Horrible customer service. Laughed at me when I called back to pay with a check cause I lost my credit card and couldn t pay through their automated service after I talked to the same lady just prior. Got a call from an automated service yesterday saying pay to avoid termination, didn t know they meant you have less than 24 hours to pay or the power gets shut off and you have high fees to pay. No emails at all, if you are someone like me, when you see a random number or automated voices you don t answer or hang up as 90% of the time it s spam. Didn t get anything in the mail stating my account was in jeopardy, nothing. Called and explained to them it was an honest mistake for missing the bill especially when I had thought my automated payments were set up but clearly weren t and asked if it was possible to lower the high fee to reconnect since I did not mean to become delinquent. Aka 75 for reconnect then a $250 deposit on my next bill. Told me I didn t have enough history to lower the fee even though I ve lived here for 2.5 years and got an answer that well we have customers that have been with us for 20 years . Glad to feel they treat all their customers equally. If I could have avista for power instead of them I would but I m stuck with them due to my location. Cheers to the company that cares all about profits.
And I was actually considering applying to this place at one point, now it will never cross my mind after this is how this was handled

My grandmother has been a valued customer since 1972 and never has missed a payment & always payed early. The online banking said her check cleared, when she called they said it was a mistake and that it didn t clear
My grandma has the money in her bank & they could just re run the check but now inland power is saying my grandma can never send a check as form of payment for a mistake on the banks part.. inland power was so rude to my grandma mind you her hearing is poor due to her being 94 years old!! They came to our house on Christmas Eve, so my grandma called and wanted to pay over the phone and they said absolutely not that she has to do a certified check! She can t even walk! Inland power is terrible! My grandma feels betrayed..especially on Christmas!!

They used to be cheaper than Avista, but they are not anymore. I will say that they take care of issues extremely quickly. Quick response time on everything. Avista takes hours to get back to you or work on an issue.

Rarely has there been power outages or surges.
Anyone who wants to complain about the services should count their lucky stars that they've not
had to live in a part of the country where outages and surges are a sad part of life.

Terrible company. They are a bunch of crooks. Decided to charge me a "deposit" fee of $250 out of nowhere AFTER 7 YEARS of being with them, making it so I couldn't pay my bill and then they disconnected my power. I finally got the absolutely ridiculous amount to turn it back on. Come to find out, they are closed on Friday's.

IPL needs some big changes. 99027 zip has been without power 9 times in past two years. No mother nature excuse with todays april outage now more than 7 hours out. Pathetic and wholly unreliable power supply. Obviously they have neglected and allowed lines to go to disrepair. Understaffed? Management cant get the job done. If you are trying to run a home based business as an IPL customer, you will go broke with all the downtime. So what is IPL doing whats with all the money? Sure isnt going to infrastructure. Time for a change in Board and Management

My experience with Inland Power & Light for the past 30+ years has been positive. Even in the worse of problems we have had we have always felt Inland Power has been there for us! In years past we had really bad power outage problems. Understanding they did not have the manpower then, we may be down for a few days. All of that is behind us and now have a very reliable power provider. Responsive, friendly, customer service oriented, and a great power company to have on your side!

Our power went out due to a huge windstorm that happened and they fixed everyone's power around us. Said they fixed ours and marked it off as restored. My house and my neighbors house are literally the only house in a huge area that doesn't have power and now they are saying it can take up to 5 more days for ours to be restored. People Are counting on you to do your job right and you won't even come back and fix it. Yes I know there are dozens of people with out power but you need to fix your mistake.

I have been paying my bill, on time, for close to 20 years and today I find out that I do not exist. My account number, my meter number, my phone number and pole number do not exist. Who has been cashing my payment checks??????? If I do not exist why do you continue to bill me???? Has my electricity been turned off on purpose, due to no entity?????? Do I need to find a new electric company or do I just drop off the grid?

Great company! We are way out in the country where we are lucky to get power. I came from having Avista where the rates were HIGH. The guys on the repair line are very friendly and are on top of things. We lost power last night 12-29-17 around 5:00 p.m. The guys jumped right on it and have been working around the clock. The crew that I was talking to have been going at it since yesterday at 5:00 p.m. and are going around the clock till its all done. The workers are FANTASTIC and I am extremely Thankful for their service and taking time away from their families on the weekend's in the cold temperatures, and dealing with all the outages in the freezing rain and snow and never complaining.

