The employees I came in contact with were extremely nice, and willing to accommodate us. I gave this hotel 4 stars because the rooms were small and the layout made them feel even more crowded.
Clean room & bathroom. Disliked location and TV service.
Good location and friendly staff. However, rather old and run down rooms. Garbage in the hallway and broken door to our room.
Great Hotel and very close to metro and bus. Easy access.
Tower Wing rooms are small, old, tired. Elevators have their own will and doors do not always open. Bathroom is small, tired and basic equipment such as a cup or glass is missing. Some rooms are downright dangerous and a mousetrap in the event of a fire. Beds are just not nail beds. Rooms are not a Hilton standard and are outrageous for the price that is being charged.
A lovely hotel in great repair and very well maintained. Part of the older Metropole Hotel family that the Hilton bought. They still use the MAGIC system for guest calls, which in some cases would be a pain but because of the sheer size of this place is a bit of a blessing to have someone help manage your needs.
Really polite and amazing staff, and working as hard and as fast as they can to get everything done for you.
Executive lounge is very clean and well maintained also, and so is the fitness area, Living Well. Lots of amenities and facilities.
Good food, great place to be. Would more than recommend, as I'm hoping my work has me in London soon again so I can enjoy their hospitality once more. Very picturesque location and room views.
One thing to note is its worth bringing an extension cord if you want to charge devices at bedside cabinets. But even then it's the smallest negative against a whole host of positives.
I keep having to go here for a conference I attend each year, and I have no idea why they keep holding it here. The only nice thing about being inside this building is that you can no longer see the exterior. The rooms are labyrinthine, the layout makes no sense and the choke points cause chaos. The conference food is, however, better than average.
Fantastic hotel. The kings suite was very comfortable.
Great hotel with helpful staff. Only down side was repeated issues with room key not working which required long walk beck to reception to re-programme the key...
Very nice hotel. Convenient for when I can't get in at Hilton Paddington.
Room from the 80s. No compatible sockets. Not worth the money.
Stayed in April 2019 and booked a King Executive Room. The lobby is very nice and the executive lounge was great for breakfast and some snacks in the evening. The room was awful. Very dated and didn't feel clean. The mattress was terrible and the bathroom is from the 80s. I figured booking an executive room you would get a nice room, but this was not the case. There were stains on the carpet. I also requested that the mini-bar be emptied so I could use the fridge for other things. Someone came and emptied the fridge but the fridge didn't work...it was warm inside. I called front desk to have it looked into and they said someone would be up to look at it. We left for a few hours and came back...the fridge situation wasn't rectified so we lost everything that we put in there. Mentioned this at check out the next day but all that was said was, "sorry about that". Needless to say I won't be staying there again.
Nice hotel and conference facilities but the rooms were tired and dated. I believe one of the towers the rooms had been modernised but I stayed in the main tower and everything looks very worn and old. I had 2 single beds in my room, 1 was nice but the other you sunk right through to the bed slats and could feel the springs. Not what I was expecting. All staff were friendly.
Nice hotel! Great views of London if you re on the higher floors.
The rooms at this hotel are hit or miss. This stay I was in the east tower, which is very outdated... However the rooms are much larger. I also find it impossible to regulate the temperature in the rooms in this tower (always cold). I prefer my room to be a bit on the cooler side so this is OK for me, however if it got much colder I'd be uncomfortable. I've stayed in this tower before and had to request a heater for my room, which they happily provided. Overall, this hotel is in a great location (by the Edgewater road tube station) and it's clean with friendly staff. Plenty of food and bar options nearby with the Marks and Spencer directly across the street as well as many varieties of middle Eastern cuisine. Room service is always delicious at this hotel as well. I'm deducting one star, only for the outdated room and bathroom.
Great hotel, helpful and friendly staff, good sized suite. Executive Lounge well equipped. Cannot comment in the restaurant. Would love to return.
Great location! Currently remodeling so new rooms are probably great too! Not sure about noise or any other possible remodeling inconveniences.
Located in central London on the High Street. Very spacious hotel and staff members are very friendly. Nice decor and feel to the place.
Not what I was expecting but good enough for what it is.
Overall a very comfortable stay. Staff are friendly, superior double Queen room was spacious and clean and tidy. The breakfast had a good selection and quality overall is good apart from the juices that were watery. A downer for the stay is that WiFi in the room is paid for which is really unacceptable for the nightly rate. Good location right in front of Edgware tube station.
Crowded breakfast, minibar not working in the room, only hot water on the shower, no restaurant for lunch. Nice staff, close to the tube.
