Friendly staff and very clean. Good breakfast buffet at a lower rate than a regular Denny's breakfast. Only problem is returning trips from San Francisco at night will be a nightmare sue to traffic.
The Hilton Garden Inn was hospitable and professional. Unfortunately, there is only one outdoor seating area.

Staff is NOT very friendly, they are more concerned with the Hilton brand, that's obvious. They would have you believe this place has good views, but you're lucky if you get that, views of the bay are reserved for their special clients, again that's obvious. You may get the view of the parking lot where they charge a fee each day per car. Don't expect shuttle service, there isn't one, I found that out too late. It was shown on their website as an amenity when I made a reservation, but has since been taken down. Need to get around? Call a cab. There is nothing for kids to do here, even though they portray "family friendly". There is a restaurant, and of course a bar. There is a fitness room, one small hot tub, a laundry room with ONE washer and ONE dryer. No laundry soap available even though a sign says it is available at the pantry, it isn't. Rooms are contemporary, and advertised as having a kitchen (a small microwave, small fridge, and coffee maker with 4 brands of coffee, 1 cup of each) And of course the $50 per day security deposit to cover amenities which are of course lacking.
I know a bit about hotels from working for many years in security at a resort hotel which included 5 buildings, 2 golf courses, and a yacht club.
I had a room on the east side. Single glass and close to the highway so day and night noise ... even earplugs didn't help. Food ok so hence two stars

So bad. There is a notice on the tv table that we won't have a running water in the room from 10 am until 5 pm. They charge as they offer a great service but the hotel is not better than regular motel. The parking is full and you pay 17 $ per a night. The only thing good about this place is the location. I don't recommend it.
Wonderful room with views of the Bay and Golden Gate Bridge. The customer service at the front desk was excellent. The bartender at the hotel bar was very friendly and knowledgeable. Would definitely stay again.
I'm a college student who often stays here with my father (probably over 6 times), and I won't have the most detailed review or be the most picky.
Normally, I stay here on my route from Berkeley down to SoCal or Vice Versa, and I have to say that the rooms are great. The view of the Bay is tremendous, and the layout of the beds and table are generally spacious. The bathrooms are clean, and the staff is pretty accommodating (as we've asked for small random things many times.)
I've never eaten here, but the hotel is right next to enough great restaurants that it's never been a problem.
The hotel is always seconds away from the freeway, and 10 minutes away from Berkeley.
It looks like I'm celebrating this place, but I guess nothing bugs me about it.
My birthday is on New Year's Eve, every year is a challenge staying within a budget and visiting a place we have never gone before. This year I must say has been a blessing from beginning to end. Hilton Garden Inn was totally awesome! And they were under construction doing our stay. The view was AWESOME! Everything was close, we had so many options for excursions, and easy access to the freeway no matter where we were going. The breakfast was excellent EVERYDAY and a full breakfast not just a snack. The serving staff, hotel staff and management all were sharp, neat, clean and carried a smile everyday. We were told we may hear banging due to the construction starting at 10 AM. We never heard it or at least it never bothered us nor was it unbearable. We are still here and I will share the closing once we return home. SIMPLY EXCELLENT! Thank you again Miranda.
Really kind and helpful front desk. They had a burst water supply line that shut the restaurant, but put on an excellent fruit and pastry breakfast in the lobby, amidst all the mopping up. If you want a largish hotel that is really friendly and flexible. This is it!
Great hotel, great location, and great prices! If you're spending time in the Bay Area, I strongly recommend it. They have a great breakfast buffet too. My only recommendation is to book a room with the city view, and not the mountain view. I got a mountain view room, and the freeway noise was relatively loud all night long.
The location was great, easy highway access. The parking lot is a little weird because it is gated. You basically need to check in before you can park your car. The staff was fantastic and very helpful at all times. The rooms were well stocked with outlets chairs and space. A great hotel to spend a few nights at. Unfortunately breakfast isn't included but their is a Denny's across the *busy street.
This place was nice but did not offer complimentary breakfast or free parking. They charge for breakfast and parking is $17.00 dollars a day.

