I have been paying my bill, on time, for close to ...

I have been paying my bill, on time, for close to 20 years and today I find out that I do not exist. My account number, my meter number, my phone number and pole number do not exist. Who has been cashing my payment checks??????? If I do not exist why do you continue to bill me???? Has my electricity been turned off on purpose, due to no entity?????? Do I need to find a new electric company or do I just drop off the grid?