Awesome place with very good and helpful staffs. The hotel is well connected to airport and national rail services. The hotel has different options for accommodation including king suite and normal guest room fitting all visitors. There are lot of spaces for hosting conventions and conferences as well.
Luxurious lobby Old and small rooms Good breakfast Excellent location A courteous staff
It's a hotel which has got what you'd require in terms of the infrastructure and facilities, including gym, swimming pool, conference rooms, and convenient public transport nearby.
However, it's also a hotel that's pretty much outdated. The leather chairs, bathtub, and elevators etc have all got signs of worning out. There's no complementary water in the room, even for elite members. It would be nicer if these infrastructure could get upgraded soon.
I stayed here overnight as I was on a business trip. Check in took a little longer than usual. The keys given to me didn t work when I got upstairs (security had to let me in) Usually Hilton Hotels are quite lovely, and so you imagine the surprise when I got to my Queen Room in the newly refurbished Tower Block.
It was so basic, I ve stayed in nicer rooms in budget hotels, like the Moxy or Ibis styles. The room was very basic. The bathroom wasn t great either - one of my towels had a stain.
No dental kit in bathroom. The tea and coffee selection in the room was abysmal.
The TV didn t work properly, and all the channels were mixed up and very random. I was only there overnight, but people who are staying at the hotel for more than a few days, this would probably bother them.
This is a Hilton Hotel, surely the service provided should outdo budget hotels. The room service menu is expensive for not only the type meal, but also the size. I just wanted steak and chips without the mushroom etc but I had to speak to someone at least on two separate occasions to get the order right. I asked for a side salad or something to dress the steak, and they wanted to give me a Caesar salad.
Dinner wasn t great, steak over cooked and peppercorn sauce very water and odd tasting. Chips were raw inside. The vegetables were sandy, not sure if they were washed first. Dessert selections were not food either, and the size of it was soo small.
I m giving this two stars. One for the location and one for breakfast provided.
Very good facilities, service, and rooms. Very enjoyable stay
Very clean, professional and the event staff were really helpful.
good location, close to Hydepark and U train station, hotel accommodation and food good (buffet), I had a great room on the 20th floor with views to Hydepark and the golden eye
The service is amazing ppl attitude approach but bit disappointed with the level of the room I did have the standard room but you would expect tiny bit extra from "Hilton" hotel
If you are looking for a good hotel in the center of London, you are well advised to stay here. Nice rooms, friendly staff, good public transport connection
Very nice hotel. Can be a bit unpersonal compared to other hotels in the area. Enjoyable true swimming pool. I still haven't found a way to systematically get the new rooms (the non renovated are like time travel to the 80s). Breakfast is varied and high quality (the business breakfast is crap - go straight for the regular buffet)
Decent if not spectacular. Well positioned and well priced. A good mid range hotel
Worst experience. The hotel is totally outdated. Bad service and staff. The room that I was provided had broken amenities and a blocked toilet. The Western Commode did not flush properly and the bathroom used to stink. This hotel ruined my entire experience of London and I don't think I'll ever willingly book another Hilton.
To be honest we were very disappointed.
My wife booked 2 rooms for 5 family members.
1 with 2 queen beds and 1 with 2 normal suites with 2 beds.
Upon arrival we were informed there was an issue with the queen room and we have been allocated a room with 1 queen bed and a pull out bed.
I would have expected in a situation such as this we would have had a complimentary upgrade and not a downgrade.
We did politely raise our concerns and were offered free breakfast.
We just feel let down when this should have been a weekend to remember.
Lovely hotel, King suite was very nice, although I was confused over the mini bar in my room which was advertised when I made my reservation, to find out it was empty I called down to reception and was informed if I wanted anything inside the mini bar I can use it for anything I purchase?, The executive lounge for afternoon tea and breakfast was excellent great range of food and drinks on both visits
The second largest hotel in London and one of the most beautiful we understand why when you are there and even more when you sleep there all the hotels should be like that
I like the hotel the room is big and on Arab Street and everything beside you
The building and room were slightly old and not rly clean
As loyal diamond members we have stayed at this hotel religiously everytime while in london for the past 4 years because of the location to where we need to be, cleanness, staff, price and upgrades etc.
Well STAY FAR AWAY from this hotel!!!! It has tragically gone downhill! Staff are rude especially front desk, probably over work. We have to call to have our room cleaned!!! Satellite tv now only has 4 English speaking channels. When we 1st arrived it was incredibly hot - you can t change the temp in your room, fine I called maintenance, waited 2 hrs, poor man, the ac s don t even function as such unless you request them to work as they just blow the current air around!!! I then had to call each day to have them switch the Ac back on . People waited about 6hrs for rooms. We were 1st given a room that was like a 3rd world country- I should know as I have volunteered in several. Here are some pictures of our upgraded room. Dirty broken down, totally disappointed in everything this week!
