Bristol in Bristol VA on this trip and they were both better quality than this hotel. The carpet is worn. Bed linens need to be replaced. The furniture is very worn. The bathroom is decent, but that s the only thing. Also, as I mentioned above someone was given a key by the front desk to our room and walked in.

No way is this a luxury Hotel.

The people at the front desk are very rude and do not help you at all. They have no business being in the Hotel industry. This is all about how you treat your guest and they have no clue.

TERRIBLE SERVICE. STOLEN ITEMS. RUDE STAFF. We came to New York for a good time and in return we get our THINGS STOLEN AND THROWN AWAY!! I'm very disappointed and DISGUSTED with this hotel. It deserves 0 STARS the staffs never around and theres no one to help with luggage. The front desk was very rude when we called them, they even HUNG UP ON ME! not a kind place at all I would never bring my family or children here!

Beautiful and clean hotel

Beautiful and clean hotel
The location is good.
Very close to Broadway theatres and it and time square is 5 minutes walk only from the hotel.
The rooms are clean and good size with an amazing view of skyline.

Great hotel, big room for the city and very clean and nice. Only downside of the hotel is the location, it's convenient to many things but it's not the nicest area (crowded, dirtier, too close to Times Square).

Visited in January 2019 and stayed in a Deluxe Room with 2 Double Beds. The room was tiny and had very dated furniture and fixtures. The hallways had very poor lighting and my overall assessment is that the facility requires an urgent refurbishment. The beds were very uncomfortable and lumpy indicating the mattresses were way past their 'use by' date. Service was't too bad but reception could have been a bit warmer toward guests. Close proximity to Times Square was a positive.

Booked for 2 nights and got rooms on the 16th floor. The room was hot and a pungent smell as if you are at a steakhouse when I checked in. Most importantly it looked smaller than advertised and any hotel in NYC would provide much more space for the same/lower rates. Tried cooling the room but slept off before I could notice any changes. Same happened on the second night Not going back again.Food served in room dinning was very bland and very late

Amazing! Stayed just before Christmas for our honeymoon and from moment we checked in, we knew it was going to be the best. Had a corner sky view room on floor 30 which had a great view over the city and river. Huge comfy bed and a bathroom with a shower bigger than my house! (Ok slight exaggeration but it is big!)
Location of hotel is fantastic for everything, taking only about 10 min to walk to the Rock and about 2 min to Times Square.
Definitely one to stay at again.

Room was nice and clean. Many of the stand members were nice but front desk was very rude. T.V went put and when we called them about it they were very rude and short with us. They did nothing to help us at all.

Beware the $100 deposit per night that we were not informed of. Led to an embarrassing situation where my card got declined. A simple message via email informing me of this would have sufficed. We paid $60 a day to upgrade our room, and while we got a room that was on a higher floor and the view was absolutely amazing, the room was smaller than our previous and missing amenities. Decor is outdated, mini bar and room service are ridiculously overpriced, 4 star hotel or not, a plate of scrambled eggs should not end up costing 50 dollars.

Nice hotel. Nice room. Eighth Avenue is really a garbage dump. Filthy. The $35 destination fee pushes me over the edge for some reason. I basically paid $55 for a plate of scrambled eggs. I would have paid $80 for the eggs but they allowed me to use the $25 food credit on the day I checked out. Sorry. Just the way I feel about it. Otherwise the hotel is nice if you don't mind the destination fee.

Corner room offers excellent views. Generally friendly team here, especially the valet team. Though no kettle for brewing tea is disappointing and charging $5 for luke warm water delivered by room service and waiting more than fifteen minutes each time was underwhelming at the least.

I totally loved the view!

I totally loved the view!
Of course do not expect New Yorkers customer service to be the best
