Was there for 3 days for a congress. The hotel is wonderfully located directly on the beach of Wolmare just after Flic en Flac.As it is on west coast we get beautiful sunsets everyday, weather permitting of course. The food was good and varied daily. The cakes were fantastic esp. the croissants.

Hilton is Hilton, luxory hotel, beautiful beach, amazing infrastructure. I have loved the small infinity pool and the bar service. Not a huge choice of restaurants but good quality. It is in Mauritius, consequently the atmosphere is ideal for couples and families. If you are looking for a relaxing site, this is for you.

DISAPPOINTING:

DISAPPOINTING:
The Hilton is definitely a disappointing experience for a so called 5 -star hotel. Again let's put things in perspective, a 5 star hotel shall have high expectations and I am writing this review with the perspective of comparison after spending time in 4 different hotels over 3 weeks, namely, Long Beach, The Sands, Sugar Beach and Hilton and here are the reasons why it was better elsewhere. Why put your money at the Hilton when you can have much better service next door on the same coast.

** Having to wait 30 mins to get your room when you come to a 5 star hotel after allowed check in time is ridiculous especially when accompanied by childern.
** The hair dryer in the room was not working, there was no hot water during one morning and the bed sheets were not pristine. Not that i really need a perfectly ironed bed sheet but again when you get to a 5 star you expect standards. Others can do it , why can't hilton.
** Hilton has a little patio outside each room but guess what they have no light if you want to spend a wonderful everning sharing a coffee with your friends or family outsidein the perfect mauritian temperature.
** The Spa was not working, they got us waiting for 30 mins to tell us sorry , the Hamman and Spa ameities are broken, we can't do anything for you.
** The beach is definitely not cleaned thoroughly, the amenities like beach chairs are worn out and there are cigarette butts everywhere.
** There are definitely not little special perks that other hotels would offer. The SANDS for example will give its guests a little glass of local flavored rum early evening or while at the pool they bring you a flavored cup of cool beerry or orange water. The customer attention isn't there.
** You would expect a 5 star hotel to have that customer connection and at least ask your customer wheter their stay was good upon check out. That didn't even happen. Put aside that we just sucked it up and never complained or were far from being obnoxious customers.
** The buffet though fairly good is highly over priced for externals if you want to have a guest over. 50 Euros for a buffet, that's beyond reason.

** Bottom line is the HILTON MANAGEMENT AND STAFF does not display a "CAN DO" attitude but mostly a "CAN'T DO" approach. They do not find an alternative to please customers besides a "SORRY, come back later".

I'd rate the hotel 2 or 3 over 5 and from the four hotels I stayed in
LONG BEACH ( a real 5 star) and THE SANDS (exceptional CUSTOMER SERVICE on all fronts and better rooms) rank first.
Sugar beach and then HILTON last.

Why choose HILTON when you have Sugar beach next to it and the SANDS half a mile further down.

The beach is full of hedgehogs and corals. I stepped on a hedgehog that was in the sand, had to do an operation to remove broken needles. After lunch, the water goes away and six hundred meters from the coast, the depth of the belt or below and corals everywhere. The hotel is very old, and there can be no five stars, probably thirty years it was, but now everything is bad. Good or even very good is the staff who, out of all the forces, are trying to do something good out of this situation. But how ? It is not possible to swim, it is dangerous to walk on the beach, the hotel is dense, you will not go outside the hotel, but there are no roads for walking and no bicycles, and it is not clear what to do here?

Hotel facilities are old, we booked the beachfront room, from the room can go directly to the beach, the door to the beach is broken, can not shut up, made a four-way phone to the front desk, waited for half an hour before someone to repair, and After half an hour, the front desk promised to let us change the room. This was a very unproactive attitude. I changed to a new room, but the room was not cleaned yet, let us wait for half an hour, check in from half past two to the actual The room can be used at five o'clock. It is not ok for the guests to live at such a price. It is recommended to renovate all the facilities and rooms as soon as possible. The manager is very good. Let us have a free dinner and no. The room rate for the night is charged, but compared to the same level of the hotel in Mauritius, why is an internationally renowned hotel not willing?

Very nice hotel, nice rooms and very clean. The infinity pool is gorgeous and the water sports is also highly recommended and is all but free for waterskiing. Only the prices for drinks and food are way too high! For the buffet in the morning you ask for 1200 rupees, in the evening even 1990 rupees!