Booked two weeks ago for a fair price! Nice room with enough space and clean!
It's clean, but the room we have, a new renovated room, is small, the AC doesn't work half the time and there's a water leak stain in the carpet. I'm guessing they didn't finish their work but needed to sell the room. But it is clean, bed is great, viewis nice, food is good, and were next to the tub station. So yeah 4 out of 5.
Large clean hotel. Upscale with great bar area and pool with fitness center
This is very bad place the picture is lies and the beds are dirty and small and the rooms are small very small also the bathroom and the prices are very very very very high
Outdated hotel and rooms. For 224 a night it can be slightly more. Breakfast in the hotel may also be a bit more extensive and fresher.
WiFi of decent quality and speed. Good connection with 'the city'
Nice they still have a pool sad that apparently they will be getting rid of it soon
The room smell like it is former smoking guest. Terrible.
Beautiful, central area, attached to the metro station and bus stop, not far from Piccadilly circus.
Disappointed breakfast not the best. Drink to expensive plus you had to pay a service charge. Don't think I would recommend the hotel to anyone
As the brand name says it is under Hilton. The hotel is huge and divided into different wings. It has a different dedicated area for executives and the rooms are in a different block. They also have family rooms which again are in a different section. They have a buffet breakfast available but you have to check if its included in your room rate. I found staff in a combination of helpful and not that helpful although a majority of them were helpful. The hotel also has a swimming pool and a gym. There is also a dedicated areas for party or events just in case you want to plan one.
Editing it... I again had an opportunity to be in the same hotel. This is the hotel I actually ended up after staying in 2 more Hilton Hotels and I could fell the same ambience and liveliness like my first stay. This is more to me like my 'Hotel California' and not only that I had an opportunity to meet lively person like Chris Muhem who is putting all his efforts to ensure that Hilton makes it right everytime. Thanks for a wonderful customer service and it's people like who make people like me coming back.
Very clean establishment, breakfast that is worth the price, good home, well equipped room
I stayed on business. Pretty happy with overall service. Location is very good.. central to many places in central London within walking distance. Recommend it.
Friendly, clean and a good breakfast to start the day.
Great quality hotel. Rooms aren't bad and customer service is very good. Have used this hotel frequently as it is close to Paddington station Hyde park and easy access to the city.
Great place for a business meeting; service was brilliant and food generous and hearty.
Comfortable beds clean and tidy rooms, great costumer service,10/10 for breakfast .lovely night views
Terrible excuse of a hotel bearing the Hilton brand. Don't be fooled by the bright and modern lobby, their rooms are old, dated, and ill maintained. The old rooms have paint chipping, the sink is rusty, and the bathtub is dirty. The room smells and feels old and when asked to be switched rooms due to a malfunctioning air conditioning and loud noise, we were declined.
On their website they show almost exclusively photos of their obviously much nicer rooms (newly renovated) which are only in one of their three towers. You must pay an extra 70 pounds a night for an 'upgrade' to a room which should have been standard for a hotel to begin with!
Quite a nice time at Hilton Metropole. Great services and nice ambience in the heart of town.
Nice breakfast for the duration of my stay. As a Hilton Honor member I believe there are quite a number of ways the hotel can improve on a few services. Basic room services and all.
But over all, I was pleased.
Nice views of the city, I love the pool view from the elevator, the ambience of the concierge arena and the helpful guys at the service areas. I look forward to coming again.
Rooms are small and in dire need of attention; everything from the carpets to the mattress should be replaced. Were it a 3 star I'd still be disappointed, but for a 4 star hotel the rooms are dreadful. I was here for a company event and my colleagues' rooms were no better. Although this is a negative review, the hotel does have its positives. It's located very close to the two Edgware Road stations that will take you into the touristy areas in 15-20 minutes, from Notting Hill to Buckingham Palace. In addition, the hotel features a decent bar on its top floor, from which there's a great view of the city. Hotel staff were also nice to deal with. Overall, I would not have paid to stay here. I don't mind old hotels, I just care that they are well maintained and have a decent mattress. The rooms my colleagues and I stayed in (tower side) were indicative of years of neglect. As I write this, I am staying at the Novotel in Milton Keynes - a 3 star establishment - and this basic room is easily a several tiers above the Hilton London Metropole. It's comparatively huge, much cleaner, and has an excellent mattress. It's clearly newer than the Hilton, however. TL;DR: Find an Airbnb or another hotel in the area. The Landmark is an excellent choice.