Location is fantastic. Plenty to do and see in the immediate area. The rooms are also fairly nice and well furnished. However, the staff is not very friendly or informative.
I went there for a wedding reception. The staff was helpful and professional. Clean, well stocked restrooms. The views are great from the top floor.

This place is low budget for a Hilton I have stayed in almost every Hilton in the Area and by far this is the worst from the staff to the room the management is even worse that's where it all starts

Decent hotel in a good location. Parking can be a bit of a pain, but that's usually the case in the bay area.
i am a HGVC memeber and stay at hilton hotels/resorts all the time. this hotel is such a good value for what you get that it deserves a 5 star without a question. they offer to pick you up from and drop you off at the closest BART station, which saves you cab fare (around $15 each way).
if you are trying to avoid the high prices of downtown SF, this hotel is over half the cost of the hiltons in SF. the manager and Jeremy are amazing and they bend over backwards to make you happy.

Check In was super easy, staff friendly and breakfast is a bit pricey but was pretty good. It is a all you can eat buffet with many available options that are fresh.
Bed was a bit hard for my taste but the room was clean and comfortable. Housekeeping is pretty fast with clean up also.

Very good hotel with easy access to San Francisco without the San Francisco prices. Although room rates here are very variable. Good morning buffet. Great for Hilton Gold members. Located in Emeryville but they charge for parking. Hotel is good for family friends and business visitors. Located right off interstate 80 at Powell Street which is the first exit off the Bay bridge from the city. Sometimes good value-for-money but shop around. Some rooms have good views of the city and the bay. Uber and shuttles to both Oakland and San Francisco airport's are available.
Awesome hotel clean and good service with nice amenities like spa and shuttle . In great location near to stores and few restaurants. Also you can take bus to go to downtown of San Francisco or Oakland.

Fairly basic non renovated Hilton Garden Inn. The location is in the middle of nowhere. The rates are horrible and definitely not worth the $400 night. Rooms are basic and quite small. Really no redeeming feature here.
Over priced, we checked the online price is $149 and when we walked in the hotel to try to get room it's boost up to $199.
The staff was welcoming and had a smooth stay. Overall satisfactory experience!
This is a fantastic hotel with a great location and beautiful views. Fitness center is nice with updated equipment, the rooms are very clean and current and the front desk staff really goes out of their way to assist you and make your stay as pleasant as possible. I was also very surprised with the inexpensive room rates. The prices do flex a bit depending on which view you'd like (Oakland hills vs. the bay) but I guess that's typical. Probably the most unlikely and unexpected benefit of this hotel so far has been the chef. I've had so many great dinners in the hotel's pub restaurant during my last two long-term stays here. I cook a lot myself and am a bit of a food snob, but I continue to be impressed. Highly recommended.
They helped me get a package shipped out. All staff were terrific. Clean and nicely decorated.
Service was great. Only complaints are thin walls/windows. I could here my neighbor's TV and being on the top floor the road noise was still bothersome.
I checked in the hotel on 12/22 for a stay of 1 day and decided to pay cash, after holding my room with my credit card. The agent at the desk, Jamal advised me he would charge my card $50 for the deposit and I was to pay $149.66 (which I did). After giving him $150 in cash I received a text that the card was charged $171.60! Now how is this possible? Why would my card be double charged when the agent took my cash? Upon finding this out, I was directed to Jeremy (manager) whom I was told this can be corrected immediately. After speaking in person to this farse of a manager, he basically challenged my intelligence stating I didnt give Jamal any cash as they dont accept it. Of course, WE exchanged alot of words (not so charming) and I asked him if there were cameras to prove that i did in fact give Jamal 1-100 bill, 2- Twenties and 2- five dollar bills! He said 'yes there were but only security and another head manager could access them and they were on Christmas vacation"!
So now at this point, Since that extra charge has hindered my kids Christmas, I'll be contacting the corporate division for Jamal's theft and Jeremy BEYOND HORRIBLE AND EMBARRASSING behavior!

Stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn Bay Bridge to wrap up a honeymoon. I must say the staff especially the assistant front desk manager was extremely helpful. The location is very convienent being 5 minutes from the Oakland Bridge. The only reason for 4 stars is I feel the hotel could use a little updating.
The experience was average. Good in terms of customer service, what you'd expect from Hilton. However, the hotel is under construction - so if you don't mind dust it's fine. My bathroom had a bit of a weird odor, not sure what it was, I'm assuming it is from the pipe issue - hence construction. The staff here are great, the hotel rooms themselves could use some updates.
I have been trying to check into this hotel since 3pm via the app and since 6:45pm at the counter. They are saying their systems are down and don't know when this will be fixed and I was sitting in their restaurant eating my dinner that got cold for waiting to get checked into my room and the waiters both stopped and said I couldn't do that. I agreed and said that I would much rather be in my room but I am not. Instead I am standing around with absolutely no clue of when they will resolve this and I asked for a manager twice and they said oh stand by we can't get him right now. This is completely unprofessional. I book with this hotel every other week for work and am a diamond member and have a reservation that I booked a few weeks ago.
Not able to use digital key or app or anything. The lobby girls are telling everyone to wait that there isn't anything they can do.

The hotel is well situated near the Emeryville Amtrak station, and is only a quick 15-20 Uber ride from most San Francisco sights. Hotel staff was extremely friendly and courteous, and our room was clean and well appointed. Absolutely no complaints.
My room was clean at check-in, had a great view of bay, and included expected amenities. Slept well in comfortable bed; hotel floors and rooms were quiet. Great walking or bike trails along bay, shopping, and restaurants are near hotel. WiFi in rooms and lobby good for work and general Web browsing. Check-in/out process was smooth. Hotel staff was courteous.
Last time I was here the fire alarm went off at 1 am, we had to evacuate from the 8th floor and it was sooo cold outside I ended up getting sick :(

Great place to stay in Emeryville. I was in town for a fishing trip, and this place is right down the street from the wharf. Perfect! Clean rooms, nice staff (Brigitte), plenty of parking. The only issue I had was breakfast. So with Covid-19, the hotel's breakfast wasn't much. I get it. I was told three different amounts for what I had to spend, and it got me 2 small burritos that cost $1.99 elsewhere. My $10-$13 breakfast got me 2 small burritos? Next time, I won't be paying extra for breakfast. There is a Denny's on the other side of the freeway.
Easy to find. 1st floor public restroom stall doors leave little leg room. Clean. Nice conference room.

I went to San Francisco one year ago and I stayed at this hotel. I had an amazing experience! The room was good and clean, the location was close to some restaurants and a shopping center, and the best part of all, the staff. They were very nice and professional. There's a restaurant in the hotel and the waiters/waitresses there were absolutely amazing. I recommend y'all stay at this hotel.

My second floor room had a close-up view of the hotel's rusting HVAC equipment, but I didn't need a room with a good view. The strangest thing about the room was the odd bathroom design decisions: no fan, no towel racks/hooks, and an outward swinging door that blocked the entrance to the room.

Not sure why it's called Holton SAN FRANCISCO? This hotel is in Oakland. Still a great place to stay. Oakland has some great restaurants and it's less crowded than SF. Clean rooms, good service and great breakfast. Easy.parkimg.
The Hilton Garden Inn is in a great location in Emeryville near the waterfront looking out at the San Francisco Bay. The room I stayed in was clean, elegant, and had all the amenities (minifridge, microwave, Nespresso machine, iron, hair drier, etc.). The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The only thing keeping this review from being 5 stars is that parking is $17/night/vehicle. Otherwise, I had a great stay.
The people at the hotel were very friendly and the hotel was very clean. We traveled with another couple and shared a room with 2 full size beds. The room was just really tight with all of us and our suitcases. If it was just us, it would have been enough room, but with another couple we didn't have places to open suitcases and the beds were really small.
All employees were nice, and despite a busy weekend afternoon kept their standards of customer service to excellent!