The WiFi signal in the hotel room was particularly bad. After two days of feedback, I was very angry and asked to change the room before I changed the room. I lost a piece of clothing and estimated that it was rolled up when I received the sheets. It felt very pitted. The Chinese service at the front desk of the hotel, at the beginning of consultation with the hotel, what fun, even said that there is nothing fun, do not have to soak the hotel, you can go to the outside attractions to play, in fact, the hotel provides free snorkeling, chasing dolphins, kayaking, pedal boats The sailing boat is very fun. The comprehensive experience is not good. You can choose another five-star hotel in Mauritius.

Nice place to stay. We booked room with full board package which works out cheaper if you gonna spend more time in hotel. Water sports was complimentary we enjoyed it. The thing I did not like was there wasn't any veg food during lunch and dinner time buffet. Which was really sad. I think its not a crime to be a veg in this world

Good 5 star resort. Our room was upgraded in terms of the view and it was good but we had to walk at least 10-15 mins just to get to the room which is a bit too much. Also, the free activities are mostly already booked. We tried booking the dolphin watching 2 days in prior but it was booked. So that is an issue. Also, for the a la carte dinner restaurants you need to make a reservation one day in advance which is a hassle to be honest. If I have checked in today and don't want to go out to eat i will have to eat in their buffet restaurant as they don't leave you with any other choice. And the a la carte restaurants are not even full. I didn't feel that was fair. Also the ac was not very effective.

Like always Hilton never disappointed us and Hilton Mauritius was just a fabulous stay not only for the location, the hospitality shown during our entire stay and top it all the food. We have a half board booked with them and you have choice of three restaurants to have your dinner. The main restaurant organizes different buffets every day and on the indian night - we had one of the best Indian dinners. The hotel staff is so engaging with the guests that they just make your stay even more special. Most of the water activities are free from the hotel. They even offer you free of cost dolphin watching and we were so lucky to see them twice. I highly recommend this property and once again extend my Heartfelt gratitude to all the staffs there to make our vacation such a memorable and wonderful one.

Mauritian people is what makes me come back time after time to Mauritius, but the Hilton takes this to a whole new level. From arrival to departure we were spoilt and treated. Food in the main restaurant is very good, great variety at breakfast and dinners have a different theme each night. There is 2 supplement restaurants, Ginger Thai and le Coquillages. The latter was quite dissapointing, this is the fine dining restaurant, but the food was very bland. This restaurant is on the beach, its only saving grace. But the Ginger Thai is a must, make sure to book more than one night for taste sensations galore!!!! Take the duck,it was amazing!!!! The boathouse and staff was wonderful, we did snorkelling through them and it is included,a must!! Beach towels are included and the gent running that booth was super friendly. Room cleaning staff was excellent, room was looked after twice a day. There is full time security on the beach, so you can feel relaxed and looked after. If you want a holiday where you are spoilt and the friendliest staff, this is for you, luxury!!!

Awesome property, really luxurious. Rooms are spacious and beah facing... prefer a room on ground floor.. as it gives you easy access to beach.

Sumptuous and delicious breakfast. Dinner options were plenty.. we particularly liked ginger thai.

They have free water sports, do take a paddle boat and chill around the beach. View to the sea particularly at sunset is awesome!!

With a package all inclusive and bills paid one month in advance, very disappointing and bad experience as some of the staffs are unprofessional and need training in communication skills, problem solving skills , and customer care, service and focus.
Since the beginning, misleading information has been imparted to us and no proper briefing had been carried out upon our arrival. We have been made to understand that there were two restaurants catering for customers, one under booking & the other one is the Main Restaurant. At the Thai Restaurant which was booked for dinner, the staff showed a haughty attitude when we turned up and nastily snapped that there was no table available ( which was very untrue as there was one made at our disposal) BUT we could select dishes and carry out plates to the Main Restaurant for consumption ( quite a distance , with probability that insects & flies getting entangled in the food on the way) . After dinner was over, The Officer in charge of the Main Restaurant was met and he replied that it was forbidden to consume food from the Thai Restaurant at the Main Restaurant.

