Great place for a nice walk while viewing the interesting sculptures
A magical space, perfect for a lengthy stroll and some contemplation. Definitely will be coming back in the future
This place is HUGE! Plan to spend a lot of time here or make multiple visits. The grounds are kept clean and although it's covid season and the inside wasn't fully open, it looks like they sell food and drinks there (not 100%sure though).
Art Omi is a perfect place for weekend getaway and one of my favorite art centers. It s free admission but with great maintenance.
It took us about 2 hours to finish our visit, moderated hour for family. The sculptures and artworks are magnificent and stunning. I am not really into art museums but had an amusing time.
Very nice one hour walk on grassy slopes with many dozen beautiful sculptures
This was one of the most wonderful trips I have ever made. There is something so magical about artwork that compliments and celebrates nature. Plan to spend a good amount of time here, I was walking around for about four hours, worth every minute.
So fun! There's so much art to see! Great to just go for a few hours and walk around. And it doesn't cost anything!
Interesting, even if you don't care for the art, there are a lot of trails, a pond and a welcome center with staff and food plus it's free.
Had a great Saturday with my wife. It was cold but the art kept us warm
Much improved paths and expansion of the architectural space.
A nice place to stroll and see art
Awesome large sculpture garden. You can borrow bikes at the front to ride around, but walking is fine as well. Make sure to visit the architecture park on the side as well.
What a find! Open fields filled with sculpture, romping dogs, a lovely cafe, and a sensational show of Elizabeth Murray paintings (until May 31st, 2015). Totally worth the price of admission, which is free!
So cool!! Was freezing when we went but worth it. The ReActor (seesaw house) was pretty awesome. The staff in the cafe out front was super friendly as well when we went for a quick stop for hot cocoa.
I would definitely recommend going for a couple of hours if you re in the area. It s a great way to be part of the fall foliage and walk around. There s a cute cafe to get coffee and tea or bring some food and have a picnic outdoors. Kids can climb on the sculptures so it s a fun/ different activity for them. Definitely check out the architecture section!
Worth the trip from NYC, cool sculptures and a nice outdoor experience. High Instagram cool factor ; would have scored many likes if was that type of person ;-)
This place is great for fresh air and sunshine. The art was enjoyed by my family and we will return!
Another jewel of the Hudson River Valley. Spend the day you won't regret it.
I love Art Omi, and I am thrilled that they have stayed open through the plague. It's calming to wander the paths and discover unexpected sculptures. It feels like an adventure every time I go!
Parking is limited, so it's hit or miss if there will be a space available when you get there. If there isn't, don't be a douche and block the driveway, idling your car hoping someone will leave. Parking is a bit like the lottery. If you can't park, I recommend the Hudson Skywalk, which isn't far.
A couple of good pieces with much I didn't feel much for. A nice place for a pleasant walk.
Cool art. Nice area. Free, can spend a couple of hours there
Bring a bike if the weather is appropriate and enjoy the entire park in 1-2 hrs.
What a great place to go with family, 2 and 4 legged, for a nice stroll and a view of beautiful sculptures! The weather was perfect today and we enjoyed walking around. This is all outdoors and spread around so dress for the weather. Free and dog friendly. Wear a mask and enjoy as long or short of an excursion as you'd like to get out of the house. Highly recommend!! Loved it!!!!
This hidden gem is a must see! You can spend hours there trying to absorb everything only to realize there were many things you missed. Be prepared to walk, there is not much for elevation gain but there are some uphill sections. Some of the sculptures are amazing, some are only open by appointment, and some are even a bit interactive. Because of this place i have a new found interest in sculpture parks. If you haven't been it's a must see at least one!
Very interesting art and sculptures. Great day trip but make sure to go on a cooler day and have water.
Art Omi is beautiful! The beauty & wonder that it brings you as you discover piece after piece of raw creative art in each exhibit will leave you in awe. The best part, IMO, is the way Art Omi combines Art & Nature! The sprawling wide open scenery gives off an amazing sense of Whimsy & Freedom. The statues, sculptures, and other forms of art in the exhibits are changed and new pieces & collections are introduced every so often(not exactly sure of the owners usual time frame.) I've been visiting this place for about 20 years and now my kids come to take a walk, breathe the fresh air, enjoy nature, to experience the splendor of the beautiful, unique, & different points of view on what art is or can be that's creatively expressed by each artist and each exhibit within the vast acreages that is ART OMI!
Love the vast fields, creeks and bridges to meander and cross while seeing sculptures and architectural installations. Wonderful Cafe for drinks and bites on weekends.
All that, plus a wonderful summer art camp and weekend workshops a stones throw from Hudson / Chatam / Kinderhook.
Last week I went to Art Omi's Int. Art Show. The most amazing and socially conscious art show which is an annual event.
Lovely place to visit. Lots of unique art installations. Kid friendly.
You need at least one hour meaningfully to visit Omi Museum. The open-air sculptures are spaced far apart, and are well-worth closer inspection. Plaques describe the works exhibited and their intended significances. The gallery inside is More
A beautiful space with curiosities at every turn, overt to sublime....perfect for kods, dogs and picnics.
This place is amazing! If it wasn t so hot and buggy, I could have spent the entire day wandering. This place would be so perfect in the fall. My favorite sculptures were the pond house and the heads.
