This was the ABSOLUTE worst buying experience of my life!!! I have bought four new vehicles from Holmes Honda, and had come to expect an excellent level of service from them. I initially made contact with them in the middle of July, and was told that I would be give a 2.9% interest rate with 60 months term. When I got to finance the interest rate was nearly double, and the loan term was increased to 72 months. I mentioned the discrepancy to the finance manager, Edward. Who told me that he would check on the information, and contact me the next day. No one ever followed up with me, and so I had decided to keep my initial vehicle. My previous vehicle was only two years old, and was also purchased from Holmes Honda brand new.
Two weeks later, one of the sales managers called me and asked why I had changed my mind. I told him about the encounter in finance and he said he would check on it. He called me back and said that the 2.9 financing was only for the LX model, and so I agreed to move forward with the sale.
August 18, I purchased a brand new 18 CRV, finance through Honda finance. September 7, I had not heard anything from the finance company; and having bought and financed several vehicles previously I knew something was wrong. I called the bank, and they advised they had no information from the dealership. The bank called the dealership, and was told that all my paperwork with all my personal information had been lost. I went to the dealership, and was told that the paperwork with all my personal information had been sent to the wrong bank. I was told that the error had been corrected, and the deal would be completed within a FEW days.
September 19, I still had not heard anything from the bank, I called the bank and they advised they still had no information from the dealership. I went back to the dealership, and after a bit of a stall gave them back the vehicle and told them that this was the sloppiest buying experience I had EVER gone through. Mind you, I was 13 days away from my initial note being due, and wanted and needed to take care of this a long time ago.
Miraculously, the next day after returning the vehicle was funded! After 31 days of pure foolishness. I spoke to everyone up to the President, Mr. Mark Johnson, who was the rudest, most unprofessional, person I had EVER spoken with. I've gotten better service from the people at Canes buying a $6.00 box of chicken than I have gotten from Mark Johnson and Homes Honda.
Not to mention, they back dated my DMV registration to three weeks prior to ever doing business with me causing me to have a flag and penalty fee on my driver's license. Mr. Johnson stood behind the sloppy job that he and his dealership provided.
I will NEVER buy a vehicle from Holmes Honda again!!! I will share my experience with everyone I work with, all of my friends and family, and anyone else willing to listen.