As for vegetarians, the menu was restricted at the Thai Restaurant and we had no clue we could order . As a restaurant in charge of the Main Restaurant, it was very unprofessional and embarrassing to take to task customers ( while they are eating among other customers) to question their presence.

The hotel staffs need to solve their internal and administrative conflicts and not use their valued customers as scapegoats.

Some people fail to bear in mind that Mauritians are nowadays sustaining the tourism industry. And Hilton Hotel considered as a myth would slowly lose its stars with such unprofessionalism.

Living at the hotel currently rooms are nice staff are friendly but overall the hotel does not have concept of service

Kids club.....
Brought the kids out for a holiday and the most disappointing kids clubs ever, firstly kids club takes 1hr to get back to you,and the activities are like nothing exists....rating 1

Spa...::

Insanely terrible place is dirty, both women and men share souna and steam rooms my rating would be below 4

Food.....

The most worst selection of food ever it s almost if this hotel is on a budget,my poor kids was hoping for a selection of icecream and all we get is the same sorbet flavor for the week,a simple fish get prepared on one side same everyday terrible horrible....rather stay hungry...we then decided to use the lobsters place and was disappointed spending money for a chef made over night terrible once again

Pools...

No pools aside of ponds for the kids, and for adults just one pool which my kids were chased out from...and I m pretty sure my kids swim better the them....kids pools are dirty and a waist of time

Beach .....

Was great thanks to the government

My overall experience was ultimately disappointing I will never waist my money coming back here not now not ever....I do come every year and this year I tried something different the worst choice of my life

Save your money stay at home and build a pool then coming here

Positive:

Positive:
The staff is nice and friendly
The hotel is on a superb, beautiful and long beach (flic en flac), both beach and hotel are clean
There are a lot of activites for free like snorkeling, seeing dolphins, kajaking, pedalos etc
You can see the beach from every hotel balcony
Shows and music every evening

Negative:
The beverages and food are way too expensive and the next supermarket is 1h away by foot so you either take the taxi or bus!
The rooms especially the bathrooms need a renovation and it's annoying if you hear all the time people in the room next to you
The breakfast could be better, it's more or less all the time the same

Unhealthy Hotel

Unhealthy Hotel
The staff are very pleasant, but the hotel is unsanitary.
For a 7-night business trip, I was surprised to find the first night of 8 cm cockroaches in the bathroom. I called reception who sent me a cleaning person to spray the 3 cockroaches in place with a product.
The second night every half hour a new cockroach appeared in the room and ran everywhere. Up to 5 cockroaches throughout the room. At 3 am I couldn't sleep and they changed rooms.
After a short night, the management apologized for the inconvenience and my report that I have the only one and that never happens.
What a surprise the 2nd night, in my new room, still roaches. The management apologizes again and informs me that they are going to infect the room.
But it will continue one more night.
Another surprise is the welcome gift of an apricot in a small Hilton bag. This fruit was completely moldy, in the morning I report it to the management "very surprised" apologize and tell myself to do what is necessary, but in the evening after a day of work when entering the room the moldy fruit was still present in the room. Water bottles and glasses are not replaced and we drink all week in dirty glasses.
For a HOTEL of this level and at a very high price, I find the management of this hotel not to the level and a management that makes fun of its customers.
No commercial gesture was proposed to me for this damage.
I wanted to try Hilton and came back.
There are plenty of other hotels in Mauritius of much better quality.
Goodbye Hilton goodbye and I think that by reading my message many others will hesitate to come.

I was there for a meeting in their conference room. I liked the welcome to security, smiling and professional on arrival and departure.
The service at the snack was good and the food / appetizers reasonable.
Nice scenery and beautiful garden.
I cannot say more because I have not stayed or had access to the other facilities.

Excellent Holiday. Staff friendly and welcoming. We found the food at the buffet (half board) varied and interesting, and especially enjoyed Mauritian night. Lovely adult pool. Great beach. Excellent choice of free activities. This was a special anniversary trip for us, and the honeymoon we never had. The staff made it a very special holiday with lots of special touches to mark the occasion. We were a little frustrated by people leaving their towels on loungers all day, but fortunately the hotel was not full, so we were able to find somewhere to sit eventually. We upgraded our room and really enjoyed the space and decor. The staff work tirelessly to keep the resort looking good and we will aim to come back soon!