Really cool grounds filled with many large art exhibits and statues. I had a great experience here on a manageable relaxing walk
My first visit to Art Omi was amazing! I love the larger than larger-than-life sculptures.
I've really missed going to museums during the pandemic and Art Omi is the perfect solution. An outdoor sculpture park that is a wonderful combination of museum and hiking (nothing too technical that I came across). I felt really comfortable in the outdoor space and the indoor exhibit (reservation required inside). There's plenty of room to social distance and take in the exhibits at a lesuirely pace.
I was a little disorganized in my approach so I didn't see everything but I will definitely be back!
want to go back again!!! pretty cool and beautuful place.
This is THE BEST PLACE to get espresso in this area!!!!!
My advice, sunny fall day. Bring the kids, bring the dog, look everyplace and behind everything.
A world class showpiece for contemporary art. A walk through the sculpture field should not be missed.
Very nice sculpture garden with ample trails to view the pieces in nature.
The sweeping fields of Art Omi provide an ever changing backdrop to a curated and regularly changed selection of sculptures. As the seasons, weather and lighting conditions change, you will get a different experience every time. You can even let your dog run free on the fields before 9.30 am!
architecture part is dinstinct from other sculpture parks. worth while checking out!
Great grounds for a stroll and enjoy different types of art installations!
We loved it. Lots of variety and thoughtful pieces. More to enjoy than I can put into a review. We were expecting to pay admission also. It is run by donations. It s a lot of walking so be prepared for that. It was much bigger than we anticipated. A lot of the art required extensive skill and attention to detail which we find appealing.
Very big outdoor museum, definitely need boots you don t mind getting dirty if it rained the day before bc it was muddy! We didn t get to see the whole museum. I would estimate 2-3 hrs. Kid friendly!
Amazing place to spend a morning or afternoon! Such an awesome array of art, and definitely a place for the whole family (Fido included!). Perfect way to get in your culture/art during the pandemic. So grateful to have such a cool sculpture park so close to the Capital Region!
If you love art and you love taking a hikes this for you and make sure you have some water along with you
Beautiful place. Short drive down 90. Will be returning with my bike! I look forward to the cafe reopening.
Excellent outdoor art sculpture park. Make sure to bring water as a lot is in open fields. You can visit multiple times and see entirely different parts of the park.
This place is magical! What a great way to enjoy art and nature, all while social distancing. (My visit was during Covid2020 in the fall). It s well organized, lots of space, port-a-potties available in lieu of rest rooms were super clean (at least in the back near the learning center), easy to follow path with everything well marked. Remember to bring sneakers or good walking shoes and big spray. We walked 3 miles over 2 hours. It s a big property! Lots of winding paths to see cool things. Don t miss the fields to the left. I ll definitely be back.
What a cool sculpture park!! We were blown away by the quality and quantity of art. Trails are easy and accessible.
It was a perfect double date.
Awesome place to spend a day. Great art, very picturesque and serene area, and you can get your hike in too.
Wonderful place to enjoy both beauty of nature & artistic pieces.
Art Omi is easily one of the best day trips you can do if you live within close driving distance. The fields are expansive and the art is wondrous. It's a great place to wander around outside and have a picnic. It's free to roam the grounds, but I would have happily paid for such a great experience.
If you go when there's snow in the winter, be sure to wear proper footwear! Also bring a sled!
Great! thanks for the great perspective of these creative artists
Intriguing sculptures of modern art WITHOUT a heavy up-in-your-face over-the-top unasked-for serving of sociopolitical AGENDA. Plaques identify the artists, studios of origin, and a basic description of the uvres. The sculptures are placed More
Very cool, lots of things to see, you could spend hours and hours here. Bring water bottles!
A great place to explore; sculpture is as varied as the terrain in the park.... tucked into the woods along streams, in the trees, blended into a hillside or making a statements atop a vast hillside. Museum has excellent glass walls and cafe. Staff were really helpful and enthusiastic.
Omi is a true Columbia County gem! The combination of art and nature makes for a wonderful way to spend an afternoon. And it's completely dog-friendly!
Like a mini Storm King, Art Omi is cultural treasure amidst the hills and farmlands of Columbia County. With interesting and varied sculptures and art pieces standing out in meadows, nestled in the woods and afloat in a small swamp, it's a wonderful and unexpected urbane surprise in a rural place.
Incredible sculpture and architecture, bring walking shoes, or even your skis. A must see in Hudson Valley!
The Fields Sculpture Park (at Art Omi) is one of the very best things to see in the Hudson Valley. We've visited several times now and loved it every time. The whole place is just very thoughtfully done - the the natural setting is gorgeous, the sculpture is well curated (it varies, but overall we've liked it), the cafe offerings are limited but all tasty and local/organic, the building is beautiful. Definitely check it out!
Interesting exhibits and a nice way to spend the day outdoors.
Find day out, similar to storm king but slightly smaller scale. Great vibe and less busy than SK though. Went for event there which drew local community and was lots of fun
Definitely don't miss the tippy house. I didn't realize it's a giant mill for human remains! So modern!
This is a wonderful place, especially on a sunny, fall day! It's a mini-Storm King and every bit as interesting. An amazing outdoor sculptural exhibition in the middle of a beautiful nowhere!