I have nothing against Inland power & light but the replaced my meter several months ago and my monthly bill has gone down about 30% I live alone for the last 14mos and my bill had been 80 to 90 each month until my meter was replaced I'm always very conservative and my heat is gas from Avista I think that my lousy meter was racking up my bill for at least a year if not longer, is there any way to recoup what I've been overcharged in the past? I also have only seen dividend checks a couple of times since I've been here approx 20 years yet the say dividends have come to us for like 10yrs obviously many checks not cashed do I qualify to get those funds redispersed? Do I have any recourse for these misfortunes?

Inland is awesome. Our power started acting cray about 3pm on NYE my stove and many lights stopped working. Party starts at 7. Without calling them two very nice guys show up say they rec'd notice our meter was acting up looked at it and with 20min or so everything was fixed this was 5:30. NyE was saved! Thanks y'all!!
I wish I could say good things about Inland Power ...
I wish I could say good things about Inland Power and light. Maybe they deserve better, but in my experiences in the last 6 years, I cannot leave a very positive review. Todays bill solidifies my thoughts about Inland.
Over the last 6 years, our power has gone out a few times. This is normal especially where I live out in the country during something like a bad storm. Normally, the power will go out for a while in these circumstances. However, sometimes, without warning, the power will "blink" out for just a second or five.
Now, I am no electrician, but if a car hit a power pole or tree fell on a sub-station, then I'd expect the power to be out for more than a second. No, I believe they are doing these 'outtages' or its their new "Smart" meter... more on that in a bit.
The lights going on and off is not exactly the issue, though walking up or down stairs while holding a new born baby when darkness suddenly appears, has its own issues. No, its the computers, the microwave that requires a date to be entered EVERY time for some reason. Its the alarm clock that fails to wake me, the bbq smoker that needs to be restarted, the babies sound machine, the alarm system... its everything else.
I called Inland twice in the last month for these outtages and reported them. Once a guy suddenly appeared in my driveway and asked if my power was currently on. Not the issue at all. Its the SUDDEN outtage and back on that is the issue. My neighbors all have asked me the same question: "Does your power randomly go out for a bit and come back on?"
But the real issue, the one that prompted this review of a power company today, was the bill. My bill, on average is about $130/mo. This bill is over $500! What happened? No letter, no explanation, no NOTHING. I had to call. I was told that my "Smart Meter" quit communicating with them and they changed it out. Took the old meter back to their shop and saw that their computer was under charging me for the last 3 months. The $500 is like a back payment for the power that we used while the meter was not communicating. "Its only a one time payment." So, the meter stopped communicating, the billing computer simply charged us an estimation which we paid unaware anything was wrong, they replaced the meter 3 months later, discovered the estimation was wrong, decided to charge us the remainder without warning. THAT IS BS! This difference, Inland Power and Light should eat. I am very tempted to invest in alternative power at this point. Put up solar, wind, generators, anything other than this horrid service.

For as much money as we pay they sure seem to be constantly restringing the last wire to once again get the power back on. Preventative maintenance schedules in rural areas maybe?

We are new to using this company. First thing they wanted was $350 just to turn our power on. We asked if they took prior referrals. No, we want the money. Fine.... Then the storms hit and we had no power for over a week with small children in the house. It was a nightmare. Sorry, I am from the coast and it is called being prepared. If you spend the money burying lines and being prepared, a storm won't knock out thousands of homes. This can cause deaths and those I spoke to lost a lot of food reserves. We were lucky as it was so cold, our food actually stayed frozen. Unfortunately, we were freezing as well.
Then I misplaced a bill, when I got the next one I was charged a $10 fee for a shut off notice I never received. After missing one bill? Honestly I figured I would just pay it all on the next bill. But being late once gets a shut off notice which they conveniently forgot to send. Also my bill is higher for a 3,000 Sq foot house than it was for a 6,000 Sq foot house that I went through Avista with. How?
These people are crooks and they need to learn to be prepared for storms and such. If I had a choice, I would never use their power or go through them. They have shown me that they really don't care for their customers.

For as high as our bill is and as offten as we lose power I think you guys should start paying to replace our food and paying for medication when we get sick from no heat, why don't you do it right the first time, common sense if there is a tree that's going to fall and you know it them cut it down before it dose, this is getting pathetic.

Got a call yesterday about my bill. Called this morning to set up a payment for Friday and they shut me off in the middle of the call while on the phone with inland!!. The 75.00 re-connect fee is ludicrous. Besides the numerous power outages I suppose the service is ok........
Highway robbery.

Don't let the "Co-Op" label mislead you. The Regime of Inland Power cares only about one thing: Profit and paying their employees.
Even if you make a payment on your account, they will shut off your power for being 40 days overdue... 40 days! and after 2 payments on a $260 bill... They'll do it remotely without the decency or dignity of having someone come out to your property and tell you. Someday the employees and executives will hopefully get sued personally for the damage the Inland Regime will probably do to someones health someday.
On top of that, you'll get a call from someone lecturing you on paying your bills on time.
You'll have power outages like you're in a 3rd world country. The executives care about profit and high wages to employees. The employees don't even work on Fridays???!! And they call themselves a co-op. The foreign owned for profit power companies throughout the US give more dignity and decency to their customers than the Inland Power Regime gives to it's "members".

We've had two outages this week of Dec. 11-18. The repair crews from the Colfax area are top notch, working most of the night in both incidents in terrible cold and wind. They are heroes to us rural folk and Inland Power is to be commended for hiring these great Americans. Thank you!

Been a very pleasant experience. I used to be a avista customer. Inland power rates are very fare. There are more outages than avista but considering the location I now live in it makes total sense. Also the outages have always been dealt with in a very timely manner. Most the negative reviews I see for this company in my opinion seem like its the customers own problems in there own lives causing them to negative review. In my personal opinion.

Inland Power needs to be investigated and fined for their lack of maintenance on the power systems we the customers pay for. There is a reason Avista and Bonneville Power have low outage numbers they do MAINTENANCE. I have lived in my home for over 20 years for the last 13 years I have received a letter from Inland stating they will be clearing the Trees and branches from around the power lines. They have never done this not once, I have been out of power since December 22nd it is now the 28th they cannot even give an estimate. It s time for a change Inland you need to sell the majority of your areas to Avista.

Talk about scammers! This company has continually harassed me in hopes of paying some bill that doesn't belong to me. Our old home the day we moved out we called Inland to have the power turned off an removed from our name, clearly they didn't an they let a bill rack up from the new owners of the home an expect me to pay it. Make sure when you move An need service removed from your name it gets done because this company seems to continue to leave it in your name several months after being notified you long ago moved. Then they just added it to my ex husbands bill who had nothing at all to do with the home. Talk about scammers which has resulted in a complaint to the BBB and to consumer affairs.

My outage is just as important as the large groups...and why don't they cut down EVERY tree that could POSSIBLY fall on the lines BEFORE the storms cause the trees to fall on the lines? Baffling!

I tried calling 3 times, each time I was on hold for close to an hour, finally I was put into a call queue, and when I was my turn, she litterally hung up on me twice, the third time I got a voicemail, very unprofessional and being as this is an emergency situation youd think it would be easier to tell them what's going on. Terrible company that makes Avista look like a shiny example. The power goes out constantly in less than 20 mph winds, even when it doesn't go out it constantly blinks out for a few seconds or minutes. I had to tell them many times that a tree was resting on a power line before they eventually came out to cut the line free. My neighbors and I live in an area where everyone has wells, and fire danger is super high, the power goes off for no reason and leaves us without not only power but without water as well. Inland power is a joke, I've litterally drove for 29 miles looking for a downed line trying to figure out why the power is out and there is nothing. So either they are shutting down power to massive zones or the infrastructure they use is complete garbage and is set off in the slightest of wind. Then they leave you without power for days sometimes.. On the coast, it is regularly 25 -30mph plus winds and yet you don't see the power go down. If there was any other options for power I'd jump on it in a heartbeat.

far too many outages with Inland Power. I was serviced by AVISTA for over 10 years and never experienced the number of outages that I have since I have lived in Inland Power country. Every time the wind blows or it snows I prepare my house for an outage. This is ridiculous, not to mention the money I have spent on back up power equipment....never had to do this with AVISTA. I understand AVISTA power cost more but believe me we are paying our fair share for our electricity and deserve better service. It's call PREVENTATIVE MAINTENANCE, trim the trees so we have fewer outages. I love it when people praise the Inland Power employees for their service and round the clock work they do to restore our power...don't get me wrong I appreciate them but I also know they are loving the overtime pay they are getting during these long outages. Thanks to Inland Power I'm spending more money and time for "when" not "if" there is another outage.

This electric company is one of the worst companies I have ever experienced. Our power goes out continuously. We live in the norhtwest we get all four seasons, snow, wind storms, thunder storms, all of it. The linemen are constantly out trying restore power. There system on tracking power outages and dispatching linemen to the source of the issue is so outdated.

I've lived many places but this power company is by far the worst. They have zero concern about power outages. This time our power has been out for 24 hrs and they have not even begun working on it. Their reason they provided was the wind storm last night was unsafe for their crew. Hmmm there has been no wind storm since yesterday morning which caused the power outage. They seriously could care less.
